I came in here because of the pictures and reviews here on Yelp. I try not to base my review on just one visit, but I was very pleased with my experience. There are only two people that work here, one for pedicures and one for anything to do with fingernails. Because of this, I would highly recommend making an appointment in order to avoid waiting. I came in while they were working on someone else and just made an appointment for an hour later. I got a set of acrylics for $25. I also got a clear gel top coat for an additional $5. If you want complete gel color and top coat it is an extra $10. Design prices vary. I thought these prices were extremely fair. I was also pleased that Daisy took her time on my nails, making sure to be precise. I hate when nail places rush through in order to help more customer. That can definitely affect the quality of work. Both ladies were friendly and hard working. My only complaint was when she was painting my nails she didn't go right up to the cuticle so they look a little more grown out then they should after only a week. Also, a small piece of the gel top coat on my thumb chipped after just two days. I only consider those minor flaws compared to problems I've had at other nail salons. I have been trying to find a go-to spot for my nails for months. I have high hopes this will be the place. Fingers crossed. I will be back. read more

I've been to pretty much all the nail salons in the area (including Z nails and Magic nails) and this is by far the best place to get an amazing pedicure. The place is really clean, the massage chairs are new and super quiet. ANN does a meticulous job and as long as she remains here I don't have any intentions of going anywhere else. My mom and I used to frequent Oasis Nails (which is where we met Daisy who just recently bought this place). And when she left it was no coincidence that Oasis went downhill. She does my mom's nails and they always look amazing. So when my mom told me about Daisy buying Citrus Nails I stopped in and was really impressed. Today I am getting my second pedicure from Ann. I pay the extra five bucks to get the intense callous treatment ($40 pedicure) and let me just say that I have probably opted for the extra callous removal treatment at over a dozen different nail salons and always seem to be so-so in results.... until now (well actually both times I have come here). She has such an attention to detail... I love how thru the scrub process she stops to check how smooth I am getting and will continue accordingly. Too many places just scrub you for a few minutes and move on without caring. Not here. Great scrub, great massage, flawless polish. Last time I went with a dark purple and still didn't see a chip even when I went to change the color myself three weeks later! Great top coat here. I am also a fan of how quiet it is here. I have yet to see any workers here besides Ann and Daisy (I come on the weekends) and they seem to understand what a relaxing atmosphere is supposed to be. Perfection is the best description. I have never experienced such a leisurely manicure and/or pedicure complete with hot stones. The prices are very reasonable. In fact, I have paid twice as much for half the pampering time. Walk-ins are welcome, but there is no juggling in an attempt to squeeze in multiple clients. Love them! read more

Happened upon this little shop after my appointment at another shop wasn't honored and I couldn't be happier. Small staff so you might wait if you have a larger party but I think it makes for better attention to detail. Got an hour long pedicure and the technician made sure my feet were as good as new! Very decently priced, the highest pedicure was $45 which is almost half of what some other shops are trying to charge for much less service. So I called my bank to figure out what was going on they told me the card was recently ran twice and the first transaction was approved and second was declined. I told the store manager what my bank told me and she started to threaten to call the police called me a thief and a liar. Refused to return my card had to call and had to call have it cancelled. I am so glad to have found a salon so close to my home, where I can feel comfortable that the estotician knows what she is doing. I'm surprised no one has Yelped here yet. The gal told me they've been here for almost 6 years. (!) I came in to have a full set of pink and whites put on 2 weeks ago. At that time I was told they would last 2-3 weeks before needed a fill. One fell off 4 days later. I went back and they glued it, no problem. It happens. I am now at the 2 week and 1 day mark and almost all have fallen off. I do not work at a job that requires alot of typing or anything that would impact my nails on a regular basis. I can run them through my hair (thin/straight) and they just slide right off. I have called them and they asked that I come back and they will reglue them on, but frankly, I just am disappointed. Just got a fill here and I must say the lady was nice and very gentle and didn't burn any of my fingers with the drill like most shops tend to do but they didn't have many nail designs nor styles to choose from, they're a little old fashion compared to most. The first time I went there I was just a walk in and they took me very quickly. I have since been going back for gel manicures. Anh does a great job and is very quick. The only thing they don't do is a hand/arm massage (which I thought came with a manicure). I even asked for it once and she said she would, then didn't. So, I've stopped asking for it. Pedicures are mediocre. Prices are good. Convenient due to location in relation to my house. I will continue going there as a last resort. **UPDATE: I originally popped into this shop was because I was in a jam and needed my nails done. (I usually get pink and white overlay from an amazing place in Elk Grove, but recently moved and was in a pinch so I decided to try out a new shop close to home)...On this particular occasion I got a full set pink and white which turned out to be a complete mess. They were uneven, tinged yellow, you could see old nail underneath the new powder. The nails lifted within 2 weeks. When I was finally able it to make it to my preferred nail shop in Elk Grove and she shaved off all of this mess to start over. . .there was. . .wait for it. . .MOLD or fungus or something growing on my nail bed. After TONS of research I have found that it's due to unclean instruments and/or incorrect use of products. I felt completely gross and violated. I will never go back there EVER. read more

I had the worst experience the salon is filthy to say the least the work is completely substandard I can't believe she's been in business six years. I got a full set of very short nails and she had the nerve to charge me five dollars extra for shaping... there was literally nothing to shape!!! I had to guide her through the entire full set just to get a result I didn't want. Total rip off & bad customer service! I honestly feel like calling the health department on her. I came to Citrus Nails for my first time a couple of days ago. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and sterilization of tools. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. Henry was my nail tech for my fill and his wife Van took care of my feet. They are both awesome Henry and his wife have been my nail techs for over 10 years. My roommate & I were quickly trying to find a place to get our nails done before work. We've just recently moved to the area so we haven't really ventured out for our "nail spot" yet, & we found this place on yelp & the pictures were really cute. My roommate calls to make an appt for 2 for a mani/pedi. The lady says there's availability in 30 mins. But you know us girls, we sometimes change our minds so driving there we realized now we just want two full sets. We go in & say, "Sorry we actually just want two full sets only." The lady says okay & told us to pick our color. Here comes the reason why I'm only giving one star. I'm Vietnamese, although I don't look it, & immediately she tells her coworker in Vietnamese how we are two difficult little girls. I get a little iffy about that but I do understand, yeah we did change our appt. I keep quiet however & my friend & I sit & wait for our turn. Eventually they seat us & while doing our nails, they switch us back and forth between them. One lady was learning how to do nails so the other lady pretty much was the one who laid the powder on, filed with the machine, etc. But the lady who didn't know what she was doing filed my nails so short & it wasn't even the shape I wanted. So after all that, I washed my hands & the lady painted my nails. I got gel nails & while it was under the light, it got super smudgy. She smoothed it out with top coat but it was still a little smudgy. Keep in mind the whole time all this is happening, they're still talking sh*t in Vietnamese. It's nothing crazy bad, but they are saying things. So whatever, she finished my friend & I and we paid & walked out. I usually tip nail techs $10 or more, no matter what I was doing that day but this time I only gave $3. I would've not given anything but my mom was a nail tech so I have sympathy towards everyone like that. As we walked out, my friend who is also Viet says thank you in our language. This place has disgusting customer service. All I got was my nails painted, after an HOUR they were still smudging. I called and was told I could come back and get a refund, but when I arrived ten minutes later the owner argued and said I should just pick another color. I told her I didn't have time to deal with that again and just wanted a refund. She refused and then ignored me when I asked how much longer was I supposed to wait for my nails to dry. I work in customer service and am appalled that anyone would treat a customer like this. I will never go back and I will make sure to let everyone know how awful this place is! read more

So, I've been here a few times, nothing outstanding but decent for full color nails. Daisy, i think her name does a good job. But this last time I had a male do my full set.. I didn't notice until I left, but their were streaks all in the polish. Usually, I would go back but I didn't and haven't had time. The main reason I am giving low rating is because a few hours after my thumb started to feel swollen and tingle. It eventually got worse and went over into the next day where it started to bleed and puss. this is in the bottom corner of my nail. It eventually went away a few days later but It was painful and uncomfortable. I also heard another lady come in and have a similar problem.. Maybe they need to clean their tools better..? I'm not sure. OH and this was about a week and a half ago... two of my nails have fallen off. read more

This was my first time at this nail place and it was very pleasant. I first walked in to a very empty salon and was worried but the lady doing my nails was super friendly. I normally don't like to chat a lot at these places which is why I liked that she was quiet and focused, but also made some small talk that was comforting rather than being in a dead quiet place. She was even talking to my dad lol. Nails turned out pretty good, although I think they could've been just a bit better. I have been here a few times in the past, and they have always done a great job. Daisy is very careful, and very sweet. She even offered my fiance a pedicure, of which he politely declined. However, there are a few reasons I only gave 3 stars. 1: she cut my fingers with her files 2: the cross talk in Vietnamese is awkward and kinda rude. Technician was very attentive to detail and went above and beyond vs previous experiences of mine. Lots of colors to choose from ( I did a gel manicure) their UV light stung a bit more than I've experienced before and the AC either wasn't working or wasn't on. It was a bit warm. I visited Citrus Nails yesterday (9/16/12) for the first time with my daughters (10 and 15). There was no wait when we arrived (around 10:30am.) We were seated right away and our pedicures were started. We sat in comfortable, clean spa chairs and soaked our feet in warm, bubbly water. I had a young man work on my feet (and boy did my feet ever need a pedicure!) He gave me a total foot and calf massage that felt so good. He took his sweet time on each foot/leg. Spent about 15 minutes each. Lots of lotion was used and he just felt like he knew what he was doing.Then he worked on my hands. Again, he took his time massaging my hands and arm. I was so relaxed! I was very impressed. Me and my daughters were very happy with our pedicures and manicures. Lucy even gave my 10 year old daughter free flower designs on her toes and nails! I paid $55 for both me and my 10 year old ($30 for me and $25 for her) which I think is reasonable. I would definitely return with my girls for another nail spa day. read more
