First off Darren, Michael and Brandon are the nicest guys, extremely professional and thorough. We have almost 1/2 acre and they sprayed the entire property for ants. They used something different in the house and then something else outside and then had to come back even though it was a lot better we still had some on a couple separate occasions so Darren sent somebody out right away to spray again because they guarantee it for 30 days and again incredibly thorough. (The previous homeowner said ants were a presence every year) A previous exterminator actually gave up on it, which Darren was shocked at because he felt his team could definitely handle it. I've been using Detailed Pest Control for many years now. I can't remember how I found them but we have lived in our house for 15 years and they were the first company we ever used. I'm pretty sure they were pretty new, at the time, too. Darren was doing it all on his own. I love that they have grown. They honestly go above and beyond. The first time we used them, we had wasps coming in through the eaves in our house and they were getting in my kids' rooms. He completely fixed the problem, thankfully! He had to come back a couple times to make sure it was gone but that was all included in the pricing. We have used them ever since! They come every 3 months. Gilbert and his colleagues are tremendous. Always responsive on communications and when Gilbert says something, he always follows up on it. Always. We had squirrels and Gilbert and crew sealed up an entryway that had apparently allowed the critter to enter. He checked the attic and set a trap as well. After hearing a couple neighbors with rodent infestation problems, I reached out to Detailed Pest Control for some preventative work to be done to ensure we wouldn't have any similar issues down the line. Gilbert from the team came out and did an extremely thorough job removing the old wiring around the perimeter of the house and replacing with much more durable wiring to truly keep any rodents out. He also filled in any holes he found by diligently checking every crevice. Gilbert even climbed onto the roof, into the attic and crawled into the subarea to ensure there were no additional holes. When I couldn't catch a pesky gopher I brought in the pros. Darren had to come out and reset traps a few times as this gopher knew how to outsmart traps and set them off without getting caught. We had a huge ant problem inside and outside our house so we contacted Detailed Pest Control based on a recommendation by our neighbors across the street. Mike arrived on time and did a great job. He used non-toxic chemicals so I wasn't concerned about spraying inside the house. I saw a total of 2 ants in the garden after the first spray and no ants in the house. I haven't seen a single spider either since they sprayed. They have now come twice to spray the outside and there are no ants or spiders anywhere. They are also knowledgeable about spraying trees for insects and diseases. They noticed that our flowering cherry had a disease (I thought it was just getting old!) and so I gave them permission to spray it. The very nice woman who contacted me to tell me when they were coming for the second spray had all the information about our cherry tree and told me they would spray it again in the spring. They also recommend spraying our Crepe Myrtle trees in the spring. Although my husband has sprayed our apple trees for coddling moths in the past, we still had a problem with apple worms. I've been using Darren and Detailed Pest Control for over a year and have been extremely happy with the service. We have seen a marked decrease in ants, spiders, and other crawly things. Even though Darren doesn't do eat control, he has been great about filling my rodent bait stations that I previously purchased on a monthly basis. We used to have a rat buddy, Bob, who used to run across our fence line at dusk every night. Ever since Darren has been coming out, we haven't seen our buddy! Can't say I miss him! Our townhome backs up to an open space so we see all sorts of wildlife. Everything from Turkeys & Coyotes, to Potato Bugs and Tarantulas. I have a serious fear of spiders so I called Darren. I've had him spray our exterior and interior annually for years now and he always does a stand-up job. Any critter I do find in the house is always found belly up, which helps me sleep at night. If you have any type of rodent problem like I did, I would highly recommend Gilbert from Detailed Pest Control. I've always had problems with critters getting under the crawl space in my home from various entry points either under the deck or under the fireplace, and have had several different companies come out to trap them over the years. I've used Detailed Pest Control several times before for wasps, and decided to give them a call. Gilbert was very professional and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain what he had found and some of the options to help solve the problem. He sealed all of the points of entry around the perimeter of the house, crawled into the sub area to seal tunnels and wire the foundation adjacent to the deck and bay window. This option would prevent rodents from digging under the house from the deck and getting into the crawl space. He also removed foam that a previous rodent service had used because it had been chewed through, and reinforced the area with wire and mortar. He set traps and came back to check them regularly. After the rodent problem was taken care of and thankfully gone for good, I decided to go with his suggestion to clean up the crawl space, repair insulation that had fallen down, and ducts sealed in places where need be. In addition to his honest work and fair pricing, he takes pride in getting the job done right. read more

I had an ant problem exactly 33 days after they sprayed my home. They wanted to charge me another $85 to spray. They said it was beyond 30 days. We had signed up for a spraying every other month. Next one was due 27 days later but they refused to cover any problems in between the 60 days unlike most pest control companies. A couple of years ago Darren trapped a gopher that had been destroying my lawn. But it was expensive - $300 for the first round and $75 thereafter, before he caught it in one of his traps. I didn't mind the critter too much, as my lawn was shot anyway 'cos of the drought. Fast forward 2017 my lawn's back with the rains and so is the critter. I decided to try something cheaper this time before sending for the nuclear option. So I got an electronic, solar powered stake that chirps every 28 seconds from Home Depot. Cost me just $25 bucks. Tried it and the gopher was gone, after about 3 weeks of wreaking further havoc. The chirper seems to have done the trick. No pest for the past 3 months. Was it luck? I don't know, but it's sure nice to save some serious money! I haven't seen the device at HD since, and assume many satisfied users have bought up the stock. read more

I was very impressed by the service provided by Gilbert and Detailed Pest Control. His quote was very reasonable and scheduling an appointment was easy. He was very through in explaining the work to be completed and after the job was completed, he did a very complete walkthrough of the work performed. Several months later, birds had broken through the attic grates that were secured to my home. I called Gilbert and he came back the same day to address the program. He installed new protective metal screens to keep the birds out of the attic, and they did the trick. Mixed feelings. I think Darren is a very good businessman and his product works. I verbally agreed to routine spraying apx 12 months ago. I just received a call from a lady in the office confirming this spraying and I asked if it could be put off or skipped due to the fact that when I verbally agreed to routine (every 2 months) spraying, Darren told me that the ant problem would be under control within a few months and that we could then move to quarterly spraying, if not longer. I agreed to that because 1) I don't need another bill every two months and 2) I don't believe in spraying chemicals, natural or otherwise, until needed and 3) our complex has started spraying as well, for ants and I want to check what that schedule is. Ordinarily I wouldn't think my request would be a problem. The result is that she said she could put me off a few weeks until mid-February. The problem i have is that she said I had been "grandfather'd into this program" and they don't even offer it anymore. Pardon me? Legally, she is incorrect. I never signed a contract into this or any other program. I was also never notified that there had been a change in the program. The clincher is that she also said that if I didn't like this program that we would basically have to "part ways". That to me says "we don't value you as a customer anymore". This is not good business practice. I was very polite to her but feel the communication regarding this "grandfathering contract" has been neither clear nor professional. read more

One day, I noticed out of the corner of my eye, something flit across my floor. Then, a moment late, I noticed a rat peeking at me around a corner. A neighbor had been doing some remodeling and uncovered a rat's nest. The rats went scurrying through the neighborhood and one took up residence at my house. We tried to catch it on our own, but the rat was "trap smart" and would take the bait but avoid getting trapped. When I started to hear the rat in the walls, I knew I had to call for help. I talked with Gilbert over the phone and explained what was going on. He explained that he would come out to the house, check for any places where a rat might be getting in, seal any holes, and set traps. He gave me a quote and I agreed. Shortly thereafter, he came out and inspected my home from the outside as well as checking the attic space, the foundation, and inspecting the area under the house. He sealed the places where a rat might be getting in. He set traps and told me what to expect over the next couple of days. Two days later, I heard the trap snap and well, the rat problem was no more. Turns out it was just the one rat in the house. Was so grateful for Gilbert's expertise in this area. And, the thing that was really great was that Gilbert called to check in with me the day after he'd been to the house and again a couple days later. Drinking ants from my water on my nightstand in the middle of the night half asleep grossed me out but I still didn't call. Finding ants in my coffee machine, NOW you have crossed the line you insect scum! Called Darren and he picked up. Within an hour he was at my house! The week before his wedding no less! Before the coffee machine and the nightstand water, they were in the master bath, kids bath, door areas, walls, etc..... Waited to post this review to see if he actually got rid of the ants and he did! Have not had one ant since! Thank you Darren! And congrats on getting married! Side notes : He did spray inside my home. I am SUPER paranoid of that because of my three small children but not only was it odorless it was water based so within minutes it was dry. He also said he would most likely only have to do it once since he also removed wall sockets and dumped stuff in there since the ants were most likely in the walls.....GROSS. When he was outside he was careful about my kids toys and also looked around for other insects, wasps, etc. The stuff outside did have smell but it was gone within 15 minutes. You can only smell it if you are outside where it was sprayed. I did not smell it inside my home at any point. read more
