I am writing this review primarily to counterpoint so many others that are critical of this…read morerestaurant. My husband and I recently dined at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon on a quiet Wednesday night in Paris. We have been here before and enjoyed our evenings, but recent reviews made me wonder if we had made a mistake returning. We were delighted to discover the restaurant to still be as welcoming as ever, with top notch food. We wisely stuck to the specials recommended by our waiter. We shared a dish of spaghetti literally drowning in black truffles. It was superb, not to be missed if you are a fan of truffles (which we definitely are). Our shared main was the Dover sole, an entree we've had at lunch, but not in the evening. As ever, it was expertly prepared, and served with the justly famous potato puree with enough butter to make a cardiologist faint. For dessert we shared a lemon dome with marscapone and ice cream that was superb. We shared a lovely bottle of wine recommended by the very cordial sommelier. Perhaps we were just fortunate to have come on a night with a particularly winning special plat, but it seemed to us that L'Atelier Joel Robuchon is still providing an excellent dining experience. It is not an inexpensive meal, but we regret nothing!

In most restaurants the server would ask you if you'd like another glass. If i had purchased a bottle? i'm sure i would have been pouring my own wine. after we watched the back of our waiter's head for 20 minutes enjoying his conversation with another guest. Meanwhile the room only had 10 other guests, tops . we started to loose it. then waiting for the check while our waiter started another conversation across the restaurant. That was another 20 minutes. I literally had to get up and walk to the hostess and demand my check so we could leave. 7:30 reservation. we left at 10:30 If i had to rate the service overall? i would give it a 3. that's unacceptable for these prices. what a shame. Ambiance was great at 1st until everyone cleared out and we felt like we weren't appreciated or that important. i guess it's fair to say we won't be going back. What a shame . great food. horrible service. Chef Robuchon is the real deal.

All of us are well versed in fine dining & do tasting menus quite often.. so we have a lot to compare this place to. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing & it all went very well together. In particular, the Pouilly Fumé they chose with the cod went beautifully together. Regarding portion size & cost, I thought it was very reasonable & the portion sizes were very normal for a tasting menu. Don't expect big portions when you do a tasting menu, you're getting a lot of dishes in small quantities, which is the point.. it's called a TASTING menu for a reason & you get exactly that, a taste. It's €70 for 6 courses; with the wine pairing it's an additional €44 (total with tasting, €114/per person). There is no menu so you never know what's coming next! In summary, all of you foodies will greatly appreciate this place! It's a fine dining experience without the pretentiousness. I also loved the simplicity of the decor. Well done & we will be back!

Don't knock it until you've tried it. Some plates were almost traditionally French, but always had a unique twist. Delicious fish but "salted" with an anchovy glaze. Fresh asparagus, not with traditional hollandaise, but with a Scottish cheddar sauce. Not the slightest morsel was left on any single plate by the time it was retrieved. I lost track of the number of dishes that landed on our table over more than two hours. Each was delivered with a short explanation of the dish and usually the origin of the ingredients in your choice of English, French, or Japanese. The service was perfect! Very professional yet friendly and not the least bit intimidating. Two of my party had some dietary restrictions which were individually accommodated but one of the several desserts contained bananas which one guest could not consume. Chef Takayuki Honjo brought her an alternative to our table that must have been just as good, judging from her expression and the fact that it disappeared entirely, like everything else. Given the quality, originality, and presentation of the food along with the impeccable service, I'd have to say that it was also an excellent bargain. I can guarantee any food lover will enjoy the meal. Unfortunately, you will be on your own trying to find such interesting company to share the experience.

There is a lot to unpack here…read more It was my first Michelin Star dining experience, and so in a way, I have nothing to compare it to. That being said, it was exceptional. One of the greatest experiences of my life, both in a foodie sense and a ~human living on this planet~ sense. I loved the room we got to sit in, a little airy and bright in contrast with the front room which feels very heavy and dramatic. I loved our server, server assistant, som, and the fellow guests at the restaurant (nothing ruins a great meal, like annoying people at the table next to you). I loved how large our table for 2 was. It never felt crowded and the dishes were synced up so well that there was never too much on the table. It's almost like they are professionals ;) We chose this restaurant because it is known for its Burgundy Wines, and so naturally this is where we started. Ultimately we decided to order a la carte, instead of going with the tasting menu. But, it was cool to see that the tasting menu is available without pre-ordering. The highlights of the meal were without a doubt the amuse-bouche and starters. Even the bread was miraculous, mostly because of the perfectly salted butter. If you are eager to go here, definitely book a reservation. If you would like to sit in the darker room, plan your reservation later in the evening or request it specifically. Plan to spend at least 2 to 3 hours, even if you don't order dessert. This whole restaurant feels like a dream.

The space is absolutely gorgeous, with huge windows and skylights that look out onto an inner courtyard, sort of like you're in a greenhouse. The staff were impeccable from beginning to end, and I never felt like I was treated worse because I was alone or because I only got the lunch menu and a glass of wine. Everyone was friendly and professional. The food was fantastic, exactly what I would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. Creative, perfectly cooked/executed, and filling. I particularly liked the attention paid to the amuse bouche and dessert, since sometimes those things are a little bland, but in my case, they were the highlights of the meal! Exceptionally reasonably priced, too. Lunch sets are an absolute steal in Paris. I will definitely be back on my next trip.

Some highlights: The amuse bouche course was incredible end-to-end, but what really stood out for me was a blue masa shell holding mussel, sauce, and microgreens/herbs/flowers. The mix of the different herbs, the savory salinity of the mussel, and the sauces was wonderfully complex, yet also harmonious. The poached sea trout with pumpkin and horseradish ice cream was very satisfying. The mix of poached trout and horseradish cream was very familiar, yet the twist of making the horseradish a wholly different temperature and texture was really surprising and innovative. The monkfish in adobo was another extraordinary dish. I have only had monkfish liver before, but the way they were able to perfectly cook the monkfish gave it a texture and flavor reminiscent of lobster. With the spice of the adobo, it was a really well balanced dish. Additionally, all of the wines that we tried were also notable and delicious. Frenchie has definitely earned its Michelin star, and I wouldn't be surprised if it has another by the next time I come back.

Le Soufflé doesn't only have soufflés, but it was definitely what we were eyeing to order. They have savory and sweet soufflés, so we made sure to get at least one of each. We started with the cheese soufflé and French onion soup combo, the beef bourguignon soufflé, and ended with the soufflé Grand Marnier for dessert. The cheese soufflé and French onion soup combo was a great appetizer to our meal. It also came with a couple bites of salad. I didn't have French onion soup until this meal, so I was really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint! The beef bourguignon soufflé was absolutely delicious as well and packed with flavor. The soufflé Grand Marnier was a perfect end to our meal, the liqueur added a nice alcoholic taste to the soufflé and is a great addition if you're looking for just a bit of alcohol in your system. The soufflés are the perfect size for sharing, so I would recommend doing that and trying a variety of dishes. Le Soufflé was a unique French dining and I would absolutely recommend them!
