Gastronomia- Excellent. Probably difficult to choose something not wonderful here. This is mainly for the pizza crust. You couldn't even really tell a difference. Not us amateurs anyways. Service- LIGHT SPEED. That pizza oven is a quick in-out or you'll burn it up. Atmosfera- Busy busy busy, yet perfect. We sat on the street as reservations were needed for indoor seating, along with numerous others. Our table was covered and didn't have a silly parklet. That's just how they do it. Going to plop burrata on my pizzas at home now. And wish that venues were as GF friendly there as they are here. I was worried about coming to a country known for pasta...for absolutely no reason.
The best food I had in Italy ! I want to go back . We happened to go by chance after seeing the 3 tenors. Good selection of wine
I love that Italy has so many gluten free options! Ciro and sons had the whole menu available gluten free! The gluten free bread that came out to dip in oil was so good that my husband had to ask to double check that it was actually gluten free (it was!). He is not gf but he preferred the gluten free bread! We got a lemon apperol spritz, gf pizza, and risotto. They were tasty, but we wished they had a bit more flavor/seasoning. It's the first and only restaurant in Italy that i've had to add extra salt. The service was amazing. Everyone was so nice and continually checked on how we were doing. It was fun to sit outside and talk with others, it was a chill vibe!
SO GOOD! The staff is like a family- multiple employees take care of you making sure your meal is enjoyable. Their entire menu can be made gluten free so it's a great place for gluten free people who want some classic Italian pasta or pizza. When bringing out the starter bread they ask if you want gluten free or regular or both. Their food is amazing (gluten free included according to my multiple gf friends). The restaurant decor/atmosphere is so photogenic and fun. When it's warm they have a cute lemon themed place to dine outside.
Saw this place had great reviews so we came for dinner one night while in Florence. Ambiance inside is bright with an open space and beautiful. Food was decent but we had better meals else where. To be honest the pizza we ordered with the burrata had marinara that seemed a little watery which made the cheese slide off the pie and dough limp. The sausage pizza was tasty but mediocre. This place seems to be popular but I wasn't thrilled with the food. However service was good.
We had the pleasure of dining at Ciro and Sons tonight and it did not disappoint! The service was top notch from the hostess to the waitstaff. Everyone was very polite, friendly, and attentive. We started with fried calamari which was nice and fresh and lightly breaded. We shared steak Florentine and the rosemary potatoes. The steak was enough for 4 people (over 2 lbs. in American size). We also split a 1/2 bottle of red wine which paired well with the steak. The air was broken but the staff was trying to open windows and bring out fans to help cool us all down. The neatest thing about the restaurant was the frescoes on the wall. They are over 500 years old. The building was owned by the Medici family at one time. Make sure you make reservations if you want to eat here, as it get very crowded!
EXCELLENT! A must when in Florence. Food was absolutely delicious. We had the Mussel Appetizer, Caprese con Burrata, Octopus carpaccio and Steak Florentine
Ok second trip to Florence but our 3rd time to Ciro $ Sons. I can not explain how great this place is. Best pasta and best bread in Florence! Also pizza is fantastic. Great staff and amazing owner who has been there working hard all 3 times we have gone. Give it a try you will be very happy!
Considering some of the good reviews, I assumed this would not be a tourist trap. I was wrong. The restaurant is well maintained, in a prime location, and with quality furniture. But this is the extent of the positive rating. We had a reservation for two and the host was non existent for some time. There was no organized method to check in, and we were massed together with those without reservations. When we did get seated, the waiter was quick to get our drink and food order. We ordered a caprese salad, a daviola pizza, and a portofino pizza. The caprese salad came out within five minutes. The tomatoes and cheese were fresh but salad lacked any olive oil, vinaigrette or any type of seasoning. We waited nearly 45 minutes for the pizza to come out. I would have waited five minutes more if they would have cooked it. The pizza was undercooked with raw dough. The cheese was still cool in the center, the dough and pesto had little to no flavor, and the marinara was bland. A pinch of salt or anything would have went a long way. I barely ate some of the pizza before the waiter took it away. Not once did he ask the food was fine or question why 3/4 of both pizzas were still remaining. (He didn't even ask for a takeaway box - not that I would have opted for it). Overall, disappointing food, disappointing service, all for the grand price of 50 Euro. I do not recommend eating here. Avevamo prenotato per due e il padrone di casa è stato inesistente per un po' di tempo. Non c'era un metodo organizzato per il check-in e siamo stati ammassati insieme a quelli senza prenotazione. Il cameriere è stato veloce a prendere il nostro ordine di cibo e bevande. Abbiamo ordinato un'insalata caprese, una pizza daviola e una pizza portofino. L'insalata caprese è arrivata entro cinque minuti. I pomodori e il formaggio erano freschi ma l'insalata era priva di olio d'oliva, vinaigrette o qualsiasi tipo di condimento. Abbiamo aspettato quasi 45 minuti perché arrivasse la pizza. Avrei aspettato altri cinque minuti se l'avessero cotta. La pizza era poco cotta con l'impasto crudo. Il formaggio era ancora freddo al centro, l'impasto e il pesto avevano poco o nessun sapore e la marinara era insipida. Un pizzico di sale o qualsiasi cosa sarebbe bastato. Ho mangiato a malapena un po' di pizza prima che il cameriere la portasse via. Non mi ha chiesto nemmeno una volta se andava bene o perché fossero rimasti 3/4 di entrambe le pizze. (Non ha nemmeno chiesto una scatola da asporto, non che io l'avrei scelta). Nel complesso, cibo deludente, servizio deludente, tutto per il prezzo esorbitante di 50 euro. Non consiglio di mangiare qui.
I will rate this place a 5/5 for the food alone but the warm hospitality takes this restaurant to a 100/10. The staff and Giuseppe himself made it feel like we were being welcomed to our own italian family dinner. Very attentive staff and again, emphasizing that the food is top notch. . We had the T-bone, pizza and arrabiata. Don't skip on that lemon sorbet, it's the perfect cap to a lovely dinner. The restaurant is perfectly lit with ambient lighting and still give off a sense of romance. They are very kid friendly and my kids felt like a part of the conversation.
We loved this place, the only thing that sucked was it was so busy that they cram people into the indoor and outdoor areas. Each table is very close together, but it was delicious and worth it. The pizza was the best we have had in Europe and we've been traveling for theee weeks eating pizza almost every day at different places in different cities. The peach Bellinis were delicious!
This was our last meal in Florence and after a week of great eating, this food was disappointing. I had the octopus appetizer and the shrimp risotto and they were both pretty average. They did have a nice outdoor seating area. Service was fine until it was time to pay. I think there was some issue finding the credit card machine. In any case, it took a very long time to pay and leave.

The entire menu can be made gluten free! Everything we ate was amazing. I finally got to eat the Italian foods I have missed, due to the inability to find a gluten free replacement, and they were authentic. We ate there all the nights we spent in Florence. Giuseppe was a welcoming host and graciously shared stories about his family. They have created a beautiful space with great ambiance and great food. The restaurant concept was executed properly and well done. This family takes pride in the food they serve, and you can taste it. We will definitely be back. read more

One of the best experiences I've ever had in a restaurant! All of the food was bursting with flavor, it was perfectly priced, and the service was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and made sure that everything we could need was taken care of, even warmed up the honey my mom ordered for her tea. One of the sons even came to check on us before we left to ensure there were no complaints or anything he could have done to make the experience better. I highly recommend to anyone that is here visiting Florence and wants an amazing meal. read more

This place was incredible. The ambiance was tasteful, the food excellent, and the service was lovely. I've eaten gluten free for years now and this place does NOT disappoint. Anything can be made gluten free and dairy free and they take cross contamination very seriously. It was refreshing to have a fine dining experience that did not make me feel less than. They were warm and welcoming and did not mind my allergy at all. read more

We enjoyed our relaxing meal at Ciro & Sons. The food was excellent, we enjoyed 2 bottles of a local wine, and exchanged travel stories with new acquaintances at the next table. The servers spoke English so communication was not a problem. read more

So disappointing...came from Rome where the gluten free food is off the charts on taste and affordability. The food (pizza- GF buratta/pesto and pasta- GF pear/cheese ravioli) was below average. Also, we ordered a house Chianti and the waiter said they were all out of Chianti (really in the whole restaurant!?) and conveniently brought us their named wine Don Ciro which was the worst wine we've had in Italy or elsewhere. So sad, as I had high hopes for this place based on some reviews. read more

Great place to enjoy some Florence delights! The story of this place is interesting and we can chat with the sons of the owner who welcome us and give us suggestions! The pasta dish was delicious with the spicy tomato sauce, the pizza dough is to die for with its smell coming out from the wood oven and best of the best is the Firenze style grilled beef! So tasty and juicy! read more

This place was great and if you're American like me, they will make you second guess a lot of the Italian food you had back home. They get it right here and for the price you will get some of the best without busting your pockets. The pizza was some of the best I've had, crust was light as air, sauce was super flavorful, the cheese blend is great, and the spicy salami was a great topping. Put it all together and you get a work of food art. I tried the gnocchi which were so soft and nicely made, the sauce was on point. The pear ravioli were the best item and that's saying a lot, I highly recommend squeezing this item on your table no matter what. It's one of the best pasta creations I've ever had. For either tourist and locals, this one is a excellent choice when around. I would go back again if I was ever near by them. read more
Attention Florence goers - you have to eat here! Their entire menu (with the exception of a couple of desserts) can be made gluten free! The restaurant itself is very cute and located near the central market/city center, and the staff is very friendly. The pecorino ravioli might've been the best ravioli I have ever had. It had a cream sauce along with pieces of pear, drizzled with balsamic (it sounds odd but it was amazing). Their margarita pizzas are very good both regular and gluten free. Their tiramisu was delicious, and the cheesecake was pretty good (I don't love banana but it worked). Overall, you should definitely try to come here if you're in town! GET THAT RAVIOLI. read more

Ciro & Sons was recommended by my hangry mood the day we got back in Florence after visiting the wine region for a few days. After visiting the Duomo and sweating bullets, my friend and I were super hungry so we walked around for a bit looking for the restaurant she passed earlier in the day. She thought this was it so we sat down outside. They definitely cater to the tourists because everyone speaks English so well. If you're not into gluten, their pizzas are gluten free. We were fairly hungry so we ordered a feast like we usually do. The brought out a plate of toasted bread soaked in olive oil along with olives. The bread in Italy is pretty horrible, but theirs was decent. It was the first time I didn't complain about the bread. Once again, nothing disappointed. Everything we ate was out of this world good. I decided to go basic and got a chicken alfredo with truffle oil. That truffle was bangarang. I made sure to save my friend a few bites so she could understand why I was making some weird sounds after every bite. Shoutout to the woman who came out at the end of the meal to see if we wanted dessert or coffee. She was seriously entertaining. Just the right amount of banter. She totally got my humor and was such a nice change from all the other city folk we've dealt with. It also didn't hurt that you get to have a really nice view if you sit outside. The inside was also really nice. I got a quick look on our way out since we had to use the WC and saw their awesome wine collection. read more
We stayed aright around the corner from this place and our hotel recommended it for good pizza. They have diary and gluten free options as well. Overall the pizza was delicious. Super thin crust and was wood fire style. It was delicious. read more

From the moment we walked in the door till the moment we walked out the owners and staff made us feel so special and welcomed. We were the to celebrate our 25th anniversary and they made it so special. The service was great but the food was without a doubt the best we have had in Italy since arriving. My wife and I agree this is a must go to if in Florence/Firenze. Thank you all for a wonderful evening. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Especially for my gluten free and lactose free friends! Had dinner my first night in Florence, enjoyed it so much I HAD to return again. Everything on the menu can be made gluten free, pasta, pizza you name it. Place was super cute, looked upscale but with reasonable prices. As soon as you walk right in you can see the big pizza oven right in front (open kitchen) Service was incredible. Got seated immediately, as soon as I told them I had a gluten allergy they would bring items to the table and would tell me it's safe. Complimentary crunchy bread/olive oil and olives and bread all GF. First night I had fried calamari with Marinara sauce, pepperoni pizza with lactose free cheese made from almonds and a crepe with passionfruit marmalade (extremely sweet, would of requested less marmalade in the future) for dessert. 2nd night the tomato soup (more chunky then soup but still good with the complimentary bread to dip with) and pasta with calamari and crepe with sugar for dessert. If I stayed one more night in Florence I would of return again. Staff was great but my favorite is the lady who brings out the desserts, she brings the spice to the end of your night! read more
If you're going to dine here, sit outside! Beautiful views of the street and the unique Florentine architecture can be seen from here. Our appetizer was simply bread in olive oil & olives. Not bad. The 'house' wine was a regional wine from Florence called Ruffino il Ducale - excellent. One entree was salmon served with sliced apples garnished with avocado. This was probably the best tasting salmon I had during my stay in Italy. I was so surprised how well the apples paired with the fish. Well done. My meal was a Florentine classic - linguine with lobster. The pasta was absolutely amazing. Not a fan of lobster, but for what it was worth, it was good. - For a side dish we shared potatoes which were delicious. I'd visit this place again. Great location, food & seating. read more

Excellente! The service was superb and food delish. Even though every restaurant in Florence closes early, we were able to get a table walking up at 9 for inside. The staff was very friendly. I speak little Italiano or broken Italian so it can be challenging at times. However, a couple of waiters knew English which helped. One runner even apologized for not knowing any English. I told her no problem but wished I could have translated that we should be the one apologizing! The service passed American standards. The followed up on every plate and even asked us if we wanted the check. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo de tartufo (fettuccine alfredo with black truffles). It was so good... I ate it all. My hubby ordered the cheese ravioli which was OMG good... I was jealous. We even ordered dessert knowing that nothing would be open after we left. read more
What a nice lunch treat we stumbled on. This place looked promising as we walked to the train station. Beautiful interior a former home to a powerful Pope. Staff is very friendly and one of the son married a US mid-western girl, so English is not a problem here. We share a wonderful salad, pizza and each a pasta, the lasagna being the best. All was very good the salad was a highlight also as the tomatoes were amazing and arugula very flavorful. Nice selection of wines and 1/2 bottle selection was great for lunch. read more
