This restaurant is located within the Hoxton hotel but don't let that deter you from coming here for dinner. We decided to try their restaurant week menu for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by both the flavors and the portion of the food. We thought the portion size would be smaller than their regular menu but it did not seem that way. The appetizer, entree and dessert kept our taste buds wanting more but our stomaches were too full. I had the rock shrimp skordalia, tagliatelle bolognese, and the carrot cake (that had some crunchy sesame candy in the ice cream). It was all so delicious!! If I were to return for a follow up visit I would order everything again. Service was friendly and attentive. We came during Super Bowl Sunday so there were more people at the bar than in the dining room but we enjoyed that the dining room was not crowded. The ambiance was very comfortable and we enjoyed our time here. read more

I loved Cira! I'm usually not a fan of Mediterranean food, but everything I had during restaurant week was fantastic! I got swordfish meatballs, Cod Tarramasalata, and the carrot cake. The meatballs were once incredibly tender and the sauce had a bold flavor from all the spices. The tarramasalata was a great starter to munch on and the carrot cake was very unique with the Tahini cream. A little heavy on the salt, but very boldly flavored as well. read more

Absolutely great brekkie. Two days in a row I had the avocado toast. Hubby diverged and got breakfast sandwich on 2nd day. The avocado toast offered the option of adding eggs. I requested poached and they were perfection. Nice bread, a little greenery and radishes. Service was very good. Oh and if they have that blueberry cream cheese coffee cake, do yourself a solid- that was amazing! read more

Food is great, portions are a bit small for the price. Ambiance of the restaurant was excellent! We were seated towards the back by the kitchen and were able to see the chefs prepare our meal which was a cool experience. read more

As a Turkish person I can confidently say: That is not a Turkish breakfast. I recommend going to an actual Turkish restaurant in the Chicago area. (I was visiting the city.) It's still decent stuff, but I've found it to be inauthentic and generic middle eastern food, as opposed to what the Turkish breakfast is supposed to be. read more

I've had a great lunch experience here before so thought I would give it a try for dinner. It's restaurant week and my friend came into town, so got a reservation here. We were seated quickly, but took quite a bit for waitress to come take our order. Not gonna ding her on that because it was quite busy seeing it was also day 1 of RW. When she took our order, we mentioned the table was wobbly, which she acknowledged and said she'll have some fix that up. Gave her about 10 min no one came, and I had to wave her over to let her know about the wobbly table, then took like 5 min before someone came over to fix it. First round came, which was dates and olives. We didn't have any small plates, so we didn't start eating. Waited a good 5 min again before we could flag our waitress down to bring us some small plates. Not bad, but not the best I've had. Our waitress checked in on us after first course. However, she didn't refill our water. We had to wave her over to fill our water. Second course came out, decent, the hummus was great; the falafel flavor was good but fried a bit too hard; the tuna tartare was okay; citrus and fennel salad was bland. Someone else, not our waitress, checked in on us after the second course. Third course came out and it was meh. Seemed like it was ready for a while, cuz it wasn't hot hot. My sister ordered shrimp, which was "mushy", but we thought was just over cooked. We barely touched our third courses, and packed it to go. Asked for our fourth course, dessert, which was pretty good, so made up for the meal and service. Our waitress brought us spoons for our dessert and that was the last we saw of her. (We had to wave her down, again, to refill our water prior to dessert). We paid our bill and left. Later, my sister felt nauseous and threw up. The shrimp, which we initially thought was just over cooked, was probably bad shrimp. She had food poisoning! All in all, a pretty sad experience here! Had service been better, I can forgive mediocre food. I understand it's Covid times, but even with slow service, the waitress could have checked in on us more, and refilled our water more frequently. Instead we had to wave her over EVERY time we needed water or something else (and we patiently waited prior to waving her over). read more

Great vibe on a Saturday evening. There's a live DJ, the massive seating area is beautifully decorated and the crowd is pretty great. While the cocktails were weak and the service was a tad bit slow ( but I don't blame them, they were pretty busy), I give it 4 stars for the ambience and the mezze platter! Plenty to share between 2-4 people, the insanely soft pita and delicious hummus and muhammara make it a must order dish here. Conveniently located in West loop, next to Lazy bird and cabra. Would definitely come here again! read more

The brunch deal here is AMAZING. For $25/person, you get a huge banana bread spread and mezze spread, plus two entrees of your choice. We weren't sure if this would be enough when we ordered, but we ended up not even being able to finish all the food. For the four of us, we got the Cira frittata and mushroom tart entrees, and both were delicious. I really couldn't tell you which one I liked more - they were both fantastic. We also ordered a couple of pitchers, which are only $20 each when you opt for the brunch special. That's $5/person. For multiple pours each from the huge pitcher. So with all that food and two pitchers, it came out to $35/person + tax/tip. It's pretty hard to beat the price and quality of Cira in Chicago. I am definitely adding this to my list of favorite brunch spots in Chicago. read more

On Saturday night March 10th I had a really disappointing encounter at The Hoxton. I had been waiting at the bar for about 10 minutes during last call, patiently to place my order. However, the manager, Lexa, not only turned me away but also proceeded to take orders from others. It was saddening to me not only because she embarrassed me by calling me out loudly in front of other guests. But more importantly because the Hoxton is my #1 choice for a weekend out. Why is that normally ? The service and hospitality makes or made me feel at home. On top of that, Lexa's attitude was downright rude. When I expressed my disappointment, she dismissively said, 'Sorry, I can't take everybody's order.' It's important for establishments to provide not only efficient service but also fair/equal respectful and friendly interactions. The lack of respect for loyal customers like myself is truly disappointing. I hope The Hoxton takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue. read more

Food was delicious and good for sharing. Service was great and wait staff was friendly. Cocktails were a bit too strong for my taste.

Went for my wife's birthday with another couple. Cocktails- 3/5 not interesting just ok Wine- 2/5 interesting choices, expensive, but not good Food- 3/5 hummus was good, fried olives tasted only of sweet sauce, no briny olive taste at all. Lamb shank ok, rissoto pretty good, other forgettable stuff. Service 2/5 kinda slow, and my wife's birthday. When finishing our entrees server asked if we were finished we said yes, and he bissed the table and dropped the check, no dessert menus, coffee nothing. Guess they wanted us to go. read more

I enjoyed a fancy, pretty, yummy brunch in the West Loop's newest hotel. Loved the mid-century modern decor, floor to ceiling windows, high ceilings, and velvet seating. It felt upscale and chic without being pretentious. We made a same-day reservation through Open Table and upon arrival, we were seated right away. (Note: the host stand is to the left of the main lobby; the signage is very subtle.) I loved the adorable marble-top round table and blue velvet lounge chairs: it somehow felt elegant, luxurious, accessible and cozy all at the same time! Props to your interior designer! Our waitress was prompt and other servers were attentive to our water glasses. This is always a positive in my book! The food is TASTY! It's Mediterranean-infused with some traditional dishes, like the Turkish breakfast ($16) and baklava kougin amman ($5), but the menu trends more toward American brunch fare. We started with the assorted pastry dish ($15). The blueberry cream cheese coffee cake is to die for, and the goat cheese and za'atar brioche a close second. It was fun to nibble on a combination of sweet and savory pastries to start. For my main dish, I ordered the breakfast sandwich ($13), a yummy combo of sausage, egg, harissa aioli on simit buns. The potatoes (included) were crunchy and flavorful-- if you love a good breakfast potato, this is the one to get! My friend ordered the shakshuka ($14), a plentiful pan of spiced tomato baked eggs, sausage, feta and two toasted slices of sourdough. It has a kick and some heavy seasoning (fennel, specifically) but I thought it was great. This seems to be one of the most popular brunch dishes and I can see why! Like another reviewer mentioned, the service isn't very personal, but more transactional. It's nice to be greeted with a "Welcome! First time here? Happy to have you! Let me explain our concept." This would be especially helpful for brunch where patrons have the choice of ordering a shareable brunch or main dishes a la cart (which I figured out from reading the menu, but still...explain it to me! Can two people share? Or only parties of 4+?). Overall, the atmosphere is neat, food is delicious, and general vibe is cool. read more

Had dinner here tonight and food was AMAZING. Service was great too. The pistachio ravioli is a must get! One of the best things I ever ate. Stayed at the Hyatt Centric and Circa was the restaurant in the hotel. I gave Ciara 5 stars because I loved brunch as well as our waitress and the customer service was more than excelent when we had a mishap with our to go experience. When we got home all of our food wasn't in our to go box. Now believe me that would have been a maybe ok situation if it was just the jam and some butter but NO it was the shrimp and the duck. When I say I was floored that would be an understatement. I mean for one I had a taste for my food and two we paid for our meal. I called and spoke to the manager Scott who was very pleasant and helpful with our situation and that is the reason I kept it at 5 stars and if anyone ever reads my reviews you know I don't throw around 5 stars reviews so they empressed me very much. The coffee was a reasonable price($2.50) and the first cup was pretty strong but the next one was just right for my liking. We also got OJ and Carrot Juice and I have to say I wasn't a fan of the Carrot Juice but the OJ was fresh and tasty. I don't know if it was freshly squeezed but it sure did taste like it...yum($3) We also tried this tomato, sausage and egg dish call Shakshuka and it was so flavorful I was ready to fight for more...lol($14) We stayed for Brunch which starts at 10:00am and at $25 per person it was well worth the price. Starting you off with Banana Bread with Nutella, Cookie Butter and Regular Creamed Butter. You also get olives, lentil, bread, jam, and lots more before you get you Shareable Dish. We picked the Duck and Smoked White Fish which was a smorgasbord all on it own. The food, the service and the customer service was top notch and the one blip wasn't enough to put a dent in the way I feel about Ciara. I will definetely be back. My only tip is either pack your own to go box or check it before you leave. Other than that I am glad I spent my Birthday Weekend with Ciara. As always folks... Enjoy!!! read more

I'm not from Chicago, Cira was recommended to me by a friend. The restaurant was so chic and charming. We tried several of the shared plates including local burrata and Piri Piri spinach artichoke. The dips were so tasty. We shared the pistachio ravioli, which was out of this world! Wonderful place for a solo trip or a larger group. Highly recommend! read more

Make sure you get the pistachio ravioli with the pumpkin butter sauce....it's to die for. Lamb shank, green salad (with an amazing curry dressing), whipped feta, dates and falafel were all super divine as well. Rigatoni was a D+ as the pasta was too Al dente and the dish was nothing special vs. the rest of the offerings. Plates are not too big, not too small, and restaurant is clean, bright and inviting. Cocktails were equally priced at 15$ each, and I ordered the mezcal one which had a creamy coconut milk component (I should've asked as I would not have wanted it). The rest of my group got old fashioneds and the gin/aperol cocktail. Definitely would get the gin one next time. Food was incredible here sans rigatoni, just know it's a little pricey (winky face). read more

Ate at Cira on a recent trip with friends. Very good restaurant. Good ambience. Not too loud. Attentive wait staff. Had several of their appetizers, including hummus and baba ghanoush. This is a great spot in Fulton market. E we went for brunch and got a nice table. Our server was prompt, the food was great

Cira is a vibrant new spot in the bustling Fulton Market District at The Hoxton hotel. Small plates that consist of Mediterranean elements and flavors is what you can expect from this Boka restaurant group. Their menu is divided into sections based on the size of the dishes. So you will see 'small' plates, 'medium', 'pastas', and 'land & sea'; which is comparable to entree sized portions. I was able to try a couple of the dishes and was mostly pleased with all. Manti- small portion of lamb filled dumplings with yogurt and charred tomato. I really enjoyed this, and felt that the texture and flavor worked really well together. This is one of those dishes you could eat all of by yourself, even if it was a large portion. Grilled Moscardini Octopus- the only dish I was not especially fond of. The octopus was a bit tough, missing that grilled flavor that one would hope for, and it was a bit too heavy on the corona beans, which took away from the flavor of the octopus. Lamb Tagine- mixed grill of lamb, couscous, naan, and Persian cucumber. Wow, this entree-sized portion was exceptional! The cut of lamb was ideal; cooked to perfection, and extremely flavorful. Paired with the Persian cucumber and couscous, it was a delightful combination that bursts with delicious flavors of Mediterranean elements. The naan was honestly one of the best I have had in Chicago, as it was buttery, fluffy, and cooked perfectly. Just an all-around well balanced dish that I would definitely come back for again. My friend, who grew up in the Middle East, enjoyed it as well but expressed that the title is a bit misleading, as it isn't authentic Lamb Tagine. However, I do recommend giving it a try. Rhubarb Pavlova- goat cheese cheesecake, with rhubarb sorbet. Not your typical cheesecake, definitely more of a different twist on it. Flavors were fresh, light and airy, but the rhubarb slices kind of gave it a weird texture. Overall tasty though! The service was excellent, and our waiter was friendly and attentive. The manager stopped by to greet us, and was very pleasant and eager to please. I enjoyed the large, open layout, and appreciate that there is a separate bar area designed for happy hour, and quick bites. I definitely recommend Cira, and hope it does well here in the West Loop! read more

Came here for brunch. Service was polite, consistent, and attentive. It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. Ordered coffee, blueberry cream cheese coffee cakes, Cira Benedict, and Shakshuka. The coffee was from Metric. The Benedict was very good and plated well. The eggs were cooked properly, and the hollandaise sauce was delicious and simple. The bread underneath wasn't soggy and slightly crispy for good texture. The ham was good as well and didn't have or need any seasoning. My date had the Shakshuka and she thought it was delicious, and it's one of her favorite food items. She really enjoyed it and the portion had a generous amount of food. Not too much cheese, and was served at a good temperature. The coffee cake was really good for dessert! I imagined it was going to be heavy on the cream (which I don't like), but it turned out to be a perfect portion. Overall, I'd definitely come back and try the other items on the menu. read more

Fantastic meal, amazing service, great wine pairings, and a beautiful restaurant. They treated us well. Highly recommend the mushroom starter, pistachio pasta, the manti, and the rib eye. The food is good but the service is lacking. From the maître d' to the server, the staff was just weirdly standoffish.

Located in the Hoxton, Cira is a hip/trendy spot to meet up with friends or hang out with clients or coworkers. They have mixologists for their craft cocktails but also a nice list of other drinks. They have a somewhat small menu at the bar but you can ask for an extended one. I've had the mezzo platter (decent), burrata and beet salad (good but barely any burrata) and the chicken lever mousse (my favorite). If you are into bread, def ask for extra cuz u get like 2 little triangles, I asked for ten for the few we ordered and they were happy to do it. The service is usually great but if it's super busy you might have to flag ppl down. For three ppl ordering 2 drinks each and three apps it came out to ~$50/person which for that area isn't bad. Also it's stunning on the inside, super high ceilings with a ton of light and the bathrooms have private stalls and are always clean! Definitely check it out if you're in the area! read more

My friend and I went to Cira early on a weeknight for dinner - since it was early we were able to be seated right away, but I'm sure a reservation would have been needed later in the night. The vibe of the restaurant was great, and I loved the decor and ambience. We had the following: 1. Crispy olives: these were AMAZING! Great flavor especially with the lavender honey - one of my favorite dishes 2. Falafel: this was some of the best falafel I have had - very fresh flavors 3. Brown butter hummus: we got this without the chorizo to make it vegetarian; we liked it, but I don't know that it blew me away - there wasn't a flavor that distinguished it from other hummus I had but it was still good. Also, it was a large enough portion that it was too much for two people 4. Pistachio Ravioli: This was such a different dish, and definitely one of my favorites from the night 5. Milk chocolate cremeux: I love chocolate mousse and this was good, but not as light as I would have expected. The mousse itself was very thick, but the fate compote and banana turmeric ice cream made it fresher. That being said, the turmeric flavor was very strong in the ice cream and I didn't necessarily love that. Overall, great experience at Cira and I would love to come back! read more

Beet starter has an Eastern European taste, octopus is tender and spicy, halibut just melts in your mouth, juicy burger comes with perfect fries, crispy olives on a rice crema with lavender honey (!!!), and the duck confit. Requires its own paragraph. This dish blew our minds.
