Clark seemed to do an adequate job of routine pest control (although I later found out that they never offered bait traps outside to keep the rats from going under the house in the first place. We signed up for a free termite inspection and exclusion proposal (to keep skunks from getting under the house). They reported a loose toilet that had to be removed (and replace) to inspect the underlying floor for leakage for a fee of $990! By coincidence we had a plumber here to replace a water heater. The toilet was slightly loose because of compression of the carpet it was mounted on. Since the carpet was dry he merely had to spend about 3 minutes to tighten the bolts. They quoted $15,000.00 to clean out the crawl space and pour exclusion concrete along about 1/3 of the perimeter. I wound up hiring an exclusion expert who's doing the entire perimeter for $3,200.00. Need I say more?! read more

Service is fine. If you come in touch with David Fuller, just close the door and not let him in. I had called to cancel my appointment. He showed up and after informing him I canceled the appointment because my husband was ill, he said "at such young age you already have a husband?" Like I'm standing there 7 months pregnant too with my husband sitting right there on the couch. And I'm not that young. I'm 32. Are you kidding me? If there's anything more rude/creepy than that, it's a comment like that coming from a wrinkly old guy working for a pest control company. He obviously didn't amount to much in life. Bless his heart. Otherwise, service is fine. Solved a lot of my issues but any more creepy men coming to my door and I'm never letting them service my house again. read more

Don't use their service. I used their heat treatment for bedbugs. Their instructions of how to prepare the treatment were 100 years old, telling me how to handle candles and oil paintings, and saying, 'electronics don't melt' and even washed clothes have to be spread on the floor. As the result my room was like after tornado, they threw boxes and clothes on top of each other in the center of my room, and both of my computers, laptop's and desktop's LCD were destroyed by the heat, soles of shoes were separated, and clean and dirty clothes were mixed. And Bedbugs came back and possibly it caused to spread to other units! Basically their treatment was barbaric and insufficient. read more

Technicians are not trained much, they appear to be high school kids looking for a quick summer job. As a result, the service is very poor at best. I held a 1 year contract with Clark Pest Control (San Ramon, CA service area) in which they were to spray the perimeter of my home for bugs/spiders, and cover all rat entry points to my garage and home and to set/clean out rat traps (I live next to an open space, lots of rodent action). The bug spraying and cleaning of spider webs was fine, but after speaking with another company for the same rodent services I realized that at no time did Clarks check or block any rat entry points. All they did was put 3 traps in my garage and left. They didn't even check the traps during regular quarterly servicing! After 6-8 months, I finally asked the Tech to please check the traps (I had been checking weekly and had personally disposed of 6-8 rats during that time - some right after Clarks had been to my home). He found one rate caught but still alive, and another was just a skeleton! I myself had previously discarded of at least 6-8 rats during the year. Also, I just called them to get an estimate on doing a thorough job of rodent inspection, Trap and bait, clean-up and disinfect, and cover entry points.... the woman I spoke with didn't seem to know what or how they provide their services. read more

I have had Clark Pest Control services for a little under a year and the technician Jeff Beringer is a true professional. Always on time, does the job quickly and efficiently. Best part no bugs inside the house since I started the service. read more

Jeff the technician was arrogant and almost said get out of here...He didn't open the doors or move anything...only sprayed and done. I cannot believe they charge $300 for a service like this! He spent 8 minutes to do the service and our house has two floors and 4 rooms! It was my first and last time with Clark and I do NOT recommend this company. read more

Initially had Brooks Pest and received a notice that the company was purchased by Clark Pest. I had one service done under Clark Pest. I decided to cancel my service, but request a final call-in service that is included in my usual service fee. I was then charged for that service and branch supervisor claims I was due for service at that time and it's a normal service appointment. I am still going back and forth with this company. I do not recommend them at all! GO TO ANY COMPANY BUT THEM!!! Not worth the hassle! read more

Flea Extermination: I scheduled a flea extermination requested by my tenant in Pittsburg. It seems Clark's treatment was completely ineffective. My tenant was very unhappy with it; so unhappy that he called my property manager at 6:10am to complaint (*very forcefully*). When we relay the complaint of our tenant to Clark. They did not offer to recheck the property. We are now in the process of calling in a different company to re-do the treatment. Do not believe that "Satisfaction Guaranteed" tag shown on the Yelp web page for Clark. It does not translate to meaningful action. read more

Had the technician show up, walk around the outside of the house, he sprayed and done. A week later, we have massive attack of Ants in our kitchen... solution: ant bait!?! you know those lil square boxes you can buy at Walmart -box of 10 for 2$? yep... THAT was the solution. My husband came home, sprayed everywhere, calked everything, ants gone. Two weeks ago, Ants again, in my daughters bedroom and the master bath. Called Clarks, Tech shows up, AGAIN lil box of bait from Walmart and call its done... I told the guy we wanted the crawl space sprayed AND the attic in case they were in the walls, the answer: "oh, but that's not how we do things, first we do this and if they come back we can re-spray outside, we need to see where they are coming from...blah blah blah" basically not wanting to make the customer happy. Guess what? Ants AGAIN! Hubby comes home, late from work and super tired... he fogs the space, fogs the attic, spray the baseboards where the Ants were spotted, and the entire bath... done. Called the office to cancel the service and was transfer to a very condescending male who kept repeating himself "We EXPECT YOU to keep the contract for a full year!" but I am not happy with what i get for my money... "the tech was there 4 times taking care of the situation and WE EXPECT YOU to finish the full year" but... "WE EXPECT YOU...." he must've said it at least 4-5 times, cos towards the end he just turned up the a-hole levels refusing to assist me. Word of advice, stay the Fudge away from Clark's. read more

Today, worst first impression Clark, hispanic individual i dont want to say his name came to location, on spot not polite to family, did not even bother looking around stove oven, beneath refridgerator! he did not tell the family we first remove pots and pans, cups, lids etc. No one informed my family this had to be removed, on day of appointmemt he walk in and He informed as if in dictator statement "you did not move this stuff"! im waiting to see what statement stated on Monday appointment on his return! Update: 6-19-2017, this hispanic individual did not obvious look like he want to work for clark and/or customer service skills were absolutely unnacceptable, we cleared top cuppards and compartments, he did not bother looking, and did not attempt to look at empty area. This individual does not want work and would do anything he can to avoid it, we contract another pest control in which she was the most genuine person. Peace! read more

I bought a house in Pittsburg that had empty for about 2 years. The house has a horrible spider infestation. The garage is filled with Black Widows, I have killed 2 wolf spiders on my hallway floor and tons of regular house spiders. I signed up for the bi monthly service with Clark out of Martinez. They have been to my home 8 times in 6 months. My house is still infested. I bought a few DIY insecticides and treated one wall section of my garage. That one treatment with Raid for spiders and roaches was 1000x more effective then 8 paid visits from Clark. I also ordered terro from amazon and a few more highly toxic insecticides for self treating. Which work much better than what ever Clark uses. I suggest you save your money, buy a DIY option or higher a different company. Clark pest control sucks!!!! read more

I called them needing someone to come out and remove a wasp nest (being built) from my front door. The person said "well removing it won't solve the problem" and I asked "okay, what would you suggest, have them keep building?" He said that they could remove it but I would have continue to wash the spot so the wasps aren't attracted to go back and nest again. I said, "okay, then removing it would help solve the problem, so can you send someone out?" He sighed and said for ME to call him back in 20 minutes...so you don't want my money? I decided to go elsewhere. read more

Clark Pest Control did a decent job at my condo and their technician was quite knowledgeable. Unfortunately, their sale practices are downright unethical. I signed a one year service agreement with them which gave me the right to cancel with a 30 day notice. When I called them to cancel, the receptionist told me she could not process my cancellation notice herself. She would have to refer the issue to her manager who would have to call me back. Her manager called me back four days later and told me I did not have the right to cancel my agreement. He kept telling me that I had signed a one year agreement and they expected me to honor my commitment. This went on for five minutes with him first trying to intimidate me with his self-serving interpretation of the law and, when that did not work, by offering me reduced rates for the remainder of the one year agreement. Frankly, I would have accepted the discounted rates and stayed on as a customer if he had started with that. But his attempts to mislead and to intimidate had left a bad taste in my mount by that time. I cancelled the agreement and now I am Yelping about it. Know your rights before you deal with these guys. read more

This company is wildly unprofessional. Their technicians didn't show up for 2 months so we cancelled service with a 30 day termination notice. Not only did they bill us for the months they no-showed, our 30 day cancellation notice was 4 days short and they billed us the month we cancelled too. When I asked the manager why he isn't willing to work with us on this, he said it's because we took too long to bring it up. Spiteful much? Unprofessional and poor performance. read more

I got love for Clark. I knew what I was getting into and had a contact in the company to call with my initial consultation, so that helped! My company uses Clark, so when it came time to address some, Um, issues in my home, Clark was the company I called. Most of these Yelp reviews are for termites, so let's talk about RATS! Yeah, so we got a basement and it got rats. Or, *had* rats. Ding-Dong, the Rats are Dead!!! My team of guys (aka my technician, Fred, and Walt) is really awesome and the customer service here is amazing! From the corporate office in Lodi to my initial consultation, it's been very pleasant. Yes, for the initial inspection there was a little bit more sales-y talk and exaggerated talk about some of the issues, but part of what he was seeing was the evidence of rats past, not our issue at the time he came. I don't have major qualms with a little sales pitch, I really don't. He even sat down and drank coffee with me, in my home, while we discussed the rat infestation. I mean, who does that nowadays!? That is some old school S. You do have to put money down, and pay a bimonthly fee after-wards, but this fee includes a routine servicing and it seems reasonable to me. People seem to have an expecation of a one time service and that's just not thier business model. Listen, Just considering the alternative sends shivers down my spine, so.......I'm all for Clark! read more

Called for an appointment after getting several recommendations to Clark but felt leary as the Yelp comments are not too positive. However, They are super friendly on the phone and were able to set same day appointment - but with a 2 hour window. So 2 hours has come and gone. I called the company and the receptionist put in a call to the technician to see where they were...she said she could call me back in 30 minutes or so to give me an update or if I wish she could reschedule for another day. are you kidding??? It takes less than a minute to text or make a phone call to say you are running late on your 2 hour window, ridiculous!!! You are a service company, right? read more

I was using Clark for a regular service to keep my pests under control - everything was going ok until I had an actual problem where I was getting regular bites. I called them with what I thought was a very big issue - bed bugs. I asked them to send someone who specializes in bed bugs and they assured me that all technicians are qualified. The technician they sent did no more of a thorough job than I did and didn't find anything. I continued to get bites and called him back. This time he looks a LITTLE more and found bed bugs. He was as freaked out as I was. Not a secure feeling. He told me it was going to cost over $1000 per room and it was only guaranteed for 10 days. He also could not do the service until 5 days later. I found this unacceptable and immediately called Orkin. Orkin came out immediately and treated my house. They treated my case as an emergency and assured me that they were 100% guaranteed. I suggest never using Clark for anything. They are overpriced with horrible service. Always use Orkin - they are the best! read more

My building's managing company had Clark out to my apartment after an outbreak of bed bugs (GROSS!) They took care of the problem. My issue with them is that I paid $93 for mattress covers that aid in keeping bugs from coming out (necessary as we have a problem in my building!). The covers that were delivered had several holes in the seams as well as a couple of odd stains. For several months, I have been in contact with them and they refuse to replace the covers. Even after speaking to the general manager of the company, nothing was done. This is far from okay! 2/28 Update: This morning, my husband ran into someone from the company that owns my building. She asked him if we received our new mattress covers. He told her we hadn't and she couldn't understand why because she paid them for the covers. She told him that part of the service agreement is receiving the covers, not just the treatment. This was a surprise, because the company had charged us for the covers as well. read more

Bait and switch. I made an appointment for termite inspection. When I asked how much the inspection costs, they said that the inspector would call me before coming out and tell me. First Red Flag. Well I waited until the morning of the inspection for the call, and then called them to find out the price of the inspection for termites, before they came out. They said that it would cost $325 for them just to come to take a look. I cancelled the inspection and had a ruined morning. If they are this dishonest initially, how can you have any confidence in their work? Sadly I already have a contract with them for bug control. I am probably going to cancel, because I am now wondering if they actually do the work on a bi-monthly basis, because I am never there during the day. read more

Terminex told us we had termites in our redwood deck, and we should tent and fumigate the house. With hotel for us and kennel for dogs and cats, would have cost us $5000. We asked Clark for a 2nd opinion. It was earwhig poop, not termites. And we don't need to do anything. read more

This is based on customer service. I would give less if possible. I spoke to someone this morning and was told a technician would come to my home between 1:30-2:30, no one comes. I call at 2:30, "you are scheduled for an estimate between 2-3... I can't get ahold of the technician, but he should be there soon". "I wasn't told that, but okay," I say. 3:18pm, I call again. "You are not scheduled for an appointment today, it's tomorrow between 2-3". I say, I have a message on my phone to confirm an appointment for today between 1:30-2:30. "No, she said it was for tomorrow." Really??? I was told I was wrong even though I still have the message on my phone confirming today's appointment. Complete lack of communication and organization. With respect to rat control, Clark Pest Control does not offer the services we need and appears to also have a technology problem. We have been using them for months under a year-long contract to help eradicate a colony of rats that has been living in our attic. While the guys they employ are very courteous and professional looking, about all they do is inspect the building for possible rat entryways, deploy a bunch of old wooden Victor rat traps baited with dried cranberries they never refresh, and maybe tack in some 1/4 inch wire mesh here and there or stuff cracks with steel wool - after you ask them to do it. They'll tell you that maybe the rats are climbing your favorite tree to get into the roof, but if you ask them if they're going to put up a barrier to climbing rats, they'll tell you that they won't do it because it might hurt someone's cat. If you want any holes around old metal flashing on the roof blocked, they won't do it - you have to hire a roofer. Meanwhile, they have caught exactly zero rats in the attic & garage. We hear them almost every night. It doesn't take much of an internet search to see all kinds of more modern ways to trap or kill rats without using poison. Rats can be zapped electronically or be taught to feed from a bait station which can later be turned into a trap after they're used to it. Obviously, Victor rat traps, which have been around about 100 years, don't do the job. In my opinion, Clark management needs to invest in better trap technology and train their people to how to use it. read more

The worst unethical company in the World. I have a rental house inSF and have a management Company looking after it. In 2011, the tenant stated she saw a mouse in the garage and the management Company signed on with Clark. They came out and set traps and said they would be by bi weekly to check. I had them for 6 months and nothing was caught. I cancelled them at that time. Flash forward 2014. Same tenant stated she saw mouse droppings in the basement. Management company called out Clark. Signed a contract and they set traps. A couple of months went by. One day my contractor was at the house doing a repair. He said he say Rat traps in the garage. I thought, how can a rat trap catch a mouse? I has the management. company cancel the contract . This was in February. Today, April , I was reviewing my statement and noticed Clark was still being payed. They have not been to the house in two months. They kept the money and did I not say a thing. Contacted management company today and told them to reimburse me. Yes, management Company was at fault too but Clark is the bigger thief. Don't hire them, IMO. read more

And only came out the second time because we called and asked why they havent been out each week like they said!!! Since their intial visit we have had a huge outbreak of flies!!! Never before have we seen so many! Last summer maybe two flies total...no joke. Since they "sprayed" we have had tons of spiders in the house ( which in the past never had happened) the flies are out of control!!! Its like they brought all these flies here no kidding!!!! Just moved into a new apartment and had no problems with rats/mice until recently. After spotting a rat early Monday morning in my closet i decided to immediately call Clark Pest Control to take care of the issue. They were fast and efficient, and were able to get one of their inspectors named Zach to come to my apartment on the same day. Zach was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing. Although we were not able to catch the rat on the same day, Zach was able to come to my apartment again on Tuesday to set up more traps and did not charge an extra fee. Furthermore, instead of just inspecting the areas were the rat had been spotted, Zach went the extra mile and did a free inspection on the garage and surrounding areas of the apartment. read more

We had Sean of Clark Pest Control out for a termite inspection on my mother in law's home. She is a 93 year old widow. Sean found termites, dry rot and carpenter bees. He recommended their termite treatments for $1740 which we agreed to. He said the additional work for the dry rot repairs and to remove a pergola which had termites and bees in it would be extra. So they did the termite treatments on June 4th for which my MIL paid in full. But Sean has not provided the promised estimate for the additional work. He has not returned my MIL's phone calls. So we are left to assume the treatments worked to eradicate the termites, and we are left to pursue other options for the extra work. It appears Clark Pest Control does not keep its promises for extra work once they get your money for their termite treatments. I do not recommend Clark Pest Control. read more

We just signed up for a service contract. Creg came to our home for a BB inspection. He spent a lot of time and gave a complete inspection, including the attic and entire bedroom. He found very little evidence and recommended a 'wait and see' plan and will return next week to see if there is further evidence of any other casings. What a relief!! Terminex came out the day before and was awful. They barely inspected and recommended that i leave the house for 4 days and tent the house, all for only $3000. And all they found was one tiny casing. I am so happy with Creg and Clark Pest Control!!! Never use Terminex, read more

Basically, Zack at Clark is a real pro. My boyfriend, our dog and I live in a flat and recently found out that we have a fourth roommate. A jumbo sized rat. Honestly, I can juggle snakes and spider, but RATS?!!!!...... I can't even think about them without shivering. We got Zack from Clark to check out the situation. He was prompt, thorough, communicative, knew where to look for signs of rodents and gave us options for dealing with the problem. He was sensitive to the fact that we have a sweet little dog and also recommended things that we could do to our backyard to minimize exterior habitats. Zack put our minds at ease and was a pleasure to meet. read more

Zach gets the job done! Zach helped me and my gf out back in June of this year but I didn't sign up with Yelp yet so am only posting now. My gf was freaking out when she saw those nuggets of horror. Mouse poop. Not to mention the squeals... We then did what others would do, buy the good ol mousetraps from walgreens and hope for the best. Well, they didn't work so checked on yelp, saw that a few girls were comforted by clark, so figured that they should work for the gf, and it did! Zach came out the very next day. Used special mousetraps, special mouse bait, poison (which does not cause the mouse to die in your living area, usually in the walls or back somewhere out of sight) He also schooled us on how the mice behave, how they think and why their traps are effective. Very cool, laid back and helpful. Now, they do recommend that they come back out on a monthly basis which we did NOT sign up for and he gave very good reasons why and explained that if we didn't problem may appear again in the future. (usually something to do with the house/structure/layout itself) I swear the next day, the sounds stopped, no more new poop. GF relieved with peace of mind. But, I'd say about 3 to 4 months later, heard a new noise so keep in mind, Clark will fix the problem, but unless you do what they recommend, problem may reappear. We're moving so it's out landlord's problem at this point. (on an off-note, landlord had initially blamed my gf and her roomate for the mice but when Clark came out, they pointed out that landlord actually knew about problem and showed us the areas where mice usually come in. Lo and behold, a year old mousetrap WITH A DEAD MOUSE! so if your landlord is blaming you, clark may help you prove that your landlord knew all along there might be a problem) read more

After seeing rodent droppings and trying the DIY approach for 2 months, it was time to call in professional help. I asked for Zack (based on other Yelp reviews) and he came out within 2 days of my call. He was professional, on-time, and patient. Robert has been incredibly responsive and immensely helpful, even though I haven't even hired him for any service! But you can bet that the first time I need pest service, Clarks will be the first place I call. I was inspecting a house that I am interested in buying and Robert came out and conducted a free inspection. He didn't find anything serious, so we didn't need to hire Clarks for any services. However, over the next week, I had a few additional questions about some bugs I found under boxes, etc, so I contacted Robert to follow up multiple times, and he has been incredibly helpful, responding to all of my (incessant) inquiries and answering all of my questions - he even reviewed pictures I sent him online. If there was an option for no stars, they would get that! I will not do business with them again. I had their service for years at my rental property, both spraying pests and termite stations. Over the last 2 years I have had to call the office several times to have the bill sent to my home instead of the rental property. I even talked to a supervisor in November since they left the bill on the front step of the rental property again. He took the account numbers and stated that the tech must not have read the instructions on the system for my accounts. (Passing the buck). I got a call today stating that my bill was overdue and had late charges. I called and talked to Yvonne in the office who stated the bills were being left at the rental property. She transferred me to a supervisor, and I told him this was the third time in the last year that I had this problem. I told him to discontinue my service immediately since I refuse to deal with people who can't follow instructions. read more
