Located in the Kamehameha Shopping center next to Times supermarket and a lot of other businesses. We both ordered the mint chocolate chip ice cream and this time I was dissatisfied with the taste and creaminess of the mint chocolate chip, some how it seemed not as creamy as before and more like ice milk and lack the flavor. I thought it might be me? But my wife ordered the same thing and said it wasn't like before? Don't know if they change the recipes or cutting back like a lot of other products to keep within the price point, but if they did their quality has gone down. With this heat they had lines out the door, but the staff was efficient and courteous to get them in and out quickly. Hope this was an isolated incident, because they have build up the name and products they carry!

Gotta love their desserts here. Although you can never be disappointed by all of there options of ice cream and sundaes. I do also enjoy their ice cream cakes and ice cream pizzas I believe it's called pizza polars I could be wrong though. All in all incredible place, great customer service pair with an incredible burst of different flavors when it comes to what mods your in for ice cream flavors.

This BR is located in Kamehameha Shopping Center next to Times & T-Mobile. There handi parking right in front, so super convenient for those with the placard. It's pretty small inside, and has about two or three two-seater tables available. Not really a place to "dine in". There are some outside seating along Times though if wanting to eat right away. There are lots of flavors available and also other options like milkshakes, cakes, coffee, brownies. When I was pregnant I always craved the browny sundaes here. Anyway, the ice cream is always YUMMY! Can't go wrong with ice cream and the different toppings. They offer a small sample if needed, but with COVID, idk if they still offer that. The service is great. Whenever we come to buy cakes, the girls there makes sure the writing is legible and it's nice. The girls itself are nice too. They smile and welcome customers in. Not once have I had bad service, & hoping not to ever. Anyway, definitely come get your dessert fix here!

I've ordered cakes twice this year here's the latest one on December 13, 2023. I went online and let my grandaughter pick what she wanted I took a picture for you to see it was fresh and tasty tremendous. The service is absolutely the best we came in to get a couple scoops of ice cream my husband and I then we asked for the cake I ordered so friendly and helpful. The store is great to sit inside and enjoy our ice cream cones was great to take a little time for our selves and enjoy our ice cream my husband had pistachio I had mocha almond fudge delicious.

Stopped by for a sweet treat after dinner and it was quite crowded! Although they were packed, the staff greeted us with a "welcome" and a warm smile. I got the jamoca almond fudge which is a must try and my boyfriend got the reese's ice cream. The price has definitely gone up from before but in this economy what hasn't. Love supporting businesses where the staff is kind! Will be back!

Hubby and I came here for ice cream. It's buy one ice cream cone and get one half off per the app. I decided on chocolate royale with chocolate chips inside. It tasted like a rocky road except without the nuts and everything. The chocolate wasn't too rich. It was creamy. Hubby said the cone was stale. Mine was okay. It still had a crunch. That is why I always get my ice cream in a cup. I will get a cone if I know the cones are fresh. There's tables inside to sit and enjoy your ice cream. They even sold drinks. Not sure how much that is. I would get ice cream at any Baskin Robbins. Every location has different flavors. I didn't see my favorite which is ube but it depends on the location. Parking is up front.

We were in the area and my son kept bugging me to come here. He had heard about the Creature Creations and wanted to try it. They have three creatures to choose from: mermaid, unicorn, monster. You get to pick one scoop of ice cream to put in the decorated cup. The ice cream is topped with sprinkles and a candy that goes with the creature. He chose cookies and cream in the monster cup. I picked the pumpkin cheesecake in the unicorn cup. They were a little sweet for my taste, but he loved them. He preferred the pumpkin cheesecake and traded with me. It had a nice, but not overpowering pumpkin flavor with a hint of cinnamon.

Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream on a sugar cone! It was T-Mobile Tuesday and one of the weekly specials for customers was $2 off a purchase at Baskin-Robbins. Right away, I knew that I wanted pumpkin ice cream because it's seasonal (it's not always available). I chose to go to the Baskin-Robbins at the Kamehameha Shopping Center in Kalihi because it's near the Honu Bakery where I wanted to get a Choco Bear cake for my brother in law. Parking is free in the shared lot. It kind of tricky because of the one-way traffic pattern and tight parking spaces... just go slowly and pay attention! In the shop, there was a father and son before me which gave me time to snap a few photos. The cozy store was tidy and well air conditioned! Service was efficient and pleasant! I got my Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream on a sugar cone. It was challenging to juggle my phone, face mask, and ice cream cone because the ice cream began to melt - and eating in the shop isn't allowed. Sorry my ice cream dripped on the plastic holder and on the floor! I ate it quickly outside and enjoyed each bite! Thank you to T-Mobile for the Autumn treat! I was really looking forward to this special pumpkin flavor!

Yummmm.... this is a 3 days late review.... just need to recognize the crew that was working that evening!- they were so helpful!!! One of markers that starts customer service is just the welcome at the door or upon entrance - that's perfect! I would definitely recommend visiting here for a special treat! 31 one flavors is where it's at - why the 4 stars and maybe it's just my thing - limited on the sherbet and no daiquiri ice or any flavor ice. Overall Parking is ok there are stalls I recommend the roof top as there is always space. Cleanliness of place is awesome including the ice cream freezer there is no dipping of other ice creams!!! Totally go for it!!! Enjoy the sweet treats! Thank you again for a wonderful experience- definitely will be back soon!

"A favorite ice cream shop in the heart of Kalihi" This is our go-to Baskin-Robbins (BR) location when we have to get a frozen treat. Not the closest location but for easy access, lots of parking and a friendly staff, you can't beat what they have to offer. Located in the Kamehameha Shopping Center at the foot of Kamehameha school, it's a long time tenant of this bedrock shopping center of the Kalihi community. I was introduced to BR when our school band visited the mainland in California, back in the day. The concept of 31 flavors was mind boggling. So impressive to an island bound kid from Kaimuki. For a national chain, they offer great specials like their recent Love & Kisses Sundae for $5. A February special for Valentine's month, you get a triple scoop sundae with Love Potion #31, Very Berry Strawberry and Cherry Cordial with Kisses ice cream flavors. The sundae is topped with the obligatory whipped cream, nuts and three Hershey kisses for each scoop. Now if this doesn't say "I love you" I don't know what does :). A great way for us to share a sweet experience at the end of Valentine's week. On the months that have a 31st day, they have a $1.50 single scoop special. A great treat especially during the summer months. On those days it can get pretty crowded but the times I have seen them in action, the staff has handled it quite well. Patience is the key. BR Kalihi is definitely a good option when you want a cold, sweet treat and are in the area.

    Donna Y.

Nice, friendly workers! $1.50 scoops every 31st day of the month. What a deal! Plenny parking and friendly service! Best to go during off peak times if going on the 31st of the month! Today was a rainy, cloudy day so not so crowded. Ice cream, cakes, shakes and onolicious looking cookies! Satisfy your sweet tooth with a visit today!a Update 3/31/19!! Price increase to $1.70/scoop on the 31st of every month. Still a good deal! Kam shopping center workers at this Baskin Robbins are super friendly!

$5 got me these 2 cups of 2 scoops each
    Terry K.

This Baskin-Robbins location is smaller than most. The flavor variety, the ice cream cakes and othermarrangements however are like most. The parking is plentiful (located in the Kam Shopping Center) The pricing of their products are cheaper than the newer ice cream delicatessens The service is good, employees are personable and helpful offering you a chance to sample first, before making your selection. $1.50 per scoop available on the months with 31 days, on the 31st day! This is quite the deal! Flavor of the month also available, giving you a chance to try their new concoctions Yup! A definite repeat for me!!! 42/100 Yelp Review Challenge Los Angeles

I've seen this place packed before with all tables filled and a line. Weekdays in the afternoon might be good timing! The vibe was your average "ice cream" ambiance. I loved the photos so you can see your options. IMO, the menu board lighting was a little weird, I thought when I was taking a photo it was my eyes, then thought it was the lighting from outside, but I think it's lit by bulbs? Idk. LOL. You can still read the menu but at first glance, you will question if it's your vision. LOL. My "mini" Mahalo-halo was perfect! It didn't make me feel that guilty at all. I mean, I'm all about dessert before a meal. In my experience, it is always a challenge to eat Halo halo because it's filled to the top. My strategy: take off the cover (if it's not overspilling: if it is, skip this step), eat some of the ice cream, and take a few sips! That should leave you enough room to mix everything, each scoop you should get a different bite. A long spoon would be best for the larger sizes! Magnolia did not disappoint. I'll be back!!

There was tons of parking out front so we were glad! It's a cute little shop and I really like the door to go inside. The interior is pretty tight, with a narrow walkway between the seating areas. When we visited, almost every seat was occupied, so we had to make our way to the far end and squeeze past other customers to find a place to sit. There was also an area marked for employees only (at what would have been the front door) and boxes were stacked in front of part of the bench seating, which made the space feel a bit cramped. The menu is very limited, with eight bowl options, all priced at $14.99 and no sign of a standard type shave ice. The portion is large and includes fresh fruit, but there is not a children's size or a smaller, lower-priced option available. If you are looking for a traditional shave ice shop with lots of syrup flavors and the ability to customize a simple shave ice, this probably is not the place for you. We ordered what was essentially the plainest shave ice available, just ice with two flavors, and it was still charged at the same price as the specialty bowls. There was not an option for a basic shave ice on the menu, we had to ask for that (since my son doesn't eat all the extra stuff and only wanted plain strawberry banana flavors) and the flavor selection was fairly limited overall. They were also out of a couple of flavors during our visit, despite already having a relatively small selection (around a dozen total). I also found the ice was not as finely shaved as I expected, and the flavors left an aftertaste. While the portions are bigger (served in a bowl), the price felt high for something that melts quickly. Adding ice cream costs extra, bringing the total close to $20 for a single shave ice. One small thing that stood out to me is that they refer to it as "shaved ice" rather than "shave ice." Visitors may not notice the difference, but in Hawaii, "shave ice" is the traditional local term and part of the culture, so the wording felt a little out of place - and definitely didn't seem local (Everyone we saw seemed to be either a tourist or military). That said, the employees were genuinely friendly, and the shop itself is cute. It may appeal to those looking for specialty fruit-forward creations, but it was not quite what I was expecting from a traditional Hawaii-style shave ice experience, especially given the price point. I did like that they had a little treasure chest for kids to pick a surprise! It was small bubbles but was a fun surprise for my son!

Another colleague and I jumped at the opportunity to tag along on a Friday early afternoon. Located down Umi Street not too far from neighboring New City Nissan on N King Street, Samurai moved to their current location in 1995 serving Maui style sherbet, popcorn and other local snacks. They also expanded to Samurai Snacks Aiea for an impressive 20+ years before closing its doors in May 2023. We arrived shortly after lunch time where we pondered at the menu wondering what to get. It's not fancy here at Samurai - - the storefront is basic and nothing fancy with a few seats patrons can sit on if they decide to eat their treats on premise. Morale has been low at the office so I decided to get some convenient prepackaged 4oz assorted Samurai cups to cheer up the staff. My colleagues also picked up some bags of buttered popcorn with mochi crunch and furikake for an informal office party to welcome the much needed weekend. Because we were already there, we also got some soft serve cups to cool down before heading back to the office. My colleagues had the classic strawberry and blue vanilla swirl and I selected the mango. My colleagues enjoyed their selection but the mango didn't live up to my expectations. The color was vibrant and enticing but sadly the mango flavor did not come through. Each cup came with a sugar roll cookie that was delicious. After our cold treat we headed back to the office with our surprise for our colleagues where it was a big hit. There were many happy faces standing in line grabbing some popcorn and a 4-oz cup of Samurai. Overall, a much better experience with Samurai that's deserving of an update with higher marks. It has been noted in my books to stick to flavors I'm already aware of and avoid trying new ones for that possible disappointment that often happens to me.

I usually select and buy various pint flavors from Foodland Farms Pearl City. Go early because supply will run low during lunch time or early afternoon pending on the seasonal flavors. Follow them via IG for more deets. My son decided to grab a random flavor from our home freezer, Super Li Hing. Without checking the freezer, I asked son, "Did you eat a few scoops or the whole pint?" He responded, "I ate the whole pint." He added, "It reminded him of eating shave ice." I will accept this as a gracious compliment. Infinite gratitude to all of the hardworking staff for creating, executing and producing one of a kind, edible, fun, pint size, local sensations for all to enjoy!

As you can see in one of my photos on this review, they offered a flavor called "Cheezus" which was a cheese ice cream with real cheese-its in it haha! I thought it was pretty unique. Their ice cream is made in house so theyre able to get some pretty great flavors on their menu. The shop is small, but the staff is always helpful. Theyll allow you to sample some flavors if youre unsure of its crazy name! The triple scoop sampler comes on a perfect little serving plate. Easy for sharing. Since this ice cream shop is located in chinatown, parking isn't the greatest at times. There is no designated parking for this ice cream shop but you can hopefully find nearby street parking or go to a nearby parking garage. It's easiest if youre just on foot. All in all, definitely an ice cream parlor worth trying out!

Many different flavors of ice cream. You can have it in a cup or your choice of cone. There's limited seating in the shop. Open in the evenings. Perfect for dessert after dinner in Chinatown. Saw a lot of couples. Perhaps date night- dinner, then get ice cream. The texture of the ice cream is good. I know I will be back.
