Always pleased with whatever I order here. Wraps, sandwiches or dinner salads. I've been going for about six months once a week.

Off the top maybe 5-6 tables and a bar that holds 10-12 people if I was guessing. Multiple TVs playing all sports. Keno, Jukebox also available. Nice neighborhood bar. Staff were very friendly even though they were busy. As for the food, I ordered mozzarella sticks, a hot Italian sub with tater tots. The cheese sticks were bad. Tiny, lukewarm and not much flavoring. Marinara dipping sauce was bland as well. Now for the sub. Unreal Italian Sub. The tots were crispy and salted. The sub was AMAZING... repeat AMAZING. Served with Italian dressing, on a toasted roll. Banana peppers, onion, tomato, with multiple meats and cheeses. Definitely a bar favorite as I saw many people eating the same dish. It's worth a visit or a try if you're in the area. The big positive of this place was the prices. $2.50 a beer and $10 for that sub. My tab was low so that's always a good thing. I would go back to this place however it might be tough sometimes if the bar gets pizza. In the plaza it sits next to a pizza place that I was told you can order the pizza from the bar and they have a window to slide the food through. I didn't try the pizza so I won't review that place. Overall, a 7.1 out of 10 with everything included.

We headed…read moreto downtown Gates Mills to dine at "Sara's Place" and enjoy the excellent Christmas light show of downtown Gates Mills. We arrived in the beautiful little "Norman Rockwell" community and the decorations were extraordinary. After an appropriate amount of OOOing & AHHHing we headed into the restaurant. The ladies at the door greeted us with a big smile and quickly seated us at a wonderful window table where we could enjoy the lights all evening long. A very pleasant young lady quickly arrived at our table, introduced herself as Cheri, our server for the evening. She filled our water glasses while taking our drink orders and discussing the nights specials. She left to place our orders and leave us to settle in and scan the menu. When she returned we talked a bit about the options for the evening. She answered all our questions very effectively and made several excellent suggestions. I chose the "Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna" for my appetizer. And the "T.R. Bone-in Pork Chop" as my entree. Both were excellent as always. My wife and sister-in-law enjoyed the "Walleye Special" for the evening and my brother had the "Beef Pot Roast". As has proven to be true every time we visit "Sara's" the food was marvelous. Prepared and presented perfectly. Following dinner was an excellent cup of coffee (including a silver pot at the table for refills). And a "Rich Salted Caramel & Chocolate Custard"... excellent as well. As is true every time we visit Sara's the evening was perfect in every way. If you want to have a guaranteed wonderful evening. This is the place you want to go. And be sure to take the time to enjoy the beauty of Gates Mills.

I've driven past the Mill Tavern plenty of times during my stay in the area. Located just one…read morestreet north of me on Wilson Mills & Bishop, I was never too keen on finding too much about this place either. That was until recently.... From my many drive-by's, all I knew was that it resided in an ugly brick building in a strip mall and had this ancient, medieval font signage illuminated by partially burnt-out neon lights announcing not only the name of the bar, but also proudly advertising "liquor" and "food". I envisioned a filthy saloon clogged with blind drunks, toothless prostitutes and stray dogs. Once inside, all of my preconceived notions were put to rest. Kind of.... On my latest endeavor to familiarize myself with all the little hole-in-the-wall dives in my neighborhood, a project long overdue, the Mill Tavern was one of my first stops. It was 3:30pm by the time I started my quest. At this time of the day, the only patrons are that of the unemployed, broken spirits or lost souls. By association, I suppose I was one of them. Upon my entrance into the dimly lit, musty smelling tavern, I was greeted by a friendly middle-aged bartender and a sloppy drunk Russian at the bar. I could tell the bartender was happy to have another customer. Playing from each of the TV's were Family Feud reruns hosted by Ray Combs, then at 4pm, Cleveland's own sensationalized and over-the-top news program, 19 Action News. On entertainment value alone, I was highly satisfied. The night shift bartender entered around 4pm and tugged the lights off from the swirling ceiling fans above. The only illumination left being that of the glowing TV sets & keno machines along with strings of old Christmas lights illuminating the liquor bottles behind the bar. Then, perhaps by coincidence, one of the TV's lost it's signal. The drunken Russian blamed the loss of reception on the ceiling lights being turned off. Eventually the bartender gave in and entertained his theory which turned out to be wrong. While on the topic of ceiling fans, he babbled on frivolously about the merits of ceiling fans and the advantage of having them run clockwise vs. counter-clockwise during the summer. To the bartenders disappointment, she was on her own with this one. It was time to say my goodbyes and move on. Based on the hospitality, good nature and entertainment I was treated to though, I will be back to support this long standing, community watering hole. Old Mill Tavern, it's been a long time coming. I'll see you soon.

I noticed on the way out that eggplant parmigiana was also a special. I might've had that if I'd known. I will definitely come back on a Tuesday to try the eggplant. I might also come back to try their pizza. Nice place. Give it a try!!!

Ordered a Build Me Up burger which comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and red onions. The one and a half pieces of lettuce were brown, the onions were laughably tiny and it was missing the pickles and tomatoes. The patty was broken apart and misshapen. I added seasoned fries and a strawberry shake. The fries were completely bare, cold, and stale. They made the Uber driver wait for almost 30 min. My shake was completely melted by the time the burger was ready. Why didn't they make new fries and shake since the burger took so long!? They took so long to give the driver my food that I became concerned and called the restaurant myself to see what the hold up was. The guy on the phone said "we only have one person working." Ok then close off your online orders! If you can't fulfill them in a timely manner then don't offer the service. And worst of all, none of the food was sealed. No stickers, staples, or ties to secure my food and prevent tampering. I seriously thought the driver must have eaten half my fries. Never ordering from this place again and food went directly in the trash where it belongs. 0/10 would not recommend.
