I went in for my appointment in late July, saw Dr. Glass, had zero issues getting a new prescription and left without any problems. Today I come in for my wife's appointment. We can't even make it past the front lobby. The secretary at the front refuses to take my wife's insurance. (It is THE EXACT SAME as mine, even uses the same member ID number, it could not be more simple) I come back after she refuses to explain anything to my wife as to why she's refusing to see her, and she gives me the same treatment, just throwing her hands in the air and saying she can't "verify eligibility". She says "She'll keep trying and call us later to reschedule." I go outside and call tricare east, initially angry at them for what I thought was their mistake. They tell me she's fully covered and there are no issues with eligibility. I storm back inside and give her the phone WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY on the other line. She proceeds to argue with my insurance for 20 minutes while I stand and watch. My insurance pleading my wife's case and her just saying the same things over and over and over. "I've done all I can." "I'm just not seeing it." "I understand she's covered, but I can't verify her eligibility." In the end, after wasting a ridiculous amount of everyone's time for no reason at all. I request my latest prescription and any notes from Dr. Glass for a records transfer. Dr. Glass is great! Her front desk, however, has lost her our business in the future. read more

The front desk lady is completely rude! And so if the doctor! Scheduled appointment 2 months prior to appointment date, show up and they say they cant see me today and to try to reschedule! DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE they are rude and disrespectful individuals read more

The frame of first pair I purchased broke after 6 months. I went back to the shop, and their response was "you should have bought the insurance". They reluctantly put the lenses into a new frame. This frame broke in 4 months. I went back to the shop, but they refused to do anything, and repeated "you should have bought the insurance". I have been purchasing glasses for decades, and this was by far the worst place. Terrible quality glasses and terrible service. (I am from Fairfield, and not sure why it says San Francisco under my name.) read more

Dr glass was awful. Rude and will never be back. Received bill after being told I owe nothing since I had 2 insurances. They are right around the corner but I will not return. read more

I walked into your business and there was only one other person was inside your business and three of your staff. Your staff acted as though I was bothering them. I informed that I had purchased Maui Jim in the past from other Clarkson offices. But they acted as though they wanted me gone. As an Africa American in My 60's I guess you don't need my business and I live less than 5 miles away . I think driving up 50 miles away far more of a rewarding experience to spend up to $1500.00 for eyewear. I won't waste anymore of your employee's precious time. read more

Service provided for eye exam, no glasses, 04/03/2021. Billed $ 332.86. Aetna paid $222.45. I paid $ 30.00 at visit. Clarkson billed me an additional $ 37.41 on 09/21/2021. This has to be the closest to a scam office as any I have ever visited. Do not even consider anything they say. Get everything in writing or they will scam the insurance company or your person. This was a normal eye test, and not anything out of the ordinary. Look somewhere else unless you want to donate money for no reason. I talked to Clarkson and to Aetna...No positive response. I am not concerned with money, but with the ethical business presented. read more

This is my go-to location for unique and cute frames! I tried the Kennwood location but their frames are just classical style. But they have a lot of contemporary options here. The staff are all super nice, from the front desk, to the doctors. I had Dr. Glass and she was very sweet and informative. They are patient with you when selecting frames and are not pushy with sales. They offered me a 50% coupon to use if it provided a greater discount than my insurance. I love this location for the Kate Spade, RayBan and Gwen Stefani frames. I've had a great experience from start to finish. And I left with glasses and sunglasses as unique and artsy as me :) read more

I received a email from Cassie on 10/19/2021 regarding my review. I called and left a message the next day. I haven't received call back as of 10/27/2021. read more

My Husband and I visited Clarkson after not being very happy with our previous optometrist. Clarkson was reccomend by a co-worker and I'm very happy we went there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I really liked Dr Glass. My favorite part of the visit is the frames. I'm very hard to please, but I found some super cute frames and I cannot wait to get them! I usually have buyers remorse but not this time! I can't wait to get my new frames! I highly reccomend Clarkson Eye Care! read more

This was my first visit to the Clarkson Eyecare in Fairfield Ohio. I was extremely impressed with the quick service. The Physician was very professional, explained all testing, and asked me if I had any questions. The license optician that helped me was selecting glasses was very friendly and had excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. Kathy read more

I was so pleased with how sweet all the staff was. The Dr was also sweet and very caring. On top of that I was given 7-10 days for my glasses to come in, they were back in three days. This will be the only place for me and my family from now on. Thanks so much ladies!! read more

April was so helpful in picking out glasses. We really like Dr. Glass, she explains things very well.

I have no complaints. I was seen on time and everyone was very friendly. Huge selection of glasses. Very clean facility.

I switched to Clarkson Eyecare in Fairfield at the recommendation of someone else. From the ladies working the front desk, to Dr Michelle Glass, to the lady who helped me choose my glasses ( I bought TWO pair because of their great sale) - everyone I encountered made eye contact, smiled, and was professional yet friendly- and made me feel like I was their number one priority- not just another patient. That is so rare anywhere these days! And what really REALLY impressed me was their frame selections. I have a large head and broad face- so for years I was frustrated that even huge places like LensCrafters, would only have 2 or 3 frames that would even FIT my face. So if I did not like them I was out of luck- had to choose one anyway because there was nothing else. The lady at Clarkson looked at the measurement/width of my current pair- and just kept pulling out pair after pair of frames in my size. It was unbelievable! I was like a kid in a candy shop- which is why I ended up buying 2 pair. When I told her (and then the Doc, after I was taken back again after having eyes dilated) that it was just unheard of for ANY place to have such a huge selection for someone of my size, she commented that they pride themselves on being able to fit anyone- from petite to king/queen size- and not just fit them- but give them plenty of options. My whole experience there has been outstanding. I will never go anywhere else read more

I'm only writing a review of this store since the one from which I bought glasses the last time closed. My former store, which was on Rte. 4 in Springdale, was one step above garbage. The doc was very pleasant, the gentleman who helped me pick out frames was also pleasant. Once I picked up my glasses about a week later, the script was wrong. I couldn't see through one lens. I mentioned this to the man who helped me choose my frames and he said, "just give it some time. You need to get used to them." After trying to wear them for another week, I called back and talked to this nasty tech. with bleached blonde and permed shoulder length hair (I had dealt with her before for an adjustment and she was quite the witch then so I know of what I speak), only to be told the same thing. Just wear them and give them time. I've not worn them since after spending well over $500.00. I should have known better than to return to Thoma-Sutton. I should have stayed with my opthamalogist who knew what he was doing. Thoma-Sutton certainly doesn't know what they're doing and I will never place foot in their stores again. read more

This place is horrible. Went here by insurance network and was overcharged twice. Had to question them on several occasions on what they were charging me for. The assistant (Sara) is rude and condisending towards your questions. Wow how business like this Act as though your a problem not a customer to assist. Do not waste your time or hard earned money! read more
