When I first contracted with this company 8 months ago, they had good reviews on Yelp. Now that I am ready to leave my own review I see my experience reflected in the other reviews. Last spring and summer I started to see termite activity in a corner of my home and called Clark Pest Control. Their sales person was really very nice and very sincerly made promises that I found out later the company had no intention of keeping. He sold me on installing termote traps around my home and told me that a technician would come once each month to check on them and replace the bait if needed. He said that I did not need to be at home for this inspection, and that I would receive a report every time an inspection was completed. 3 months later I reach out to request my inspection reports and to see when the next inspection will be because I had questions. You never get to speak to your technician directly unless they are physically at your house. You only get to talk with receptionists who can schedule appointments but can't tell you anything about pest control. I spoke to three or four of these receptionists (all very nice women) who assured me that someone was coming on a specified date but then no one would show up. After two more months of this run around of scheduling an inspection window only to have no one show up, the receptionists finally put me through to the "owner." I spoke to this man for a while. He informed me that my contract only allowed for one inspection at the 6 month mark. I was very upset by this because this is not what I was sold and it wasn't what I thought I had paid for. I looked for my paperwork while I was still on the phone with him and saw that he was right. I had to wait for the 6 month mark, which was a couple months away. As soon as I hung up the phone with him, another man from the company saying that he was the "owner" insisted that I talk to him (even though I'd already been on the phone for about 30 minutes withthe other "owner." When I told him that I really wasn't in the mood to talk and asked him if he could call back later he said "that he didn't care if I didn't want to talk." This man was so rude and started screaming at me. I couldn't believe it and hung up the phone on him. I resigned myself to waiting for the 6 months to pass, since that is what they understood that I had paid for. At 6 months I made an appointment and the receptionist assured em that I didn't need to be home since the traps were outside. A technician came as I was leaving for work and I waved goodbye to him and he yelled back at me that he couldn't complete his inspection unless he could go inside the house. I was so confused by this since there aren't any traps inside the house -- what did he need to see? He informed me that I would have to call back and reschedule. I did call back and spoke to a receptionist who said that she would have one of the owners call me back. That was one month to the day and I still haven't received a call back! This company is straight garbage. Go, literally, anywhere else. read more

Have used this company for about two years and they have never solved any issues we had. The final straw was their last visit to remove beetles. The guy showed up and said they do not pose a problem and did not do anything and charged us for it. Every time Clark shows up The beetles multiply by about 1000. Pushy sales people. Salesperson knocked on my door and tried to strike up a conversation with me by telling me his trucks would be parked along my street tomorrow. He then trails off in trying to talk to me about the bugs I have at my residence. I signed up with these guys last year for a one year contract. First visit guy spent maybe 20 minutes and didn't spray for spiders like I asked. He used my water to water down his chemical. Wasn't happy. Several months later same guy shows up at my house unannounced, no text no scheduled appointment. I thought okay I'll give him another try. Again terrible service didn't do much. I called the Clark offices and spoke to some supervisor. They said they will contact me ahead of time to schedule and do a better job. Several months later same guy shows up unannounced again I wasn't home and my wife was in the shower he just opened the gate and went into the backyard spent at the most 15 minutes doing what I don't know. Obviously I wasn't happy. Again I called the service office told them of my dissatisfaction and cancelled my contract , so I thought. Jan 2025 same guy shows up again mid day unannounced AGAIN, but thankfully I wasn't happy home. I sent him on his way telling him I don't want the service and thought I had cancelled I then called the service office again and cancelled AGAIN. they asked if I would like to speak to the technician supervisor and I said yes. A while later I get a call from some supervisor at Clark's. This guy could care less about my complaint or issue and just told me that I have been cancelled and "have a nice day". He did not want to listen to my complaint at all DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IT IS PATHETIC. read more

My experience with Clark Pest control was absolutely awful. I asked them to trap for some rodent issue. They never even baited the traps and never caught a single rat. Then I ask them about spraying for termite avoidance. The employee who came to my home pointed out 3 locations that he thought I should treat. Then he sent me an estimate for roughly $1500. I called him to question this and he spent 10 minutes telling me my property had serious issues. I contacted my contractor and he said nothing was wrong and I only had a minor spray to do which would keep them away. It took me 25 minutes and cost me $100 for materials. I called the company to report this and an employee apologized and said to not pay the bill as I was ceasing all of Clark's services. Then another manager called me with a rude tone and said his employee didn't have the authority to not charge me but that he would give me a freebie just this one time even though they hadn't done anything but wasted my time. Then they sent me a bill. It came in mid June so assumed it was a mistake so I didn't pay. It was also less than 30 days old. Then I just received an email from a Collection Company threatening me on a bill that is not even 30 days late. I'm paying it to keep my credit clean but I want anyone who's looking for pest control help to know these guys are a band of thieves. Liars! It's a big company and I think this is how they roll. Ineffective service. Rude. Illegal billing. Watch out. read more

The Clark Pest service we have in Santa Rosa is excellent. We work with them by keeping our property very clean, swept and trimmed. We keep the patio blown off and washed - but none-the-less it's still possible to get mice, rodents, moles, rats, etc. Because of new buildings being constructed in the area, we had various rodents due to their displacement - with the traps, etc. that did settle down - Clark let's us know when they are coming, they leave a report either on-line or on paper at the door, and follow-up by replacing bait in traps. we've had no problems with them. Although recology wants residents to put food in the "compost" bin, we don't because it that attracts rodents. we keep compost in a separate closed, air-tight container until trash day, and only then do we put it in the compost bin on top of the leaves and yard waste. (Mice will find a way in unless you close up every possible hole - use screen on pipes/vents read more

Their service is ok but they make it a time consuming pain in the ass to pay them. Seriously. Every other service place has an easy pay online option. When you try with Clark it tells you to sign up to register online and when you try that it tells you to call them. I don't want to sit with someone on the phone to get registered just to pay a frigging bill. Just make a pay button on your home page. Why should i have to register and sign in to pay a bill? I was a little hesitant on Clark from reading the reviews but a couple friends of mine had great experiences so I decided to try them out. The initial phone conversation and set up was simple and the individual was very friendly. My technician Kevin kellough was very informative and direct about his process. They hook you up for a 1-year contract offering you a 50% deal which ends up to be the same price as their competitors. If you are dissatisfied with their service, they come again at no expense. However, there is no satisfaction guarantee policy because in the case that their service doesn't work, they did hook you up for a 1-year contract. I subscribed because I had a mild recurrent ant problem but I happen to purchase the pesticide and equipment, and did a better job myself. I called them to explain how dissatisfied I was and cancelled the contract. I got charged $185 for cancelling it. Some of the technicians were attentive and did a good job but their policies are bad. I cannot say enough Great things about the Clark Pest Control folks. Everyone I dealt with were competent and knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I've had the bi-monthly service for about two years, and it's really made a difference. I live out in the country so pests and rodents are abundant. I no longer have yellow jackets, ants, flies, mosquitos. I was then told about their pest exclusion service! Amazing! The inspector was very thorough and supplied numerous photos of access points, problem areas, some I wasnt even aware of. The person who actually did the repairs, etc was extremely competent, thorough, professional and extremely helpful. Once upon a time, many years ago I was a scheduler for Clark Pest Control. I would suggest the local area manager read the play-by-play below at your next "team meeting." It's really not difficult to schedule and honor an appointment. *MONDAY* 10:00 am I called CLARK to schedule an initial onsite estimate and get set up for a monthly service of a 4 building/5-acre property. I was told someone would call me within 90 minutes to schedule. 7:15 pm A gentleman called and offered me a 10-5 window the next day. I asked if we could possibly narrow it as I am commuting from 90 minutes away in San Francisco. He then offered a 10-12 window. *TUESDAY* 9:35 am (already 45 min into my drive) Get a call from CLARK saying that no one is available in my area and that the appt was made in error. Can we reschedule? I call them back and confirm the following day, Weds from 9-10 will be fine. Confirmed. *WEDNESDAY* 10:05 am I call to inquire where my technician is. She confirms I am the first appt of the day and will call to see where he is at, then hangs up. 10:20 am Still without an update or anyone show, I call them back to cancel. I told her if getting a simple appt is already this challenging, I believe it gives me enough of an idea of what our experience would be like if we were to sign any service agreements with them. "Okay, but he's already on his way," she tells me. I was "on my way" as well, at 7:30 am out of consideration for the technician were he to arrive at 9:00. A local technician should have been "on his way" anytime between 8:30 - 9:30 am. read more

Used my local Clark Pest control initially for a rodent problem and bug control. I paid for a pest exclusion and signed up for their bi-monthly service. This is supposed to monitor and treat pests as needed. So when bugs were still a huge problem and I got no proactive help from Clark, I got a second opinion. Whilst investigating the insects, it was discovered that I still had a rodent problem. Complete negligence and lack of care for more than 2 years from my service tech, has resulted in costly repairs due to rodent damage. If you hire Clark Pest Control and your service tech cares more about his time sheets than his customer service, your pest problems will never be resolved. read more

Do you get these folks ringing your doorbell asking you if you have pest problems? They are so nice, aren't they? The thing is, they get you to commit to them coming out on a monthly basis to rid your home of the buggies and things, but don't do the job! We have wasps everywhere... The guy who came every month would spray around the ground a bit and leave. The wasps were always back in full force the next day! I complained over and over, and he jawed me to death. we finally dropped them, but they continued to charge us. We called and called, got turned over to collections for NOT having service anymore, Needless to say, We were caught in a WEB that only a spider of their size could spin!!! I had no problem arranging a free inspection, and the technician wasn't quite on time but close. A few days later I called the technician to initiate service, left a message, no return call. Then I called the main number and was told I had to go through the technician and he would reach out to me. After a couple of days with no response, I called the technician again and left another voicemail. Still crickets. Couldn't be more satisfied with the service from this team. Skip does my spider spray jobs so well, you'd never knew there was an issue. Bob came & inspected my house & was extremely motivated to figure out all the openings that were causing issues. Jonathan followed through & fixed those issues like a pro with such a great attitude. We have a pest issue in our attic. A very talkative man from Clark comes out and tells me he cannot climb in the attic to identify what type of pest it is and exterminate it. Don't these people have insurance? He tells me based on the sounds I advised him of, it's probably a Raccoon, and they don't exterminate anything larger than a rat. I'm thinking ...a raccoon in my attic??? I called his dispatch to find out what I should do about identifying the pest and eliminating it. The dispatcher was clueless and unable to answer how I could get them to help me. She was even rude and said "well what do you want ME to do?" The SALES-man wrote me a bid for Clark to come out every other month and spray. SPRAY FOR WHAT???? These people totally missed the point here! I have an animal in my attic and I need it to go away! Signed up for the full service last summer, spent close $1500 to get rid of our rodent issue... found a dead mouse in our house last weekend & when I called was told my service had been cancelled for refusing service - which did not happen, I have dogs & they would never schedule just try & show up. Not to mention our first tech "Bob" tried to sell us another service on the side, said Clark was too expensive for our needs. Was going to reinstate our service but they were going to charge me for coming out even though it was in the agreement that they would come out anytime if we had a dead rodent in our house as part of our contract. I guess no current customers have looked up Clark Pest Control's number on Yelp and been horrified at the ratings and reviews! I was stunned, especially since the service is amazing! My service man, Bob, is friendly, informative, hard-working, punctual and goes the extra mile for me each time he visits. On top of all this, I trust him. He has a local presence in Marin and throughout the North Bay and I feel safe with him in and out of my home. He identifies spiders, tells me what I can do between visits to support the organic gardening I attempt to do (yes, I KNOW THIS IS PEST CONTROL BUT SANITATION IS ALSO NECESSARY - Our lone owl can't take out all the rats that scurry down the mountain!), and he even takes time to keep the "Mom" type knowledgable enough to protect her kid and is supportive in the quest by double checking for the scary spiders in front of the little ones! He is on time but frankly he can enter whenever he likes. He is nice to our large dog and very kind to the cat. Needless to say he takes care of several properties and we have referred him to everyone we know if they don't already say they have it "taken care of by this nice man named Bob". People really say this - I have heard it a few times! In the feedback I heard people complain about contracts - that is not my understanding and I just added a home and didn't know I had to do a contract - no one made me, complaints about dogs - long time customers should call the nice service people and make sure number/address is current so they can reach you since it sounds like your bills never reached you. I wouldn't give up on them but do hope they respond on Yelp to all these complaints! Bob gave me his number and calls my cell when I want to meet to discuss something and avoid waiting around even for a hour. So if I have an issue I can call service or my tech - I hope he takes vacations! He deserves one. Clark Pest Control has been a great service in my humble opinion but maybe it is my rep? Service is soooo important! I filled out their form on their website. A person called from the Sacramento area I think and said we don't service San Rafael" and referred me to their Santa Rosa office. A nice woman called and made my appointment for 1/18/16 between 11 and noon. I said I would like an estimate. At 11:20AM on the day of the appointment a man calls and explains that it is going to be $250 for the first visit and then I have to sign a maintenance contract at $125 every other month. Thought I was getting appropriate treatments for my house - especially the ant problem on the roof (ants were coming through the ceiling) - but damage was not taken care of. What ever damaged my roof - carpenter ants, termites, etc. was not taken care of even though the maintenance man came out every month or so...So iI just paid $1000 to a roofer to take care of the problem and am really upset that no one checked to see if there were bigger problems. I had a few problems with different insects- spiders,wasps, ants, pincher bugs and found out that it requires a one year contract. They come every other month after the initial visit which is 125$ then it's 100$ after. When I got the quote they handed me a paper but never told me a one year contract is required. I was just going to try them out with a one time spray so I set the appt for them to come back and do it that's when I was told they require the contract and don't do one time sprays. I felt a little blindsided, but decided to do it. I didn't like the idea of signing up for something not knowing if it'd work. They sprayed and I haven't had issues w wasps/spiders or pincher bugs but a month later I had way more ants than I had originally and now in three different rooms verse one. I am so surprised by the low ratings for this business. I've used Clark for 15 years in my previous home and this home in Napa and not for one second have I ever been disappointed in their work or their employees. Our regular service guy is Justin, who is always friendly and thorough and just today, Clifton finished rodent prevention on my house and garage. The attention to detail and his obsession with making sure any possible access to our home was identified and repaired was unlike anything I've ever seen. These guys are great! read more

Our service man "D" was great - - my main beef was that the home office charged me $630 for their "exclusion" service, which is an onsite inspection to seal the house for entry points. Their rep (not "D") spent 90 minutes here alone as we didn't have that many entry points and charged us over $600 which I thought was way too much as that averaged about $400 an hour for a few pieces of screen to patch entry points. I called and complained and was treated with what I would call indifference. I changed to another sercice that did this for no charge as long as we signed an annual agreement for service. read more

I have had Clark since 2007 from my home in Lodi and transferred service to Novato three years ago. This office HAD a great representative who came out and did what he said he would do, Sprayed, cleared webs and looked around for anything else that he needed to treat. I even had them fertilizing my yard to great success! Then somehow he was no longer servicing me and the service I received was as poor as you could possibly describe ever since. There was lack of notification of service pending, and they never went to my back yard because "Dog". With no knowledge of their coming, how am I supposed to have the dog in? So for the last several months, no service to my back yard. Now the kicker! Unknown to me there is two months outstanding on my bill, and I get a call form...... Not Clark, a collection agency! OK Clark, a loyal customer despite the decline in your service and now you don't call me about the bill! Let's just say, Cancel my service and I'll find a reputable company that know what customer service is! Your Fired! read more

Ok spent 30 minutes on the phone explaining my rodent problems the lady on the phone seemed more concerned with letting me know that I would have to sign a contract. I agreed to the contract and set the appointment. Guy shows up today must have been 70 years old with contract in hand. Had zero idea what I needed and informed me they do not set traps under house. I called them a few weeks ago to go to our tenants home and check out a problem they were having. They took all the information and were going to call the tenant. I followed up 3 weeks later with Clark. Not only did they not go or call me and tell me they haven't gone, the lady was so rude on the phone saying they only go out on a call if I sign up for a contract of monthly services! They do not do one time calls! How do they know what we need for monthly service if they don't even go look first!! I will never call these people for work and will never refer them! read more
