This company used to be reputable and could be trusted. Unfortunately, this business was sold about a year ago to an untrustworthy person who has offered me nothing but lies, half truths, and refuses to repair my vehicle. The shop received my car the end of August, 2023. Because there were multiple insurances involved, I was asked to pay for the full repairs up front. The cost was $8,159.57 and I was told the repair would take 2 weeks. Payment was made on September 19th, 2023. Here it is April 3, 2024 and it is still not complete. Talking to the owner receives only promises that are never fulfilled. I have retained an attorney to go after this shop. My advice to you is to run, not walk away from Classic 'Automotive. It is a shame that the new owner has no integrity and has ruined what used to be a great auto body shop. read more

I started using Classic Auto when they were located in Manassas Park. They do an amazing job and really take care of their customers. John and the team are great and pay attention to every detail. I will always use Classic Auto for my repairs. read more

I will use this business for any body work I have done in the future. And I will recommend them to friends and family. John ensures the whole process is customer focused. They finished a day early, they cleaned my car inside & out and fixed several minor things (replaced headlight bulb, replaced a broken clip that holds the bumper on and reattached a mud flap that was hanging that WERE NOT part of the orginal estimate. The work to replace the smashed passenger door was done perfectly. Nice to find a business with a devotion to quality and service. read more

I am a skeptic, and for good reason, of auto repair shops. I have run across some pretty backwards and dishonest shops over the years. However, Classic Automotive, Inc has restored my faith in humanity and auto repairs. Let me explain... 1. Honesty: They will not cut corners or up-sell you. When they do a job they does it right. If a mistake is made, they own it and fix it without cost. If they give you a quote, they stick to it. 2. Experience: They know what they are doing. They've been working with cars for decades and have experience with new, old, run of the mill, antique, classics, cars, trucks, SUVs. 3. Integrity: They provide you with exactly what you need without adding extras. 4. Reputation: you can't always trust Yelp reviews. People tend to abuse Yelp and use it solely as a forum to vent instead of applaud. Classic Automotive Inc has been around for a few decades and they have built a strong and loyal following BECAUSE THEY ARE ONE OF THE VERY FEW GOOD ONES. Trust me when I tell you- if you want service that you can trust and rely on then Classic Automotive, Inc is your place. Or you can continue going to the shop that doesn't know who you are and continues to perpetuate the stereotype. The choice is yours. read more

John was honest, transparent, professional and friendly! Highly recommend for all automotive issues. Very happy I found this place. A++

Someone's wheel came off their car and hit us straight into our car's bumper, so there was a crack and some scratches that needed repair. A dealer recommended Classic. Insurance wouldn't cover a bumper replacement, so we settled for a "repair." We dropped off the car on Monday morning, Tuesday evening towards closing time I got a call saying the car was ready. We go over to pick up the car, and the "repair" to the crack in the bumper was to create a pea-sized crater where the cracked used to be. They also didn't replace/repair the grill as they said they would. So we left the car another day, and at the end of third day they call and say the car is ready. Again, they called towards their closing time, and our dinner time, so I'm not sure what they expected us to do? Drop everything and speed over there before they left? Anyway, we went the next day (4th day of car in shop) and they had replaced the grill, but they did a horrible job on fixing the divot/crater they had created in their previous "repair." Paint job is wavy and noticeable even standing 10 feet away. It's my wife's car and she's ok with it, so I accepted it as ok too. My dad has worked as a body repairman for over 30 years, but it doesn't take an expert to know when a paint job is horrible and the "repair" work is subpar. The owner wasn't there when we picked up the car, and no one offered to review the work that was done. We paid the bill, and left. read more

John and his team have constantly gone above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied with the quality work they provide. Would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

One thing is clear. Leave car painting to the professionals. Or at least me. I bought a few cans of "correct" paint to do the job right. Ahhh no. That's not how it went. So I put my head down and swallowed my pride. I went to the professionals. The car paint turned out perfect!! The damage I did and my horrible paint cover up was GOA!! Thank you Mr. Painter (didn't get his name) for doing a great job!!! Hopefully I'll stop hitting stuff in my garage and won't have to be back. But if I do I'll be sure to return. Thank you again. Job well done. read more

Classic Automotive is a class act! Knowledgeable, trustworthy, fair, and extremely customer oriented. I have had the occasion to use their services twice, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for auto body work. Highly recommend. Ask for John Lanham. read more

I didn't have any work done at the shop because they were not responsive when I received an estimate and was unsuccessful securing an appointment to bring my Toyota in for the repairs. I called the shop several times and spoke with Lexi asking her when they would be available for me to bring my vehicle in to get the repairs done and she said on two occasions that she would call me back with a date, and she never called me back. If that's the kind of service I received when my car wasn't even in their shop yet you can only imagine how the service would have been if I let them start the repairs. It worked in my favor because Sierra Body Shop in Manassas VA did an excellent job repairing my vehicle for $200 less than what Classic Automotive quoted me read more

Very Average body shop. Paint job was OK and the gaps between fenders were not exactly the best. I'd go back and see if I can get that fixed, but would be a huge inconvenience. Also pretty expensive shop. read more

I don't like the fact that I have had to take 3 different vehicles to an auto body shop but if you ever have to, you should bring yours to Classic. They are honest, fast and would go above what you expect in customer service. They know how each insurance company deals with the customer and they help every way they can to get you the best deal. And my family's vehicles looked awesome. Special thanks to John! read more

Interesting place. CheckBook-rated and thumbs up from local dealership, but customer service is relatively absent and overall lackadaisical. I've been mostly dealing with the owner, Jim. Seemed okay over the phone and certainly has the years of experience. Yet, in person this week, one remark really reverberated with me: "...if WE decide to work on your car." Really?? I think all would agree that decision lies in the customer's domain. After all, there is absolutely no shortage of able body shops in the region. To date, no one has acknowledged one email, including the one I sent with the insurance co. estimate. I've called to follow up; spoke with Janet twice, and she said she would get back to me with the status. Nothing. (No surprise--this is the same person who left me on hold close to 10 minutes a couple of weeks ago and I ended up hanging up.) Obviously, plenty of red flags to go around here. If this is the initial encounter, one would have to ask what they can expect if they actually hired this shop to repair their car. Indeed, thank goodness for the periodic small (or big) favors that fall into one's lap! read more

For auto body repair this shop gets my HIGHEST RATING! They hit 4 points perfectly. 1. Lowest price for the repair 2. Fastest repair time 1 1/2 days. The other estimate was 4 + days. 3. The repair was PERFECT. 4. Our car was delivered cleaner both inside and out than when it was new!! Keep up the great work! read more

I first met Mr. Walker in 1979 when I went by the dealership where he was the service manager. I explained to him a problem I had with a previous dealer, and he took me outside and showed me the sign for his current dealer and he said his job was to make my service so good I'd never buy another car at another dealership. I have continued to use Mr. Walker to this day. His work and his business are absolutely first class. A++. At one point, I had him come 220 miles to transport a vehicle to his business for repair via a flatbed. In 38 years, I've never had a problem with work done at his facility, and in fact, I've been thrilled with his customer service. read more
