Came here for a Monday lunch pickup and the staff there work very hard but seem pretty happy. I love how gigantic the menu is to fit every type of sandwich craving and the portions are great especially because they also come with chips! This place has been on my list forever and I finally stopped by when they were open. It's a tiny place on a corner in Tremont so street parking. I came on a mission to try one of their sandwiches and I was not disappointed. I got #47: California turkey, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, onions, mozzarella and garlic sun-dried tomato mayo. D.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. Love this place! Solid sandwiches at a great price, good bang for your buck. I have usually gotten the Southwestern sandwich, which I've loved. The sandwich is sizeable and comes with chips, which is a great deal. I have tried some of the cold sides (pasta salad, etc.) which I have found tasty as well. Although I don't think you can order online, you can call ahead to place an order. They have a large back room with seating, as well as some barstools overlooking the street while you're waiting. La Bodega is one of the best sub shops in NE Ohio! I have some severe food allergies and other additional food sensitivities, so I had to make a couple of alterations to my order (one removal and one substitution). They got it just right! In my situation, that level of attentiveness is always much appreciated. The sun dried garlic tomato mayo sauce knocks my socks off. The pesto mayo sauce is very good as well. The ordering area is pretty small, so if a few people are waiting, it can feel a bit tight and awkward--but it's nothing unmanageable. I've tried two of their subs so far--the Southwestern Turkey (#47) and the Roast Beef (#53)--and both were delicious. It was the day after Christmas and almost everything in Tremont was closed. We were just about to give up and go somewhere else when we came across La Bodega. We were welcomed with a warm environment and happy employees willing to serve! The menu is incredibly long with so many options!! My fiancé ordered the 44 and I ordered the 63. Both were delicious and incredibly flavorful! We ate them in the little back room area and got to enjoy chips and a bottle of soda as well. Decided to give the place a shot for lunch today. I ordered the #45 the Southwestern Sub and it didn't disappoint. The different flavor combination with the Turkey, bacons, peppers etc. paired very well with the Cajun Mayo. Sandwich had a nice kick to it but not to spicy. My negative is the sand which is toasted so you have a nice warm crunchy bread to bite into but the Turkey was room temperature. Would have been better served hot or cold, didn't like the luke-warm combination. Definitely worth going to. read more

Great little corner sandwich place. It has less than a corner store, but also offers more than a corner store. Have I confused you? Good. This isn't a typical local corner store, they don't have a wall of chips and drinks you can pick from. But it isn't really a deli either, because again, it doesn't have a market! So don't take the name literally. But what it does have is a nice array of sandwich options. And salad. Plus some soups. A sandwich order comes with chips on the side. The sandwiches are actually pretty big and substantial. So it isn't a five dollar foot long but it will definitely fill you up with quality ingredients that SUBWAY COULD NEVER. The specials are worth your perusal. I ended up ordering one, it was some sort of a grilled cheese. It had walnuts and blue cheese in it. I liked it! I've never had any walnuts in a sandwich before, so I think points for creativity are well deserved. The place is a little tight if you want to stay. Also they are limited on the menu... so if you're going to head here, you need to be specifically going to eat a sandwich. read more

Tucked on the corner of Jefferson Avenue are some of the tastiest, most affordable sandwiches in the area. I was just telling a friend recently that I spend a lot of time in Tremont, but I'm not always up for the expensive fine dining. Enter: La Bodega. My new favorite. Yes, as others stated, this is a small sandwich shop. But really, does one need a Marie Antoinette style seating arrangement for sandwiches? No. Just grab a seat in the cozy back area adorned with local art or settle outside on one of the small bistro tables. La Bodega has a huge menu (see my photos!) with plenty of options for all dietary restrictions and taste buds. But not to mention, their menu is just crave-worthy! I'm not one of those people who ever *craves* a sandwich, but La Bodega changed my mind. I had the #30 Chicken Salad wrap with Lemon-Almond, Lettuce, Tomato, and Onion. It was huge and delicious. This chicken salad felt healthy, had a great lemon/almond flavor, and had me full for hours. I forget the number (#46?), but my friend loved his pizza style sub. Oh, and on the way out, the owner (I think), said, "Have a great day, thanks for coming in, Lauren." Now, 9/10, I usually introduce myself when I visit a new business. But on this day, it was a million degrees, I probably looked crazy and was slightly grumpy, so i'm not even sure if I introduced myself. It caught me off guard in the best way possible. Very delicious sandwiches. The Gouda turkey with sprouts was incredible. The people working there are hustling with all the orders but very kind. They came out to ask how everything was tasting and if we needed anything. The bread too was amazing. The food here is good. A little bit on the pricey side for a sandwich/sub. The options around Tremont are slim for a quick bite to grab on the go. The sandwiches are heated on a panini grill. This is where I go if I have a hangover that allows me to eat. After it is all said and done, you may be spending around $10 for a combo meal. read more

That's all I need! The salads are five stars. If heaven created salads, they would taste like la bodega's. I love that they load their salad up with fixings. I typically get #51 or 52. But I'll talk to you about #52. I've never seen a salad with such generous portions of blue cheese, walnuts, cranberries and shredded chicken. The quality of the ingredients is awesome! The lettuce (and accompaniments) is always super fresh. Their wraps are also amazing. Any kind Chicken salad- you can't go wrong. Other sandwiches, like grilled cheese, I have not been very impressed with at all. I've also gotten tomato soup which tasted like tomato water with dried herbs. Two stars there. I thought it was okay. I know it is so overused when you say a restaurant's staff is friendly but sometimes it's rare when you actually get a genuine smile and a little friendly small talk. The staff really seems friendly and nice, well the two that I'd encountered. It was about less of an hour of closing time and no one was there so I decided to get my sandwich to go. As I waited, I just wandered off to the back...the actual dining area, to be nosey. The set up is small (to me) and...don't know how to describe it...off or something. But anyway, I got my sandwich and headed home. My thoughts when I first pulled it out the bag was "wow, this is heavy" and when I opened it, "dang, this is a big sandwich" lol. Now you can choose the bread you want for the sandwich and I decided on the asiago cheese bread. To me it didn't really taste like it...more like just regular French bread or something, not asiago cheese. Didn't really manage to finish it because it was honestly too much...one half is just enough (side note: maybe they should sell half sandwiches).
