My first impression was good..she accommodated fitting me on Tuesday when she was normally not open. We discussed the alterations needed and I paid in in full $238 to take the shoulders in on both dresses. I came to try on and pick up and neither dress fit! The shoulders had been altered is such a weird way It made me look like I was hanging from a meat hook! There were strings hanging and both dresses were a wrinkled mess! I showed her neither dress was wearable.. she agreed that one dress was ill fitting but the other one she seemed ok with.??? I asked her to redo them and needed to pick them up a day later as she was going on vacation and our schedules didn't coordinate after.. I picked up my dresses on Wednesday.. The one dress was improved but not great.. my other dress is a total loss.. it has been hacked apart re sewn with puckers gaps and strings hanging..She never came back out from her sewing room to ask me about the ruined dress or anything?( she was hiding I know she knew she had ruined the dress) Maybe once long ago she had skills but they are not there anymore.. She was rude and dismissive and could have cared less. I am seeking a refund for the alterations on one dress plus damages or replacement if the ruined dress.. I am considering small claim court my total damages were $650 read more

I found Cindy through google. Her work is beautiful. She repaired the lining of my 30-year-old skirt when it was not in our discussion AND she did not add to the cost. This is Outstanding Customer Service. She said she could not let the skirt go unless she had done a professional job. My dad was a tailor. I needed a bridesmaid dress hemmed and taken in. It cost me over $150 for the services which seems like a lot and it took over three weeks. They did apologize for being behind which was fine and I appreciated. My dress was a bit hard to zip after being altered because there was fabric lumped around the zipper area and it kept getting caught. Also, as a fair warning, they do charge a $5 rush fee if you need the item before when they are currently set to have things done by. So even if they are 4 weeks out and you need something in 3 weeks out, they will charge you the fee-so I would go incredibly early. It was fine, but I might try other places before going back here because it seemed expensive but maybe they all are that much. read more

Cindy really helped our family out making bridal tops for the bridesmaids of my daughters wedding. She really came thru for us as we were on a tight schedule! She went above and beyond. Needed a lace dress with a scalloped edge hemmed. She "reset the lace" and retained the scalloped hemline! Perfect result, handled efficiently and at a fair price given the complexity of the work. If I could give 0 stars I would. Cups just tacked in. Have paid less for a bridesmaid dress to be altered with the multiple layers and the cups were sewn under the lining instead of tacked in 3 places. That is something I could have done on my own instead of paying a total of $94 to have this dress "altered". The "seam" to see the front sewn together looks as though it was done blindfolded or in the dark. In the natural light the thread even looks blue compared to the black fabric of the dress. Cindy was supposed to call me back regarding a refund and instead of calling me herself, her brand new staff member had to be the one to call. Then Cindy herself is talking in the background to have her relay the message to me. This is someone that I did not need to even be talking with as it was Cindy that dealt with my dress alterations. I felt so bad for her employee and apologized that she was in the middle of this. Cindy insisted I bring the dress back in for her to take the stitch out. I could easily take it out myself. Will never go here again! Not only because of the poor quality work but because of the customer service that was the worst I have experienced. read more

Upon walking into the establishment, Cindy looked me up and down without a word. I told her I needed a dress hemmed. She proceeded to tell me that the job would be too expensive for me, and that she "didn't think that I was born in this country and could afford it". Ironic, receiving such blatant racism from another minority. By all means be sure to give Cindy your business if you are able to stomach this sort of behavior. read more

I have been to Cindy's in the past and have been satisfied with the work...not this time! The experience turned out to be a nightmare-horrible work (I had to return twice to have the simple hemming of a dress re-done). After the second re-do it is still wrong, looks awful and was charged an outrageous price for this nonsense. I now have to go somewhere else and pay for them to fix the work. On top of all this the shop was filthy, the language barrier was difficult and I was treated very rudely. Needless to say I will have any further tailoring I need done elsewhere! read more

I have been taking many items to Cindy for years such as pants, shirts, coats, etc all with various needs and she had done them all phenomenally! So it was no surprise that I would take my wedding dress to her and again, she worked magic. I am 5' 1/2", a 38H bust and size 8 waist, so imagine the magic that has to be worked on clothing to get it to fit me, let alone fit me well! Unfortunately, I had a negative experience at Cindy's. I brought a bridesmaid dress in that needed to be taken in as it was too large. They were able to take it in and it was done in a week- which was a great turn-around time! It was a lot more than I anticipated though (I called before going in to ask about price ranges, and even the highest price they gave was lower than what I had to pay). When I tried the dress on at home after it was picked up, it would not zip up. It wasn't because it was too tight, but the zipper was no longer working and I had no trouble at all with the zipper before taking it in. I took the dress back the next day. Cindy immediately said it wasn't their fault and said the zipper was always broken. She tried a few things, but eventually the zipper broke off completely. They ended up replacing the zipper for me, but also charging me again to do so. When I tried the dress on at home after picking it up the final time- the zipper still wouldn't work! Proving it was never the zipper, but something in the way they tailored the dress that made the zipper not work. I was very frustrated and had to pay over $100 for a simple dress tailoring. I was just upset at the way the situation overall was handled. read more

Well, I have been going to Cindy's since I moved here in 2005. I will never go back. A few months ago, I had two pairs of dress pants hemmed. One of the hems came out and I took them to Cindy to have it redone. She stated that the hem was not her work, not her thread and she did not do it. I stated that, yes, in fact, she had done the them....she again stated the same thing. I could not believe the audacity of this woman. I was very upset as I have loved all of the work that she has provided me over the years. Obviously, she lacks customer service and honesty. I took a bridesmaid dress there to be altered per a recommendation of a friend and needed it in a rush. They said is was only a $2 charge for a RUSH service, which I thought was crazy cheap so I assumed the prices would be reasonable. After she did the fitting, she told me it was going to be $102 because it had to be taken in drastically and hemmed, so even though I thought that was a bit much, it had to be done. I went to pick up today and she only hemmed and took in the top, not the bottom. So now it looks dumb and once I asked why, she didn't do the bottom, she said it was $40 more and she didn't know I wanted that done?! What?! Of course I wanted that done!!! AHHH. Then as I am paying I notice a stain, that was not there when I dropped off. I mention it and she said it looks like my 3 week old nail polish that had rubbed off. OK no. Then she said it was maybe some lotion I was wearing...umm no. So then she tries to get it out and I notice on the other side by the seam, another stain. She tried to tell me it was chalk. The lady is crazy! I asked for a 20% discount to pay for RUSH cleaning and she said no. I then called my cleaners and asked for the price of an unknown stain removal and then told her that was how much she was going to take off. What a mess...don't use them.
