We selected Classic Pool and Plaster to replace our plaster, coping, mastic, and LED color lights. Installation started March 25, 2024 and finished April 5, 2024 due to all the rain. We decided on Classic because they didn't contract work out and had great reviews. We are happy with our selection the teams did a great job and great communication through out the process. Class was proactive and very detailed with their communication nearly addressing everything. The payment scheduled was specific upon completion of each part of the project, it was split into 4 parts. The crews were friendly and their cleanup was outstanding A+. I would offer the following items to include in their great information packet of what to expect so the homeowners can better prepare. Parking - There were a couple times I arrived home and was unable to park in the garage as the work team had either blocked or parked in the driveway. Access to water - The teams need access to your water hose and faucet. If I had known the front yard water faucet would have been used I would have prepared by removing my garden décor instead of having it knocked over. Dust - My patio furniture, décor, and plants were covered in dust. Had I known what to expect I would have moved the items or covered them. I learned by day two. Again, very very minor tweaks to an already great informative process. I would definitely use Classic again! We are very happy with the outcome! read more

We had our pool resurfaced with this company 18 months ago. We have been losing water daily over the past 2 months and have had leak detection tests done. we conducted another detailed leak detection test yesterday. During the test it was discovered that the water jets for incoming water were plastered over their seals. This prevented our technician from unscrewing the face of the jet. I immediately called Classic and asked to speak with a service manager. Upon being told that there was no one in the office to help, I asked to have some one call me back. I was told they would "discuss my problem" in their 4:00 meeting. And, if warranted, they would call me back. Nobody called back. We can't access the jet without braking the plaster. Turseff is the customer office contact and Seth is the remodel manager. I really planned on hearing back from one of you, or both of you. Shame on you both for not taking my issue seriously. Your workmanship was not acceptable and you should both be ashamed for the way this issue was handled by you. I don't typically subscribe to sharing my opinion in this form, but you have left me feeling unimportant and you couldn't care less. We are beyond disappointed and will not forget this. I'm going to give a 1 star on this job. I really wanted to resurface my pool. I had explained to them prior that I wanted a black finish. I had looked up the black color online through pebble tech and it is definitely not that I have in my pool. This is brown with white specks. I'm extremely disappointed also because I had gotten them to replace my tile with a grey that doesn't match the pool color now since a brown pebble was used in the pool. I don't know how any company can mess up this badly but I definitely would recommend you to find a company that can do a project right when you are spending this kind of money to get it done read more

Classic Tile & Plaster Review By Joseph P Dougan Plano, TX 11/7/2020 A few years ago I used a service that was based in Garland that was highly recommended from people on the various social media sites. This is our first pool, and knowing nothing about what to expect, I took other's advice. That was a huge mistake. All of the recommendations were from people immediately after their service work was completed. Everything always looks great the day after the trucks pull away. My re-surface started falling apart by the end of the 1st warranty year which was not honored. Knowing what I know now, I can safely say the problems can be directly attributed to both the quality of workmanship and inferior materials. By four years I was needing another re-surface. The surface was craking and breaking away. Four new companies evaluated my needs and all though it had been 12-15 years since my last re-surface. This time I did my own detailed research and chose Classic Tile & Plaster. I was committed to not writing any review until year after the work was completed the contract was up. Part of my research criteria was getting referrals from Classic customers years after the Classic's work was completed. I can say Classic has completely lived up to their exemplary reputation. After having three companies review my needs and make their quotes, I had David Adams out to explain their operation. I wanted someone who had complete control of the entire operation and not having the various work sub-contracted out especially if something goes wrong. Classic quote was neither the least expensive nor the most. I will say that they did more work and used a higher grade of product (surface material) than the contractor from four years ago, but Classic charged less and stood behind their work. Technically, this is a 5-star writeup but a 4-star review. If there was a better communication process, it would be 5-stars all the way. Every bit of the work and pool startup were virtually perfect. Their masons were exceptional, meticulous, and careful. The pool is probably 25 years old and the existing bricks could not be matched should they accidentally be broken during the remodel. Somethings cannot be avoided that are not a direct result of workmanship. I had one of those problems. The ground below the re-worked spa settled and created a hairline crack on the spa step which gradually kept getting larger though not leaking. Knowing the difficulty from dealing with the previous contractor, I knew I was in for a dreaded contractor fight. Seth, the supervisor, came out and took one look and explained what probably happened. Without me having to plead my case, Seth said that Classic would rebuild (not patch) the spa. I was in shock, but obviously happy. The pool and spa look great after a year. I know that others have stated Classic was regarded as the most expensive, but I did not find that to be true. More importantly, considering the number of start-up and fly-by-night companies out there, it is reassuring to know that there is a stable quality organization out there like Classic Tile and Plaster who we can depend on. read more

We hired Classic Tile & Plaster to finish a reno job another contractor bailed partway through. There's some feedback for Classic in the review but still felt good giving 4 stars. We had them complete the following: -Change the depth of deep end from 9 to 5 ft. (redo rebar, fill with gravel) -Install spotters on steps -Cap off floor pop-up system -Remove rope anchors (was a diving pool) -Update to dual drains -Resurface pool with Pebble Sheen (Aqua White w/ glass beads & abalone shells) -New water eyelets/jets -Pressure Test -Startup David our sales rep was wonderful. He was very informative, always returned phone calls/emails and was easy to work with. Once we were on schedule, we noticed opportunities for improvement with communication specifically. We were given a potential start date but did not hear back for another 2-3 weeks after that date. I guess they forgot to inform us they are closed for the last few weeks of the year? Then understandable, more delays due to weather. When things were underway, we started getting updates by phone for a while then it started to get spotty. The crews were very efficient and polite. They took care not to damage the already repaired deck. They did break some tiles but fixed them right away after I called in. We paid on time (4 installments) and once they thought they didn't receive payment but did. When the work was finished, we were sent start-up instructions to be done on our own. Another follow up rectified as it was to be included in our contract. The pool finish looks great but does show discoloration in certain areas (post 30 days). We did notice a leak after completion and was losing 1.5 - 2 inches of water daily. I learned they did not pressure test the plumbing as indicated. Another call and they sent someone to do a dye test. He was very nice and showed me it was leaking at the skimmer. He ended up plugged both of them to keep it from leaking. I got a nice email from a guy named Seth (remodel manager) saying they were going to set up a vendor come out to fix the skimmer and keep me posted. I assume the repair was done since I found PVC remnants and some digging had been done. Never got a follow up so I assume it's resolved? There's no more water flooding in the alley so that's important. The pricing was reasonable and the project was completed. Our pool looks so much better and I know everyone worked hard. I strongly recommend they find a better way to organize communication with their clients (CRM?) more frequently instead of being left to guess what is going on. Overall we are happy. read more

I recently hired Classic to replace all my spa tiles inside and out. When the salesman came to the house, I specifically showed him and explained to him that I wanted ALL the tiles on the front of the spa replaced. He mentioned that my pool would have to be partially drained (probably the day before work was to begin) in order to reach the lower tiles. I was fine with that. When I received the contract, it said that the tiles above the "pool line" would be replaced. I found this confusing as he had never mentioned the language "pool line" in our meeting. I wanted clarification before I signed the contract because I still wanted all the tiles on the front of the spa replaced. I e mailed him and asked if the price "includes all the tile attached to the spa inside and out, including the waterfall area". His response was "yes". The tile work was done in a day and the gentlemen did a great job. The only problem was that the bottom row of tiles attached to my spa were not replaced. When I questioned this, the salesman said to "refer to my contract". He also said he would be happy to set up a new contract to replace all the tiles in my whole "pool line" so they would all match. I was actually a return customer, having had them do work several years ago re-plastering my pool. I would just warn customers that if you have a question about your contract, and the language doesn't seem to match what you talked about, have them rewrite the contract until you are pleased with the language so you will get what you agreed to pay for. I'm still wondering why the salesman mentioned having to partially drain the pool (which was not done) so they could replace tiles that were clearly 6-8 inches above the water line. read more

We hired Classic Tile & Pool to replaster our 20 year old pool, rebuild our pool/column fountain, replace pool light and to bead blast/clean our tile. We are very pleased with the process and result. Some delay on our work due to a very rainy May. Other than that, I was contacted by Wendy ( scheduler) the day before any of the construction team would arrive, so we knew what to expect. Also, any questions, concerns about the plaster process and construction questions were always promptly answered by Seth their construction manager. I had concerns with the fountain they had rebuilt, he came over personally several times to check on my concern and to oversee the masonry crew. Seth is awesome. I'm not sure about the prior review stating all payment was due up front because that is not how our contract/payment worked. We made 3 separate payments during certain stages of the structuring process. Even after paying in full, Seth was still prompt in answering my questions and finishing small details. The demolition, plumbing, masonry, electrical and plaster crews worked promptly and cleaned up after their job was complete. The only complaint I have is the company they use for the "start up" /chemical process. They were to chemically treat our pool for 5 consecutive days ( except Sunday) Our start up process was inconsistent and drug out 10 days. In fact the pool wasn't chemically treated until the 4th day after filling with water, which is contrary to what was expected given the paperwork and documentation on the importance of this stage of the pool "start up" process. To be completely honest they were timely in reviewing scope of work to done on our pool project. They submitted a timely proposal and contract. Then the delays began and disconnect between their subs and themselves. The total project was a two months late. As the project was being completed they told us they would leave instruction on starting the pool back up and issues which need to be addressed. That Neve happened! Our main complaints were that they weren't clear our Spotter Tiles weren't being replaced, we would have paid to have new ones put in if we had know they wouldn't be replaced. Also we requested all our mastic be replaced around our flag stone coping, but they only replaced where the cool deck met the coping, and didn't replace the mastic between each flag stone. The plaster seems to be generally OK except for some large divots in the deep end. Besides that we were disappointed with the crew as they used our radio and played it a full blast, left debris in our yard, put 6' of sticky tape on our garden hose, damage a fence, left a plug in one of the return lines, put an incorrect fitting on one of the return lines, and didn't clean up our patio/driveway, street area very well at all. We went with a more expensive bid with Classic Tile and Plaster, but didn't see much benefit to spending the money after the fact. They seemed more interested in getting the finally payment at the beginning of their last day on the job than they did in doing the work......... read more

We recently used Classic Tile and Plaster to resurface and tile our pool. They did an amazing job for a fair price. (It actually cost less than I had anticipated, so we were able to upgrade on the finish out.) We worked with Eric Miller as our sale's rep. He's practical and kind. He was accurate with prices and timing. We had no hidden fees, and everyone who came to work knew exactly what they needed to do. No time waisted, and no standing around. We have been through several remodels in areas in our home. This was by far the smoothest and most efficient. They know their business inside and out. I highly recommend them! read more

We hired Classic Tile and Plaster Inc. at the recommendation of a friend. The work was adequate, the experience left a lot to be desired. Work to be done was: replacement of border tile in pool and spa with basic tile; replacement of stone on spillover and two deck steps; replacement of 20 ft section of cracked cement decking; resurface of pool with PebbleTech; addition of wall steps and railings at deep end of pool, removal of diving board. The Pros: * they replaced the original coping (1984 clay like brick) and resurfaced pool with pebble tech. Job seems to have been done sufficiently, tile and surface seem intact a month after completion. The Cons: Scheduled to start in early Feb.; started at end of March. Completed at end of May. * As we were new pool owners they offered little to no guidance on what to consider in updating pool such as deck drainage, different types of deck surfacing or deck expansion. They said the channel drains in pool would be very expensive to replace and could just be filled over. They filled them over and now the decking floods with tens of gallons of water each time it rains and must be manually removed. * As they did tear out of coping and plaster - trash was left in the yard and bottom of pool (fast food cups, wrappers, empty oil containers. * When they tore out the coping they left the original stone on the overspill and deck steps after we had discussed and agreed on price to replace them - we had to remind them that was to be redone as well - they had to send a crew a second time to remove. * Jets replaced in spa and pool were wrong size. * Damaged the fence - we had to call to tell them as we were not aware; they said they were made aware by crew (had not contacted us to let us know); had to negotiate reimbursement for repair before we would send final payment. * Left old coping stones and concrete chunks in area of yard near pool drainage pipe; did not recap pipe when done and debris (leaves and dirt) had built up in pipe. * Left railings detached in yard - had to call to remind them to come out and install them. * Communication with them was spotty - not always made aware when they were coming to work and when they weren't. Miscommunication with office and crew seemed frequent. * Once last payment was made, no follow-up, no nothing. Having another company come in and replace the jets, tighten the railings, and complete the areas around the pool decking. All in all were they horrible? No. Were they stellar? Not even close. And for that reason, especially after spending thousands of dollars for the work, I just cannot recommend. read more

Over a year ago, this company did our pebble tec. We didn't hire them, but we used a pool company to build a brand new pool. They must have hired them. I won't talk about the severe delays in the project.... (our pool took 6 months to build from dig day). This company left a mess of overspray on our tile, waterline, travertine coping, and waterfall. It's all over the pool. They also severely scratched the glass marker tile on the steps, the seating ledge, and the spa seats. I complained to our pool company, they just referred me to this company, and it was never fixed. Here I am a year later still trying to get resolution. I hope I can come back with an update but apparently the guy we were put in contact with last year (to resolve another/separate major issue with our pebble tec- (involving brown spots that kept multiplying all over the floor)... that was finally resolved-Eric Miller) no longer works there. I have yet to hear back from the owner but will gladly revise and update my review to keep it accurate and honest. read more

6-22-15 After getting no response for months, I posted this yelp and the next day was called by Eric, the sales manager, who came to my house a couple of weeks later. He felt the surface and said it was the way it should be. I said I wanted it like the Pebble Sheen sample. He then volunteered to have a worker come out and use a diamond disc on the surface. This was done a month later (rainy spring) and its much better now. Still not as smooth as a plaster surface, but closer to the sample so I am happy. If you're getting a pool remodel I would recommend Classic. There were some delays due to weather and a sub contractor ( Procrete) not communicating well with Classic. We hired Classic Tile & Plaster to: -Resurface pool with Pebble Sheen -Change depth of deep end from 7 to 5 ft. -Replace Deck-o-seal -Bead blast tile Multiple delays (due to weather) which I understand, but I wish they would have communicated better about when they were going to show up. Tile looked good after bead blast, however when they sprayed plaster, they got over spray on tile so it looks bad again. I emailed them to ask them to clean up but no response. You can seem lumpy areas where they changes the depth and they didn't smooth the plaster very well. They also got over spray on stone coping. We used them for start up. which is supposed to be everyday for 5 days. We learned they don't work weekends or holidays. Fine, but again if they just told us we needed to care for the pool on the weekend, I probably wouldn't have paid extra for the service. As multiple people have said, once they get your money, they stop responding to your emails/phone calls and won't fix any of their mistakes. For the above reasons, I would recommend another contractor. read more

We had Classic refurbish our 18 year old pool. When it was all done they did an OK job, but it was very painful to get them to complete the work. There is a lot about dealing with this company that is odd. First of all I dealt with a salesman (Richard) who has no influence on the actual work. He operates like an independent rep who simply finds deals and gets paid a commission (not sure that is the arrangement, but it is the way it seems). If I had an issue with the work, I would call him and he would refer me to Seth (who is evidently the man in charge). We decided to accept their proposal because it was competitive and we had received some good reports on their work (including from the service that maintains our pool). When I received the agreement it required complete payment upfront, before work had even begun. I assured them I would not do that and we agreed to 50% up front and 50% on satisfactory completion. Then came the next bit of "weird". We were going to be out of the country when they started the demo work. I was told to simply put the check in an envelope and tape it to the patio door. Huh??? The salesman is not going to stop by to pick up the check?? After they completed the work my project was turned over to another company to do the "start-up and (to my surprise) work out any "punch list items". Very strange? As it turned out it was a good thing I withheld some of the payment. I believe it is the only reason the work finally (after several weeks of my calling to complain the job was not finished). I would periodically get a call from Seth and I would tell him I had a check for him as soon as the job was done. He would dispatch the third party "start up" company who would come and complete an item or two and leave. This process continued for many weeks. As I said, the work they did was fine. Even after I paid them the remaining amount, we went to turn on the spa heater and discovered it would not come on. The same third party came out and repaired the heater and the control. I would rate their work as 4+ stars, but administratively they are a real mess!!!! read more

We had a complete remodel to include pebble sheen, tile and coping. While we are very happy with the work that was done, the deco seal was over looked. We had discussed it at the contract signing but it did not make it in the paperwork, so we were on the losing end. We wrote an additional check to have it done. But, like other reviews mentioned, once the check was cashed, customer service ends. We were put off three times, no showed and when I said I was frustrated and should get my money back they couldn't agree faster. In April 2010 we had them re plaster our pool with Stonescapes Tropic blue and it has been about 3 months with no problems. The blue is very nice, but the sparkles (which the a rep through in free due to my small pool) really enhanced it! The lack of communication was annoying. It would have been nice to have a dedicated person that would answer the phone when you have a question or request instead of a VM that is ignored, or better yet, a person that would call us to keep us informed when they are coming, what happens next & when. But this is normal with most all contractors, so just be glad the work was good. read more
