It was an early afternoon where a Scooby Snack was in order so I headed over to The Cookie Corner (CC). Located on the ground floor of Bishop Square, this CC has been here for AGES. I used to work at American Savings Tower at Bishop Square in 2010 and it's still in the same location, near the elevators to the parking. In doing a little research, CC started in Pioneer Square in 1981 and then moved to this current location. CC has now expanded to 12 locations throughout Oahu. I am a creature of habit and will get chocolate chip cookies sans nuts. Upon entry, I inhaled the strong aroma of butter, vanilla and chocolate. My eyes made a bee line to the chocolate chip cookies where I asked the clerk for 2. They were weighed and she rung up my purchase. I walked away all happy as I now had a delicious Scooby snack for later. Other favorites with CC are their tropical fruit bars and their Island style bite sized cookies that I often receive as gifts from friends. I also recall seeing almond cookies during Chinese New Year with the red dot in the center. So why not 5-stars? Service was lacking for me as the staff didn't have personality nor pep. Too functional and needs to engage with your customers. If you want delicious, freshly baked cookies with a nice crunch outside and a soft, chewy center with milk chocolate chips , don't look further. This place gave off a cold and dead feeling upon entering the restuarant. Sour faces and not one hello greeting of any kind happening here. One of the guys faces looked like he was sucking on a super sour lemon. The good looked good and not to pricy. Nothing food was was over Six dollars till I cam to the front countets where prices rose to $12.XX. Since neither my wife or I felt a positive vibe from this place, we decided to look elsewhere.

Nordstrom frequently has pop ups throughout the store is a wonderful help and contribution to showcase various local biz and today they did have various vendors on their second and third floor and I found Honolulu Baking Company on the third floor. As soon as I was in the eye view of the table I was instantly greeted by the delightful owner and got into all her products she had available for sale including her famous oatcake that once was available at all Starbucks on the island...who knew that they were sourcing local at one point. Feeling so blessed to have such talented bakers like her and though I didn't get the oatcake it was her cookies all dressed up for Valentines that though looked yummy...Piko Kuki Guava which is absolutely delicious and totally shareable which will be a great addition to our work flow for the Monday staff...if there's any left lol! I remember at least twice that I came here for ice cream because I thought having ice cream was an easier cheaper choice than buying actual lunch in the food court. And so, I found myself here at this Baskin Robbins ice cream store in the heart of Ala Moana shopping center, near center stage on at least 3 separate times. I just found the time to file a review after so many visits here. Each time, it was either on a chill Saturday or Sunday, since I normally am at Ala Moana for shopping or playing a Pokemon Go event. Sometimes, both on the same day. I would come to this Baskin Robbins store because I was craving ice cream and not wanting to overspend on a real lunch. Maybe ice cream was a better choice at the time, especially due to budgetary constraints, but it did taste good and definitely was delicious. An ice cream treat is good anywhere and anytime. Every time I come here, a nice person is behind the counter and waiting for my order. At least in my experience, it was someone of high school or college and usually a female. I would generally look at what's in the freezers in the store and pick what was in there. My favorites would be the general chocolate or something with chocolate in there. Very rarely I would get something that's not chocolate to sample or treat myself otherwise. The overall experience here at this Baskin Robbins ice cream shop is quite nice. The only issue with this store is when you see random people come in and ask for samples. More than 2 samples that kind of bothers me. But then again, you can't mess with free. When I come here, I usually buy a small pint that's close to $10, which is basically like 3-4 scoops of ice cream that's tightly packed into a pint sized container. A large size is close to $15 and I definitely can't finish that on an empty stomach. While the single and double scoops aren't enough to satisfy my sweet tooth, a smaller pint container that's around a price of a plate lunch is more palatable for me and it fits the bill. Baskin Robbins is one of those brand name ice cream brands that prides itself on being the best at what they do. In my experiences here, the staff here is friendly and awesome. There usually isn't a line generally, so you can get your ice cream purchase pretty quickly. For the most part though, it's nice to grab ice cream here. There's a couple more ice cream spots in the Ala Moana shopping center, with Hagen Daz being the one in the food court near by, but I generally favor Baskin Robbins, due to its simplicity and being cheaper than their competition. And so, if you love ice cream, consider this Baskin Robbins location if you are shopping or want that ice cream fix in Ala Moana shopping center. Baskin Robbins ice cream is priced fairly and competitively. You can get a decent amount of ice cream for around $10 if it's in a take home pint. If you don't want too much calories or just prefer a smaller size, you can do the single scoop or double scoop. Best bet would be to buy the larger container for added value and you could always save it / freeze it for future use too, which is what I did on some occasions. This Baskin Robbins location is located inside the Ala Moana shopping center next to center stage. It's physically located at 1450 Ala Moana Boulevard in Honolulu. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, you have a wonderful option of parking in Ala Moana shopping center. Best bet would be to come here early enough to secure the best parking spot before the mad rush comes in. And if you are like me, many bus routes start or end service at Ala Moana shopping center. You can choose the right one that's for you. And of course, there's always Uber and Lyft if you require that service. And so, if you love ice cream without the fancy, consider Baskin Robbins for your daily ice cream fix. I promise you won't regret coming here. Unfortunately, the employee who made my drink added way too much caramel. All I could taste was caramel, and it completely overpowered the rest of the drink. I thought only a few caramel swirls were supposed to be added. I'm not sure if the employee was new, but someone should train them on the correct way to make this drink.
