I am shocked to read some of these reviews, they have been great since I started about a month ago. Had a rodent issue, they came out gave way more reasonable estimate than Terminix. They sealed up entry vents and set traps. We caught two the next day and when I called they came right out to reset traps. We have contracted Clark pest control to help us with a rat problem in our home since October last year. They have charged us several times for their technician visits, since then they have not trapped anything. 2 months ago they requested us to take care of some small holes around the house in order for them to guarantee that the rat problem was going to go away. We hired a company to fix every single hole as they requested and sent them proof of this. The technician came and did not install anything nor take any additional measures. We just got back from a two week vacation and our home is a huge disaster. Now this issue has escalated to the point where I'm losing lots of furniture, clothes, etc. I'm hiring a janitorial service to urgently clean our entire house and I will lose days of work so this can be taken care of. I'm expecting their supervisor to call me tomorrow and take care of this once and for all after 9 months of their services doing absolutely nothing. These photos aren't the half of it. read more

Clark came to my house and sprayed chemical into my animals food and water dishes. I called the Concord branch and talked to Dan. I stated that the tech didn't remove food and water dishes and that's their job. He then thought he put me on hold but it didn't work because I heard him saying obscene things about me and my cats and told the receptionist to leave me on hold while he leaves. She then realized I was not on hold and started to back peddle.. I've never seen this kind of unprofessionalism from a company that I'm paying for... Pets are family,, Dan!!!!! We talked probably longer than we should've haha and wasn't just about pest control. He's so easy to talk to and I was very comfortable asking questions. He had an answer for everything. I called Clark yesterday asking for a quote on yellow jacket removal. There is a nest somewhere inside the wall of my house and the workers that have been working outside have been stung several times now, and I have 10 week old baby to boot, so I needed someone out here quickly. They claimed they could not give me an accurate quote on the phone, but someone would have to come out and look at the situation to estimate the cost. Clark has actually been out before to take care of yellow jackets for me, when I was under an annual contract for general pest control with them. I later canceled that contract because we simply did not need year round pest control, but knew they could do the yellow jacket work effectively, so I called them this time. Earliest appointment they had was 11am next day. Their guy gets here on time, looks at the nest, and tells me they need to do the standard thing (spray poison, fill with sawdust). Great, I say, how much? They want to sign me up for an annual pest control contract, he says. But I don't want that, I want you to fix this one discrete problem without having to pay you $600 for an annual service I don't need. "We don't really do one off services anymore. Well, we do, but it would be like $600." Why the heck didn't your person tell me this on the phone yesterday? "It's our business practice. They want us to get out their and make the sale." Unbelievable! What a waste of my time, not to mention the prolongation of a potentially dangerous situation. Dear Clark: your business practice has backfired. I will not call you for any type of pest control again, have published this review to let others know of this crummy tactic, and have hired another local outfit to do it for $165 with a guarantee of effectiveness for the rest of the year. read more

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. We had them come out in 2013 to get rid of a spider issue we were having. After a few months we still had the problem, it was getting worse. My wife was home and only remembered seeing someone come "Once or twice". They were charging us for not doing their job. We called to cancel service and was told they would. Now in the fall of 1026 I signed up with Credit Karma and it showed an account sent to collection from Clark pest Control. I spoke with Dan in October 2016 and he said he would look into it and if they had questions they would call back, no one called so I thought again that it was taken care of. Now the end of Feb 2017 I check and the collection is still active. I call Clark Pest back and he reads the notes he has and surprise, surprise, there are no notes of me calling back in 2013, but shows there were bounced checks. I just checked with Wells Fargo and there were no bounced checks back then. These people know how to work the system so they always get paid, no matter what. It doesn't matter if they piss off a client, there is always another sucker coming in. This is total extortion. The only way to get this off my credit report is to pay them. I just called Coast to Coast and paid it in full. Now lets see how long it takes them (##$%$@$^&&%s) to remove it from my credit report, I'm sure I'll be calling them every couple of months to get it done and they'll probably want more money. BTW, we called another pest control back then and they came out once, sprayed, and got rid of the spiders. Done. Clark wanted to try and milk this out to a long term contract, that didn't happen so they got as much out of me as they could, and then some. read more

They come out in their shiny white vans and act professional - and I'm sure they're well trained at what they do - but their objective is to drain as much money from you as they can. For a simple ant spray around the house ("If it's a one time deal - meaning no yearly contract - there's no guarantee."), the guy asked $350! Highway robbery at its finest. I purchased my first home and had a pest inspection done before closing of course. I knew I had Dry Rot throughout the trim of the exterior of the home and Subterranean termites which infested a stump the front yard fence and a small area of my siding. I was quoted about $30k by the first unnamed pest inspector. My Realtor warned me about his steep prices and advised me to get a few other quotes before having the work done. I had one other done which quoted me about $6,000, and then had Clark come out and do and inspection and advised the inspector "Roland" that I will need a quote as I am comparing prices for this large job. I got the inspection but no quote. it was rainy season so it was not an issue at the time. But now that it's spring I need to get working on this.On march 8th I called Clark & requested the quote for the work. I was told it would be emailed to me or i would get a call from Rolland. I got nothing so I called again on March 12th and was told the same thing. I had them confirm they had my email and my phone number on file correctly. Still I got nothing Called again on march 15th and complained about it. The girl I spoke to was very apologetic and promised to have Rolland call me. Still nothing called again on March 21st now pretty upset, and asked to speak to a Manager, i was transferred, explained yet again what i was asking for and made my complaint, I was promised a call back asap. An hour later another manager calls me, very apologetic and again I have to explain the whole story...he tells me He called Rolland and Rolland called him back but they are playing phone tag. He assured me he will have Rolland call me before the end of the day and have him email me a quote. 24hrs later and no call or email. I called Clark again asking to speak to the manager..the girl tells me she will have the manager call me..after I have yet again explained the whole story to her, now very irritated that no one made notes in my file. I advised her this is a very large job, and will be very expensive and I felt as if they were not interested in my business. 30Mins later Rolland calls me...I advised him I need a quote and have called multiple time..he laughs and says "well I am not in the office all week because I work on the Field. I tell him well I have been calling for 2 weeks...he says "oh really...well I wont be in the office again till tomorrow" OK now I'm fed up! He promises me my quote tomorrow afternoon in a very nonchalant way. I can assure you I will not be giving them my business. But I do want my quote. I should have read the Yelp reviews before going to them for this in the first place. read more

And now, she's being unrightfully sued by the worker. The representative stumbled down a few stairs and "hurt his ankle". After some asking, the guy even admitted that the ankle had been hurt from a previous injury. My neighbor didn't hire the guy. She didn't pay him. Our landlord handled both those things. The stumble was clearly not her fault at all. But my neighbor is having to deal with a lawsuit and all the bills and time commitments that come with super fun lawsuits. Clark has done nothing to try and stop this guy. Even though they're fully bonded and insured. They're just letting him scam my neighbor. Shame on you, Clark Pest Control. I have been a customer of Clark for approximately 5 years, and they are typically very responsive. Of course, it may depend on the tech that is assigned. I'm giving 4 stars because my old tech used to arrive to spray the outside of my house and would use his ladder and go into my backyard to spray (since I would not be home when he would come for service). Apparently that is not something that is the norm, so I was surprised to find out that my new tech does not do that. I work during the week, so I can't be there on the weekdays to meet someone for these appointments. They may need to consider expanding to weekend service hours. read more

Similar to another Yelp reviewer, I was convinced that we had an infestation with bed bugs, as my son was waking up in the morning with bug bites all over him, and he was the only person in the household getting bitten. I did an Internet search and sent an email to Clark Pest Control (Concord). I promptly got an email back within minutes, followed by call from Craig who came out same day to give a free inspection. I'm always a little suspicious of free inspections. Of course, they'll "find something" and do an aggressive sales pitch, regardless of whether we really had bed bugs or not. Not the case! Craig was extremely prompt, courteous and professional. After doing a very thorough inspection on my son's room, he determined that there weren't bed bugs at all. We were relieved to only find some some spiders that were able to easily eradicate on our own. It's so refreshing to find a company with integrity, one that won't sell you services that you don't need. If we end up having any type of pest infestation in the future, I would not hesitate to call Clark Pest Control for their services. read more

Do not use Clark Pest Control! They are charlatans. They don't have any pest experience and their technicians have no idea how to deal with pest situations. They don't show up for their monthly appointments and they are owned by a company called, Rollins, that is a sham. We had hired them to deal with rats and then hired their sister company, Critter Control, to deal with skunks and raccoons only to have them discover that Clark had trapped a rat who had been dead for 3 months without ever retrieving it. Yet, they're quick to charge over $100 per month for service. Their sister company, Critter Control is even worse. They charged $4,000+ and destroyed my front gate and never completed their work. It's impossible getting our money back. There's no customer service. I've tried to speak with a supervisor and no one calls back! And, to top it off they require payment up front. As opposed to other pest control services, they were able to schedule and confirm a same day appointment, and arrived promptly during their time window. During the inspection Martin provided a wealth of information and precautionary suggestions to help us eliminate any future pest problems. I have had Clark's service for many years and have been pretty happy with it untill last year when I had trouble with moles. It seems that the methods that they used to use for moles had to be changed per California law or the like, and they had to experiment with new methods, all the while I was paying for this experimentation. They came out when I called and did treatments, but I suppose that moles are hard to deal with. In any case, the good old mole(s) have done damage to the lawn and garden areas even after treatments over most of last summer and fall, with little success. Maybe no one can fix mole problems, howeverI don;'t like to have to pay for experimental treatment methods including new traping / killing techniques which don't work. Other treatments for insects, etc. were successful. read more

The inspector, Rod Treat, called a few hours before the appointment to see if I was available, which I was thankful for. I called Clark out to give me an estimate for a preventative termite treatment after finding that subteranian termites established a colony in my backyard tree... Te guy that came out was awesome friendly and cute!! The only issue is that they are trained to quote treating homes whether it is necessary or not. I was quoted $1140 (1/2 my shar of the mortgage) to treat the house. Later that week I had a subteranian expert come out, he said treAtment ifthe structure was not necessary! I have to let people know that sometimes it's better to stick to the little guy. Personal service is what really counts. I made and appointment with Clark to have an ant problem taken care of and was told that I needed to meet with the estimator to see what was needed. The estimator was on time and very polite, all arrangements were made for the visit from the exterminator. Always a two hour window for the appointment. The day of the appointment, NO phone call to delay or cancel. When I called Clark at the end of the two hours of waiting around they couldn't answer any questions as to why they didn't show up. We hired these guys to manage a rodent issue. They seemed OK but we were up for a really nasty surprise. I told them that we had a dog and a small kid around and we needed them to be completely sure that whatever they recommended was 100% safe. They recommended to set up one of those back bait stations in the garden. Well, they almost killed my dog. Somehow the bait from the trap ended up outside the box and my dog licked on it. Fortunately, after a week of vet treatment and thousands of bucks, she was OK. I called Clark to let them know what had happened. They told me it was impossible, and when I insisted, they came over and saw that the box was actually missing the bait piece and confirmed my story. The technician told me I had to call the manager, which I did. The "manager" asked pictures, vet files, etc., which I provided, and he started avoiding me, and ultimately never called us back. Clark never took responsibility for the fact they recommended a very dangerous substance, for what happened, and never did absolutely anything to correct the problem. If I had more time and money to waste, I would sue them. A few weeks later their collections department calls. Wow! Classy. If you care about any living beings around your place, and about working with a professional company that knows how to handle very very dangerous substances and takes responsibility for their acts, avoid these guys like the plague. read more

We had a technician come out to our apartment complex to spray the interior of the unit. When the Clark technician entered he looked around opened my over then look under the sink and said my house does not need to be sprayed although my complex paid for a spray. Then he went to the leasing office and told them he sprayed the entire house and left gel traps under our sink which was a straight lie. He was in and out of my house within 30seconds. He singed where it said "tenant sign here" and left with nothing done just handing my complex a 1500$ bill to look in some doors for bugs. Like many reviews here, I would give zero stars if it was an option. In fairness to Clark, when we initially hired them and began service we had a small rodent issue. They came out 3 or 4 times and handled it. From then on, we only knew they were here as scheduled because the tech jumped our back fence to handle the bait boxes on the patio and to spray it. We knew, because we have a RING security system. Fast forward to 3 months ago - must be a new tech. Invoice left on the door says Alex sprayed the front but no one was home for her to do the back. We never asked anyone to jump our fence. We asked to be called and schedule an appt so we would be home to let them in. The tech chose the fence method. Guess we now have a new tech. We spent multiple attempts at calls over the last 3 months - every phone # on the website, the number on the folder that holds the invoice they leave on the door...either out of service or NO ANSWER. Not even a voice mail to take messages. So, as you already guessed, Alex came again. Same deal. This time - I am not paying the bill. I am guessing they can report my credit. But I am not paying for service I did not get. I don't even have a number to cancel my service. Oh - and I went to their portal...and it says my account does not exist. I am happy some of you are satisfied. They need to contact me "yesterday" to convince me to continue to work with them So...If you have kept reading, you will note that I have now changed this to 5 stars. I finally figured out that we get our service from the Vacavill location. Albert was amazing on the phone. We will have appointments going further. And, our service will be completed this Wednesday. I can't say they were terrible but it is a bit random as to what you will receive for service since this company effectively contracts out the work. Mostly Clark is the sales arm from what I can tell. I called Clark on the recommendation of a co-worker for both termites and pests. They are timely but they do seem to overdo pest/rodent control. I contracted out for a 1-year ant/rodent etc. control. A very odd person came out, Jorge, who seemed to do very little work and tried to convince me to give him the keys to my house so he could visit when I am not there. Maybe he is honest, but I chose not to give him my keys. After removing the spiders and ants myself since they re-appeared inbetween visits, I cancelled the contract which they did honor. For termites, I am both happy and not happy. The people they send require you to have your 'handy-man' available to get to areas of the house that may require a bit of hole drilling. The guy I used punched a huge hole in my ceiling (not Clark - won't use that person again either for that type of work), but I do think Clark got rid of the one small area of termites with a toxic solution. The issue for me is they wouldn't do any other area. I called for a different inspector because I was sure, also based on my housepainter, that I had 2 other infestations and wanted them to do the same treatment. The second inspector seemed cavalier, not interested in really talking to me. He said they would only tent the house at that point which is basically impossible given my San Francisco location. He didn't really look so I don't believe him. Since I saw some termites flying around again, am here on Yelp looking for other recommendations. For San Francisco, don't use Clark. Find a more personal service if possible. At least that is what I am now looking for. read more

I had mice in my basement and it was scaring my fiance. I called a number of higher-rated places before Clark but they didn't get back to my messages, so I called Clark. They answered immediately and setup an appointment for Sat. When their serviceman came by, he kindly informed me about how he would address the problem and gave me tips and traps that he said I could use myself and save a bunch of money. He even helped me put peanut butter on the traps and showed me the safe way to hold them. They don't charge for inspections so I ended up getting the info/traps for free. I appreciated the service and quick response and might call them back if I can't handle the issue myself. Thanks Clark! read more
