Absolutely top notch atmosphere! Any time of the year, you can walk into the lobby of the Hoxton into Cira and find such an eclectic and beautiful crowd gathered here having drinks and small plates and it is always a lively time. This is an ideal place to grab a drink while having an elevated experience. Drinks are expectedly on the slightly pricier side, but on par with every other establishment in the area. I've been here many times before and I anticipate returning many times in the future. read more

Food was good, portions small, beautiful interior. Music was extremely loud, 95 decibels! It was the same music over and over again. Impossible to have a conversation. Server couldn't even hear to take an accurate order, brought the wrong drink because the music was so loud. Was told they have a DJ and they are trying to creat a 'Club vibe.' There are so many great restaurants in the West Loop, skip this one. read more

We went at 3 pm on a Saturday and they were only offering the lounge menu. We all got the smoked turkey sub- it was lower quality than a gas station sub! The bread was stale and cold, the cheese wasn't melted and was cold and hard. The fries were starchy and undercooked. The garlic aioli that came with it saved the meal. Do not come for lounge menu! It's tiny. Service was incredibly slow as well. read more

Beautiful restaurant on the ground floor of the Hoxton Hotel. Service was great & the space is great for a formal dinner or small parties just wanting drinks and small plates. Huge floor to ceiling windows with views of the West Loop. And that's all I have to say about that. Jackée read more

I definitely will say the ambiance is amazing! I love how they have decorated this place with the furniture and the lights. I've been here twice now, once for dinner and this time for restaurant week brunch. The restaurant week menu consisted of an 3 courses and it was a lot of food! We started with the biscuits which were nothing special but nice to munch on while waiting for the food. Second, we got the shakshuka. I've never had this before, but I was surprised how good it was. There was two eggs in a tomato chickpea sauce with bread to eat it with. Lastly, I had the French toast and it really hit the spot. I didn't like the orange marmalade that it came with but that's just my preference because I don't like orange marmalade. read more

Cira gets busy. ..& mean busy busy. The after work crowd is crazy. Some evenings it looks like a club. There's a few restaurants, a bar and coffee shop all under one roof. Cira has a Mediterranean flare and serves up flavorful plates and cocktails. It's a diverse crowd of professionals and a lively atmosphere. I suggest trying out even if you're just grabbing a drink. read more

SETTING: Came for dinner with a friend at around 7:00 on a Friday under a reservation, but the restaurant was definitely packed. The ambiance was great with beautiful interior, but almost bar-like with very dim lighting and loud music. FOOD: We came immediately from another restaurant, so we just got enough to try the restaurant--ordered the brown butter hummus with pita, lamb manti, and Amaro Montenegro. Brown butter hummus was easily some of the best hummus and pita I've had, 100% need to order. Mix of sweet, salty, nutty, crunchy, and smooth with the fluffiest, warm pita. Came out immediately. Lamb manti was good, and though I'm somewhat lamb-averse, I enjoyed it. I couldn't finish the Amaro Montenegro, but I blame it on my palette rather than the restaurant itself. SERVICE: Especially considering how busy it was, our waitress was great! Very attentive and took the time to explain the Amaro menu to us. PRICE: Pretty good considering everything. Food was filling, each item we ordered ranged from about $15-20, but the larger plates (which we didn't order) were mainly $30+. OVERALL: So so beautiful, and would return just for the hummus. That being said, not sure if I would get a full, satisfying dinner from here. But worth checking out for sure. read more

Pretty disappointing. Celebrating a 50th bday and asked to be sit in the lounge during the day for 6 people. They sat us at a massive large table and it was awkward. We saw the waiter maybe twice. The food was just ok avocado toast , salmon toast, burger, mezza platter is disappointing. Cocktails were ok but we waited for over 30min to get them. We would have kept ordering and left a massive tip but the waiter was not interested and we all felt rushed and ready to leave . read more

Super-duper overrated. Over priced. Under portioned. Food was regular, at best. Starter- falafel: You get two for $10. The falafel itself is tasty and the perfect combination of soft inside with a crispy fried outside. The yogurt sauce is overpoweringly lemony. My verdict: I'd rather just get a falafel pita from anywhere else in Greek town for about the same price and 4x the food. Starter- swordfish meatballs: You get 7 for $15 with two slices of crusty toast. Honestly, one of the more unique foods I've had in a while, and definitely have never eaten a fish meatball. Taste was not fishy, and the texture was soft. They were served on top of a bed of tomato sauce (tasty). Entree- pistachio ravioli- this is barely an entree. The ravioli were about the size of a golden dollar coin. These barely had any flavor to them and were undercooked, at best. These came recommended by the server. It would've behooved us to just order another swordfish meatball appetizer because there was more to that serving than these ravioli. Not to mention, this restaurant is adjacent to the hotel bar at the Hoxton. It is super noisy. This place is all hype. It is aesthetically beautiful, but definitely a lot of hype. I will not be back. read more

I was staying the Hoxton for a team retreat. The seating was very eclectic, but comfortable and spaced out enough for me to. When we ate breakfast, I had the Mortadella Breakfast Sandwich. It was different than what I was expecting. It was a pistacho-based pesto, giving the sandwich a very nutty taste. The amount of mortadella meat overpowered the presence of the eggs and I would have had the option of a different bread, as I am not a huge fan of sesame bread. read more

I am disappointed with experience here. The order in which our order came out was very bizarre. Our wine came well after our apps and the second bottle likewise with the entree. Because we tried to wait to pair our drinks and food, the food had gotten cold. It frankly seemed odd that the food came out so quickly; it seemed like it was already prepared and just reheated (had been sitting in the back for awhile). read more

Cira's menu is unique and the photos of the space looked beautiful so I was excited to try! I made a reservation for 7:15 on a Saturday and it was packed. There was a DJ and the music was overwhelmingly loud when we first walked in. The dining room was slightly quieter but still too loud for a date night. Probably would be good for a group/pre game. We had the burrata, citrus salad, hummus, pistachio ravioli, and rigatoni. The pistachio ravioli and hummus were highlights. Cocktails weren't great. We tried the Secret Garden and Boston Boulvardier and neither were fantastic. Overly sweet and lacked complexity of a high end cocktail. Overall, food is good, cocktails subpar, and atmosphere too loud. I'm glad I tried it, but likely won't be back. read more

If you choose restaurants based on the atmosphere, a pretty bar and a hip crowd, this is the place for you. It was packed for lunch on a Wednesday, and I was happy for the restaurant. I wanted a healthy lunch option and chose the ancient grains bowl. I left hungry. I understand $17 is probably the going rate for this area (I work in West Loop), but a little quinoa, one small falafel, a poached egg, a sprinkle of cheese and a portion of vegetables did not do it for me. My friend had the blt sandwich-nothing to write home about, she said. Our server simply asked us our order. Did not check in with us or give us any details about the menu. So many restaurants in this area-I'm not interested in giving it another try. read more

Food: 8/10 The brown butter hummus was amazing--the texture that it created between the mushrooms, cilantro, nuts, and radishes was perfect. Pitas were a great portion and was honestly the best pita bread I have ever had. The lamb was cooked very well and was seasoned perfectly. Service: 10/10 Wonderful service even though it was very busy. Our waitress was very helpful in giving us food and drink recommendations. They even gave us a complimentary birthday dessert for my friend! Menu: 7/10 There were fewer dish choices than I thought, but there were a lot of choices for drinks just behind the typical wines or cocktails. We chose to adventure out with an amari! Ambiance: 9/10 Beautiful lighting, seating, and table arrangement. Only reason I wouldn't give it a 10 is because it was too loud at times because of the music. read more

Great ambiance! The restaurant was darker than I thought it was going to be. Overall had a great experience - friendly staff, great food, and really nice bathrooms. Dined at Cira for the second time with coworkers, this time for lunch. We ordered a few apps - dates, hummus, and seasonal crudite - all light and lovely. The combo of texture/crunch of hazelnut with sweet/warm goat cheese was a highlight. I had the turkey sandwich with a side of tomato and cucumber in balsamic and herbs. Classic, filling, delicious. It was a busy Thursday lunch rush and we wanted/waited for nothing. Great service just like last year. Nice job, Cira! I'll be back. read more

I really enjoyed myself here last week! I decided to treat myself to a cocktail and experience some peace at a bar and I stumbled upon this place, Cira. When I stepped inside, it was like stepping into a different time/different world. All of the warm, rich colors of the decor makes you forget about Chicago winters approaching and makes you feel like you are in jaja bar in Brazil. I saw all kinds of folks just chilling, having cocktails after work, and just vibing out to the amazing brazilian live jazz music. So deliciously dope! I walked over to the bar where I saw a seat that had my name on it, and I couldn't help but notice that all of the bartenders were dressed in their vests, and button ups. I knew the cocktails had to be legit. I decided to order the old fashion and man oh man did it come back with a bite! Despite the bite though, you could taste the notes of cherry and vanilla. That one cocktail totally knocked me off my axis! I will say I would rate my cocktail 3.5/5 only because I didn't feel it was all that special. I've certainly had much stellar old fashions and I know you could it elsewhere that's better. My star rating is on the atmosphere and the pleasant bartenders. This is a nice place to have a date, or have a ladies night, or take yourself out for a drink (because life is too hard and why the hell not?! so treat yo self you deserve it) and sit at the bar and marvel at life and their cocktail makings! read more

I wish I knew our bartenders name - she was great! Made the best tequila (Tequila Ocho Silver) espresso martini on the block. We also shared a Cinnabon roll which was underwhelming to me personally - I expected the typical Cinnabon but instead we got a churro style Cinnabon! Not warmed up, no sauce, pretty bland. Will not order again, but the espresso tinis with the lovely bartender (HELL YEZ) read more

I went there during Restaurant week and had their $25 lunch. It was a good deal. Good amount of tasty food with good , service was good; everything you would expect in this type of restaurant. The only thing for me was that the dessert I had a chocolate ganache was way too sweet and rich. And I understand that it's chocolate ganache, and it should be rich, but this one seemed extraordinarily so, otherwise wonderful experience! read more

My girlfriend and I did the funky brunch, $25 per person. You get two starters and two entrees and $10 off pitchers. Food: Almost perfect. The banana bread was super moist and the spreads were good. The seasonal mezze spread was amazing. Le grand aioli was alright, the fish was cooked perfectly and veggies were fresh. The duck confit roesti was what disappointed us. There were parts of the potato pancake that were unbearably salty. Service: Disappointing. We ordered our food, hibiscus arnold palmer pitcher, and coffee at the same time. The starters took up all the space on the table, so we thought that our server was waiting for our main course to bring out the pitcher. After our main course came out was when we realized that he had forgotten about our pitcher. Over ten minutes later after we reminded him, he came to our table and told us that they were out of hibiscus. I also had to ask for refills on my coffee. Overall, the place is pretty and food was good but service needs a bit of work. read more

The first thing I noticed about Cira was the beautiful interior. The seats were comfy and the service was great. We ordered the avocado toast, shakshuka, and American breakfast. I thought the avocado toast looked beautiful, but the taste was a bit lacking. However, the shakshuka was excellent, and the potatoes in the American breakfast were delicious too. The mocha and other hot drinks were great as well. Great spot to do some work or study too, very quiet and cozy. read more

Great date night place Had a wonderful meal at Cira last Thursday night before the Seinfeld Gaffigan show, and we would definitely return again. The lobby and restaurant itself is beautiful and inviting, quite busy in the lounge at 5:30 with a warm and welcoming vibe. Host was lovely and made note of our "date night" reservation. We elected to sit in the restaurant and were fortunate to have Rory as our server. Cira calls itself a small plates place, so we ordered several things--some not so small at all, like the chicory Caesar. Rory alerted us that this wasn't a classic Caesar, so with that preparation, we very much enjoyed the big bowl of crunchy interesting salad reminiscent of Caesar but with a twist. I don't consider myself a scallops fan because they can be so inconsistent, but these were divine. Two perfectly cooked scallops on a complementary sauce. Another huge hit was the pistachio ravioli. Everyone raves about it, and justifiably so, it's a knockout, especially the bites with toasted pistachios on top. Portion sizes for the pasta are not huge, so note that when sharing. We had the spinach artichoke dip to start--a bit lemony for my husband but again, interesting with a nice little kick at the end. Dessert was a wonderful apple galette with ice cream. Cocktails were lovely-- shoutout to the bartender, I had a perfectly balanced gin and tonic with lots of lime. read more

This is part of the hoxton hotel on the main level. I have been so eager to try this place and in the last few weeks have been for dinner and brunch and both did not fall short of their amazing reviews. Vibe check: the inside reminds me of the allis at soho house, very cute and instagram worthy. Okay. I just had the best lunch I have ever had in my life. Hands down. It was incredible. Fresh. And I think relatively healthy. Here we go: Green garlic sunflower seed spread. I can't even describe the flavors on this spread but it was outrageous. Served with raw vegetables, but now your basics. Had some endive. Different colored carrots. Radishes. Peppers that looked like they were spicy but were sweet. This dish destroyed it. Then, I got the chicken schearma sandwich. I replaced fries with salad. The salad was so fresh and flavorful. Again, not your typical house salad but amazing. The sandwich looked pretty boring, but the flavors were so good. The sauce. Everything. Mwa! Wish I took a pic of everything. Also, if you've never been here, it's one of the coolest, most chill places in the city with great music, great seating, great people and great vibe. read more

Kind of bland, but boy is it pretty in there! Our friend's challah French toast came with a hair in it, but they quickly replaced it with another and took the dish off of our bill. So it was handled very well, all things considered. Service was good and friendly, except sometimes they would be super far away because the place is so huge, and then it was hard to catch their attention. The potatoes, French toast, bread that's served with the shakshuka, and maple sausage are good. The rest of what we ordered was really bland and forgettable. It's not a cheap place, and there's so many amazing options to try nearby that we don't plan to come back. It's a good place if you're looking to take some photos for Instagram though! read more
