This review is for a catered lunch of pizza at my workplace. We ordered a few of each: cheese, pepperoni, and supreme. I trier one of each and have to day that the supreme pizza was the winner here. The toppings were diverse and plentiful although I enjoyed gorging myself on all the pizza. My problem is with the price (as I was the one who ordered it for my office) for what is essentially a Digornio's pizza. At nearly 20 bucks a pie, you would expect something special or unique or even flavorful. You don't find anything special in these. Just large pizzas meant to feed a large group of hungry people. The cheese was thick and I suppose the sauce was nice but the bread tasted like any frozen pizza you find at a Walmart. read more

We ordered a large pepperoni pizza, a large socrates pizza, a medium cheese pizza, and 5 chicken wings. The order total was $63.55 after we applied a $4 off coupon. The Socrates pizza was ~$27, which was very expensive for the value we were getting. The cheese on our pizza kept falling off, and the large pepperoni pizza turned out to be a large cheese pizza, which was a letdown. Overall, the quality of our food was much lower than what we were used to in comparison to other Augie locations. Since there was a mistake in the order, I called them back, and I was given a voucher from the owner to use for the wrong pizza, which was nice. They said they would write down my info, and when I called back, they would be able to see the amount and my name so I could apply for the voucher. When I called back 4 days later to use the voucher, the lady on the phone was incredibly rude. Her behavior worsened my experience and made me consider writing a negative review. She told me to write whatever I wanted and immediately hung up on me. Overall, the other Augie's location in North Royalton stands out with its friendlier customer service and significantly higher quality food. Given this stark contrast, I would strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of this place. read more

absolute horrible pizza. I literally don't understand how this place can be in business. disgusting congealed cheese that doesn't stretch or even peel...it's one large crappy piece of mozarella. Uncooked Pepperoni that is maybe salami or some other garbage meat. It took almost 1.5 hours to get food delivered that was ordered at 5:45 and was only traveling 0.8 miles away. First be careful where you look up the prices for this place. Look strictly on their website if you look on Google the prices are completely different. When I got to the store to pick up The food for me in a few coworkers I ended up paying about $10 more than I had planned on. This has nothing to do with the business or my rating just a tip. I do have a few negatives for this business though honestly. First they offer delivery but their delivery hours are all over the place. I called to order a pizza at 2:30 and they said that was not during the delivery hours. I've never heard of a place that offers delivery but had strict hours for when they actually deliver. Apparently they deliver for lunch service and for dinner service. They don't specify this anywhere unless you call. They even have a light up sign on their front door that says "we deliver". I just feel like it's a little bit misleading. Second thing is to be honest the staff was not very friendly or welcoming. The last thing is this place is almost impossible to find in the plaza there sign is so tiny I passed it twice. I got there George W pizza which is like a barbecue chicken pizza. It was interesting but really good. The barbecue sauce with sweet and spicy which I really liked. The thing is it was pretty expensive $13 for a small pizza and I don't feel like there were that many toppings on it. I have had their plane pepperoni pizza before. My work has ordered it I'm not a huge fan I don't like their pizza sauce but that's just I personal preference. I do like their crust though. They have crust like they make at a home style pizzeria. After a long day at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Cleveland Zoo, we wanted to grab something and go back to our hotel and relax. We decided to go to a local pizza place and we were not disappointed. We got a deal, a large 1-topping pizza, wings, and a 2-liter. We got a pepperoni pizza and garlic parmesan boneless wings. The pizza looked and smelled amazing. We had to wait a bit to eat it due to some issues with our room keys, but even cooled off it was amazing food! This pizza was edible ish was expecting more for the insane price we paid for such regular quality pizza. This is the same pizza that was served in highschool on the bad pizza days. Its almost the same as a frozen pizza at Walmart but a tier below that . It was edible for the most part but the cheese was thick and not in a good way and the sauce was barely there, not even enough to keep the cheese together as one bit would rip ur whole cheese rubber off completely it wasnt very melted either had the same texture as leather or rubber. This is my favorite go to for lunch. They sell pizza by the slice so my husband and I go every Monday. The staff is beyond friendly and customer service is top notch. I mentioned to them I had their white pizza one day and they remembered that 2 weeks later and now make it every Monday. You don't get service like that many other places. I used to live right by this place and tried it 2 or 3 times. I'm actually surprised with the positive reviews. It's pretty mediocre. The only thing cool about them is that you have the option to order by the slice. That is something that sets them apart from most pizza places around NE Ohio. The pizza could be much better though. We had a $100 order. The pizza crust was nasty. I had 5 people all tell me something tastes wrong with the crust and I agree. It tasted very yeasty and old. The crust didn't expand like it usually does and had a funny yeasty aftertaste. My guess is that it was old. We ordered 2 orders of breadsticks with cheese and they just gave us normal breadsticks. To my surprise I never knew there was an Augies in Independence. I stopped here to get my hubby a late night treat. He grew up eating Augies pizza from the original spot in Warrensville Heights when it was owned by the D'Aminico's. Since that Augies has new ownership he said the place and the pizza is a "hot mes".. If you go to Augies website all the other stores claim no relationship with the Warrensville pizzeria (HINT HINT). When we moved to Streetsboro he was elated to find there was an Augies in South Russell owned by Mr. & Mrs. Jenks. He was even more excited when he found out I went to school with one of Jenks daughters and son in law. Its been a while since patroning Augies because my husband's favorite pizzeria is Angelos in Lakewood and he's willing to burn gas and rubber on that hour long trek to get his pizza. So I ordered his usual as I usually do. Medium, regular crust, light sauce, light onion, pepperoni, sausage, well done. It looks like an Augies pizza but his taste buds will be the ultimate judge. UPDATED Review: Get extra cheese - it's really good. Super thick, although they do charge extra for it. Also LOVE their house salad dressing. Another plus for me is that you can order the wings plain with sauce on the side, so if you have people that like different sauces, it makes it easier to mix and match. The food is solid. The only problem is their service level. They have these coupons and they post them on their website. Currently, they only allow you to use them if you print them out. In this mobile world, who does that? The thing is that the coupons actually don't say you have to print them out! It says they either must be presented or mentioned at the time of order. Only mentioning is not good enough - even though that is what the coupon states! False advertising? I was staying at a hotel in Independence, in town a night early for a wedding. Needed something to eat and didn't want suburbia chain food. Ordered a deluxe mini pizza (not on the menu but they were nice enough to make one for me), fried ravioli, spicy garlic wings, Italian calzone, and side salad. Pizza was good, not great. Toppings were incredibly fresh and high quality but sauce and crust were just OK. Calzone was very good. Perfect balance of pastry vs. filling and a good-sized filling. Fried ravioli was bland and a bit lifeless, even with marinara or ranch. Wings - spicy garlic sauce was recommended by the staff and the sauce was excellent. Wings themselves were OK. Salad was meh... just a lot of iceberg, some shredded cheese, 4 olives and 2-3 grape tomatoes. Ma's Italian dressing was OK -- a bit sweet. Service was friendly but a bit slow -- it was nice of them to make a deluxe in mini-size for me. Ambience is just a very plain lunch counter type place in a strip mall. They do pizza by the slice for lunch on weekdays for nearby offices -- might be a good quick option. All in all a decent non-chain alternative for a quick take-out or eat-in meal. read more

The pizza is greasy and weighs a ton. Two pluses. The slices are small, but again, they are dense. I also like how the toppings "look" and how they are incorporated into the slice. They're not just piled on top, ready to fall off. Nor are they completely hidden underneath the cheese (a la Teresa's). It's perfect. Just had a plain, now slowly but surely getting my way (weigh) through a mushroom. Great pizza!!! I am digging this sauce. Augie's offers an item on the menu called BBQ Sampler. It includes 1/3 rack of ribs, 6 wings, & cole slaw for $10.95. I got it to go and was disappointed when I opened it up to see there were only 5 small and in no way jumbo wings. I dug into the ribs and found that they were as tasty as they were tender. Definitely a thumbs up on the ribs. The wings were nicely done with a good balance of heat and flavor. The slaw had a nice creamy texture and was a perfect compliment to the ribs and wings. I have to say that watching Restaurant Impossible and Bar Rescue has opened my eyes on how filthy some bars and eateries are these days. The first thing I noticed about Augie's was the dirty air duct ABOVE the area where pizza sits (see picture below). This is the sort of thing that floats down onto the food. This also shows a complete lack of attention to detail by management. Second, I noticed underneath the hotpad where display pizza sits was incredibly dirty. Bugs would definitely be attracted to that. What is infuriating is it would take all of a minute to wipe down with bleach/water. Now onto the pizza...it was terrible to say the least. Heavy and lacking in cheese and other toppings. The crust was slightly burnt and hard. Not to mention I paid over $16 for a "large" pizza which looked more like a medium from Domino's. I felt completely ripped off. In a time when money is tight, I would highly recommend you stay away from this place. The dirt alone is reason to believe their food is not safe. Then when you actually taste the pizza it becomes clear - - they are not concerned with producing a quality produce which makes people come back. I predict this place will be closed within a year. NOTE: The paint job in the place is nice as is the floor. But don't let that fool you. Look BEHIND the counter and then judge. Newspapers were all over the counters and the cooking area was messy. Not good signs. I hope management reads this and does something about it. Otherwise their business will slowly wither away and they will close. read more

Love this pizza! I had heard really great things about this place for a while, so I had been very eager to check it out! You have the choice to order ahead or they also sell usually a few different types of pizzas that you can just go in and order in store by the slice- which is usually what I try to do. It seems like it's consistently pretty busy but the staff is always working hard to make sure it's all flowing smoothly. The few different pizzas I've had were very tasty and they do a great job with making sure every slice is super cheesy! I'll always go here when i'm in the area! read more

Not bad pizza, just not that good. They say they won best sauce in Cleveland, but I would have to disagree. It wasn't that flavourful, which is the same I would say for the crust. On a good note, the cheese is pretty good, on the other hand they are extremely stingy with the toppings, which were mediocre anyhow. They are very friendly, and its not a huge chain, so I'd definatly go here before one of the lame corporations, but there are better choices, some of them very close-by. read more

Cleveland is a decent food town and has enough Italian heritage to know good pizza. Why places like Augie's are propped up as a positive pizza experience is inexplicable. I had a slice of black olive. It is incredibly cheap and you get what you pay for. Excessive grease on a pizza is the sign of low cost, low quality cheese. Augie's clearly falls into that category. The sauce has little discernible flavor and the canned black olive slices resemble the flavor of the material of the can. You should know better Cleveland. This is the pizza equivalent of Taco Bell. Don't waste the calories here. read more
