Green Top's lawn care service has been fantastic. We switched from Buffalo Outdoor and it has made a huge difference. Bare spots have filled in since we made the change. Even better is that when I asked Buffalo Outdoor for help, they said it would cost extra to address the bare spots. Green Top said their regular service included what Buffalo Outdoor said was extra to fix our problem and it has. Less expensive than Buffalo Outdoor too. I love Green Top Lawn Care. We've used them for the last few years since moving to the DFW area. They are always on time and do such a superb job. I don't remember how we found them (but I'm glad we did), but we purchased a foreclosed home and the front and back yard were a mess. They have been the primary source of helping get it into shape. They have done everything from cleaning up shrubbery, to pulling up shrubs, to laying out sod on a hot spring day. They've fixed a botched fence another company did and brought us up to code with the city. A few days after our first service, Carter and his partner came back by the house to drop off a business card AND a handmade birdhouse. No only was the birdhouse rustic and cute (made from old fencing), it had the special added, personalized touch of my house number on it. Being in marketing and seeing the same stuff day in, day out, I was completely impressed by the originality...so much so that the birdhouse still sits on our kitchen counter for everyone to see, 2 years later. A couple of things I really like about them is that Frank has the same guys come out to work on the yard, so I get to know them. I believe Carter is his main guy on site and he's always a delight to chat with. Currently we have Frank and his team mow our front and back yard and I always feel like my yard has had a makeover when they are done. They are very meticulous. I've seen Carter outside directing the guys when there is one grass blade out of place. They edge like seasoned pros and even blow the leaves off the deck. The other thing I really like is that Carter and his team takes the time to explain things (what kind of bush or flower this or that is. What will plant well in what kind of shading/light). They are very knowledgeable and will take the time to talk with you and even suggest ideas. I know there are 'other companies' and craig's list ads for cheaper services, but they are extremely fair in price, they are quick to respond and they do an amazing job. You get what you pay and they are worth every penny. I should also mention that last summer our family was across the country for my husband's work and Frank and his team kept our yard neat and tidy while we were gone. Our neighbor even mentioned how nice our yard looked while we were away. It's nice to have someone you trust keep things in order for you while you are away. Don't hesitate to give Frank a call. I'm telling you, they will not do you wrong. When there is so much competition out there, I'm glad I found one that takes pride in their service and doesn't just see me as another customer. read more

In 2015, we started experiencing weeds, thatch and, most troubling large yellow patches in our lawn. In March, 2016, we hired Green Top Lawn Care to fix these problems. The owner, Frank K, assured me that his company would resolve all these issues by the end of the 2016 growing season. For the next 14 months I approved every recommended application, including several "extras." For example, when there was no noticeable improvement in the large yellow patches, I was asked to pay for a soil sample/analysis so Green Top's "degreed horticulturist" could better diagnose and fix the problem. Frank repeatedly assured me that we would start to see progress - we just had to be patient. At the end of the 2016 growing season, little if any progress had been made. When our lawn started to grow this year (2017), it looked worse than it had in 5 years! I talked to Frank and he agreed to personally inspect our lawn and develop a specific proposal to fix it. I agreed to pay any reasonable price. When I didn't hear from him for over a month, and had not noticed any changes in our lawn's appearance, I called Frank. As it turns out, he had not done a single thing! After a heated debate, he told me to go f**k myself, "fired himself," and hung up the phone on me. So, after 14 months and nearly $700, our lawn is still a mess and Green Top Lawn Care simply packed up a left - took the money and ran. We are completing our first year of service at our new home in Colleyville TX. We've used Green Top Lawn Care for weed/insect control and fertilization. Our lawn was in pretty rough shape when we started the year and by mid-summer, the weeds were 98% gone, no issues with ants and turf bugs and the yard looked fantastic all summer and fall. Frank explained to me what would happen if I trimmed my shrubs too low. He made sure I was well informed of every possible outcome before I made my decision on what to do. As a single woman, I worry a lot that I will be taken for a ride when it's time to settle the bill... I don't worry about that with Frank. We've been using Green Top for a couple of months and have loved it. They come every week -- at first they were mowing, weed eating and edging but now we've transitioned into leaf pick up. In addition to working really hard and really fast (I'm often home when they come -- you have to see it to believe it! Talk about hustle...) but they do a consistently good job for a fair price. My yard was covered with leaves and the gutters were overflowing with leaves. My husband and I were way too busy to address it so we decided to call a lawn service. The response was quick, I called on Friday and all the work was done by Monday morning! If felt good to come home to a clean yard. I noticed before that some of my gutters were crushed from being stepped on in the past, but the guys with Green Top unsmashed them and straightened them out while they were there so the water could flow again. I've been using Green Top for about 9 months now. My lawn deals with lots of shade, a variety of weeds and hard to keep the grass green. We used Green Top a few years ago and then tried to keep up yard ourselves. We then used a couple of name brand companies to get our tired lawn to perk up. After no improvement we hooked back up with Green Top. Now less than 6 months later our lawn is lush and plush and has filled in everywhere. We get a kick out of turning into the driveway and exclaiming " what a nice lawn!" I don't know why we wasted so much time with competitors.
