    City Mill in Ewa Beach.
    Fran C.

Shop local, and support local when you can! Whenever I need to do something around the house, and need some sort of hardware supplies, I normally like to give my business to a local company, as we should help local businesses stay afloat, as they provide jobs & support within the local community. City Mill is my hardware store of choice! Now don't get me wrong..........I do shop at Home Depot & Lowes at times when I am looking for something that City Mill doesn't carry, or if I am on da cheap where I wanna save a few bucks! Lol! I was working in Ewa Beach this past week, and I remembered I needed to buy something, as I was fixing something on our garage. Luckily, City Mill was in the same shopping complex on where I was working, so I decided to pop on in to check it out! Located at the Laulani Village Shopping Center, you'll find City Mill towards the opposite end of the mall (from Safeway) as the store is just next door from Petco. Like any hardware store, you'll probably find whatever you need here for home improvement, and I even saw that they carried some pet supply items, too! Got what I came here for, and I even noticed their prices for the item I was looking for was even cheaper (lower) than Home Depot, or Walmart! Shop local, and support local whenever you can my friends!

Email order confirmation and pick up notification. Note the time stamps.

I needed a shoe rack for the garage but, I didn't think is was essential enough to go into the store searching for it. I live nearby to the Ewa Beach City Mill so I decided to check out the online store and see if they offered pick up options. They do! With the new social distancing guidelines, they offer curbside pick up. You can either call to order or order online. I chose the online option. Once I found the items I needed, I placed my order. Within 12 minutes of receiving my order confirmation via email, I received a follow up email that my items were ready for pick up. THAT'S FASTER THAN I COULD HAVE FOUND IT HAD I GONE INTO THE STORE!! After receiving my pick up notification, I went to City Mill where they have designated parking for online/call in orders. I called the number provided, gave them my name, and within 5 minutes an employee was bringing my items to me. The employee confirmed my identity and order number, placed my items in my trunk without ever coming in contact with me. Service was prompt and convenient!

Service with a smile. Ewa Beach's City Mill is close to the house so when I need something quick, I come here. The place is well organized and even through not as big as Home Depot (I know you read that review), they always have what I'm looking for. The staff is unbelievably knowledgeable about where things are and even go out of their way to help. Example: I had a question about setting up my security lights and Jason went well past explaining by opening packages and showing me step by step how to set it up. This dude answered questions I had and explained things clearly. This man deserves a raise or a least a yellow sticky of appreciation. Aside from tools, they sell plants, wood boards, some furniture, pipes (PVC, copper, steel, etc), toilets, sinks, pet supplies, paint, you get the picture. Overall five stars. Parking is easy, products are priced reasonable, and the people phenomenal. Now excuse me, I've got a few DIY projects I have to get too. M

I went to Home Depot Kapolei, and female workers were right beside me just talking amongst themselves and ignored me.

Unfortunately when I walked their garden department they didn't have any. When I asked an employee for help he responded that he only does "Plants". I asked the cashier about purchasing the exchange tanks for propane. She had to call someone to check if they had any (although online they showed 253). She directed me to the self checkout at the front of the store to purchase and pick up. Cashiers up there were swamped with customers and told me they would call someone to help me get my tanks exchanged. It took a while but they finally got it done . Their pricing is inline with other home improvement stores on island. Nice store too bad about the service level.

We bought it 1 week ago and figured exchanging it due to defects should not be a problem. We brought the item back at went to returns and exchanges customer service. We were greeted and told it would be faster if we take ourselves and grab the new item then come back to do the exchange. We did that, then were told at the register by the same worker, that the item was not eligible for an exchange due to it not being purchased and returned within 48 HOURS. We bought it 1 week ago, brought it back in original packaging and with the receipt. What's the issue?? She called her manager MARIA to assist and possible get an override. We waited some time for MARIA to show up, and at this point we had a long line behind us. When MARIA showed up, she disregarded the customer in line including myself and husband. She spoke very disrespectfully to the other worker and asked if she could use a register. Which then she logged on and said "what's wrong with this one" in a rude tone. She did not help assist, and visibly looked like she hated her job and did not want to be there. In my opinion? You can leave sis. Don't show up to work in customer service everyday if you obviously hate your job. We were told we need to go through the manufacturer themselves and get the "approval" before we can come back and get our item reissued. This is bullshit lol and the workers here are a legitimate joke. For future customers? I would stick to city mill and Home Depot. You'll get top of the line service at other companies with the same quality of product.

Sign ups open the 1st Saturday of the month for the next month and are usually full within a couple days. What you get: a free kid sized Home Depot apron (just like the workers wear!), a wooden toy to put together, instructions, a commemorative pin, and a little certificate of completion. They have paint and hammers out to paint and put together the craft. We've been coming for over a year and we absolutely love it! We especially love when they have vehicles like planes, construction vehicles, and emergency vehicles! We also love functional toys like piggy banks and trinket holders! They are pretty well made and last a while. Go to the Home Depot website and click or search for Kids Workshops to see what crafts are available for the next couple of months!

They frequently walk to over to the right aisle or at least walk you part way in the right direction. They may not have as much selection as the bigger name mainland chain home improvement/gardening stores but their service far surpasses the others. It's a sturdy bucket and quite a bit could fit. I also had to but a large garden pot that was bigger than their yellow bucket But fortunately it was 15% off so it was still a decent deal.
