My only complaint here would be that there wasn't more of this, as it was spread a bit unevenly on the sandwich. It looks like there are three options adjacent and across the street to diffuse the crowds. Sandwiches are HUGE. Massive. I would recommend sharing with one other person. We felt so full each having a whole sandwich for lunch that we didn't eat until after noon the next day. We also noted innumerable others looking overstuffed roaming the streets with defeated looks on their faces. There are 3 separate lines that you can get in so the operation is pretty efficient but once you have your sandwich there is almost nowhere to sit. You will see people with their sandwiches all over the place for several blocks in the vicinity. We ordered the Dante and the Inferno and after one or two bites we tossed them and moved on. It seems like they are known for their creams but the truffle cream on the Dante was so rich and completely overwhelmed all the other flavors in the sandwich. The Inferno was just bland, the eggplant was not even a little bit spicy and the whole thing just wasn't great. This is a very popular sandwich shop with a lot of hype, so I had to give them a try when I was in Florence. When you get here, you'll see multiple storefronts. We ordered at the kiosk, which was convenient, easy, and the line was much shorter. Afterwards, they will call your number when the order is ready, so stay alert. The sandwich came with Sbriciolana, crema di pecorino and crema di carciofi e melanzane piccanti. It was good but I wasn't impressed. Mink also thought the sandwich was just ok. Fast forward, we were leaving Florence to go to Rome and had time to kill at the station. I was hungry so I walked around Florence S.M.N. To see what they offered. Apparently there are two locations here! One on level 0 and one on level -1. The -1 had a significantly shorter line so it was a no brainer and I decided to give them another try. This time I took my time to Google Translate the menu and confirm with the cashier on what's in the sandwich. I ordered their Italiana which came with Prosciutto crudo di Parma, mozzarella di bufala and pomodoro e pesto di basilico. They also accommodated my request to cut the sandwich in half here. I personally liked this sandwich a lot more than my first sandwich. Would I eat it again? Yes, this one I would but would I wait in that crazy line? Probably not.
