Everyone we spoke with was pleasant and knowledgeable. And as it turns out, there was a lot we didn't know about stools so, we appreciated all the assistance. We ended up with four beautiful new ones on our very first visit. Store is clean, laid out well and a pleasure to browse. The stools were "in" exactly when we were told they would be. The young man at the pickup door was very nice and really helped load our truck so the stools wouldn't get damaged on the ride home. Went with a friend and we both purchased 2 of the same style counter height stools. The sales woman was very helpful and spent time with us. When we returned home I noticed that the bottom of the legs of my friend's were pristene clean. One of mine was clean, the other had pads at the bottom of the legs and the caps at the top of the backrest posts were chipped and scratched. I called the store to complain and said one of mine must have been used/returned. They adamently denied (on several of my phone calls) that it had been used or returned and refused to just exchange it. They did order the caps for the top of the posts, which took about 2 1/2 months to come into the store. I then had to bring the stool back, which was about a 30-40 minute drive each way. The gentleman in the warehouse (below the store), replaced the caps and did eventually offer to exchange the stool, but the one that was shown to me had other marks on it, so I decided to keep the one I had. (The gentleman upstairs in the office of the main store is not very people friendly.) The stool is quite comfortable. As for the price, there was one other stool I was interested in that I also saw at a different place and it was the same price. read more

my son and I travel 45 minutes to get to the Weymouth store, Sunday the 17, 2025 went in, no soon we entered the store a male sales person asked if he could help we told him we were just looking. he stated that to get the full experience of buying a chair is that he would have to explain all of styles, fabrics, again we told him we were just looking. then he proceed to tell us that if we did not need his help to get out of the store. I was embarrassed and actually afraid that he would turn on us that way. My son started to walk out, but I was there to look at stools I stayed and walked around. At the end I thanked this so-called salesperson. Of all the years I have been shopping I have never been told to get out of a store. This employee was rude and condescending, and it was his way or the highway. He needs to get retraining on people skills and retrain how to be a successful salesperson because his attitude and his conduct was beyond any experience I ever had. read more

Needed a metal chair for a 60's (not retro, just never left the house) dinette set. Great customer service, you can choose fabrics and the metal color; I found just what I needed. I gave a one because that was the lowest allowed, I would have gave 0 if available. we bought 4 bar stools for $1100.00 after 10 months the edge of the cushion was cut through due to the poor design of the chair. I removed the cushion from the stool and returned to chair fair. after speaking with the manager/ owner I was told there was nothing they could do. However they offered me a replacement at my cost. I feel this was more of a customer service opportunity for a replacement from chair fair. In my opinion the customer service at this business is terrible. Buying furniture of any kind is a challenge, stools even more so, because, in my opinion you have to sit in them! I'll confess to ordering 4 stools from Target on-line. When they arrived I knew they would not work - their "load bearing" was about 100 lbs or the stool would slowly lose height, perfect for kids - not adults. My friend/decorator suggested we take a ride to Chair Fair - WOW - every bit of the experience was 5 stars plus. The showroom staff were EXPERT, they have everything in stock to try out. You choose the finishes, the seat material, the colors etc. etc. we made our selection, the order was placed, they arrived on schedule and are the most solid, fabulous swivel, gorgeous, substantial stools ever. Order Kitchen set on November 15 was told it would be 10 weeks. First website price was 750.00 and store price was 799.00. They said it website had not been updated. Call January 10 was told in came without the hardware said hardware would be in end of January. Call today was told hardware would be shipped February 7 and it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. Don't seem to care about customers. Went thru the Holidays without a kitchen set and was told I could have my money back. Also when I talk to Barry he said his notes said differently than what I interpreted and it did not matter what I thought. Customer service is HORRIBLE. read more

Our son moved into a new apartment with a kitchen island and needed bar stools; after a few aimless trips to the "big name" retailers a design consultant (at West Elm) suggested we go to Chair Fair. Best advice we got -- they have several hundred chairs and bar stools on display, and can order just about any combination of frame/legs, fabric texture and color that you want. The owners are knowledgeable, remarkably helpful, and were reasonable in their time estimates for delivery. Their prices are quite competitive and they have a "close out" room upstairs if you're shopping on a budget -- all equally high quality product. Here's the kicker, and why this was worth a 90 minute round trip to Weymouth: Loaner stools. Chair Fair is the Lexus dealer of chairs. When it was clear that the stools our son ordered were going to be at least three weeks out, we were told to pick up a pair of "loaner stools" at the shipping door. read more

I ordered my dining set at Chair Fair which is lovely in January. I had a special chair order and was told it would be delivered late March. I had to keep calling as they did not update me. Later after one month, they did not know there was a back order so their manufacturing company was poor. My table was there but the chairs were in California. After another 3 weeks they said they were in Weymouth and they would put me up on the list. I was told I would get a call that day to schedule delivery. It was the next day when they called and delivery was scheduled for the following Thursday. Delivery was expected on the end of March but got it the end of May. When I asked for some compensation as I could not have Hospitality without a place to eat. I was told that they would go out of business if they did were to do that. I believe that is poor business practice and they would not go out of business with a better manufacturer with higher business practices to keep them informed. read more

My wife, daughter & I went to Chair Fair probably at their busiest time "Tax Free Week". As soon as we walked in the door we were asked if needed assistance politely not pushy. The my wife explained exactly what we were looking for. The woman I believe was a mgr. told us that we wanted to go to the 2nd floor & she would be right up. When we got up there was a gentleman & asked did we need help. We stated that were told to come up & she would be right up. He said no problem look around but if you need help do not hesitate to ask. We started look & saw the woman from downstairs shortly after. We asked about padded chairs & she was honest with us there were not many. Again no pressure or sale pitch to us. We actually quickly did find something we like. The only thing and I think it's because plenty of others like this item it is out of stock until Jan., ours works for us so this is no issue. The best thing besides the excellent service & tax free weekend we also got an additional 12.5% off I could not recommend this store more. The drive was well worth the 50 minutes one way. read more

These are the type of people I like to do business with. As a black woman I'm often ignored when I walk into furniture stores or other stores where the product is "relatively expensive". What people fail to realize is that I'm a lawyer practicing for almost 10 years in downtown Boston and I can afford anything in any store I walk into. If I couldn't, I simply wouldn't walk into the store. Duh. When I walked into Chair Fair I was pleasantly greeted by Janet and she happily directed me toward a specific chair I was looking for. Throughout my visit she had just the right balance of providing information and helpful tips, while also leaving me alone to browse and consider my options. The chair I'm looking for is sold at some other retailers including Jordan's (but I couldn't find anyone to help me when I visited) and the Chair Fair is a little out of the way for me but I will certainly be back to purchase my chairs here when I close on my home. They have a huge selection and I believe a second floor with clearance items but I never made it up there as I found what I wanted on the first floor. I believe they are a family business (or at least act like one), as Janet told me I could order with anyone when I was ready and just to let them know she helped me and that they would take care of it. We first tried Ikea. We then tried Target and later tried Bob's Furniture. None of them had basic, simple and affordable wooden barstools that we could use with our kitchen island. It was quite frustrating but after typing a few queries in Google we found this spot and off we were, driving 20 minutes with a lot of hope and a hint of desperation. We arrived and walked in. The manager greeted us nearly immediately and the whole ordeal took less than 10 minutes. We found exactly what we wanted, it was on sale and cost less than Ikea! We gladly and happily purchased 4 wooden stools for $39 a pop and by the time we got rung up, they were ready to be picked up and loaded into our car through the loading area in the back of the store. The sales person was extremely friendly and knowledgable and so was the other person who helped us load our new stools into the car. Honestly, it felt like a flawless process and everything went smoothly and quickly. The stools are fantastic and are built to last. The store itself is spacious and features all kinds of stools, chairs and tables and they are in all kinds of price ranges, from double digits to triple and possibly quadruple digits. There's literally hundreds of individual items in the store in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors - it's actually pretty neat to walk around the store and peruse through it all. It's also very well kept and clean. While I didn't originally check Yelp for reviews, I was shocked to see two 1 star ratings. I'm not sure why - we had no complaints and happily left. We would most definitely return there if we ever need any more chairs or stools. No complaints, just great service and prices. read more

I was in the market for a dining room set. I visited Chair Fair in Weymouth MA. They had a huge inventory of sets to choose from. I spotted a set that appealed to me that happened to be on sale. I was concerned about the color of the table legs and chairs - pure white. They offered to see if other color combinations were available. They found other color options, including one I really liked. I purchased the set and it was just delivered. Looks great. read more

I just emailed this to Chair Fair regarding my great experience there: On Jan 5 2017 I ordered two tables from Chair Fair's Weymouth store. I recall the salesman's name was Mike, and he was very helpful. I was given a 4-6 week delivery timeframe. As we were approaching the 6 week point, I called the store to check the delivery status, because I'd recently been scheduled for surgery at the end of week 6, and I was concerned I might not be available at delivery time. These tables were for my office where I work. I spoke with Janet on Monday, and she was extremely kind and helpful. When I told her my concern, she took the time togo check if the tables had been delivered, found they were in the warehouse, and called me back. She said delivery would make me a priority. Scott from delivery called me that afternoon and scheduled a delivery the very next day, which was yesterday. Scott was great, too, and thanked me for shopping at Chair Fair when he left. I just wanted to thank you for the great service. From Mike in sales, to Janet on the phone, to Scott with delivery, everyone was great. And I am so appreciative that they were understanding of my upcoming medical situation and helped get delivery taken care of a little early. The tables look great in my office, too!
