I'll start by saying that we live literally just down the street from Cibo. We've been coming here for the last seven years and used to always be pleased by our experience. We appreciated the craft cocktails so much that we'd often stop by before going home from other restaurants for a drink. Sadly there's been a sharp decline in food quality over the past six months or so. I'm not sure if there's a new manager or what has caused the decline, but it saddens me to lose such a great dining option so close to where we live. The bartenders we loved are all gone and replaced by some others who are not as inspired. The food seems to be very inconsistent. I posted a photo of the French fries, where the potatoes were not all evenly cut. That is, in my opinion, unacceptable for a restaurant even in a lower tier than Cibo.. On a high note, the service is still good and the burger amazing, however they no longer use the same delicious buns that they once did. read more

Went there for lunch. The service was a little slow as the restaurant was fairly crowded and they only had one waiter. Being that it is an Italian restaurant I went for pasta. How can they mess up pasta right? Wrong! Went with Pasta Bolognese with fettuccine, wow was I disappointed. I may as well eaten a Kroger brand pasta and a jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce. Plain white precooked pasta mixed in plain unseasoned tomato sauce. I can tell there was meat in it by the texture of the sauce but not by taste. The pasta was a overcooked and portions of it was clumped together. It didn't taste or look fresh, kind of something made a few days earlier re-heated in the microwave. There was no salt and pepper on any of the tables to season the food (trust me, it needed help). It was served with no bread or bread-sticks. I have reservations at 7:45 and showed up on time. They didn't have a table a little after 8. I brought my own bottle of wine and there was a $20 corkage fee which I asked if it could be complimentary since we didn't get seated right away. The manager came over after about 15 minutes and said if we had to wait 20-30 minutes he would have complimented it, but said he wouldn't for 15. I would have given this place 3 stars if I had gotten seated at my reserved time. The food wasn't special, I had the chicken parmigiana, but did have a good presentation. Our waitress was awesome and very very sweet, but we did not get wine glasses until about 5-10 minutes after the manager came over. Great décor, good food, abysmal service! I had lunch at Cibo e Beve yesterday, as I had heard good things about the new neighborhood Italian restaurant. There were only three tables occupied during my entire visit, but the lone waiter delivered very poor service. He actually joined another table and drank wine with them instead of serving my table and the other table! I had finished my salad before the glass of wine I had ordered arrived. I eventually gave up on trying to order a coffee after the meal, as I couldn't get the waiter's attention. Bread, drinks, meal, desert, etc. were very poorly timed by the waiter who clearly had very little experience in that role. The food, however, was wonderful! I will try this place again after they have had more time to settle in and train the wait staff. read more

Went here for "date night" with the husband tonight and had a wonderful meal! Sat at the antipasti bar overlooking the kitchen, had caesar salad and meatballs as our first course, orecchiette with turnip greens and sausage and pappardelle with wild boar bolognese, then finished with tiramisu for dessert. Set your expectations accordingly. This was our first, and last, time to visit this restaurant. Not quite sure I can get over the dirty wine glasses, the chipped plates or the fact that a glass of wine costs more than my entre. But hold off on that because the real star of the show is the service. I suppose that ordering something to go could really cause mass confusion, not sure how but apparently it does. Or that the server finally just tells everyone at the table to just be quick and order already. But the clincher came when we discovered that that nice Spanish rioja was actually an Italian blend. When asked, our server just said, 'oh know it wasn't what you ordered but I got you a good deal on this one instead'. Really? So, if you want average food (except the meatballs were pretty tasty), grossly overpriced wine and pretentious and condescending servers then you'll love this place. For me the 'entertainment value' of the servers isn't worth the hefty price of readmission. I give it one star mainly because i have to. read more

Cibo e Beve was recommended to me by someone at work a couple of years ago and it finally worked out that we were able to go this past week. We went to celebrate my wife being cancer free for 5 years and we wanted to try someplace new. From the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts, everything was marvelous. The service was excellent as well. I had the salmon. My wife had the rigatoni with eggplant. My daughter had the chicken parm and my son had carbonara. Everything was excellent. Everybody shared a bit of their meals and we all enjoyed all the entrees. For the appetizers, we had meatballs and the cheese fritters which were on the specials menu. Both were excellent but I really enjoyed the meatballs and the tomato sauce that they came in. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and the butter pecan gelato pie. I only tasted the tiramisu which was excellent. My kids had shared the pie and although it was a bit hard to get some of the pieces off of it to eat(which, for me and my wife, was a bit entertaining to watch) they said they liked it. We all had a marvelous time and it was a great dinner experience for our family. We will be back. read more

We happened to be in Sandy Springs Friday night and decided to find an Italian restaurant to grab dinner. We chose Cibo based on the reviews we read on line and were very excited to try it. Overall the service was sub par, the waiter didn't ask if we had been there before and once I said we were first time vistior's, he didn't offer to walk through the menu at all. We base a good italian restaurant from the bolognese and after order the bolognese and their speciality "lobster pasta", I think that's what it's called, it was truly disappointing. The bolognese sauce tasted like it was from a jar, very tomatoey and lack of flavor. The lobster pasta had no flavor and the lobster was over cooked and chewy. Overall, I'd think twice about spending $20+ dollars for a pasta dish! read more

I had dinner here with a group of people on Saturday evening and it definitely was a great experience! I unfortunately have a gluten and soy allergy, but I called the day before and the receptionist was super helpful and stated that anything with an asterisk on the menu can be made into a gluten free entree! I also had the pleasure to speak with the Chef and she was so wonderful and accommodating as well and was able to direct me in the soy free options as well; which was anything that was not placed in the frier. I enjoyed sharing the burrata cheese and tomato salad as well as the peppers and onions to start and for an entree I ordered the shrimp risotto. Cibo has some of the most unique food and drinks on any menu in Atlanta. The quality of the dishes along with the comfortable and cozy environment make it the best restaurant around. Love the space. Very cozy...sometimes a little too much so...as it can be very difficult to get by the service staff in the narrow aisles! One great thing is the ample parking...self parking...in this city of the valet parkers...it's nice to occasionally do it yourself! I ordered a killer cocktail, that I enjoyed very much...it was a bourbon drink with peach and smoke...they actually served it covered in plastic wrap with wood smoke trapped inside. The chiseled ice cube is a great touch...i will say though, to beware ordering the Drink Special! I was very surprised when these came to $14 each on my bill, and that 2 of them became 1/3 of my entire check...would have liked to know that one in advance! Also had appetizers and a pizza. The food definitely made less of an impression on me...pretty good. simple. nothing too special. Pizza wasn't great and seemed a poor value at $16 for an individual, one-person job. I had been really excited to try this restaurant after passing by many times! We went on a Saturday night with another couple. Right away I realized there were about 5-6 other 730pm reservations waiting with us..in a very tiny restaurant...we were seated about 15-20 minutes of our reservation. It was very obvious they over booked themselves from the second we walked in. Now the food was delicious. We tried a new appetizer cauliflower and feta and that was ok. The Caesar salad was a really big let down for me :( it has like 3 mini croutons and a lot of head lettuce. Everything else we tried was a home run, however. The chicken Parmesan was fabulous. The carbonara, bread and burger everyone enjoyed. The dessert was a hit as well. The tiramisu is some of the best I ever had. We had a nice server but, you could tell she was overwhelmed. Ok, so it's VERY hard for me to give 5 star reviews. They are like unicorns. I mean, perfection doesn't exist, right? WRONG! Completely wrong!!! This place is PERFECTION! So after exploring Yelp on a Friday night, looking for something new, I find this place. The reviews are excellent and my mouth is WATERING to see if all the hype is true. IT'S ALL TRUE!!! When I arrived, the host was SUPER FRIENDLY, and instantly sat me. Shortly after my sever greeted me with water, the dinner specials, and drink requests. I asked about appetizers and her recommendations and everything she said was RIGHT (this is important for later). I got the meatballs as an appetizer...they should be called SOFTBALLS, because they are HUGE!!!! I imagine meatballs in Italy are THIS GOOD. Now here is where I was really impressed. I'm trying to watch my calories so I didn't want a cream sauce with my pasta, but my server INSISTED that I get the Carbonara. I didn't. I got the Bolognese. I didn't care for it. I was sad. My server took pity on my sadness and took my entree back and brought back the Carbonara. It was HEAVEN SENT!!!! So yes, you NEED to visit this place. Put it on your "MUST TRY" list ASAP! read more

Linda, I was pleased to hear on NextDoor.com that you bought the restaurant and wish you the best. When first Cibo opened, we dined there about twice a month, then stopped going about a year and a half ago. The service was lacking and we were not treated well. Your prices need some adjustment as they are too high. Extra sauce for pasta? Not possible. Special requests? Forget about it. Salad dressing "on the side" request was ignored. Ten dollars for a chopped salad? Why not put a simple tossed side salad on the menu for $5? Most of us like a salad with our pasta, but not at $10. And the pasta carbonara--are you serious charging $19? And $24 for a basic lasagna? Several times, our waiter did not check in with us to see if we were pleased with our food. One time, I was served my lukewarm meal a full twelve minutes before my partner was served. Being polite, I waited to eat until he was served. By that time, my Chicken Piccata was cold. Had to leave our table to find the manager to order more wine. Had to find the manager again to get our check. We moved to Il Giallo in Sandy Springs where the chef Jaime and his staff do all they can to make each meal memorable. Unless you do a menu price revamp and retrain your staff, I fear that Cibo will continue to tank and that would be a shame. read more

Cute restaurant. Sat at the bar and the bartenders were very accommodating. Ordered two apps: stuff figs and meatballs. The stuffed figs were very soggy. There was no texture to them which made them not so pleasing on the palate. The meatballs were very tasty. The best thing of the night was the veggie pizza. I forget the name of it but it had butternut squash cream sauce instead of the traditional red sauce. I will return to try some other dishes. read more

We chose a few basics off the menu: one kid's size pasta (I forget how much they charged for the pasta) and a $3 meatball; two "plate-sized" cheese pizzas ($14 each); and a salad with some salami $9). Including the $12 dollar tip I left, the total bill was about $75. We did not have any drinks other than water. Although there was much on the menu to choose from and much of it sounded good to me and may have been, I won't take the chance on another visit. Maybe I am not used the prices (associated with the "exclusive location" -- in a strip mall with limited parking) or the smaller portion sizes, but I found the experience on the value end not to be worth it at all. The pizza - not anything special at all (not enough cheese or sauce). It was the about the same size as the pies at Your Pie (https://www.yelp.com/biz/your-pie-roswell), except that pizza is good and only $8. Everything else was okay, but as mentioned small portions. My husband ordered a pasta (made by Storico- who is, arguably, one of the best pasta makers in Atlanta) and it was drenched in a heavy cream sauce with peas and carrots- ruining a great pasta. I try to dine at Cibo e Beve (Roswell Road) at least monthly, and each visit is an opportunity for a new experience. This evening I enjoyed dinner with my mother in law (who, but the way is awesomely cool). We sat at the bar and were cared for by Amber and Sean. Service and food were exceptional. My mother in law had the Tuscana Pici Pasta. She didn't want to eat the entire serving, but couldn't stop - it was that awesome! She allowed me a forkful and I've got to say - it was pleasantly delicious. I ordered the "Straw and Hay" Carbonara. It was - without a doubt - the best food I put in my mouth all week. The smokiness of the bacon, creamy sauce, and perfectly (and I mean perfectly) cooked pasta just warmed my soul. If you've not enjoyed a meal perfectly prepared to your liking... Went with a group---there were nine of us--on Saturday night. Sometimes when you have a large-ish group it can be a frustrating experience--long waits, etc.--but we did not encounter any of that. We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated right away at a table large enough to comfortably accommodate the group. Our server Ryan was very attentive and made excellent food and wine recommendations. Love that they have two sides to the menu, "classic" and "modern;" makes a big difference when you have a group with different tastes (and tolerance for experimentation!) Great ambiance and menu! Loved the restaurant! We are from Chicago and went to the restaurant with great friends. The calamari and their signature meatballs were outstanding. My husband thought the carbonara was the best he has ever had and I loved my salmon entree. No leftovers for us! If you want to spoil yourself, please do not miss having the butter pecan gelato pie. It was delicious and the bacon chocolate crust was decadent! I am not a fan of tiramisu but loved theirs. The staff was wonderful and the service was next to none. We went here for Mother's Day, and while I appreciate my huband wanting to take me to a new place, I did not appreciate the service or the food. The server, (whose name begins with a "J" and rhymes with bosh) acted like he was not interested in serving us. He did not seem very knowledgable of the menu, if he was he did not feel like talking about it to us. He also spilled food on our table and didn't even bother to clean it up! As for the food it was just ok. My pasta sauce was watery and had no flavor. My husband's burger was good though. The restaurant looks nice but sometimes looks can be deceiving. I drove here from Woodstock to celebrate my wife's birthday. I heard good things about this restaurant. I was very disappointed to say the least. Food was average at best. My meal was extremely salty. Wife' had the lobster with spaghetti and it had a weird aftertaste. And is it just me or Isn't a salad usually served with your meal at most Italian restaurants??
