After a long day at work I realize that I had my free scoop that was about to run out of time to redeem and scooted over to this Kalihi location in the Kamehameha Shopping Center which I normally don't visit as the parking can be quite challenging though on this visit I did get lucky and found one right beside the shop. Walking in I do love the layout of this location as it's nice and bright everything was clean and the friendliest staff the gentleman was patient as I was indecisive with my choice but did get me a huge scoop of Matcha...lol which was delicious and I really appreciate the generous offer of this sweet treat. Recently visited the Baskin Robbins PC# 348547 location at 1620 North School Street in Honolulu, HI. Would like to thank and acknowledge the two employees working there named Mae Ann and Richard. They were both so helpful, personable, and respectful to me. Their store in the Kamehameha Shopping Center always have great deals and discounts on their products that they share with loyal customers like me. Highly recommend getting your ice cream items from here. At other store locations in town, I find the prices to be quite higher and don't readily share unadvertised discount information to consumers like me. Located in the Kamehameha Shopping center next to Times supermarket and a lot of other businesses. We both ordered the mint chocolate chip ice cream and this time I was dissatisfied with the taste and creaminess of the mint chocolate chip, some how it seemed not as creamy as before and more like ice milk and lack the flavor. I thought it might be me? But my wife ordered the same thing and said it wasn't like before? Don't know if they change the recipes or cutting back like a lot of other products to keep within the price point, but if they did their quality has gone down. With this heat they had lines out the door, but the staff was efficient and courteous to get them in and out quickly. There are lots of flavors available and also other options like milkshakes, cakes, coffee, brownies. When I was pregnant I always craved the browny sundaes here. We were in the area and my son kept bugging me to come here. He had heard about the Creature Creations and wanted to try it. They have three creatures to choose from: mermaid, unicorn, monster. Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream on a sugar cone! It was T-Mobile Tuesday and one of the weekly specials for customers was $2 off a purchase at Baskin-Robbins. Right away, I knew that I wanted pumpkin ice cream because it's seasonal (it's not always available). I chose to go to the Baskin-Robbins at the Kamehameha Shopping Center in Kalihi because it's near the Honu Bakery where I wanted to get a Choco Bear cake for my brother in law. Parking is free in the shared lot. It kind of tricky because of the one-way traffic pattern and tight parking spaces... just go slowly and pay attention! In the shop, there was a father and son before me which gave me time to snap a few photos. The cozy store was tidy and well air conditioned! Service was efficient and pleasant! I got my Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream on a sugar cone. It was challenging to juggle my phone, face mask, and ice cream cone because the ice cream began to melt - and eating in the shop isn't allowed. One of markers that starts customer service is just the welcome at the door or upon entrance - that's perfect! I would definitely recommend visiting here for a special treat! 31 one flavors is where it's at - why the 4 stars and maybe it's just my thing - limited on the sherbet and no daiquiri ice or any flavor ice. Located in the Kamehameha Shopping Center at the foot of Kamehameha school, it's a long time tenant of this bedrock shopping center of the Kalihi community. I was introduced to BR when our school band visited the mainland in California, back in the day. The concept of 31 flavors was mind boggling. So impressive to an island bound kid from Kaimuki. For a national chain, they offer great specials like their recent Love & Kisses Sundae for $5. A February special for Valentine's month, you get a triple scoop sundae with Love Potion #31, Very Berry Strawberry and Cherry Cordial with Kisses ice cream flavors. The sundae is topped with the obligatory whipped cream, nuts and three Hershey kisses for each scoop. Now if this doesn't say "I love you" I don't know what does :). A great way for us to share a sweet experience at the end of Valentine's week. On the months that have a 31st day, they have a $1.50 single scoop special. A great treat especially during the summer months. On those days it can get pretty crowded but the times I have seen them in action, the staff has handled it quite well. Patience is the key. Note: Haagen Daz and Ben & Jerry's didn't exist. This location is the nearest one to my home and I'd stop here when wanting a sweet treat. This is a tiny store that has their ice cream flavors showcased along with pre-packed containers and ice cream cakes. There's about 2 small tables if you wish to eat there. If you go on a regular day they're not that busy and the staff are friendly and attentive. My favorite flavors are green tea (matcha) and cherries jubilee. As a creature of habit I tend to navigate to these two flavors. With the $1.31 per scoop special on the 31st day of the month and I make an effort to stop by. It's hard to turn down a good deal! I find myself doing a double scoop in a cup. Such a great deal! The downside on a busy day is the service. With the anticipation of more foot traffic they have more staff but they're not customer service oriented. While waiting in line I noticed about 6 staff (5 girls 1 boy). Most of the girls huddled together talking and laughing while one girl and the only boy was servicing the customers. I was going to make a comment but didn't want to waste my energy. Since it's in Kam Shopping Center, there's an allotted parking lot so there should be plenty of stalls for you to choose from. I think the first time I actually came here, though, was to try the limited-edition donut ice cream sandwich made with real Dunkin' Donuts and your ice cream flavor of choice inside. I had a coupon for it via the Baskin Robbins mobile app, and I wanted to use it before it expired. The girl had some trouble getting my QR code off my phone for the coupon, but it somehow worked after numerous tries. I was just relieved because I wanted to take advantage of the deal. Donut Ice Cream Sandwich: The donut was one of the smaller varieties from Dunkin' and it didn't taste as fresh as I remembered, but it's the closest I'll get to Dunkin' for now because we don't have them here in Hawaii yet. This flavor features vanilla ice cream mixed in with praline-coated pecan pieces and a caramel ribbon. It's gooey and sticky, but sinfully sweet and I love the crunch from the pecans. OREO Cookies and Cream: Cookies and Cream used to be my favorite flavor as a kid, so I still get it from time to time because I love how this flavor is generously studded with OREOs. It doesn't hurt to smile to the customers. The late night shift of girls have that "hurry up i want to go home" face on. It make me feel uncomfortable to ask for samples and it makes me feel like i am rushed to make a decision. 3. Turning off lights while customers are eating. It was rude that you turned off some lights before warning us about the time. I fee like it would be more considerate for them to say, "excuse me, we are going to be closing in 10 minutes." Give us a warning and we would gladly leave. Don't be shutting off the lights and rushing us out. Overall, this is the closest ice cream shop near my house, and the new young girls here are giving this place a bad name. When you think of an ice cream place, you think of happiness not bitterness.
