The gigantic, amazingly delicious gluten-free pancake.
    Helen D.

We were in the 'Boro to have lunch and one of our party has a gluten sensitivity. 'cille & 'scoe was unfamiliar to me, but they have several gluten-free options. So incredibly glad that we gave this place a try. It's in an old storefront on Elm in downtown Greensboro which gives it an eclectic vibe. Everyone was very pleased with the food and service! Our waitress, Jordan, was super sweet and happily discussed menu choices and offered suggestions. She also was great at setting expectations because everything is scratch made. This is not fast food! The pulled pork is some of the best I've had in NC. The hash was delicious. Nothing but compliments on the Belgian waffle with a Texas Pete marinated, then fried and glazed with honey, piece of chicken. We started with the The Four, deviled eggs four ways. My fave is definitely the Buffalo blue. The most amazing thing, though, is the gluten-free pancake! It's the size of a dinner plate and about an inch thick. NOT dense or crumble like a lot of gluten-free foods. Tender, fluffy, slightly sweet on its own without the syrup. We were all in awe! Definitely a place we will go back to so we can try more things!!!

So much potential, just not the right night. 'Cille and 'Scoe is charming, creative, and feels like it should be at least a 4 or even a 5-star experience. We came in on a quiet Thursday evening, only a few tables and one incredibly hardworking server doing it all, including the bar. Props to her for holding it down! Drinks were excellent. My old fashioned was smooth and balanced, and my wife's mocktail was vibrant and fun. Apps were a mix. Deviled eggs were underwhelming, and the fried okra was heavy on the breading without much spice. But the pimento cheese dip it came with stole the show -- rich, creamy, and gone in minutes. Mains is where it fell apart. I had the house-made pasta with filet and truffle -- great concept, but the pasta was dry and felt like it was made a while ago with barely any sauce. The filet was cooked well, but not enough to carry the dish. My wife's prawn scampi had great flavor, but the crostini underneath was so oil-soaked it was limp. We found out they had just switched from their spring to summer menu, and honestly, it showed. Some dishes still felt like leftovers from the old menu, and when you're charging $40 for pasta, it needs to be a finished product, not a transition piece. Either serve it right or don't let it be an option on the menu. The bones of a great restaurant are here: creative cocktails, fun atmosphere, a team that clearly cares. We'll be back when the menu has found its rhythm, because when this place is on, I bet it's truly special.

I was really excited to try this restaurant since it had been on my list for quite a while. When we first arrived, the waitress gave us the history behind the restaurant and asked if we were attending a show at Tanger. We told her we were and she said she was going to note that to make sure we could make it. Given that we arrived at the restaurant at 6 pm for our reservation and the show started at 8 pm, I didn't think we would have any issue; well I was wrong. Everything took so long that we ended up skipping dessert because we would have been late to the show. Even with skipping dessert, we still barely made it in time. The location we were seated was the back two person table right before their back room. That night there was a large party for a graduation celebration in the back room. When people from that room would try to go to the restroom, my husband would have to get out of his seat so they could pass through. Given the price you pay for food here, you shouldn't be having to be squeezed in a seat next to a wall that requires you to move. I don't know if this was unusual for that night but it smelled so bad! I kept trying to figure out if it was the party in the back room who had someone who smelled or if it was coming from the kitchen which seemed to be right behind the wall behind me. Seeing another review that said it smelled like rotten sewer made me feel better that I wasn't crazy. I actually felt like I was smelling a weird mix of hair salon toner and something spoiling. You can imagine this made it hard to enjoy my experience. As for overall feel, it is not what I expected. Given the prices I saw online, I was expecting a fancy, romantic vibe. My husband and I were dressed up to go to the show and felt overdressed. I started by ordering the Dreamsicle cocktail. It was delicious! If you like an Orange Julius, you would like this cocktail. It was like a dessert. My husband got two cocktails, Honey Plum Sour which he really liked and the Brown Butter New Fashioned which was presented with a show of smoke under glass. Between the two he liked the Honey Plum Sour better. I do recommend the cocktails here. As for the food, we ordered The Four (deviled eggs) as an appetizer. Given the price of the deviled eggs was $18, I was surprised to see that it was only 4 halves (2 eggs!). Yes, it was called The Four so I should have known better but I guess maybe I thought it would have been 4 eggs (2 for each flavor). I love deviled eggs but these were all just okay. The garlic and basil one was the best of the four but even that one was just okay. For my dinner entree, I ordered the "This Pasta" which is pasta with filet mignon and black truffle. The dinner entree was actually really good but due to it being a little salty for my taste, I had a hard time finishing it. However, the flavor was good and the filet was tender. Overall, my inclination is not to return and try something else.

Our waiter told us that everything was prepared fresh that it would take time to get our order. We appreciated him being upfront and when the wait was over there was nothing better than a good biscuit straitght from the oven. Overall, there was a relaxed and cozy vibe to the place. It was a great way to start the day!

After hearing good things about this restaurant, I finally made my way here. I dined here alone. Although they have outdoor seating, I opt to sitting at the bar. The tables are for 2 or more. The space is narrow tables hold 2-4 people. Also, it's most barstools. Chair Abe bench seating are at the front in the bay window area. The bartender gave me the history of the restaurant, and 90% of everything sourced is within NC. All food is in house, made from scratch. Because of this, it does take longer for your meal to be served. They also change the menu seasonally. I picked Hen+Bread, which is chicken and waffles, along with eggs. It's all a la carte, by the way. They do serve sample size complimentary foods. Since it's spring, I received 2 strawberry lemon pound muffins. They were so good. I also ordered the Honey Plum Sour cocktail, which was amazing. The eggs were alright. It needed salt for me, but decided against it. Now the chicken and waffles??? It was amazing. So yummy and savory. It's glazed with honey and just so good. I did not use any extra condiments. I will definitely return because there's plenty on the menu I'm willing to try.

I booked a reservation online for Valentine's weekend only a week beforehand and they still had spots available. Excited because I heard good things about this place. When we got there we were seated by a wall that smelled pretty bad. Not sure what it was but we had to ask to move to another section to get away from it. The ambience was great otherwise. I loved all the paintings and decor. The service was also out of this world. Loved hearing about the story of the owner. Be prepared to wait for the food. They warn you that it takes a while because everything is made from scratch but it really does take a long time. The food was good (not great), but for the price I expected a lot more in terms of taste and portion sizes.

Cille and Scoe -- Greensboro, NC First of all, wow. This restaurant is hands-down one of the best I've been to in a long time. Cille and Scoe gives you that deep Southern, at-home feeling -- like stepping into your grandma's kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. I haven't tasted collard greens this good since my grandma made them for me years ago. And those little cornbread muffins? Absolutely divine. Every single ingredient feels intentional and full of flavor. You can literally taste the love in every bite. My fiancé and I have been here twice now, and we will be Back! The owners are warm, kind, and truly care about their guests. You can tell the staff loves what they do -- there's a joy and pride in every part of the experience, and it shows. Each time we've come, we've been treated like family. The environment is cozy and welcoming, with music that sets the perfect vibe -- not too loud, just right for good conversation. The presentation is beautiful too: fresh flowers plated with each meal reveals their culinary expertise and creativity. Also, I love that all the seating is different but somehow still cohesive, giving it a true cozy vibe. Everything about Cille and Scoe is special -- from the food, to the people, to the atmosphere. No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. Greensboro has a gem right here, and I can't recommend it enough.

I have had my eye on Cille & Scoe for a while now and just recently had an opportunity to visit! It was an amazing & immersive experience! The ambiance is warm & welcoming...giving the feeling of walking into a familiar home. Everything is made to order, from scratch!!! The service is friendly and excited about the restaurant offerings. They do share a disclaimer that given the nature of their restaurant, service takes longer than a typical sit-down place. Lots of produce comes directly from the owner's farm or local NC farms and the freshness is definitely recognized! The menu changes with the seasons so you can try something new very often. This summer they are even serving Black Magnolia cinnamon buns which are local as well! Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Plan to go with someone you want to enjoy a nice long conversation with and soak in the slower pace of service. It was refreshing to not feel the rush. Can't wait to go back!

We were not very optimistic that we'd snag a table during peak brunch hours but we were sat relatively quickly. In true big backed fashion, we had trouble deciding what to order. Our waitress was spot on with the recommendations. I ordered the special of the day (a biscuit with brisket, egg, cheese, and housemade sauce), but as advised by the waitress, I had to replace the brisket with corned beef since they were out. MAN! I have no idea what they did to that corned beef but it was the best I've ever had. And that sauce! Wow. Spicy and sweet, and I'd never guess that it contained carrots. We also ordered a sweet potato cinnamon roll. Some dishes inspire the chef in me and this was one of them. Simple yet creative and delicious. The fish filet sandwich was amazing. I've never had ciabatta that soft. Perfectly fried fish, fresh, and not too greasy. Still thinking about that pancake as I write this over a month later... My cocktail, the Sweet Potato Martini, was quite what I expected in reading its description, but I still liked it. Can never go wrong with a mimosa flight - loved all flavors. Great playlist at a tolerable volume. Clean and genderless restrooms. Friendly and fun staff. Can't wait to go back!

The food might take a while to get to your table, but the flavors will make it worth it. I wanted a real Southern brunch while in Greensboro and Cille and Scoe's menu was most exciting to me. I'm glad I made a reservation ahead of time because the place was packed out for Saturday brunch with a waitlist. The kitchen was definitely a little overwhelmed because our server had to come over like 3 times to let us know our food was on its way-- we probably got our food a good hour after we put in our orders. Once it all hit the table though we dug into shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles. Both were full of flavor, generously portioned, and the heavy flavors left us very sated for hours. I loved the cranberry beer and bloody mary I tried here too. Despite the kitchen being slow our server was so friendly and I appreciated the multiple check-ins. I don't like it when a business doesn't acknowledge when the wait times are going to be longer than anticipated. It's super cute inside, with hanging lights and beautiful art on the walls.

    The Biscuit Board!
    Jo T.

The food was excellent, service was great! We ordered the biscuit board and the flavors and textures were sensational. The sausage gravy night be the best I've ever had, and the artisan game was a melt in your mouth good. Our server was enthusiastic about the menu and it was clear she was proud of the restaurant. My advice? Eat here! And ask for Kay - she's great! The one comment I would make on the biscuit board is to include an additional biscuit. We ran out of biscuits way before we ran out of toppings. So we ordered a side of biscuits and then we had way too many! Just a tweak to get the ratio right and it would be perfect.

Wow wow wow!! If you haven't been to Cille & Scoe's, you're missing out!! Service is top tier! So clean and cute inside. And the food?? Omg I can't pick what I liked more?! The biscuits might be the best I've ever had! Meat was so tender. Waiter was fabulous. 5/5 recommend and will be back!

    Fall into Beets salad
    Mark S.

I have wanted to enjoy a meal at Cille and Scoe and we finally made reservations and enjoyed brunch. First off the staff, and I mean everyone we encountered, was upbeat, friendly and attentive. Clearly that is the culture here or a coincidence of cosmic proportions. My wife and I went two very different ways for our brunch meal. I went for their inhouse made corned beef hash while my wife opted for a beet salad. The portions are generous. My hash was killer, and the star was the corned beef. There were tender chunks throughout. I went for the eggs over easy which was perfect to have enough yolk to mix throughout the hash. The potatoes and onions had a crispiness, and the rosemary aioli brought it all together. It tastes as good as it looks in the picture I have included. My wife had the Fall into Beets salad. It is presented on a bed of arugula and along with the beets there are roasted pistachios, goat cheese and the dressing is s mint yogurt vinaigrette. An incredibly fresh looking and tasting plate of greens. She loved the beet carpaccio approach as well. The one caveat if you plan to visit Cille and Scoe is to be patient. Service and their attention to you is prompt. The meals are made to order, so it takes bit longer that some other establishments. The thing is, the wait is more than worth it when your patience is rewarded with an amazing plate of quality, flavorful, beautifully presented food. Nuff said!

This wasn't my first time having the collard sausage dip and I could eat it with my hands it was so delicious freshly made and creamy ! The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

Cocktail Cove has become one of my favorite regular spots in downtown Greensboro. It's definitely a…read moresmall space, but that's part of the charm, cozy, intimate, and the kind of place where you can actually relax and enjoy a great cocktail. I like visiting on Friday nights for after date drinks. The atmosphere is great too. There are candles always burning, which gives the whole bar a warm, laid-back glow, and the flamingos add a fun, slightly quirky touch that makes the place feel memorable and unique. The cocktails are consistently excellent. You can tell the bartender really cares about what they're making and you can ask for modification and they will give them to you. Everything is balanced, creative, and thoughtfully put together. Whether you order something from the menu or ask for a classic, it's always spot on. The prices are great for the quality, usually $15-$20 for a cocktail, which feels completely fair for craft drinks like these. One of my favorite details is the playlist. It's always so good -- a mix of current hits and those deep cuts you forgot you loved, and it somehow always fits the vibe perfectly. It is in downtown Greensboro, so be prepared for parking as it is not nearby. Great drinks, great music, candles glowing, and it's the kind of place that makes you want to stay for just one more round. I'll visit again soon.

Unique, charming, and simply fun - this is our new favorite cocktail bar in GSO. After moving to…read moreWinston we lost touch of the GSO cocktail scene so Cocktail Cove is "new" to us, and we can't stop going back. Every drink has been phenomenal and we love sitting at the bar and chatting with/learning from the owner. He is a master of his craft for sure. Do yourself a favor and step in here, saddle up to the bar, and order a couple rounds.
