This place runs a terrible business. You purchase a gift card, giving them cash in hand and then they try to say it expires in 6 months. They have already recieved the cash, why would the gift card expire at all or in such a short amount of time. I would never give this place your business. Workers are also very rude when inquiring about this practice. I think it's also important for this business to know that in NY State it is illegal for gift cards to expire unless they are more than 9 years old! So if they try to pull this crap with you, you can remind them of that! read more

I was not sure what to expect after reading all the reviews, but my fellow Yelpers were on the spot. This isn't a bad place to get a pedicure, just low frills. I was the only customer there and according to their sign-in, was only the sixth customer ... by noon? The owner was watching videos on his phone and the dulcet sounds of "Law & Order: SVU" wafted from the TV. It appears there was one technician and they gave me a good pedicure. Who can complain for $30? The massage chair was good, but I couldn't control the speed or pressure. Again, low-frills but it was clean and hygienic. read more

This small nail salon is on the corner of the block, right on Hertel. It's really easy to miss if you're just driving around. I went for a gel manicure & regular pedicure and there are many pros, but some cons! The pros include the great price ($25 for gel manicure & $15 for a regular pedicure! Only $15!!) they're also really sweet, and do care about the service they're providing. And oh my god they have so many amazing colors to pick from for gel, it took me forever to pick they did a pretty good job truly and for the price I paid I don't want to complain. The cons are nothing crazy, just wish they took apply pay & had more regular nail polish colors. read more

I was a walk in. No appointment needed but there were other patrons. I think they have mostly regulars. Pricing very reasonable. Choice of colors limited but fine. I did not find it to be "filthy" as a prior reviewer did but it could use a broom here and there. There are sterilizers and tools used were sterilized from what I saw and experienced. The pedi was good. None of the "charge for extras" some other places in the area do. MC and Visa accepted over $10. No Amex. But visa taken with a smile. Cash tip preferred. They rushed me out after only letting my nails dry for 5 minutes, needless 0 to say that my nails wete jacked up before i even got to my car! They won't fix for free, want to charge me $5 for new polish. Nope. I'm fixing them myself and never going back!!! read more

I used to get my nails done here when I was in college well over 10 years ago. I had forgotten all about this salon, about 6 months ago I was driving by and I've been getting my gel manicure here ever since! It's not fancy but workers are nice, they do a good job and it's close to home so I'm happy I rediscovered this place. PS: If you ask the workers to sanitize the utensils they will in front of you which always makes me feel better. read more

Well, I was looking for a place for my gel nails on a Monday. The good thing was there was no customers in the salon at the time so we were able to get serviced promptly. The nail technician was not very friendly no smile or hello she was rude to us. She said we were talking too much. When my friend couldn't understand her cues because of her heavy accent, she looked angry and annoyed. The shop was not all that clean service was not so good. She answered a call and was shouting at the caller that she knew. I would never go back there or recommend it to anyone I liked. Bad manicure, unsanitary shop and the rudeness was not tolerable. The lady (owner) from City nails on Hertel and Traymore in Buffalo just seriously chased me outside screaming at me because I accidently took their pen with me. She then hit me hard with the pen and joked about it when I told her that wasn't acceptable. What the hell? I almost went to jail..... I decided I didn't like their designs and wanted to wait and make another appointment for another time, she didn't like that I guess. She also had the men follow me to my car and watch me and try to intimidate me. I will never go there again. She's rude and angry and if she didn't have guys standing outside my car threatening me, I would have waited for the police to file a report. read more

FILTHY..They did Not sterilize or use new emerey board till I asked them then they charged me, there is NO sterilzation equipment in there, she pulled out clippers and buffer from a drawer!!! I saw the one gentleman go from one person to another without washing his hands and then take the clippers that were used on me to use on the next person, NEVER AGAIN. I am a hairdresser and because of my hands constantly being in water, chemicals..etc, gel nails almost always just peel or at least chip off after a week. I have been going to City Nails for a few months now, and I swear they are magic. Yea, it's not the fanciest place, but really who cares when your nails look amazing and stay on? They are never damaged either. I usually go about 2 or 3 weeks now with my gel manicures. They are very reasonable (gel 25$) and so fast! A married couple owns the the place. They are very friendly and personable, and they don't push anything on you either. I would highly recommend City Nails! Pretty good Pedicures too. If I had to name a con, it would be small nail polish selection and the mags need updating. read more
