I almost feel bad giving this place a bad review... they are trying at least. However, the only word I can use to sum up my mani/pedi experience at this place is depressing. The woman working on my pedicure looked absolutely down and out, emphasized by her black eye (which did inspire me to tip extra). I know my feet generally have a negative effect on people, but something tells me that wasn't the problem this time. The woman working on my manicure made fun of my hang nails and told me to shape up and stop picking at them! I laughed along with her. She is probably right! But, I want to feel pampered and normal, dammit! Behind my confused laughter, hangnail hearts were breaking. This was just the weirdest place. The manicure and pedicure were okay I guess, but I walked out feeling worse than when I came in and just plain sad from the grim faces, mild ridicule, and neon lights. Portos was already closed and therefore couldn't cheer me up, so I had to walk the mean streets of Glendale in my saddened state until I finally got back to my car and went home. read more

I went to City Nails one week ago this Saturday. I believe the employees were professional and very efficient. I paid $15 for a pedicure. I'll be going back soon for mani/pedi, which is only $22.00. Yes, there place is small. Yes they have the bare minimum they need to run the business. That's what makes it so nice. The inside of the nail shop, instruments, and pedicure massage chair were clean. The employees were personable and the prices are comparable to the condition of our current, tumultuous economy. What else can you ask for? FYI: I rated the business 4 stars, because I don't believe anyone can find a person or establishment to rate 5 stars. I believe: Five stars = perfection; No one is perfect. read more

My first thought was that it was very clean and fancy looking. The place is on the smaller side but I didn't feel crowded. One thing I really appreciated was that they actually took their time. Everyone was really sweet and nice. They even gave me a bottle of water! My nails came out awesome and I felt like the price was exceptionally reasonable. Definitely give this place a shot. This place was just mediocre. - Staff was friendly, but they seem to have a hard time understanding English. I highly recommend bring pictures of what you want. - large nail polish selection (including vegan polish!) I got a regular manicure (no design, no gel) and maybe feel that that was the reason for the sloppy work. My manicurist painted very sloppily, pooling the polish at my cuticles then used her nails to ineffectively wipe it away. The top coat doesn't completely cover the nail, showing the layers of polish and top coat. read more

Got my acrylics taken (painlessly!) off, a gentle pedicure, and very pleasant manicure in under 50 minutes - perfect for my lunch break. Their nail polish is of good quality but color choices are lacking so next time I will probably bring my own nail polish. As Diana mentioned, they use new, sanitized nail kits for each person - they even used separate ones for my mani and pedi. Great prices and service - everyone is very nice. I have been going to City Nail for 24 yrs. I moved 37 miles away and still continue to have my nails and Pedicures done with them. Jeff does a beautiful job on acrylic nail. I always get compliments about how real and beautiful they look. Lisa and Lynn are the best at pedicures. They know how to trim and clean them to avoid ingrown toenails. I have recommended many Friends over the years and they have all left extremely happy. This is the only Nail salon to go to no matter how far you live. read more

They've done an excellent job on my nails over the years, from basic mani-pedi's to acrylic, gels, hand and spray designs. Yo can often get in on a walk-in, but f you don't have an appointment (especially evenings or weekends) you may have a long wait or need to come back when they're not so busy. I prefer a manicurist who is very gentle and doesn't over clip the cuticles. I tried a a few different employees here until I found my perfect match. read more

My nails are a tiny tiny bit uneven length wise if you pay close attention to them BUT the reason why i'm giving 5 stars is because of the quality. The woman helping me took her time and i didn't feel like she was rushing what so ever. My nail polish is extremely smooth with no bumps. The employees made me feel very comfortable, offering me refreshments, helping me with my belongings and even conversating with me. Not the type where it's being forced and trying to get a tip out of you, but genuinely having a conversation with me. A hole in the wall and not a lot of polish colors that appeal to me, but definitely a great find! The ladies are so friendly and gentle with your hands/feet. I also get my eyebrows done there, and they do an excellent job every time. The prices are also very reasonable. I think I pay at most $40 for a manicure/pedicure, eyebrow wax, and tip! I have been going here fore a few years and love it. I get my eyebrows done here and I love how she always makes them look natural and not overdone. They also do awesome job on nails. This salon is so friendly. Very clean and good prices. I am glad the workers wear masks so they can protect themselves from all the chemicals and fumes. Excellent place and wonderful people! I got out of work so late and called them at 8pm last week, and the owner said they would wait on me, even though they were closing at 8pm. He insisted that I come on over. I did, and it was the best nail experience I ever had. They are so kind and accommodating. They spent nearly an hour with me and wouldn't let me leave until my nails were perfect and dry. I will definitely only go to this place from now on. The best part - they are not expensive! I needed my nails sone a Gel removal and redo w a manicure. I walked in as it was pouring down rain and met Jenny. She was very nice. The salon started to fill up. She had more technician come in. I have been meaning to write a review for this place for a while now and just figured right now is a great time while I'm getting a pedicure:). This place is great ! Jenny is the best and so nice but I always receive great customer service from everyone here. I usually get a gel manicure and I've never been disappointed. Not only are their nail polishes high quality, but they always take their time and make sure the polish is applied evenly. My gel manicure lasts forever! I recently got almond shape acrylic nails and I loved them. They did them so nice and thin that everyone thought they were my real nails. They have massaging spa chairs if you get a pedicure which is nice too :) I def recommend this place! read more

City Nails has been my go to nail place since before I was born. I've gone with my mom to almost all her nail appointments and started getting mine done there when I was only 5 years old. They're so friendly and are so genuine when they ask about how your day is going and what not. I've been taken to two other places by friends as "spa days" but it's just not the same. I guess after 13 years as a customer myself I just know what to expect from them. Lin and Lisa are always there to help me especially when I have ingrown toenails they make sure they're gentle but still get the job done. Even living 37 miles away, the drive down is worth it, I don't think I could ever trust another salon the way I trust them. read more

Its a small place and very dull environment but the ladies seem to be polite if that means being completely silent the entire time? Or maybe it was just oddly dead silent haha neways so I got a spa Mani.pedi. and its like BAD... nobody cared to turn on the massage chair or ask how i was nor give any massage during my pedi. lets just say if your familiar with the salon Nails for U on brand ... the quality may be even worse than that place if you know what i mean. The cost was $15 for spa pedi and 22 if you do mani/pedi. I got a french mani and it was a disaster! Honestly I just didnt like the vibe at this place Def. Not very welcoming but also not exactly rude but they did a bad job... and for those who say that they use a new pack of tools for each client WRONG they def. reuse their tools and just put them in packs to make you think they sterilize also the lady doing my nails didn't even have them in a "new pack" conclusion: save your money and go somewhere else even if it means that you have to shell out a few extra bucks or else you will be disappointed with the outcome. Everyone is exceptional and makes you feel like family. The prices are great and they offer many different services. Lin is an amazing nail artist and will at least try to do whatever you ask of her, she always does a stand up job! I showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails from my phone and she made them look even better! I always feel so relaxed and happy after I leave. Was having lunch with my gf at pizza rev across the street. We were talking about how much we wanted to get our nails done on the way out and we seen City nails we went inside to check out their prices. We were greeted by an older woman who turned out to be the owner. We asked for the price of a full set with gel polish, she said it depended on the length we stated we wanted them fairly short. She told us it would be $25 for the full set with an additional $15 for the gel polish for a total of $40. My set was finished before my gf so I paid the $40 and tipped $5 as her nail tech finished up he told her her final cost would be $50. I asked why was her final cost $10 more than we were told by the owner. The nail tech ignored my question. I asked again why she was being charged 10 dollars more than mine and we got the same exact thing. He then called the owner and said other things I'm assuming in their language. The owner came and told us in a loud tone that she was charged $50 bc she got a longer length than I did. I put my hand next to my gf and showed her that the length was the exact same. She continued speaking the same thing in a loud tone and we decided to pay and leave rather than waste any more time in this establishment. I would not recommend this place to anyone, the staff profiles their customers and when called out on it get very combative. We live up the street and were planning on being regulars before this horrible incident. read more
