This was my first time dining at Circa, and it was excellent. I came here for brunch, totally forgetting it was mother's day...but I got seated basically right away somehow with a party of 4. The place is pretty small, but it's nice and relatively dark inside which I am a fan of. I ordered the banana pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs. The bacon was perfect for me, thin and crispy. The eggs were eggs, very enjoyable. The pancakes were great! I don't know what the syrup was but it tasted very good. There were a lot of banana slices in the pancakes, so there was good caramelized banana flavor throughout. I will order them again, but definitely will be back to try other items as well. read more

Circa is a great neighborhood restaurant. It's a small restaurant. There's on-street parking but you may have to walk a block or two depending on the time of day. There's an elementary school on the same block, other restaurants and a movie theatre on the next block. Service is always good, food comes out fast and is delicious. Almost all the times I have gone to Circa I order the Circa steak salad. Yum! read more

We were happy to be able to order online and pick up in a relatively short period of time (20 minutes). Headed to Alki to have lunch and wanted take out. We ordered the pastrami sandwich, a meatball bomb as well as the chicken sandwich. All were served with fries. Ketchup and utensils were also provided. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant closed last month so we have been on a mission to support other west sea restaurants and find a new favorite. We have been to circa a few times before, but not for awhile. We visited on a Thursday evening and it was packed! Their dinner menu has not changed much if at all since the last time we visited. Tbh- there isn't much on their menu that sparks my interest. They have chicken picatta -which is always a favorite but it's served with mashed potatoes, which unfortunately I do not like. They can sub rice, but meh. Anyways, they do have specials every day! Their was a crawfish pasta on the special board and I went with that. My husband ordered the lamb burger, which he has had before. Both were great. Some items on the menu seem pricey (like the $10 Brussels sprouts) , and others seem very well priced ($14 lamb burger). I always order the steak salad and it's so good. Service is always friendly and fast even when they are busy.

Their warm chocolate cake with ice cream is the best I've ever had. Love this place! The gumbo too is excellent, and really interesting and delicious specials. Staff is very polite too. read more

The steak salad & chicken quesadilla was amazing! Lots of flavor. HUGE portions, great service. We were the only ones in the restaurant so it felt very intimate and quiet. Such a West Seattle gem! My first introduction to Circa came this summer being a new WS resident. I was looking for a very particular bottle of Japanese whiskey. I wanted to shop local since we were in the midst of a pandemic and the grocery stores we're doing just fine. I called and the owner was so nice! He said he would look in the back...he thought he may have one more bottle left. Called me back within 5 minutes and as fare would have it, he did have one! I peeked at the menu and knew I needed to come back. Finally made it for dinner! We had tried to dine in but the wait was over an hour. It made me happy that they were busy but also noticed the extreme distancing measures they put in place. Even happier. We came on a Saturday and was about a 15 minute wait. They only say about 5 tables, I would say well below a fraction of their capacity. A heavy stream of take out orders were flowing so already a great sign. The menu spoke to me, I couldn't decide what to get. I was craving a steak so I had the flank with Korean glaze. My partner got the hidden hill ribeye special. BOTH DELICIOUS and seared perfectly. My medium rare was exactly how I like (pictured). Next time I'll do the crab cakes or shrimp & grits. Brunch menu also looks to die for. Can't wait to eat the whole menu! read more

YALL. We came here twice in one week, because the food is sooo good. Steak salad? Good. Circa burger? The bomb. Our server recommended the cherry cheesecake cake, topped with sour cream whipped cream... best dessert I've had in years. Furthermore: the ambiance is also very nice. Early 2000s indie music (love it cuz I'm in my 30s), a bar with tasty drinks, and friendly, quick service. Also there's a pokéstop here. 10/10 read more

This cozy spot deserves 5 stars for exceptional food and service. My husband and I had breakfast recently. The egg sandwich was delicious with scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, remoulade sauce and some greens. It was a tasty combination. The biscuit that came with my husband's bacon and eggs was generous and light and fluffy. They have yummy has browns, too. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive and kept our coffee cups full. OMFG. Best service ever from Azzy. We got in this morning before the bigger rush of people. Coffee was kept well filled and order promptly taken. Veggie omelette well done minus tomatoes, crispy hash browns, coffee cake and side of bacon. My breakfast was perfectly cooked, though there was one rogue tomato on the plate, bacon cooked medium (not too crisp, not too jiggly), and the coffee cake was warm!!!! I ate all the bacon and exactly half of everything else. Azzy brought me two little boxes so the cake wouldn't be touching the other stuff. I would say the theme of this place is "everything is better than it looks." The restaurant itself doesn't look spectacular from the outside, but the tables are comfortable, the ambiance is good, and the staff is fantastic. I had the steelhead salad-- it looked just ok, but it was actually one of the best salads I've ever had. The fish was fresh, the salad was a flavorful mixture of greens and herbs, and it was perfectly dressed. My friend had the gnocchi, which looked good and was good. My bloody mary was so tasty. Circa is my new favorite restaurant in West Seattle. I'm so lucky to live within walking distance to this GEM of a restaurant. The food is really really good. They use high quality local ingredients. I ordered the Circa burger. Cooked perfectly! I love the bun! My husband ordered the meatloaf. The best he's never had in a restaurant. I just love this little spot. Prices are reasonable. Really wanted to like this place because we just moved to the neighborhood and heard good things. The first time we went for breakfast and were disappointed. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito supposedly with mole sauce and it was more like bbq sauce. My breakfast burger bun absorbed the grease from the meat and turned mushy ruining the dish. The next time we went, we sat at the bar and were going to eat to give the place a second chance. The bloody mary was beyond spicy and undrinkable. While sitting there some type of scallop dish came out of the kitchen and the smell was awful. We just got up and left. Gluttons for punishment we went there again for a quick drink before our bus was scheduled to arrive (there's a bus stop right outside the restaurant). I ordered a draft beer and my wife ordered a Pimms Cup. The bartender drew my beer and left it sitting on the drain underneath the tap. She started to make the Pimms Cup and for some reason stopped and left the bar without a word. We sat there wondering where she went. We waited for at least 5 minutes while my beer warmed and she never returned. We got up and left. Feel like we've given this place more than enough chances. It's a shame 'cause the ambiance is great which elevates the review to 2 stars instead of 1. read more

"Discovered" this by accident. Was having some keys made next door. It started POURING rain so I dropped inside for a quick lunch. The ambiance is cozy - definitely the feel of a neighborhood place. I got a bowl of soup and an app, figuring that would be a light lunch. The soup was coconut lentil which was AMAZING. The brussels sprouts came with a chili sauce and green goddess (what?). Was super good with both sauces. I couldn't finish so took home the leftover sprouts. I will definitely be back! read more

What a wonderful dining experience . From Slim the server who was so courteous and prompt with every aspect of the dinner to the fabulous Gumbo ya- ya!! It was delicious and roux was done to perfection. Beautiful color, flavor great andouille!! I'm from New Orleans and this gumbo rivals any of the great restaurants down there !! The fish and chips are the best. They dip fresh cod in a beer batter and then in panko. It is deliciously crunchy. It does not have too much batter on it, which I love. You really can taste the cod. The fries are also crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. My favorite. Circa has been around for a long time. It is one of my regular places to eat. Hubby and I recently relocated to Seattle from LA (previously SF), so suffice it to say we are food snobs. And what we've discovered about Seattle thus far is that it's hit or miss in terms of restaurants here. But, thank God Circa is a hit! Food: My husband and I ordered the "best things on the menu" per the waiter's suggestions. I got the steak and potatoes and my hubby got the meatloaf. I absolutely loved my steak - it was cooked to tender perfection and the sauce/glaze it came with paired perfectly. The potatoes were also a match made in heaven. Even the greens on my plate were bomb! I tasted my hubby's meatloaf and thought it was just okay, but I'm not really a fan of meatloaf generally speaking. My dish was great, but I'll likely get the steak salad next time as the meal was very filling. Ambiance: Dimly lit, kind of this grunge, divey feel. It's a pretty casual spot with booths and a well stocked bar. Certainly not a place that requires you to dress up at all. Just come as you are and enjoy. Service: Our waiter was so nice and lovely. She made great recos and checked in with us often. We felt valued as patrons, which is how it should be. Food was great! Prices were decent considering. Parking lot was small and congested. This is a very small place so expect a wait. We went on a Friday night and the wait was around 15-20 minutes, so not too bad. Back to the smallness of the place, there was a cozy factor, but it also seemed to cause some anxiety on the staff. They were literally bumping into each other. We had the Grilled Skirt Steak and the Fish and Chips. OMG was the steak delicious and the sauce they serve with it was out of this world. Their online menu has pictures but the in person menu doesn't. I highly recommend they consider having a menu with pictures, as I am viewing the items online it is really helpful to see the corresponding images. I can't wait to come back! read more

Cute place very casual and inviting atmosphere. We ordered the Sweet Potato Fries, the Grilled Skirt Steak and a Circa Burger. I loved the skirt steak. It had a slight teriyaki taste. Sitting on the mashed potatoes the juice added a little extra flavor. The sweet potato fries were amazing. It came with 3 different sauces. I really liked the yellow one. My son and I were looking for a place for breakfast in W. Seattle this past weekend. After looking over reviews, we settled on Circa. We both enjoyed our meals and agreed it we would like to come back another time to try other items on the menu. About 12 hours later, we were both in the bathrooms at home. We both made multiple trips to the bathroom the next day up till about mid afternoon. Breakfast and dinner were the only meals we had that day. For dinner, we dined out with the rest of the family and a few relatives. It was family style so we all ate the same food at dinner. Of the eight of us, only my son and I had gotten ill. We were the only ones that ate at Circa that day. I kind of still would like to go back to Circa to try other items on the menu because our meals were really good, and I'd like to think this was an isolated situation. My son however, had it worse and does not want to go back. I gave three stars, but would give five if we hadn't gotten sick. read more
