These idiots towed my car on my own property for "non payment" of registration which I had renewed with the DMV weeks earlier. They never bother to check to see if the registration was active. I could tell even the guy at the front desk probably felt bad that they had towed me. Still had to pay $240 for a mistake read more

Absolutely horrible experience with DTR Towing. My car was towed, and when I first called, they told me I couldn't get it back until 10 AM the next day -- which would have forced me to pay an overnight storage fee. Then they blocked my number so I couldn't contact them anymore. After calling the non-emergency police line, I had a friend call instead, and suddenly the story changed. They then claimed I could pick up my car at 10 PM that same night. Even the police officer I spoke with said this company is known for shady practices and questionable towing behavior. When I finally went to get my car, the employee taking payment tried to keep my ID and then threw it back at me. Completely unprofessional and honestly intimidating. If you've had issues with this company too, I strongly encourage you to report them to the Better Business Bureau so there is documentation of these experiences. How is this company still in business? How can HOA's sign a contract that screws over their own residents? Shameful!

I was very impressed with how polite and professional these guys were when I called them even though it was after midnight. I knew that I was supposed to park in the visitor's spaces down the street but instead opted for a resident space closer to my friends apartment. So, I learned a valuable lesson that night but once again I want to thank everyone at DTR Towing for being so polite, professional, and friendly. read more

This is the kind of place you bring your kids to show them why education and hard work matter. If you don't study, learn, and build something better for yourself, you might end up working here--towing the cars of the very people who did. I was parked in a visitor spot for just about an hour, and my car was already taken. The experience felt predatory and unnecessary, with no reasonable grace period or attempt to resolve the situation before towing. Instead of helping the community, this company seems focused on catching people in minor situations and turning it into an expensive inconvenience. A little common sense and decency would go a long way. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to be the case here. read more

Unprofessional service and repeated hang-ups from so called manager that wouldn't provide name! I would give negative stars if I could. I've never felt so disrespected and belittled by a company. I called about my car being towed, and the woman on the phone, who said she was the manager, gave me the address and the amount due, then hung up as I proceeded to give further insight and ask other questions. She didn't just hang up on me once, but TWELVE times. Each time I called back, she repeated the bare minimum info of what SHE FELT I needed to know before hanging up again. She even accused me of "acting childish" when I was just trying to speak without being interrupted by her repetitive responses. After five years of living at my residence with no towing issues, this was deeply frustrating. Yes, I understand my parking tag wasn't hung properly to be "visibly" seen--that's on me. But the rude and dismissive behavior I experienced is unacceptable. At this point, my issue wasn't even that my vehicle got towed, it was her and her rude, dismissive, entitled behavior. When I got to the window to pay, I was approached by the same person i spoke to on the phone, as her entitled voice annoyed me even more now that I was able to put a face to this interaction. As the miserable looking, blonde haired, eye-glassed faced individual took my id and payment, I was going to attempt to ask for her name again since we were now face to face. But after taking my payment, she rushed through the pickup instructions, which I barely heard, and closed the window before i can get a word out. I wasn't trying to avoid payment. I just wanted basic respect and a constructive conversation. Instead, I got treated like a problem because I refused to be disrespected and dismissed by someone who clearly is annoyed with her job. read more

Car was towed while the emergency light was on and not when parked. At 8:30pm, when we called, the rude person who responded the call said to come at "9 o'clock". Us thinking maybe 9pm. Google shows their business is closed. Called back to confirm if he means 9am and we had to drop off kids to school the next day so if possible to pick it up now since it was just towed. The rude guy started cursing F word and yelling at us for asking question. We were in total shock and not understanding who this guy is. I have never in my life experienced for a private business or any legal business to curse at their customers F words. I was so shocked that in my mind I thought maybe they are police that they have that much authority and power to curse and yell but not even police do that. Only if I had proof to sue this business for such abusive treatment. read more

Damaging cars as they tow them. No respect for the owners. Must be avoided at all cost. Use any other company if you can!

First off I work in impound, I know how customers can get however...the manager of this place is trash. The way he speaks to people is disrespectful. My daughter boyfriend was towed last night and his car has damage, it's rattling, the undercarriage is messed up. There is a dent by the back bumper and they left a piece of his car behind in the parking spot. They tried blaming the damages on him! Geico has filed a claim against them and I'm waiting on the property management to get back to me about this tow. They are literally garbage! Check your vehicles before leaving the lot read more

tow when and only when they want to. I live in battery heights and they just patrol and tow cars at random when they have cars sitting for months that should be towed. before living in battery heights I stayed with my fiancee over night M-F for a year and a half without being towed no visitors pass or parking pass. she got towed for dead tags and inspection sticker. tags are not dead and inspection wasn't able to be done due to not having the stickers come in the mail. the inspection went dead after the 15 days to drive the vehicle without the new stickers. they are predatory in how they tow and take the cars that "need to be towed" when they want. I'm driving through the lot I see many vehicles needing to be towed. The morning after she was towed, if your going to tow one tow them all. I was told it's because they have a small lot. If that's the case get a bigger lot or get a secondary lot like most tow companies. read more

They are a legit business and get the job done. Every time I have called their service has been on point

My car was towed, which I understand. When I inquired about the towing hours from the attendant, she stated that it depends on the driver. I explained that I was asking because my car was towed from a parking lot after hours, as indicated on the notice. She responded disrespectfully, saying that I didn't need to know that information. Although I did not argue with her, she was very rude and unprofessional. I understand they have a job to do, but there is no need for such behavior. read more

These people are incredibly predatory I was parked across from my own home with a parking pass and they towed my car. They only patrol on weekends at night so they are able to make extra money. When I have had to speak to them they have always been rude. This is the worst towing company I have ever dealt with. read more

Had two negative response time with this company. Twice I was left waiting for hours for a tow after being given a 20-30 min ETA. The company doesn't appear to have adequate communication with it's drivers. The company does not provide communication with its customers when delays arise. Improved internal communication and customer feedback is needed. read more

This is a terrible business that prowls in parking lots and looking for cars just to tow. They do not give any notice and they will do it at 3 AM when you are asleep. They tow right from your driveway or even your own parking spot that is in your community it designated just for you. Good luck fighting it. The only way is to go to the attorney general for the city. read more

These assholes put a lien on my Harley after the cops had my bike towed after a wreck. WTF? They worried about me paying my bill to reclaim a 25000 bike? It ended up totaled so they can fight the insurance company for their Pennie's. Every step of the way was a pain in the ass to get the bike released. Cuz they like that paltry storage fee. I feel bad for the people who work there. There are legitimate jobs available where you get paid more and everyone doesn't think you're a jerk. read more

After losing my job, they towed my car from my assigned parking spot because of expired tags, even though I was waiting for the new ones in the mail (which they would've known if they had the decency to knock on my door and ask!) They seized the car of a jobless man and held it hostage for ransom. When I went to retrieve it, the woman at the desk was rude, cold, crass, and slammed a window in my face. These people are cruel and merciless, preying on the less fortunate without a shred of honor or pity. Treat them like the bandits they've shown themselves to be. read more

Just like what everyone else says. Just predatory business. Towing cats they think will pay their 230$ for one night. Yep, I was parked incorrectly, so my fault, but can't imagine being proud of working in this business. read more

Awful, parasitic leeches who can't be bothered to contribute anything to society. Had several negative experiences with rude tow drivers and even ruder managers. HORRIBLE COMPANY! They towed my car for "expired tags" when they were not expired. This is not the first time dealing with these assholes. There is PLENTY of cars in my neighborhood parked in reserved spots that are not theirs, and two with registration stickers from 2 years ago, yet they HAVE NEVER BEEN TOWED. When I brought this up, they said they are out every night checking every single car in the neighborhood which is a lie! They pick and choose who to wrongfully steal money from. On a different occasion, they towed my car from my reserved spot for not having a pass on my rearview mirror, however my neighborhood does NOT require this due to the plates being registered to that certain spot. They are full of shit and the lady that picks up the phone is EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. read more

I was not able to get my car safety inspection done because of the snow that hit in early January. The car was on a private street and the snow plows put up a 2'-3' tall snow embankment that was impossible to pass. It did not begin to thaw until late Saturday evening it began to thaw some and that's when this predatory tow company stole my vehicle in the middle of the night. They ripped it through the remains of the snow embankment and impounded the car. It would be predatory enough on its own, but as of March 2021 police can no longer ticket individuals for outdated inspection stickers for 4 months. If a public safety officer cannot ticket me, why can the worst examples of humanity like DTR towing impound my vehicle? Hopefully the law is amended this year to include predatory extortion rackets like DTR towing. If you are considering using their firm to enforce parking in your neighborhood, please consider a more reputable firm. They should not be using a communities desire to keep inoperable vehicles off their street to extort residents for petty fines. read more

These assholes.... Lol... Yeap I remember them from years ago in my old place, and they towed my son for dead tags... even though they were not dead. This place makes up bullshit rules to cover up the bullshit their workers pull. I legit can't stand tow companies in general, but this place takes the cake for the worst! Best part! while writing this review... waiting for the "ok" from my son that he had his car back.... one of the LOVLY gentlemen that works there ..... .... handled a simple situation as i would expect.... i was not parked in a space, due to his intelligent driver who had blocked spaces to park in, this fool takes it upon himself to come over screaming at me, calling me stupid, cunt, bitch, dumb ass... all types of shit... telling me to move the car. of course words were exchanged at that point... instead of asking me nicely to move.... I was met with that shit. worst company ever ...... towing companies need to be regulated big time. read more

The lady who attended was very rude and very racist. I had my younger brother and she kept talking to him like as if he was stupid and then tried to belittle him by trying to mimic Spanish. She had also told my mom to "quit her bitching and just pay". I will be taking this up even further. As when they had taken the vehicle the car made a bang noise and now the bumper is misaligned. read more

These sleaze balls snatched my wife's legally parked, all wheel drive car, off the street without dollies... TWICE!!! When I confronted them, of course they lied, but all of my neighbors, and us, have security and doorbell cams that plainly show their driver never took the time to even check to see if the car had all wheel drive. He was literally in, and out, in less than 60 seconds. The minute her transmission or center diff slips, I am calling my lawyer and they are being hit with punitive and compensatory damages, as well as court and legal fees. I have the video evidence from multiple angles to prove it. Plus, her car was backed in RIGHT NEXT TO THE WALL. there is no way they could have gotten a dolly off. I have pics and video of that too. read more

Was towed for a visitors violation that HOA added that we were not aware of. Simply asked the operator what violation if I had a visible tags and basically was cursed out and called stupid. I never cursed or was rude and as a homeowner in the community they tow and make money from we deserve a little respect and understanding $230 per tow that we did not want is a bit upsetting to anyone. This company is very rude. they say that they're towing cars 24/7 or each hour in my neighborhood but thats obviously a lie because , they haven't been here in over a year? so that's why im so confused about them towing out of no where. they said we didn't have a visitor parking pass but as i look around another car didn't have a visitor parking pass.. a man from the company also called me a "little a** b*tch" . like learn how to respect woman and i want a fight with that old white lady who was on the phone with me being all disrespectful read more

I just watched these crooks come into my neighborhood and get out and start hunting cars. The guy finds one. It's a front wheel drive car and it's pulled in to the spot. He didn't care he dragged that car against its transmission out into the parking lot so he could flip around and tow it the other way. The noise that car made he was dragging was horrendous. There is plenty of parking in my neighborhood. This was a guy just trying to make some money. If you need a towing company do not use these crooks. I highly recommend Johnson's towing.
