We came here for celebratory cocktails, because it was our first time in Paris we were staying near ciel, so it was perfect !! One of the best views of Paris, u can see the effeil tour (tini) all sparkly & shiny !! This place has one of the best views in the city. If you go try to go at night to see the amazing light of the Eiffel tower make sure you get a window seat. The food is great but the portion sizes was small I can blame that on USA bigger is better Not at this place so many flavors. I had the best mojito I have ever had at this place. WHY NOT JUST HAVE THE INTERNET RESERVATION SYSTEM SAY THAT ..? What I expected to be one of the bigger events of our vacation was ruined due to them not actually noting that small change in the online reservation. Called to make the change and they couldn't.. and instead of being apologetic were rude. Rather than go up to the Eiffel Tour, or take the tour of the Tour Montparnasse, it was much easier - and cheaper - to go the Le Ciel de Paris and order a cup of coffee for EUR8 and just take in the view from the air-conditioned comfort of the cafe. Sure, prices here aren't cheap, but even though we were clearly tourists only planning to have just the one drink, the waitstaff didn't harass us to leave at any one point during our visit on a Monday morning. I didn't come back here for the jazz, but I can imagine this place would be great as a jazz lounge in the evenings. read more

Service could be better for a place where the food and drinks are very pricey. Doesn't live up to UK service. I would also say that there are some scummy people in there!...I accidentally left my iphone 4 in the toilet and it was stolen! We have taken a few guests here. If you read below you will see a mixed bag, some people love it, others are not as impressed. I have heard some complaints about the hefty price tag of this place. The solution is simple. Come for lunch between Monday-Saturday and have their Menu Gourmand, which runs only 35 euros, and is pretty good. I had a nice cheese/vegetable mille feuille like starter and a seafood puff pastry as my main, and a café gourmand to finish. There are also safe choices on the set menu: ie, foie gras or terrine to start, a (small-ish) steak as the main and sorbet or chocolate cake for dessert. The food was good. Better than your run of the mill brasserie, not as good as my favourite joints. But you are there for the view anyway. Considering the fact that you would otherwise pay 15 euros to go to the top floor anyway (though granted up there you get a 360 degree view, but you'd spend most of your time taking pictures of the Eiffel tower anyway), overall this is pretty good. The view is worth it however... We didn't have a reservation but they said that wasn't a problem. Well... we waited an hour a a half in the "lobby" which is really just the elevator hallway with about 25 other people (who had reservations). When we finally got in, the restaurant was practically empty. Service was almost nonexistent, we literally had to get up and find a server. Food was fine. Best view in all Paris! It is the perfect place when having international guests. I took my friends from Ecuador and we loved the view!! It is breathtaking! Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time in order to get a good view, because that is what you pay for. Food is okay, not too good nor too bad. Service is very very slow. If yelp and all other sites lists this restaurant as a tourist attraction with a snack bar quality good, I agree with the 4 stars. But as for it being a restaurant, what a major disaster. White asparagus, over cooked and lumpy. The plate looked like someone threw up all over it. The langostine is frozen, flesh falls apart like sand in your mouth. Abvious sign. The fish, sea bass, disappointment continues. Walk down to your local fish monger, get a filet of sea bass, brush with olive oil, sprinkle salt, oven @350 for 20 min - and you have fish that's miles better than what's being served here. Sad sad sad. Let's see what else comes out of this kitchen. I'm still dining here. If anything good pops up, I'll revise my review. Otherwise, get as far away from this place as possible. read more

i came here a couple years ago and all i can say is W O W!! the view was stunning and the food is delicious. i ordered salmon and to this day, that salmon is the very best salmon i've ever had in my entire life!! from what i remember, i had no problem with the staff. one thing is that if you do go when the sun is setting, be sure to bring sunglasses since it's can get really bright and hard to see haha. read more

This is the worst meal I've ever had. From the bad lobster soup to the strange asparagus dish, everything was terrible. Then came the main course, couldn't even cut the duck and the sea bass came with the same sauce as the duck. How is that possible??? One is meat and one is fish??? Service was bad as well. We then wait for about 10 minutes & ask the guy at the bar for a drink, he says no and then no one else talked to us.. we left & it was not a good vibe. This resto was deifinitely recommended by a friend that lives in Paris. Thought they are pricey, it is so much worth it. The view is to die for and the service is so awesome! The staffs are so polite and friendly I stayed there working on my computer. They dont have a WIFI but you cant get a Free Wifi with Orange and work your life away if you can. I had lunch and it was an amazing day so I was able to have a view of the EIffel Tower. I will definitely go back there again for drinks or food. See you soon! read more

Amazing restaurant! The service is great, everyone is very friendly. The view is breathtaking. Photos really don't do it justice. Request a table with a view/window seat when you make reservations! You can't be guaranteed you'll get it (have to spend $180/person to guarantee it) but if you at least request it and its available, you'll get it. We did, luckily! But we saw people that came in and asked for it upon arrival and were declined. So make sure to ask ahead of time. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. Attire is dressy, though there was a good mix of casual and dressy. (I think dressy is certainly more appropriate though!) The food is great. We loved every course. Also, try to make reservations for around sunset. Great view during the day with the sunset and then at night once it's set. Overall a gorgeous place and was a wonderful night. read more

Nice restaurant with beautiful views of the city. The restaurant is located in the tallest building in Paris-aside from the Eiffel-as per the tour guide at the Eiffel Tower, this blue building is considered the middle finger of Paris, LOL. The ambience was very nice, very classy but the food was not as expected. It was recommended by a close friend and one of the best restaurants in Paris but we were not impressed. After eating at 5 star restaurants in the states, you will not be impressed here. Views were great and food was decent. read more

The waiters look lost and float around with no purpose never checking in to see if you need anything else. One party at the table waited 10 minutes for utensils to eat after the food arrived. We wanted to eat in the Eiffel Tower,but our concierge said it "was not possible" so he recommended this place. It's indeed high up in the sky and you can't help but look out the window and see the EifflelTower right in front of you. It is very pricey and we had a bit of bad service located at a table next to the kitchen didn't help. They seemed to keep forgetting to bring us our food and the waiter recognized the poor service and ordered free Champagne for our table which was very nice, but for $200 Euro meal, you expect them to be a little better on top of their game. I had the Lobster soup - famous soup for the "heaven in Paris" and it was all you could eat, so eat a lot as they are skimpy on the Lobster...it's in there somewhere, but you have to really scrape for it - and it's in a sea urchin base - haven't had that yet, didn't cause any hives, so it was good to go. For the DEUX part of the menu - I had the fillet - with an accent on the petite - you get the portions you hear about in the US you are supposed to eat here and it actually was plenty for me, but some Americans might be expecting Outback or something - this isn't what you'll get here - it's France so expect well presented foods in perfect sized portions. For TROIS (Dessert) I had the creme brulee with rhubarb, which was really good and they do like to set everything on fire in this place, so stand back until the flame goes out. Drinks before dinner were also interesting - not your usual cast of characters, but some really interesting concoctions. Great place to go if someone is taking you here for a special occasion or you are in town for work and some company wants to impress you, then fine...me - next trip, I will try and make it possible and eat in the Eiffel Tower :) read more

The view is really fabulous, and while it may sound like a great idea to eat French food at the top of the tour Montparnasse, I would not eat here. We stopped in for coffee while waiting for a meeting and paid a lot for a cuppa Joe ...but I also took a look at the bathroom ---if the bathroom is that filthy then I can only imagine what the kitchen looks. The food is not bad, little heavy for my preference, but I really do eat lighter than most plus it's my first Paris trip. Everything here tastes heavy for me. In any case, I had the chicken and it actually tasted good ( bit little salty) , but I really liked the angel hair that came w the chicken. So smooth. Hubby had the salmon. Too salty for me, again. We sat front and center of the Eiffel Tower which sparkles at night on the hour. The service, however, was by far the worst we've had in Paris, especially from a high end restaurant. Waiters and what seemed to be the GM were walking back and forth clearly not acknowledging guests, we were part of a few who looked a tad pissed off regarding the sub par service. One waiter especially seemed to be on speed but just couldn't get the job done in a timely manner even by French standards. This is my first review ever on yelp. I don't write reviews because I understand how hard running a successful restaurant is. I do not want to tear them down for no apparent reason. However, bad service and the lack of care by the employees are something I hate to see. These servers and waiters are rude, arrogant, and lack the simple foundation of common courtesy. I came here for my parents 35th anniversary and they still treated us with complete disregard. Food wise - not worth the price. But I'm guessing you are paying for the view. But with a view like this I would appreciate more care in delivering a better experience, Food wise and service wise. Just my two cents. This is truly a one of a kind experience. The food is fantastic, the view is incredible, the service is top notch. Great date. One note, you may be tempted to go for the "grand ecran" menu to make sure you have a window seat, but there isn't a bad seat in the house because the tables away from the windows are elevated. You wind up paying about 50 euros more for a bottle of very very good wine per person, so it's a good value if you love wine and can polish a whole one off by yourself, but otherwise, you can get the 68 euro menu, get a table still with a great view, and split a bottle of wine or champagne or whatever. I adored this experience in Paris. Make reservations for 7 and plan to spend a few hours over a delicious meal curated by chef Ducasse. This was a very romantic spot on our anniversary trip to France. I adored seeing the city during daylight and dark from this amazing perspective. Loved that the chefs recommendation for wine was less than 100€ per bottle and it was a delicious, fantastic pairing for my beef and my husbands sea bass. I expected typical, over priced food that came with a great view but that is not what's happening here. The atmosphere was spot on, highlighting their magnificent, one of a kind view. The service was some of the best I've had in any country and the food was magnificent. A lovely fine dining meal that's approachable even for those of us who don't get many opportunities to experience fine dining. Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for a birthday for 2 people with a window seat. Only to be told when I arrive I can't get a window seat because I NEED the pre fixe. Would be fine if I had known in advance. I made 3 reservations for the trip. Never had any issue until the actual birthday. My wife and I wanted this to be our expensive dinner for our honeymoon. This was not fine dining at all, but by the price you could think it was. Security was a bit rude so getting into the hotel and restaurant was a bit unnerving. The chairs were uncomfortable and looked like they were purchased from a thrift store. Service was a bit slow but it looked like a busy night so I can get over it. Some of the lights on the ceiling were broken and constantly blinking, it was distracting and looked tacky. My biggest problem was how bad the food was. It wasn't horrible by most standards but I payed 220 Euro for 2 appetizers, 4 drinks, and 2 entrees. The appetizers were cold and lacking flavor. The asparagus was sloppy and overcooked while the fish tasted like tuna salad out of the can. The duck entree wasn't bad but did not impress my wife. I had the beef fillet which was cooked medium well as I asked but still very tough some how and just a poor cut. It tasted like a very cheap cut of meat. I want to believe the cooks are doing well but it seemed like the quality of food they are working with is just horrible. The view is outstanding but seeing as how bad the food was for the price you can tell this is just a trap to get people in with the view and serve them sub pare overpriced food to make profit.
