Well, we've been here waiting for our food. Everyone around us has gotten their food except for us. It's been about a hour waiting. The gentleman giving us our drinks has been great constantly refilling our drinks.. and oh hey as soon as I'm posting this our food arrives. Guess we'll try the food now. Well at least the food was good.. This place was interesting.. definitely not a place I'll be going back to. read more

This place is not to be missed! My husband had found this place on trip advisor and I also looked it up on yelp... We were not disappointed! On our 4 day trip we came here twice! I had the breakfast sandwich both time and enjoyed every bite! My husband got an omelette with banana pecan pancakes the first time and then got the breakfast burrito on the second trip! (we shared the same pancakes the second time around!) everything was delicious! On the first trip, my husband called ahead of time to see what time they stopped serving breakfast and CJ himself said that they normally don't serve breakfast on the week days but that they would do it anyway cause it hadn't been busy! The servers were all friendly and the experience was great all around! Btw guy fieri might need to visit this diner! All the locals seem to know how great it is! read more

Great little cafe' with friendly staff and yummy food. My boyfriend and I have only tried their breakfasts there, but we were both very happy with it. I love the old movies they have playing too. read more

Came for breakfast at 12:30. Place closes at 2, and the breakfast crowd was starting to file out. No wait to sit, friendly and quick staff. Food a little slow rolling out, but it was good. Got the cheese and mushroom omelet. Food portions are in line with what you would expect- not over the top large or small. $30 for me and my wife read more

Good quality food and reasonable prices. Called in order from local hotel and was ready on time. Staff is courteous as well. Would def eat again when vacationing in palm desert. read more

Kids didn't complain but I wouldn't return. Food was not hot, neither was the coffee. Prices are definitely not one $. Kids breakfast is $7.95. read more

Our company likes to eat here because it's close to the office however after the last few visits we might have to find a new diner. Customer service is a no-go. The workers seem unhappy and unpleasant. They seem to only be attentive when you don't need anything but otherwise avoid tables and walk briskly from front to back. The owners are very kind and apologetic on behalf of their employees and genuinely care about their customers satisfaction. read more

Came here two days in a row. For breakfast and lunch. Lunch was a normal menu of food, but it was quite good and better then what you would expect from a local diner. The atmosphere is what you would expect in Palm Desert and at a diner... An older crowd. The waitstaff was fairly attentive and got all of our orders correct. Breakfast was also good. Best thing about this place though is the diner prices! The food is a great bang for your buck. Almost forgot to mention the blueberry muffin we had. Looked and tasted homemade! If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, CJ's is the place to go. read more

I had the French dip and sweet potato fries , very nice place and good food I would recommend it

Busboy from hell After being seated, the waiter took our drink order, appearing annoyed that we wanted to review the menu first, he returned again and when I inquired on the coffee type, he then became real annoyed and downright belligerent towards us as if he owned the place and we were taking up his valuable time yet the place was nearly empty. Then a waitress appeared and took our order, turns out this rude guy named Rodolfo who took our drink order wasn't even our waiter, he was the busboy from hell and customers need to comply by his rules or leave. He is the most unprofessional staff we had ever encountered and ruined our dining experience especially considering we drove 20 minutes just to try this diner. Although the food was good, we will never return after this experience of being belittled as a paying customer. read more

Small portions, $52 for 2 breakfast burritos, a waffle and an order of biscuits and gravy. Service just ok at best. Left hungry and do NOT recommend read more

Absolutely love this place! We stop here every time we're in town. Food is delicious and service is great!

Wow, hidden gem in Palm Desert. Great breakfast and lunch joint. Lots if locals which is always a good sign. Great service.

Please ask for Veronica. She is delightful! Helen is gracious and Raphael is attentive. The mushroom, cheese omelette and pork sausage reminded us of home. The grilled salmon and grilled veggies with a side of rice was filling and delicious. We will be back!!! read more

Lox and Bagel was good, the capers are a nice touch, breakfast burrito was eaten with gusto, and the hubs liked his meal although I honestly don't remember what he ordered. The only thing I would change is to seat customers with menus. We sat for 10 minutes before we finally just went and got them ourselves. The person who took our drink order didn't even notice we didn't have any. Other than that, it's a nice diner. read more

Excellent food - breakfast was so delicious, serving was great . This is a hidden gem .

This was a fun and impromptu find for us in Palm Desert! We were tired of hotel food, nervous about venturing out in COVID and Veronica made us feel great! We sat outside on the front deck, the food was yummy and came out quickly and it was exactly what we were looking for! Kids and adults loved the chocolate chip pancakes, the waffles are YUM and the eggs are great too. Everyone had so much fun that we went back the next day too! Highly recommend and this will be our go to breakfast place in Indian Wells. (PS. Thank you Veronica for taking good care of my lost credit card!) :-) read more

Overly amazing! Exceptional customer service that makes you feel like you're at home. The ladies that received us were very attentive as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. This made us feel very welcomed. Our waitress Veronica was very kind. Our food was tasty! Best ham and the best French toast. Will definitely come back to this diner! read more

CJ's Diner - Delish - Diners Near Me - Palm Desert, California

Dined here on the morning of Valentines Day. The service was outstanding, friendly and polite. Had breakfast which was good as it gets for a diner. The dishes were good but I wouldn't say it "knocked my socks off." I'm rating this based on the the customer service. A red rose was given to my wife as we departed the diner which was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend dining here. read more

OMG a great breakfast with a nice patio to have breakfast during these tough times. Great food, great service and it's cool in the patio. Thank you for being opened. I'm the guy the over tipped. I will be there twice a week. read more

Cozy diner, it was packed when we got here but we were seated right away. I wanted the French toast but the waitress said they were out of the bread... at 10am? So I settle for the short stacks pancakes and a side of sausage patties. Nothing too special, pancakes are pancakes. My mom got a breakfast burrito, which she said was ok, nothing too special, and the banana pecan pancakes my sister got was huge! The staff continually refilled our coffees and were attentive. read more

Lovely people that work here and the food is delicious. Great morning atmosphere! Definitely coming back here

Food was okay. They need to upgrade their water cups because they seemed old and over due for an upgrade.

One of our faves. We live 100 miles away and have taken trips just to eat 2 breakfast on the weekend at our favorite am dine spot. We love all of the food but especially the Monte Cristo. Trust us! read more

Very rude service. Waitress who was serving us would not understand that we wanted coffee to be served after we finish breakfast. She kept bringing it to get it out of her way fast even after we politely asked her to serve it after we are done. She started making sarcastic comments with her coworkers, threw the mugs with coffee in the sink. I look at it as intolerance to minorities. Very disappointed. Food is below average, prices are unreasonably high. Will not recommend. read more

i tried cjs on a whim because my boyfriends work is close by, and i pick up lunch for us for his break. this place is cute, homey, and has that good mom and pop feel. i've never sat down to dine, only pick up, but every time has been a positive experience. the waitresses are sweet every time, and i've never had a bad experience. i definitely recommend the turkey wrap! that's what we get every time. :) read more

Good experience but did not like that they automatically added 22% tip for 5 people dining.

Another summer another breakfast at CJ's. Took my parents along this time and they loved it as much as my family. It will always be a must go to when we're in Palm Springs. Corn beef hash, French toast, pancakes and biscuits and gravy. All so yummy. read more

This review is based solely on service. I only sat on the patio to have a cocktail. I had two large dogs with me. The patio only had a few patrons. I noticed some table way over to the side where we would be comfortable and not bother anyone. When I went to the door to find out if they are dog friendly, two employees came up to pet the dogs. They are VERY dog friendly. Sat at the table I had my eye on. They brought water for the dogs. I enjoyed a $5.00 margarita. Then they asked if they could give the dogs t-r-e-a-t-s. After a long day all over the Coachella Valley, the dogs were happy to receive treats. The patio was very relaxing and I thank my server and the ladies who all made us feel so welcome and comfortable. read more

Good service, friendly , great patio. Food warm, great tasting. This was a great recommendation from the hotel. It's right around the corner from the Marriott. read more

Came here for a quick lunch with a coworker and had their fried chicken special. We were seated promptly, friendly service, were attended to by others as well and not really overly bothered. The chicken could have been a bit crisper but very good flavor. Food came out very fast and we were back at work within 45 min. A very good experience. Please check them out! read more

We had a delicious breakfast here at CJ's Diner today. Pam was our server and was very friendly. We ordered the 2+2+2 (2 eggs, 2bacon, 2pancakes) and also the Omelette (jack cheese, bacon and Ortega Chiles). Everything was great! The omelette was exceptional and was hot, right to the last bite. Service was great. This place was a nice find, off the beaten path, and we enjoyed a quiet table on their small patio (this was during COVID). I would definitely recommend this spot. read more
