I'm always on the hunt for the best 8-10 inch personal pizza in Cleveland! Today I tried a BBQ chicken pizza from my local Zeppe's, which I have never been to before. I ordered it for a late afternoon carryout and brought it home. It was not busy inside. The pizza has great, thick cheese and a slightly spicy sauce. It also had a "homemade" feel, especially with the zig zag crust. Personally, I wish the crust had more of a flavor as it felt like eating plain bread or cracker. Additionally, the pizza was slightly burnt but that was not too big of a deal for me as I enjoy a good crunch. Am I nitpicking? Yeah, but it's a $15 personal pans so I'm expecting perfection. However, the more I ate it, the more I liked it! I wish it was a bit cheaper but I think I found a candidate for my go to personal pizza!

Pepperoni Pizza (zig zag crust)

Very good pizza and pizza rolls! Saw that they were known for their zig zag crust pizza so had to try that. Ordered for take out via their website and my order was ready when I got to the restaurant. Got a pepperoni pizza with the zig zag crust, 4 pepperoni rolls and a Cobb salad. Pizza was delicious. They have some seating inside but this location seems like mostly a take out spot. I had a note in my order to include plates but didn't receive them.

After a few more rounds of ordering at Zeppes the magic hasn't worn off! Their pizza holds up really well to carry-out/delivery and having tried their hawaiian, supreme, and veggie pizzas, I can honestly say they're all good. I know hawaiian pizza is a controversial topic but this place does it well! Their pineapples aren't too sweet and the ratio of bacon and ham aren't over-powering so it's a great place to try one if you're on the fence about them. The crust has been better salted the past few times we've ordered and has grown on me although it still doesn't beat an exceptional thin crust or a solid detroit deep dish in my opinion. The Clevelander and Meatball parm remain the best in my book, the first for its originality (and because I love italian sub flavors) and the second because of it lucious savoriness with the ricotta and parmesan.

Got a couple of pizzas tonight and my son had the Zeppe's Original Sun. He was super impressed with the flavor, amount of meats, and that it held together. Couldn't stop talking about it. The classic pepperoni was good as usual.! We also had margarita which was very tasty. Solid take out option.

Double down pizza

A great find! Excellent pizza and great people. We were visiting from out of town (Pittsburgh) and looking for a local pizza place. I'm so glad we stopped in. We ate inside and Rose was fantastic! She was patient as we had a large order and were indecisive. We thoroughly enjoyed the Trifecta! The zig zag crust was delicious! Zeppe's is a must try! You won't be disappointed

It is so refreshing to see that Zeppe's is as awesome as they have always been and have adapted to these trying times. I placed an online order for my family this past Saturday. It had been a long day of a stressful home improvement project and cooking was just not going to happen. The online ordering process is super simple. They are offering contactless delivery currently as well. I ordered 2, 12 cut pizzas, 1 small order of wings, and 1 large order of wings. The delivery estimation was 60 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from the driver just 30 minutes later. I thought he needed clarification on something, but he told me he was outside my house. He said that when he didn't see contactless delivery noted on the order he wanted to call and make sure it wasn't an oversight before approaching my door. That was so thoughtful and kind. Not to mention the food was excellent! I'm really in love with this local business.

My "corrected" Zeppe's original. No cheese. Not toasted.

This is our 2nd time at Mia Bella and we definitely will come back again when in the area. Had the Burata caprese, eggplant parmesan, supa de pesce, & whole branzino with shrimp fra diavalo. Got the sesame bread because we needed it to sop up the olive oil in the salad and the marina in the eggplant parm! Good portions. Had to take home leftovers. Having their food really took me back home. And I'm not even Italian! Growing up with the the pasta, the sauces, soups, the Italian ices, and the real olive oil, I appreciate the traditional taste, which I found here at Mia Bella. The food felt really comforting, it was one of those "I almost cried!" moments. Last visit, had the oysters, arugula salad, and branzino Service was stellar! Shout out to Olivia and Gino! We didn't have a reservation on a Tuesday, arrived at 5PM, got seated right away. There's 2 rooms and we sat near the kitchen. Ambiance was comfortable, relaxed despite busy dinner service. Nice to watch outside activities thru window. Parking is limited in area, but fortunate to get a spot 2 blocks away.

We made reservations for 7:30 and arrived right on time. We were seated and ordered cocktails which arrived in a timely fashion. At 7:45 the waiter asked us if we were ready to order. We had just gotten our drinks so we replied that we'd like to have a drink first. He replied with "well the kitchen will be closing soon." This was surprising to us since the hours posted had closing time at 9:30. We asked for more time and felt exceedingly rushed. We ended up ordering way sooner than we wanted and felt like we were being thrown out. If you want to close up early, don't allow reservations past a certain time.

Palazzo is an Italian restaurant in the Edgewater neighborhood. My friends invited me to the…read morespecial dinner here - Black Italian Truffle Dinner at Palazzo. I'm not truffle connoisseur, but decided to try something new. Based on our conversation with the chef who approached our table after dinner, he was dreaming of hosting this dinner forever. There was always something that came in the way until this decadent evening. I'll share my experience from the special dinner. AMBIENCE: Palazzo is like a gallery meets fine Italian restaurant. There are plenty sculptures including Michelangelo's David replica. Paintings of ballerinas reminding me of Degas. Walls of wine bottles, predominance of stone accents, and a small vase fountain transport you to Italy. Touches like backlights and wine bottle walls make the atmosphere romantic. The restaurant has multiple dining room spaces. There is also a wooden bar. There is also a covered patio. During our visit the restaurant was extremely crammed. The dinner was sold out. Tables were so close together that it was challenging to navigate between them. Guests had to move their tables to let someone pass through - other patrons or staff. I did not feel comfortable with these seating arrangements. The restaurant was very extremely loud. I couldn't sit comfortably without bumping my chair into other guests. I'm not sure how the dining layout looks like during regular days. Hopefully there is more room at the restaurant. The bathroom is in the basement, so not ADA accessible. The ceiling in the bathroom was awkwardly low. FOOD: Our dinner was 6 course experience for $125 (no tax, no gratuity, and no drinks included). First course (Antipasto) was Pera Sacchetti - Pasta Pillows, Pear, Formaggio,Truffle Cream Sauce, Fig Balsamic. Second course (Insalata) was Arugula - Black Truffle Oil & Shaved Parmesan. Third course (La Pasta) was Cheese Tortelloni & Sea Scallops - Shaved Fresh Truffle, Butter, Garlic. Fourth course was (Pesce Pan Seared Halibut) Black Truffle Cream Sauce & Roasted Rainbow Carrots. Fifth course (Mare e Monti) was Grilled Filet Mignon Medallion & Petite Butter Poached Lobster Tail Truffle Butter & Cauliflower Purée. Sixth course (Dolce) was Truffle Cream Filled Cannoli. Every course featured generous amount truffles and was very well crafted. I loved Mare e Monti, filet mignon and lobster were well prepared. While the courses were pretty petite, the dinner was filling. Considering the dinner menu, it was good value. Beyond the dinner, my friends really enjoyed wines. I ordered Prickly Pear mocktail ($10). It was okay, but not really flavorful. It was too ginger beer forward. It was pleasant to seem multiple mocktail options. SERVICE: It was wonderful that the chef personally greeted every table. I enjoyed learning about his story. It was a nice touch for him to speak with the guests. The rest of the service was average. The hostess was not very pleasant which set a bad first impression. Our waiter was fantastic but awkward. He kept taking away wine glasses and bringing back the same glasses. There was a lot of confusion with drink orders, and the wrong bill included the wine. Perhaps this was due to handling a large crowd. EVENTS: The restaurant is planning other upcoming events. For instance, Lenten dinner ($55) on Wednesday and Friday (February 18-April 2). PARKING: The restaurant has a very small parking lot with an incline. Arrive very early if you want to secure a spot. There is really no street parking nearby. You can park at the RTA bus station across the street. Parking experience is inconvenient. I'm conflicted on how to rate this restaurant. I enjoyed dinner, presentation, mood, and personal chef approach. I didn't like the table arrangements, service, and parking. If the service was warmer and less rushed, I would be all about this restaurant.

I walked in to a perfect greeting and a private dining experience in an upscale setting with a professional team waiting on me! I had attended a concert at nearby Severance Hall and needed a late dinner that could accommodate a 915pm reservation which was met over the phone and in person with genuine and upscale hospitality. The dinner choice was easy - I asked for a recommendation and learned the special for the evening was veal - which is one of my favorites. I said yes and they immediately brought bread - warm with butter - a great crust on the outside and very tender/flaky on the inside. This was paired with a house salad and house dressing (Italian, of course). The salad had slices of radish and also strawberry with the greens. This meal also started by a Pasta Fagioli Soup that was excellent - just the right temp and brought was surprising speed along side the salad - surprising because it was efficient but not rushed and the temps of all were to perfection - as if they had been waiting on just little old me all night long - even though I know they had not been waiting on just me. It is obvious that they take their role seriously. They presented and provided a high quality, first rate, enjoyable and yet comfortable meal a priority. They deliver this with particular and notable expertise! Just look at that veal and the side pasta dish for the main course! Dinner was finished with a dessert of Tiramisu. This was the best Tiramisu I have ever enjoyed! I washed it down with a single shot espresso! The meal was Outstanding in every way! Bravo to the chef and the entire team! Marvelous! When I received my bill - I thought it was wrong! I even commented on it and asked to be sure. This entire meal was served fresh with detailed and excellent preparation and the best ingredients - served to perfection and the total cost was $39.12 with tax! I feel like I am robbing these people and I can tell you I left a solid tip! Amazing and awesome! I will return.
