This company is amazing. They were arranged to deliver a couch to me and right before they arrived, I broke my ankle and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I had to go to extended care for over 6 weeks. When I called to explain what happened, they told me not to worry and to call when I was home. I called when I got out and they arranged to deliver to me again. They were so kind and didn't charge me storage or for an extra delivery. After reading Andy's response, I do accept that there were things that I missed: It does say on the estimate what the costs will be, and shame on me for not reading the document properly beforehand - it was my choice to proceed. However, most businesses don't pass on the convenience fee and I think that's a bad idea from a customer happiness perspective. It's $37. Why risk customer satisfaction over such a small amount? As well, the $5 fuel charge? Sorry, but I think that's nickel-and-diming, with the same end-result I feel. Maybe I'm wrong; maybe people don't mind and it's just me. Yes, you did immediately respond to my request for compensation for the damaged table, even though contractually you were not required to, and thanks for that. However, I was extremely disappointed in the table being damaged since it could so easily have been avoided with a bit of care putting it together. It's a lovely table and I feel it was ruined. I also accept that the two hours was not just the workers in the new house, but the fact that we weren't fully packed in time. I retract that statement - apologies. To sum up my experience then: If you're looking for a moving company and your priority is to have a company that won't break your things in transport (and this is most people, yes) then I would go with Classic Moves. Personally though, I was turned off by the (not-hidden) charges and feel they were unnecessary. I have upgraded my rating with an additional star. Good luck in general. No hard feelings. read more

We engaged Classic Moves to store and then move our household goods to a new out of state home. While in storage, Classic lost one of our fine oriental rugs with a replacement value of between $5500-$6500. The company failed to include another fine oriental rug in the shipment of our goods and it took them an additional six weeks to finally deliver that rug to our new home. I used these guys to move from our apartment into our new home. Andy, the owner, came to my apartment to look at my belongings and then provided an estimate. They sent a 4 man crew ($170 per hour). The guys were friendly and worked efficiently. We have some antique pieces and they were extremely careful. Nothing was damaged. I was especially appreciative of the care they took with our (newly refinished) hardwood floors in the home. They created a cardboard walkway and followed instructions not to drop or drag items. There are a few things that keep me from giving 5 stars: 1) They said they would arrive at 8:30, they showed up at 9:15. 2) Unlike other companies that charge a flat trip fee, these guys charge for transit time to/from their warehouse. They charged me 30 mins there and 30 back (even though googlemaps said the warehouse was only 15 mins away) so I ended up paying for a whole extra hour of their transportation time which was more than double the competitor's trip fee. 3) After the movers had loaded all of our stuff into the truck, they informed me that they were going to go to lunch and that they would meet me at the new place. I am not an especially nervous person, but it was worrying to have strangers disappear with all of my belongings. They did in fact show up so better expectation setting could minimize this problem. 4) They didn't bring any moving blankets. They had lots of cardboard and lots of shrink wrap, but no blankets. I have 2 and we ended up using them so it seems like they could benefit from adding that to their truck. Overall I am really pleased since my primary concern was keeping all items and our new home damage-free, however, pricing is very high and policies are less competitive than competitors. read more

Wow!!!! Andy and his crew are absolutely the most trustworthy professionals to hire. We are moving across the country and we had a moving company scheduled to come out to our house on Friday to wrap and load items into the containers. But when they came out, they were anything but the right crew to hire and we did not feel comfortable trusting them with protecting our furniture. So we cancelled with them and started to scramble to find another mover. We were blessed to find Classic Moves! This awesome crew was available on the following Monday! And what an amazing job they did, from having the right material to having the right men to do the job. They are so hard working and they did not slow down all day and actually finished all the work in one day. They handled our furniture with extreme care and put it all in the containers perfectly! Professional moving service, careful with moving items, friendly and prompt. Do be advised that (if like myself you are quoted an hourly rate) they will include their travel time to your location both ways. I ended up paying an additional $90 for the movers to commute to my apartment and back to their business (the start time he penciled in was 30 minutes prior to calling me to say he was going to arrive). This was not mentioned at all when I talked to the office. All in all, quality job, but what took the movers 2.5 hours, they charged me for 3.5 hours. Be advised! read more

Classic moves is not the ideal place to ship furniture to. They are very difficult to communicate to if there is a problem that happen during shipping. They will not cooperate if a freight claim is needed. Which happens more often than expected. For pick up and moving would be the only reason I would choose classic's. read more

We recently moved within Houston from Montrose to the Heights. We hired Classic Moves to pack our entire house and move us. We worked with Phillip at the main office. We received a solid quote that was easy to understand. It was easy to book our move date. On the packing day, a 3 man crew arrived to pack our house. They were running behind, so we received a call from Phillip telling us about the slight delay. The three man crew led by Benny packed our entire house quickly and efficiently from about 10am until 5pm. They were courteous and worked with us every step of the way. The following day a 6 man crew arrived with three trucks. They loaded everything up from about 9-12 (and I mean everything including a very heavy yucca and pot). They unloaded at the new house starting at 1 and were done in just a few hours. We were shocked at how quickly they moved. And they thought of everything to protect our new home and our items from damage. We have now unpacked quite a bit and everything has been in perfect shape (valuable family items, china, furniture, etc). This was hands down the easiest move I have ever had. AND, when the final bill came in, it was spot on to the estimate. We would definitely use them for any future move. read more
