When I was in high school, I bought my first pair of Clarks shoes. They were desert boots, a style Clarks started making in 1950 and is still making. A number of their styles for both men and women have entered the pantheon of shoe classics. This is a very old company that started in 1825 in Somerset England by the Clark brothers. Originally they sold sheepskin rugs and slippers. The company was remarkable for its time in history when workers for the most part had few rights and privileges. The Clark brothers with their Quaker-inspired social consciousness, decided to provide housing and education for their employees in addition to jobs. Sounds like a good beginning. These days, Clarks is an enormous global company with factories in Europe, Asia and North America. When I think of Clarks, I think comfortable shoes and not necessarily high fashion but over the years they have had a real uptick in stylishness. They sell shoes for women, men and children and throughout the store also have a selection of fairly nice women's handbags. Prices are quite reasonable. A couple of years ago, I had gotten an awesomely bad blister while on a work related trip from tromping around in my (non-Clarks) heels everywhere. By the time I got back to Boston I was in dire need of going barefoot whenever possible, but on a more practicial note, I needed a very soft open toe flat to wear at least until the blister healed. Clarks had just the shoe. They were attractive, easy to slip on and most importantly so comfortable. I still have them and pull them out from time to time. More recently, with non-boot weather finally upon us, I purchased a pair of stylish flats with rubber soles and a pair of leather backless sandals for my daily commute. Both are incredibly comfortable. I'm not someone who ever wears sneakers (unless I'm running or playing a sport) so Clarks fills the comfort shoe gap nicely without looking overly casual or under-dressed. I still love my heels for the office or going out on the town and I still shop for heels at any number of shoe salons that sell the brands I love, but I think of Clarks when sheer casual comfort is what is needed. When traveling, there is usual at least one pair of Clarks in my suitcase. When in the store last week, a pair of heels did catch my eye. I think they're doing better in stocking more fashionable pairs. I didn't have time to try them on but I'm going back this week to do so. At this location, the sales staff is quite helpful. They ask if you want your feet measured, which is something to consider...my foot size has changed over the years). And the person who assists you will offer to help put the shoes on you, (which I have a hard time letting them do but it's a nice and more upscale service especially these days of limited sales help in most places) and they will work with you to make sure you're comfortable with the fit. I was told that you can wear a pair of their shoes for up to 30 days and if they're not right, you can still return them. And don't forget to sign up for their rewards card program. Clarks has been around for such a long time and I'm glad they are. I feel it's a solid and dependable company with shoes to match.

Why do they have this set up?! Otherwise, the selection is incredible- every brand plus their own DSG brand, which is good value for the quality. The whole store is huge. A giant concrete warehouse in Back Bay, it's kind of surreal and very cold and quiet. A big plus if you're downtown in the summer and looking for a vast dark space to decompress. The dressing rooms are great- they're all huge with big benches. Overall, this is a highly accessible store. A wheelchair or stroller can easily make it around. There are people around stocking and cleaning the fitting rooms, but otherwise you're blissfully left to browse with the option to ask if you need help. It is weirdly zen. Even with sales it is pretty spendy. They do have a lot of sales- easier to spot online- and their signature brand is lower price. If you walk over to the Nike store on Newbury it's the same price, so it just is what it is. I like the vibes, layout, and selection.

I was excited to finally visit one of my favorite brands/online stores in person…read more Unsuspecting shop, looks basically like a Bodega (duh) on a side street from the outside but inside is a small ish boutique shop with a small selection of clothes and sneakers. JUST RUN! * HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE…read more* RUDE OWNER & STAFF * UNREASONABLE RETURN POLICY I wanted to return the jacket when I found it was too small for me. But Bodega refused to do that since they told me that it was a final-sale product. I checked up, no obvious sign on the item page to show it's a final sale item, and no obvious sign on the cart page and check-out page. They told me there is a warning on the sale page: https://bdgastore.com/collections/sale, it's true, but I don't think it's enough to let the customer know well about our rights and help us to make the decision. If I knew the jacket could not be returned I might not buy it since it's a Japanese brand and the sizing usually is weird. I tried to sort it out by emailing them, but the result is not what I expect. Also, you can see from the emails attached, the online customer support manager is extremely rude and proud which makes me feel uncomfortable as a customer. An online support manager supports me nothing. -- To Billy B. below, claimed owner, No Offense, but are you serious? The manager, Nick, was being very rude and savage to me. I used to work as a PR manager for an international fashion brand, I know how it works to please the customers and provide the best service. I also shop from almost all the hype websites including HBX, END, Supreme, DSM,  ssense, ALD, NOAH NY, Mr. Porter, matches, LN-CC, farfetch, etc. It's truly my first time being treated this way. Firstly of all, It's obvious that your website and system are not clear enough for the customers to know about the all the on-sale pieces are the final-sale pieces which is very uncommon from other shipping retailers. The same situation happens all the time according to yelp comments and you have known about it but you do nothing. Your staff should have to apologize to the customers for all the inconvenience first because of your difficult policy. Always comfort the customer, then find the best solution. And then, go to improve your website and system. But now I only see that they use "the independent company" as an excuse to get rid of my reasonable request. By the way, most of the websites I mentioned above do mark the final-sale pieces very obviously for their customers. For sure that it's very easy for your IT guys to insert a final-sale sign on every on-sale page. Secondly, if the order confirmation is a commitment between us as you said to make me obey that I can't return the products, how you could be free to just cancel 4 items of the order without my permission? It's exactly to break our commitment and agreement, isn't it?  So, you can see what you did is totally unfair to the customers. As I said to your staff, I know how hard to run an independent hype retailer, and I want to support the business. I did shop with your website multiple times. But the customer service you provide is humiliating the people who pay money to support your business. If you, as a business owner, still feel it's nothing wrong with your service and staff, that could be a disaster.

There is nothing I hate worse than sneaker resellers! These bot-using parasites infect sneaker drops and leave shoe-loving sneakerheads frustrated and stinging with losses on release day. This is listed as a consignment shop ... but everything is brand new. The Yeezys in the window, the Jordan I in the display cases and the clothing scattered throughout. All new, all allocated and hard to find ... all about 400% above retail prices. My question is ... why would I shop here if I could find the same (or lower) price at StockX ... at least be guaranteed that the shoes I buy on GOAT are genuine (fakes are getting much harder to detect) ... and this place, like websites, does not allow you to try on the shoes before you buy them? Overall, this store just doesn't make sense to me. Especially in Burlington Mall. I hate the concept of glorifying resellers ... and in LA, the high end sneaker shops at least wrap their shoes in shrink wrap to protect them. Here, they're out exposed to dust, bottoms touching shelves, etc.
