Food is excellent, but don't order at the counter. They got my order all wrong and nothing I can do about it.

For the second time in a month I got home to eat my food only to discover that my wrap was not prepared as requested. I specifically asked for no cheese yet as I examined my wrap there was cheese present. This is unacceptable. I don't know why it is so hard to get the order correct. At this point im going to reach out to their Corporate Office. The mistake I made was not checking my order before I left. Thats on me for assuming that staff is competent enough to get it right. For one it took SO LONG for me to get my order. I ordered at the kiosk around 5:20 and I didn't get my order until 5:45. Sometimes when I get that $2 off coupon in the mail, I get inspired to get my daily vegetable quota from Hello Bistro for dinner that day. Because honestly, at the prices nowadays, a coupon is the only way I can sort-of justify paying over $10 for a salad. The ingredients were fresh and I made myself the most delicious combination of a build-your-own salad I could muster but charging me $13 after applying a coupon for a SALAD is insane. The staff member who made my salad was funny and personable but doesn't know what "light" application of dressing means as my salad was soaked with the Thai peanut sauce. I gotta say I enjoyed my meal better than I expected to. Both my husband and I got salads - he got a meal w/the fries and I opted for just the entree salad. The fries were a bit underwhelming (I had just a few of them) but edible. We both really enjoyed our salads .. I had a make your own while my husband got one from the menu descriptions. I asked for mine medium dressed but thought the dressing was a little heavy handed - but again edible if not just a little soggy. The apple cider vinegrette was the dressing on both of our salads and it is incredibly tasty. The lady that assembled my salad seemed as if she would have rather I did my thing via the kiosk than having to actually interact with me which is why only 4 vs 5 stars. My husband had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad which has mixed greens, roasted chicken, cucumber, tomato, diced egg, bacon, carrots, cheddar cheese, croutons and house made ranch dressing (he had his dressing tossed in his salad). He got the meal and had a Diet Pepsi and Vickie's sea salt chips as his side. Stepson #1 had The Bacon Jam Burger which is two smash beef patties, bacon, bacon jam, American cheese and shredded lettuce. He got the meal so it came with a drink and he chose French fries as his side and house made ranch dressing for dipping. Walking into the restaurant cold on your first visit without any advance prep can be a bit disconcerting if you have control-freak tendencies like I do, so a little advance planning or ordering on the website might be in order if that's the case. I was blessed that Toni, the staff member who helped us, was exceptionally cheerful and patient to help me work through the process. You can order off of a menu that has some already-composed-for-you dishes, and at the Beachwood location, at least, there are some printed menus up near the counter where you place your order. Otherwise, you can build your own burger (they do have an Impossible Burger if that interests you) or your own salad, with close to 30 beautiful plant-based ingredients ready for your custom-built salad creation. Since too many choices can tend to either make my head spin or result in a gigantic salad that is humanly impossible to eat, I chose an item off of the menu: the Power Protein Grain Bowl. The Power Protein Grain Bowl is filled with ancient grains (I identified quinoa but I'm not entirely sure what other grains are included), black beans, edamame, roasted broccoli, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, crispy roasted chickpeas, kale and spinach, served with a red wine vinaigrette on the side. The ingredients were fresh, vibrant, and bright, the portion was generous, and the roasted chickpeas added just the right amount of pop. I also chose to add sesame tofu to my bowl, with the tofu the perfect blend of chewy and savory with just a bit of mild sweetness. The beauty of the grain bowl is that even dressed with the vinaigrette, I was able to package up the portion I didn't finish & take it home for later, and it held up perfectly, unlike a leafy green salad which can tend to wilt quickly. I had a great experience at Hello Bistro, as did my non-plant-based dining partner. It was a win all the way around. read more

I ordered the Mean Green Avocado Burger, which had sliced avocado, chopped red onion, swiss cheese, and a light helping of Hello Bistro secret sauce. The patty was cooked perfectly and had the perfect amount of seasoning on it. The chopped red onion was one of my favorite parts! The fact that the red onion was CHOPPED changed the game of this burger! Every bite had a little bit of onion, which added a crunchy texture and hint of fresh sweetness. I highly recommend it! For $6.75, you can't get a burger as tasty and fresh than that! I also added a side of fries to my order. The fries are a little thicker than shoestring fries and you can just taste how fresh it is! At their condiment station, they had homemade ranch and I couldn't pass it up! That, my friend, was also delicious, and I am glad I grabbed some. Soooooooo, Haven't visited is quite some time and today just seemed a bit off. Walking in the place is not as clean as usual and the counters are not being kept up. The "Manager" / "Supervisor" appears to be in a foul mood. He has come to the front twice and each time thrown a plastic cup at the counter. The employees have apologized for his behavior, but that's not something customers want to see. I'm going to chalk it up as he is having a bad day. We have been really enjoying the salads here since Hello Bistro opened ( me-Cobb, wife-Caribbean Shrimp) but we are starting to worry. The salads started to get watery (as if the water used to rinse the lettuce was not drained away.) Recently, the dining room has started to smell like hamburgers. Have the ventilation fans been turned off? We know that new chain restaurants are best when brand new and the farther away from opening day, the poorer the quality. That said, our hope was that a salad restaurant could keep up the pace. It seems less of a stretch. Who knew ventilation and water would be their downfall? We're continuing to visit. We're hoping someone realizes the boo boos. If not corrected, we'll end up doing exactly what we do with every other corporate food entity and abandon them when it gets too far off track. The burgers are fantastic and filling but don't feel greasy or heavy like five guys. The price is cheaper than going to McDonald's or Burger King and you can have them put whatever toppings you want on it. $13 gets you a double burger with the toppings you want, fries and a fountain drink. I've ordered from this place several times, and it's always been good. My order was messed up in many ways, and the callousness and disregard for their mistakes was shocking. I'm allergic to most things asked to be modified, and they carelessly added them anyway. When I spoke with the supervisor, her attitude and, quite frankly, rude disposition turned me off from EVER patronizing this establishment in the future. I'm pretty disappointed with this place. I've had several times and it had been good in the past, but now I feel like it's going downhill. First of all, the place was filthy. There was nobody dining in the restaurant so why was the trash overflowing and the tables dirty???
