Service: both our host and waiter acknowledged us immediately and were friendly. We received our food quickly. Ambiance: beautiful building, huge space, big windows. Truly such a modern industrial but also welcoming feel. Breakfast: I had the Shakshuka and it was pretty standard, nothing to write home about. My sister had the breakfast sandwich and it was really unique, the pesto they chose gave a nice kick. Usually not a fan of pork but the ham was well crispy and paired well with the rest of the sandwich. We ordered lattes as well and they were not good. If I were to come here read more

Great spot in the west loop- definitely more than a sexy hotel lounge! Great drinks- I first got 8 oz montepulciano, which was a nice generous pour of tasty wine. I also had a spicy mezcal margarita, which was off-menu, but the waiter overheard me say I liked mezcal and margaritas so he got the job done! We also had some appetizers, and all were delicious. The hummus with the warm pita was a perfect scrumptious shareable, and the falafel was crispy and tasty. Overall an amazing spot for some classy drinks and bites! read more

Such a good date spot. It's honestly so reasonably priced for being in West Loop, especially under the much pricier Cabra upstairs. The restaurant is labeled as Mediterranean, but I wouldn't categorize it as that as it has many different dishes such as Piri Piri chicken and several classic pasta dishes. My favorite dish is the mushroom bolognese. If you go, you really have to try this dish. It shocked me because I don't prefer mushrooms. The ambiance of the restaurant is really great as well. The decor is so beautiful. The bathroom is stunning. Might be silly--but I love looking out the window at the train. The fact that you can't hear it going past the restaurant even though it's so close is so fascinating. Haha gotta love a fancy hotel's soundproof windows. read more

When I go out, I like to get an entree for each person at the table and an appetizer for every two people. My friend and I came to Cira together and each got an entree and shared a spread. Honestly, compared to other Mediterranean restaurants in the city, we were a bit more satisfied than what I was used to, but it still felt lacking. The spread was the star of our table. The flavors were delicious, but the plating was what took it to another level. I appreciate all the colors and fresh vegetables/flowers used to garnish, and they tasted wonderfully with the pita. There just wasn't enough pita and spread! :) We got a pasta and a fish entree to share. They each felt lacking on their own, but were better together. It just felt like neither could be filling on their own as they were each lacking a certain amount of complementary flavor that was fulfilled by the other. I enjoy that nothing was seasoned too strongly but the flavors still shown through. Overall, I would come again, but maybe not on a hungry stomach. I had seen other present parties enjoy more dishes slowly one by one, so that just might be the way to go. read more

What a lively restaurant on the first floor of the Hoxton. Make sure to grab a reservation to ensure you can get in. Wonderful ambiance and a gorgeous open kitchen. The mezze sampler was a highlight for me, so many delicious flavors to try and great for sharing. Our cocktails and service were wonderful! Our crew had mixed reviews on the food, the half chicken was just okay and my friend didn't care for the mushroom pasta. My friends described spinach as spicy (curry spicy) and our group enjoyed it. The rigatoni was so good, the pasta was beyond fresh and cooked perfectly! This place has paper menus rather than QR codes. Overall, we enjoyed our time here and would come back! read more

Cira is OK. It's nothing amazing, but also not terrible. It seems to be associated with a hotel and located in a hotel lobby. It's a cool vibe, plenty of seating and tables. We did not have a reservation, but were still able to get a table for 5 within 10 minutes on a Sunday morning. As we were seated, we had one of those odd-but-not-uncommon experiences where we aren't exactly sure who our waiter/waitress was...the first person came up to us and had to make sure our menus were correct because apparently they're revamping their menu...so if they were doing so then why would some menus be the incorrect one? Didn't make sense. She took our orders and left. Our coffees and teas were delivered by someone else - and this was especially weird because there were 3 vanilla lattes for the table and he brought us out 2 cups of vanilla syrup saying "Here's some vanilla syrup, we didn't mix it in to make it easier on ourselves" ...? This was a bit off-putting because I don't want to pay $6 for a latte that I have to finish making. Our drinks were refilled by someone else. Our meals were brought out by someone else. And finally our check was brought to us by someone else. It was odd. The food was average. Challah French Toast was probably the best, but they forgot the syrup so we weren't sure if the syrup was mixed in with the orange marmalade and tahini whip (it was not so had to ask, they just forgot to bring it out - honest mistake). The Smoked Salmon Toast wasn't bad either, but just so overpowered by the lemon aioli. The salmon itself didn't really taste that smoked either. The Falafel Burger was pretty good too, but tasted exactly as described in the menu - nothing special. Overnight Oats were watered down. Potatoes were actually pretty good, but some of the pieces were just way too over-seasoned. I had asked if I could substitute out the sausage for salmon in the Loukaniko Sausage Benedict and she said no and when I asked why she did not have an answer for me..it was all odd. Satisfactory experience, personally probably won't repeat. 2.7/5 read more

Food was excellent. Cocktails and mock tails were both very good. We started with the spinach artichoke dip which was a little too lemony. We got the chicken thighs and burnt ends. Both were perfectly seasoned and cooked with some char but just right. The reason for only 4 stars was service. Our waitress was doing her best but she had too many tables. We were out of water several times and were there for 1.5 hours before ordering our main. Not a huge deal, we still enjoyed the ambiance and the whole experience greatly read more

What an amazing gem in West Loop! First, the ambience is fantastic. We made a reservation for 5pm on a Saturday but it wasn't too busy so you could probably get a table. The decor and music and liveliness of the lounge area, everything was very trendy and chic! We started with the mezze platter and probably could have ended on that. It was absolutely delicious and quite satisfying for 3 people. The hummus, falafel, green garlic dip, it was all amazing and we're glad we got the platter so we could try a little bit of everything. For entree, the pistachio ravioli is superb. I don't think I've ever had ravioli that flavorful and unique. That dish alone is worth returning again and again! Pistachio cookie is a great way to wrap up your meal, although be warned it is very sweet - but so worth it! Service was very nice and attentive as well. Definitely recommend checking this spot out! read more

Located in the @thehoxtonhotel, the modern Mediterranean restaurant truly represents the upbeat and intimate vibes + good quality food & drinks of everything else in the modern hotel While it's almost like you're walking into a club at first hand, the restaurant holds a handful of large areas of seating within its grandiose space. The sections itself give you some intimacy with the group you're with, centered around a dimly lit candle at perfectly carved wooden dining tables. As if you're right at home. This intimacy is key, especially when you're with 2 other friends among a football field of people Both my friends I went with are more familiar with Mediterranean food than I am, so it was interesting to see what they thought of simple items like the falafel & spreads. Biggest highlights include the wagyu skirt steak , pistachio ravioli , whipped feta spread , and rum cake . They were delicately seasoned & cooked just right Nice bite, crispy textures + melt-in-your-mouth fillings. Flavors really come through , super balanced Other things we got include the papas bravas and crispy falafel . Everything came to around $75. Definitely smaller portions for what the price was. I'd come here for drinks and order their spreads/dips + a dessert for sure eg. An after work drinks with coworkers type of thing or coming here with friends before going out to west loop clubs @midwestmunching on Instagram for more! read more

Delicious food made to perfection. Some of the highlights were the trio dips with fresh pita, falafel, fries with aioli, mushroom bolognasise and the avocado toast. Everything was yummy, atmosphere was super cute and the waitress was friendly. I will say we definitely indulged and got all 4 desserts and every single one of them were amazing: Tiramisu, Chocolate Profiterole, pistachio cookie with ice cream and the strawberry cheesecake mousse. The strawberry dessert was light and refreshing and the pistachio cookie was definitely a favorite- it tasted just like a Pizookie. We will definitely be back :)! read more

Hands down one of my favorite spots in Chicago!! I've been coming here for years. Ambiance, food, and drinks are phenomenal!

I visited Cira for the first time today with my family, who was visiting me from out of town, and we've been doing a tour of highly rated restaurants in Chicago. This was by far our least favorite. We arrived with high expectations based on the positive reviews. The ambiance was impressive; the main dining room felt grand and welcoming. There's also a DJ playing in the main area, which initially added a fun vibe. However, heavy house music at 11 a.m. became a bit overwhelming and tiring. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn with the service. We waited an hour for our food, with little communication from our server. When we asked our server about it, they didn't seem to care much and said the kitchen was taking a long time, but we noticed larger groups who arrived after us were served much sooner. Ironically, those same groups later requested the manager due to issues with their own orders. When our food arrived, it was underwhelming. We ordered the French toast, falafel platter, and short rib hash. The French toast was very mid and served with noticeably cheap syrup; using quality maple syrup makes a big difference. The short rib hash was lukewarm, and the potatoes missed the mark on crispiness. Im guessing this dish was made long before the others. Finally the falafel platter was a bit confusing - it was served in a bowl and came with falafel, rice, garlic sauce, and carrot salad. It was fine, very underwhelming if you've had quality Mediterranean food and the different elements of the dish didn't pair as well as I had hoped. It was also missing add ons we requested from when we ordered. During our meal we spoke with our server about our experience and was met with apathy. She said she would tell the manager in a surprisingly unconcerned and dismissive tone and took our check. The manager never stopped by which is odd after receiving a negative review and we waited 20 minutes to get our check back... After finishing my meal and writing this entire review, we've been waiting for the server to stop by and give us our check back. I enjoyed the drinks and liked the energy of the place, but this is the first time servers have been outwardly rude to me and the food missed the mark as well. I hope these areas improve, so others don't have a similar experience. read more

Chelsea and especially Daniel were amazing. Food was delicious. Nice comfortable seats all around and cool and creative cocktails.

Went for brunch Able to get seated right away but recommend reservations Had the pastry trio ! Delicious items , inventive and classics both The shakshuka was wonderful, bread a little over toasted but still tasty My wife got the American breakfast. Pretty good. The vibe is so cosy that I want to go back for brunch regularly. Will also be back for a date night. read more

We came for restaurant week dinner and thought everything was just okay. The vibes are great for a date night or small girls dinner, definitely a beautiful space. It was $59 and included about 5 small apps, a main, and a dessert. The apps were all very similar and a bit bland - the olives were probably the best which is indicative of the others. I had the octopus and it was very chewy - almost inedible. My husband had the lamb and said it was okay. Desserts were good and the right size portion. Overall, it was just fine but wouldn't go back anytime soon unless for the vibes and a drink (okay and the olives) read more

Cira - Tiramisu and Pineapple Coconut Sorbet - Mediterranean Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Beautiful restaurant in a great location. This would be a good one to take people from out of town. Keep in mind the noise level was pretty high so maybe not the best place to go if you want to catch up. It's upscale but vibey. The food was good but the drinks took awhile to come out. My recommendation is get there a little early and grab one from the bar before dinner. There's a great bar downstairs as well that had live music (given this was on a Friday). read more

Finally got around to trying this place, and I was not disappointed. The inside is very pretty with beautiful decor. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel with lots of natural lighting coming in from the windows. The food was really really good. I ordered the smoked trout toast originally. It was good, but if you are used to heftier portions you will probably want something else. The side order of bacon was good as well. HOWEVER the real star of the show was the challah French toast. Honestly just order it. Don't think about it just order it. It was so buttery and crunchy. The syrup, the whip, and the marmalade all made great accompaniment to the toast. I was so happy I ordered it, but mad at myself for not ordering it first and ordering a second order afterwards. Our waiter was fabulous. Very nice and accommodating. He told me the French toast would be delicious, and he didn't lie. In summary, order the French toast. read more

We went for a random brunch plan to Cira. The brunch menu isn't as extensive and the lunch or the dinner menu. We tried the falafel burger, wild mushroom toast and the avocado toast. The falafel burger was a bit dry so was delicious. The Vivaldi toast was definitely my favorite. The ambience is so chic and classy. The service was a little slow but the server had great recommendations. I would visit again but for either lunch or dinner as the menu is more extensive. read more

Cutest lil brunch spot in the West Loop! Made a reservation for my friend and myself online and had no issue getting a table - probably because this restaurant is super spacious! The ambiance is lovely - modern/chic vibes with high ceilings, cool light fixtures, and a tonnn of seating. If you're a sucker for an aesthetically pleasing establishment, come here. I ordered the Jupiter's Son cocktail to drink, which was light and refreshing and just what I needed (at noon lol). For my food, I opted for the shakshuka, which had great flavor and a nice portion size. My friend got the falafel burger, which she really liked. Most of their dishes (at least on the lunch menu) are meatless, so this place is certainly vegetarian friendly! Service was a bit slow, but no real complaints. Good food and drinks + a gorgeous interior = a satisfied gal who can't wait to come back in the future! read more

Lovely dining experience in a beautiful hotel. Everything from the ambience, service, music, decor, and food was great. Loved the variety in the menu. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Never had to ask for a single thing as we were tended to at all the right times. The pistachio ravioli is perfect! Enjoyed the drinks and hummus dip as well. My friend tried the lamb & venison sausage but wasn't really a fan. I'd still give Cira a 10/10. read more

Cira is so aesthetically pleasing! It was easy for us to get a last minute reservation for brunch. Heads up brunch doesn't start officially until 10:30. They were pretty busy so it took a while for my food to come out even after my friends, but they comped me with an extra cocktail which I thought handled it well. I had the smoked salmon toast. Overall it was good, but for michelan star I was expecting a little more pizazzze. Overall would dine here again read more

Cira is a vibrant spot in the West Loop. This place is perfect for a happy hour with coworkers and friends. The interior lounge is a great place to network too. The staff was attentive and upbeat . I've been to Cira a couple of times now. There menu changes so there is always something interesting to try. If you like the livelier atmospheres to relax, it draws a great crowd on weekend nights especially with the DJ pumping up the mood in the front section. It is always hard to find parking within 2 blocks of it during meal times, so I either park further away or just use their valet service. I love their hummus, maybe because they add honey to it which is a change from the savory versions. We also ordered the Burrata, it is a little more liquidity in consistency and milder in taste than what I have tasted before. The Pistachio scallop was very fresh. The shank of lamb is very tender and filling. The surprise in this dish was the grapes which added an interesting texture and fresh contrast to the lamb. While I enjoyed the Middle Eastern flair to the menu, I suggest that you ask the waiter if you do not like mint, parsley, or yogurt. I realize once the dishes came out that these elements kept repeating in each dish. One of my companions is not a big fan of parsley and she had to pick it out. While I like yogurt, it got a little boring when I saw it on the 3 of the 4 dishes on the table. read more

Ate at this place right before the holidays for lunch. Easily some of the most delicious food I've ever had in my life. The goat cheese stuffed figs were absolutely the best starter I've had. Came here after dinner for a glass of wine & some dessert since my husband and I were staying at the Hoxton overnight. It was during restaurant week so I wish I could give exact names for the desserts we ordered because they were exceptional but sadly the menu isn't up anymore! One was chocolate cake with yummy whipped topping & peanuts and the other was a pumpkin dessert with ice cream. OMG just so so so good. I love chocolate desserts and I liked the pumpkin one even better. Our server was very pleasant & friendly as well. It's so dark and swanky and such a nice part of the hotel to hang out in. Only set back is that it's verrrrrry pricy. I understand inflation and downtown prices in general but my husband and split ONE glass of wine & 2 desserts and our bill was $50. Just be prepared to pay a little more here! We also ordered room service from here for lunch - grain bowl & hummus and they were both very tasty!! read more

Such a cool space and great vibe. (They have a DJ Saturday brunch after 11:30.) I love a seasonal menu, but was disappointed so many faves from past reviews weren't available. The brunch menu doesn't give access to the breakfast items, either. Our server forgot a few things, mentioned that the barista was backed up, and finally came back to say they were just plain out of the Pumpkin Chai Latte. BUT the challah french toast and Shakshuka had great flavor. The service was slow at 10am on a Saturday, but I'm sure they're up against staffing shortages like most places. Everyone was kind. Also a good place to open a laptop and have a coffee or cocktail between meal rushes. read more
