Tried this milk tea shop recently and ordered two Christmas special drinks along with an oolong milk tea. The seasonal drinks were well executed--festive without being overly sweet, and you could tell some thought went into the flavor combinations rather than just adding syrup. We didn't plan to get some drinks since we just had dinner and drinks somewhere else, but then I saw their Double durian looks good and had good reviews. So we order the durian and also some promo about get another drinks free. We order this "Lychee fermented rice & Osmanthus oolong tea" despite the long name, this is the best drink for the night. The double durian is quite a disappointment because, the durian meat at the bottom is about 1 small tea spoon and the icee is too water down no creaminess or no milk at all. Staff are nice with little english the 2 that we interacted. That's not a problem at all we just want to know their favorite drinks. Ambiance and decor is the reason why I am intrigued to walked in because they have about 4-5 Be@rbricks which collected the small size of them way back in the days in late 90's at Comic Con SDCC. Known for their fresh fruit teas and drinks, as well as their aesthetic interior and the fact that you can add CBD as a topping to their drinks (at least for their SGV location the last time I visited), Citea has opened a location in Rowland Heights! They're located in that unfortunately fisted Galleria market plaza with Yoshinoya and Pizza Chicken Love Letter, so just know that parking can get ugly, even with the spots in the back. It took over the spot where another boba place fell ages ago and now this plaza has...I think 3+ boba places? It's gonna be tough competition for sure. We ordered to drink at home and they had a deal where it was BOGO free for 2 of the same drink (ordered via Uber Eats). We got the: 1) Mochi Black Rice Mocha Latte: -This was the drink that we were able to get the BOGO free deal with so we got 2 of them. -It's possible to adjust the ice and sugar level so we got less ice and less sweet. -It has a heavy mocha taste to it that is somewhat bitter, but despite this and the sweetness adjustment, it is still quite sweet. -It also leans to the side of more of a dessert than a beverage drink since it comes with the really dense mochi and rice topping. -I was able to drink maybe 1/3 of one of these before giving BOTH to my brother who ended up just straining the drink out of the toppings since it was much too rich even for him to enjoy unfortunately. 2) Milo Dinosaur: -There is no sweetness adjustment for this drink, but I was able to customize the ice level to less. -This only comes in the large size. -Lots of milo powder on top and there's some fruit jellies at the bottom which I thought was a bit strange for a heavily chocolate taste profile for the drink. -As there was no sweetness adjustment for this drink, it was WAY too sweet for my taste despite being a Milo/Ovaltine/Horlicks enjoyer. -I did take a bit to dilute with milk to enjoy a bit of it, but ended up giving it to my brother. 3) Durian White Moon Light: -This comes in a large and small size and we opted for the small size. -We got this less sweet, but it was still quite sweet from the coconut flavor. -There's durian flavoring to this slush/smoothie icy type drink and a little bit of actual durian on top. -I'm not the biggest durian fan but my parents said it was alright, but wished there was more real durian to it haha. Overall a kinda mediocre experience unfortunately. Maybe it would have been better if I just stuck to their fruit drinks. Next time potentially. read more

Ordered online and the drinks were ready when I arrived. The entire time I was there chilling I noticed that most orders come from online so I recommend doing that. I enjoyed the dragon fruit yogurt drink but mine wasn't blended as well as I would like. I gave it a few stirs and it was to more to my liking. I don't know if that's the way it's prepared or if it's because they were swamped with orders. They have fridges with ready made drinks and other items. For those items you pay via a QR code. Inside they have self service machines to order if you choose to order in the store. read more

This is in a very busy plaza full of other boba tea competitors but this stood out to me since they advertised DURIAN smoothies! I definitely had to try it. At $9, this was definitely a very pricy smoothie and I wish they had added more durian chunks in it. The space is very bright and clean with a good amount of seating. read more

We used to drive to Westminster to Brodard restaurant for durian shake which has lately been a bit watered down. There are large chunks of durian pieces in the shake at Citeadrinks. Citeadrinks is my new go to spot for a refreshing drink. I went here after work to treat myself after a long day. This spot is located in the same parking lot as Yoshinoya and the Galleria market. So if you live around here , you already know how full this parking lot gets. I arrived here a little before 6 pm , and there was still some parking spaces left. So if you want to avoid hunting for parking , then arrive way before meal times . In my first visit, I ordered the Avocado Kale Pistachio smoothie. I really enjoyed this drink because it had a healthy sweet flavor. I especially liked having chunks of pistachio with every sip. There are many more drinks in the menu that I am interested in. I plan on coming back here soon . Service was great! The lady greeted me right when I walked through the door. Ordering was fast and easy through the kiosk. The Avostrawberry Sweet Dew, a combination of strawberry and avocado, is also excellent. Both drinks are made with real fruits and have minimal artificial sweeteners or jam, which I really appreciated. However, the shop's interior could use some improvement. Really surprised by the low rating, unique hard to find teas that do live up to expectations. Had the dancong duck lime tea and red jade milk tea, both are so interesting in a good way. They due take a bit longer than a usual grab and go tea drink but I appreciate that because you can tell in their quality that it is well worth the extra MINUTE (these comments on waiting are dramatic). I get why my cousin loves this drink so much now; the oolong flavor is super strong and way better than most other boba shops. This is my second visit. Drinks are unique and tasty. There are self order kiosks but you can also order at the counter. I like how many drinks list the calories, I wish more drink places did that. Both times I came it was pretty empty even though it's a big space with ample seating. Maybe it was the times I came? Got the Uji Matcha with less sugar, tasted grassy. The drink that makes you "skinny" was refreshing, the durian smoothie was surprisingly good and they aren't kidding when they say it's generous in its portion of durian! Beware of rude customer service and a long wait for your drinks. They mainly get online orders so even if the store looks empty, be ready to wait for your drinks. Also, if you order on the kiosk in store, and you add a topping, they will BLAME you for not notifying them in person even though there are NO SIGNS that will tell you to do so even if you paid for it on the kiosk. We ordered three drinks, two with added toppings and wrote it in the notes where we wanted the toppings because there is no option to add the toppings to the drink specifically. You have to add it at the very bottom of the entire menu. However when we went up to ask them about the toppings after getting the drinks, she rudely told us they don't see the notes when the order goes through. Also, they handed us the first two drinks and didn't tell us our third drink was still in the works until we asked them where it was. It would've been okay if they offered to remake the drink or even apologized for not getting it right the first time because they can't see the notes. Instead, we were berated for even asking about the toppings and the missing drinks. She then offered the toppings on the side, but rudely placed on the counter (literally threw the bag of boba on the table and slammed the yogurt topping cup). Also, the boba they use is frozen in a small microwavable bag. A mistake is a mistake but for $1.00 per topping, I would sure like it in my drink since that's what I paid for and not on the side or in a small plastic pouch. Quite sad because their drinks are actually interesting and tasty, but with the LACK of customer service (this is not the first time I have encountered rude workers here and I communicate with them in their native language so we cannot blame it on it being lost in translation) and the high prices for the drinks, I hope people are a little more wary when visiting this shop. read more

Anyways, I got the duck sh*t oolong milk tea and my husband got the osmanthus milk tea. First, they ran out of teapots! The worker said they ran out and was not sure when the next shipment was going to come in. Second, I thought it's ok I'll just have to come back next to time to try to get it. But after trying the drinks I don't think it's worth it. The brown sugar boba tasted like boba you left in the fridge for three days. The teas are the only thing giving it another star, but even then the tea flavor tasted perfumed. Worst of all it was close to 8 dollars for a small cup sized drink with boba. Tldr: very slow service, expensive but mediocre tea, kinda overdoing marketing, imho not worth your time and money. Plus side is that some of their drinks may have lower calories than your regular boba shops. - Slow service: I ordered using in-store kiosk. Menu is straight forward and is easy to use. Machine didn't print ticket, and it didn't send order to them right away. It took 10 mins for my order to be received by front house. Mind you 10 mins processing is pretty long for in-store kiosk. Couldn't check with the cashier because she was busy helping others getting the teapot. Got my chowbus text so I waited. Another 25 mins passed and finally got my order. They didn't call my order so I gotta check it by myself. You could also track with chowbus text if you are member. - Drink: I ordered the Gardenia milk tea. It tasted pretty mediocre, like the quality at your average boba shop, nothing special. It's not bad if the price is reasonable, but consider I paid $7 for a regular size milk tea not including tax, it's pretty expensive. On the bright side, if you hate the sugary taste, this may be for you. My order had less sugar and it was much less sweet than other places. Their less sugar option is like 30% sweetness. I only ordered milk tea so can't say much about other items. Maybe milk tea is not their specials. - Overdoing marketing: they have a big print out instruction of how to get their mini teapot. Basically you'd need to buy an item (mostly tea/milk tea with a special designed cap), follow the store, post video, tag the store, hashtags, and caption the exact copy they provide, yes they want the exact copy which reads as: this is the best fragrant milk tea in LA (making it short here, the full caption is slightly longer, but you get the point). I don't think it's a fair review but consider that's how you get a mini teapot, it might be worth it. However, if you come for the tea because of the praise on social media, just be aware quality might not be as expected. - Staffs: seems friendly, but I didn't get a chance to interact. Lots of people wanted the tea pots and that took a lot of staff's time to show customers instruction and going back and forth setting up the tea pots. Just be aware that it would affect your wait time significantly if you just want your drink alone. Overall I don't think this place is worth it for me price wise and quality wise. Long wait time and mediocre taste are the breaking points for me. Or maybe I'm just not their targeted customer. I don't really care much about the mini tea pot. Ngl I saw it and thought they must have good tea. Some items are very low calories tho for anyone watching their calorie intake. Had the duck shi tea and milk tea. Got the large for 9.99 and it was not worth. Low ice option is about 1/3 ice and I confirmed with the barista that is normal for low ice. The tea itself had zero lemon flavor it was basically a mid level jasmine tea with a lot of bitter flavor. Got the jello option for 1.50 and it gives a tiny cup, about 1/4 of the option of others for a higher price.
