We stopped her for breakfast with the family. There were 6 of us. For parties 6 or more they will not split the check, just a heads up on that. The service was good, the food was ok. It's definitely has the old times feel to the place. The menu is different it's not your ordinary breakfast menu so if you are looking for something different maybe check it out. I ordered here early morning eight at opening. I attempted to place a phone order but no one answered. I ended up coming in and ordering. The server greeted me promptly and came over shortly to take my order. The phone rang and she told me to hold while she grabbed their order. Off to a weird start ..... Now on to the food. I haven't been here for a while, because I don't come to Clevelands East side much if at all anymore. Was greeted by a woman who was sitting down at a table and didn't bother to get up so she was yelling how many from her chair. someone else eventually came over with menus. They have added to their regular menu which is still the same after all these years, but they've added a scribbled menu with lunch specials, which is new. I would probably try all 15 of the lunch specials. They sounded great but too many carbs --their breakfasts still come with toast and potatoes. Oh too many carbs. so I decided between one lunch one breakfast and one special and I ended up with the special beef quesadilla that came with sour cream and salsa. It appeared in a reasonable amount of time and wish I'd have been smarter to take a picture because the presentation was stupendous --very beautiful to look at, you know we eat with our eyes first. the decor still needs something to be desired. The floors are scruffy. The tables are nothing to look at, the heat is way too high. It's 1204 and I'm getting ready to leave and it's starting to get filled up with people ordering for lunch. My server Kendel was a little abrupt and was trying to get rid of me but all in all it was a good choice to dine with my Eastside appointments today and a very good choice of food. She said, "Yeah", what do you want to drink before we even sat down to look at the menu. 3. Brought food out and never checked for continual satisfaction, condiments, etc..except for when it was placed on the table. 4. Thought she was just having a bad day but I watched her do a great job as a waitress with her other tables. 5. Brought the bill, never thanked or asked to come again. My bill was $17.90 I left her a $2.10 tip right where she placed it on the table. 6. Husband satisfied with the food that came out faster that you could even crack and egg and scramble it! This is a great local place with super friendly service. The decor is nothing fancy and the prices are great. They have a big selection of items in the $8-10 range which is getting harder to find. I had the spinach supreme omelet and a side of bacon. It comes with sliced potatoes and choice of bread. The portions are large and the coffee is good. The service was very prompt as well. A well known gem in the Independence area that serves some of the best breakfast I have ever had. The place is pretty spacious with an open floor plan which gives it a comfy vibe. The staff is always nice and punctual. My husband and I ordered to go and our food was ready in like 15 mins. This was a busy day too and we were in and out. We ordered pancakes, pecan french toast and a breakfast combo. The food is a large portion that fills you up but still leaves you wanting more. My favorite item on the menu has to be their breakfast potatoes. I love how they are made with a crisp edge and soft insides. I'm excited to try more menu items in the future. read more

Most of our breakfast was below average except for the bacon which was thick and crisped perfectly. scrambled eggs and home fries were dry and were probably pulled from a batch of premade. We had to remind our waitress about our order of French toast, and when it did arrive it also was dry, obviously from sitting in the kitchen too long and she wasn't very friendly and had to be flagged down for a coffee refill long after the food was served. Not really that crowded for a late Saturday morning. It wasn't the cleanest looking place from the outside, worn and dated. Kind of drab inside too. This spacious diner is a great spot for homemade meals! I was skeptical seeing a completely packed parking lot but walked right in and was instantly seated! Alright, I am going to be real with you. I was really hesitant about going to this place because I thought it was going to be a dump. I was so wrong! We went to lunch today to celebrate a co-worker's birthday and they wanted to go here so we went. Outside it looks like nothing special, inside it's a hodgepodge of brown walls/ceiling, a wall of mirrors, party carpet, colorful glass light fixtures (some missing light bulbs), and songs like Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers were playing. Our party of 8 was seated right away at a big table in the middle of the restaurant. The waitress accidentally whacked me in the head with several menus. BUT The staff is nice, the food is good, and the price is great! Seriously, I got the Cuyahoga Heights deep dish skillet for only $6.99! It consisted of sliced potatoes, sausage gravy, sausage, green peppers, onions, two over medium eggs, and rye toast. HUGE portion that left me stuffed all day. And it was TASTY! Our server was prompt with the water refills and checks so there was no long wait on anything. I was very pleasantly surprised by this place! For the amount of traffics at this restaurant I had high hopes. No such luck. Service was rushed as the waitress set the glasses of water down and asked for our order. We were just given the menus.
