Oyster appetizers!

My best friend & I did our bestie date here last week. She was visiting from California and wanted good food, drinks, hookah and a vibe... Ciel did not disappoint!!!!!! We found them on Instagram, but were a little hesitant after reading the reviews, soooo glad we decided to still give it a chance! I wish I could remember our waitresses name (brown skin, long braids, pretty smile.. Asia, I think), anywho she was GREAT! Thank you girl, we had a time!

Guys, read the reviews...it's all true!! Place is empty...there is no experience or entertainment like their website claims. We went tonight. Their website states on Thursdays they have entertainment starting at 9pm. I read the reviews/warnings before going and thought well maybe we will just give this place a try. Trust the reviews. Customers should be aware. Just like the other reviews mentioned the menu has been cut in half. Price does not match what is offered.

I won a trip!

The first time I ever experienced Ciel was a Black and Gold Yelp Elite event a couple years back. It was incredible. This time, I returned for an event we were hosting with the Houston Millennials networking committee. It was a great event but it was incredibly hot with the turnout we expected even though they had smoke amount of time to get cooling details all worked out for such a large crowd. Oddly enough, the drinks were flowing and people were ordering a few appetizers but I was told that they were just ok. Valet, as you can imagine, took a super long time to retrieve cars. So, if you were in a rush, forget about it! I still think that Ciel is a stunning location for great photos and nice fine dining experience. Next time, I was to go on a "regular night" without an organization to see how my experience is then.

Stopped in after DEB Houston to wind down the night! Great vibes! Good food! Fun times!!!

Congratulations! Here is the BRUNCH review you've all been waiting for. If you were like me and unsure if that you wanted to spend your Sunday brunch hour at CIEL, I will tell you that it's worth the experience. Great vibe and ambiance! No shows or performances like at dinner, but it is an R&B brunch with a DJ. The DJ SLAPPED, so come ready to chair dance with your friends and lovers throughout the meal Food gets a solid 4 stars and was all recommended by our waitress, Jenni. We had the Chicken and Waffles, Chicken and French Toast, Eggs, Bacon, Roasted Potatoes, the Catfish and grits, and the bread pudding. The chicken and the grits were sooooo damn good. I wish I had more. The oxtails also looked scrumdiddlyumptious also What sucks is that there are basically no appetizers on the menu #fail. Pictures on the menu are in my review. 5 star service from Jenni! She really made the whole experience great for us. She was so sweet and so funny! She was very attentive, helpful, and ensure we were enjoying ourselves. She recommended all of our entrées and recommended the best cocktails. Pay for better champagne with that mimosa or pay with a headache, fyi . Request Jenni as your server, won't disappoint! Brunch is a new offering for CIEL, so there is a lot of room to improve. Would love to come back if they put some apps on the menu.

Oxtails w/ grits and asparagus

The restaurant is beautiful. We went when they first opened so it was regular music being played. The food was decent we could have done without the bouquet of flowers. The grits were very good, but the oxtails were a little tough. They did ask if we wanted something else. Our server was very good and attentive. The chicken was crispy and large, the waffle soft and sweet. Parking was another story! Why they charge you to valet when you have a handicap placard is beyond me. I've never had that happen before. It make be a thing, but that was my first time experiencing it.

My only expectation for Ciel was a boujee, nightlife lounge vibe--I didn't have high hopes for the food. From the moment we arrived, the aesthetics were picture-perfect, just as I had imagined! However, we did have to wait about 10 minutes in a corner before being seated at our reserved table. Once seated, we were lucky to have an amazing waiter. Despite being a large group, he got every order right and remained sweet and attentive the entire time. To my surprise, the food exceeded my low-key expectations. I ordered the filet and grilled octopus, and both were great. The steak, cooked to a perfect medium, was incredibly tender--no sawing required as my knife glided right through. The octopus was also impressive: thick, high-quality, and flavorful. My only disappointment was the missing smashed potatoes that were promised on the menu (¯\(ツ)/¯). As the night progressed, more people started showing up--mostly for drinks--adding to the lively atmosphere. Ciel is definitely a vibe, perfect for a date night or a fun evening out with the girls!

We had the best time at CIEL! There's valet at the front. When you enter, there's plenty picture opportunities. Highly recommend getting a reservation, matter fact... you need one. They were so so busy when we arrived. There was a group of 7 of us and we had minimal wait with a reservation. It was literally packed in there though. No matter where you stood, you would feel the person next to you, walking by you or just talking behind you. When seated we were greeted immediately by our server who was so fun and a whole vibe in himself. He was great. Food was good. Pretty pricey. Drinks were good and strong. Pretty pricey too though. There was loads of different cultures and people in CIEL which was a great vibe and the performers were cute, danced great and lighting really played a good part. Music was on point. We all honestly had a great time. We spent $1300 with tip for a table of 7 to give you an idea.

A group of us were having a Galentine's weekend celebration and we decided to have dinner here. The experience for us began outside with an amazing photo opportunity. I can say that the atmosphere, ambiance, and entertainment are what makes this place great. There aren't many food options for those who are picky eaters, but the drinks, music, singing, and performances made it very enjoyable. Our server did help me in making an adequate food choice and I definitely appreciate that service.

I celebrated my friend's birthday at CIEL and experienced attentive service throughout the entire time! Our server Kay was very attentive, helpful, and made the birthday girl feel special with a free drink! Kay had a great personality and made the experience very enjoyable. What we ordered : Chef's Five Course Culinary Journey (not sure if this is limited time or year round) $75 per person 1st course : Oysters & Pearls 2nd Course : Spicy Yellowtail Maki 3rd course : Lobster Ravioli 4th course : Petit Filet 5th Course : Snick (dessert) Cocktails ordered : - Blood orange Margarita - Mademoiselle - Ciel 75 (returned this drink due to very poor presentation & exchanged for a bloody Margarita) The interior is very nice, very spacious, they have a vibrant fun night life where you have music, bottle girls with signs. If you go earlier when they open before dark out, the ambience is more calm. Once nighttime hits it's more of a nightclub as the server said, louder music, darker setting, brighter lights even in the ceiling. It's a different experience compared to your typical special occasion dinner or date night dinner out. This could be fun for a birthday occasion or special celebration!

Sabrenia L.

The place was very nice with a leaking roof. The vibes were nice but did not advertise reservation required!!! The location of my table since I didn't have a reservation was dark and lonely . I couldn't see the stage for live entertainment or just the great view to accompany the vibes. The price of the food was not an issue....my issues is at the end when it's cash out time. My waiter could not provide me a receipt. I left my card with my daughter who accepted that answer while I was in the restroom. I don't like conflict so I'll just say I learned my lesson this time.

Looking for a fun place to dance (preferably on tables) for my 40th birthday with a group of girls? Is this it?

Yea this place will let you do it Friday and Saturday nights

What time do the shows/ performances start? Or is it rotating throughout the night?

Typically around 8-9pm the women will begin dancing and singers will start.

So I've read a lot of mixed reviews and am now a little hesitant to book a party of 3 on a Tuesday night. Can someone confirm whether there are additional charges beyond your actual order and 20% gratuity?

Hello Currently from what I've seen they are not open on Tuesday evenings. They are open from Wednesday till Sunday in the evenings only. They have valet parking which is… Read more

Can you bring your own bottle?

No. They have a full bar

Is there a dance floor?

No, but you can dance at your table or there's a little fountain in the middle people were standing on dancing

The fancy dinner spot we went to let us down with bad music and horrible drinks and this spot made the night so much better. I got on Yelp and found Atlas which was a short drive from where we are. It is in a big strip of businesses that share a parking lot. This particular place offers valet but there is plenty of parking a short distance from the front. Customer service was cool. Our waitress checked in on us frequently and was really nice. It was karaoke night so there was a lively DJ that kept the crowd interested. It was a weeknight so we knew the late hour crowds were going to be light. The bar across from here had zero customers and were trying to get people in. Atlas on the other hand had a small, but lively crowd. The first thing that stood out to me was the large patio. It had alot of seating with a huge screen playing basketball. I would totally come back just for the patio on a gameday. Inside was a small space with a bar in the middle and a DJ booth off to the side. I will say the booths were super tight and was snug for the guys in the group. Our petite ladies fit in but felt it was a little restricting. The younger crowd around the lounge were sitting on top of the seats. I guess that's what the cool kids do. After paying outrageous prices for mediocre drinks at dinner, this place was very refreshing with good drink specials and drinks that were properly made. I took advantage of the gin and tonic special they had that night. The drinks came out in cool, light up glasses. We didn't stay super long but enjoyed the time we were there. Drinks were good and we got to shake our booties a little. I don't frequent alot of clubs or lounges these days, but I wouldn't rule out coming here again.

It was $10, which isn't terrible, but still something to keep in mind. The weather was too nice to pass up, so we grabbed a spot on the patio and the vibes were definitely there. Our server was super sweet, but it did take a little while to get her attention since it was pretty busy. Not a huge issue though--other staff members were helpful whenever we needed something. Food? No complaints at all everything was good. The hookah was okay--we've definitely had better, but it still did the job. They also came out and sang happy birthday to our girl, which made the night feel extra special Overall, good vibes, good food, and a fun birthday celebration. I'd come back!

The inside seating is nice and cozy with good music and the patio/rooftop is very nice. The cocktail menu has some variation for most palettes and are all reasonably priced. I ordered the Roma which was very good. The bubbles from the kombucha give it a nice subtle effervescence. The spiced rum and blood orange mesh very well together making for a great drink. My friend ordered the Lavender Cucumber Collin's. This drink didn't really put the lavender on the forefront which lead to it getting lost by the cucumber, same for the crème de violets, absent. The drink was overall refreshing and tasty to her standards. She let me know it was quite strong also, which she prefers. She also ordered the kale Caesar and really enjoyed it. It was perfectly sauced to her liking. Service was okay. Looks like there was only 2 people working for a midday shift around 2 o clock. But no complaints. Salad and drinks came out pretty quickly. The place was pretty empty, definitely looks like I could hold a nice little crowd. Overall a solid 4 stars and warrants a repeat visit so I can try out the food and appetizers.

We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail.
