I'm very picky about pizza. Let me start by saying that. This is my first time trying their pizza. I got it to go, but from what I could see the inside looks very nice. Might have to go back and dine in one day. I got a half-and-half with the barbecue chicken and the El Blanco.. I did enjoy the pizza both sides. And I'm happy I did a half-and-half because even though the barbecue chicken one is good it was a bit spicy, which is fine considering I do like spicy food but if you don't and didn't know, you probably wouldn't be able to eat it so the two together were actually pretty good. Love this place. The food. But the service is poor. Last time I ate in, the young lady cleaning the tables was FaceTiming and conversing loudly with her friend, laughing and talking loudly. I don't think I have ever seen that happen in a restaurant before. It made me feel like the other customers, and I were very low on the list of her concerns. Even though there were only a few other customers, the three kitchen guys and one other person joked around constantly with no attention to the fact that I had placed my order ten minutes earlier. They were not busy, just inattentive. It didn't seem like they cared. I decided to try again today. I went in for a slice. Same young lady, same kitchen crew. The young lady was standing behind the cash register, eating fries. When she saw me, she licked her fingers and asked if she could help me. I said yes, but that she shouldn't be eating and licking her fingers when she waits on customers. She took my order. Meanwhile, the kitchen crew was doing the same thing as last time. Telling stories, laughing - not working. Even though I was the only customer today, the cook didn't see my order slip for ten minutes. I stood there and watched and waited. For all I know, one of these people is the daytime manager. Whoever is managing the Shaker Hts Booms is not doing a very good job of hiring or training. This pizza spot is a great fit for the van aken district. With a place order line and then either a pickup line or you can take a seat and they bring out your order, it makes for a good flow inside. It was only about 10 minutes before we had our pizza which was great since it wasn't crowded but there were a lot of people coming in and out with orders. It's just so overrated. I don't get it's way too salty to start with. Ordinary sauce, ordinary crust. Tastes like all the rest. Maybe it's me but there is way better pizza in Cleveland The manager reached out me and asked how she can make it better. I always add a star rating for people who care about their food like Booms. Located right next to the one parking garage entrance (very important in these cold months), we went on a Friday night and although it was crowded, we were able to get a table with no issue. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. They bring your order to your table when it's ready - you can also get it for takeout. They had a wide variety of pizza offerings (including Vegan!!). It seems much better to buy a whole pizza, but sometimes that's way too much pizza for just one person or even two. They have cozy boot and parking is easy in the Van area. We walked to the Van Aken District today, not realizing it was Fall Fest so lots of people, music, and little trick or treaters. One small group was ahead of me but it took over 5 minutes to sort them out. The other counter worker basically ignored me as she casually handed a couple of folks there to go boxes. I thought she would take my order, but no. My go-to pizza is Margherita. I can't recommend this one. It's got great crust, sauce, and cheese but almost no basil - the key to a really good Margherita pizza. I recommend getting a cheese pizza for $4.00 less and bring your own basil. Last time I got the Margherita, I asked for extra basil and got a bit more, but still disappointed. Not good at all. Thin crust, thin pizza. Dry and hard to chew crust. The toppings were thin and a layer of mushrooms with a buttery garlic sauce. Very dry and sad pizza. The vegan chocolate pudding was sweet but expensive at $6. The pizza was $24. I predict it will be out of business within a year. read more

Delicious! We ordered take out and switched out pepperoni to the sausage. The only downside was the 1 hour wait! Wow. We were surprised by how long takeout took and actually went home for a little bit. But suggest having their pizza teams spend a weekend in NYC at a pizza joint as sort of a pizza exchange program(Suggest Joe's Pizza or Not Ray's Pizza /Brooklyn) to see how Operations are run regarding pizza making and slice flow. Holy cow! One of the best pizza places I have tried in NEO by far. The spicy pepperoni pizza had a nice kick and the flavor of the white sauce pizza was outstanding. Perfect cook on the pizza. Nice and thin and a great chewy crust. Fast service. You order at the front and they bring it out to your table when you are ready. Casual spot, nothing fancy. Today went to their website to place an order -- there's actually a big yellow button saying "Order Now". But everything that you choose gives a message "order cannot be accepted now." What? How about getting rid of the big yellow order now button??? Plan B: called at about 5:30 to place the order and no one answers the phone, just a quick recorded message saying: "We are not taking phone orders at this time come in and order." OK Plan C - We head to the restaurant & get there around 6:15 only to find out the wait was 1.5 hours! Thanks guys for having us shlep there only to find out this incredibly long wait. Sure would be nice if someone could've answered the phone when we called. Ever thought of maybe hiring someone to do that? You have another restaurant on the west side. Today was my 2nd visit to Boom's and sadly disappointed again. I truly hate writing negative reviews, but I've gotta say the total smug and unfriendly apathy of the guy behind the counter both times did not set for an enjoyable experience either time. This comes from someone who lived in NYC for 20 years and knows shitty service in pizza shops. I don't expect this from a new restaurant in Shaker Hts. The pizza both times barely had any sauce. It's as if they filled a shot glass with sauce and tried their best to spread it out over the whole pie. Today it was dry and over cooked. the cheese was crispy and almost burnt. I almost asked for a side of sauce, but did't want to deal with the attitude. I would hope being a new pizza spot in Shaker that they would try a little harder. The vegan Supreme Leader pizza is outstanding. Possibly the best I've had in Northeast Ohio. But the place is a mixed bag. The salads are prepackaged, which compromises freshness and allows for no customization. They skimp on the salad dressing and charge $1.50 (!) per little plastic cup if you want extra.
