Location near our hotel very convenient. Staff are kind and sweet. Pizza: lots of mozzarella on meat pizza, crust a little thick and doughy, sauce unremarkable. read more

Stopped in for a slice on a weekend night. The space has a decent amount of tables and extends fairly far back. The staff was friendly and served us right away. I got a regular cheese slice ($4). It was pretty large and very tasty. Good crust, with a nice cheese to sauce ratio. I would go back. The only pies I did not see were sicilian or grandma, but perhaps they sold out by that point or don't offer them. read more

My BIL wanted pizza for lunch. I asked the building superintendent for a recommendation. Without hesitation, he said Ciao Bella, about 2 blocks away. Busy place, with a lot of different pies on display. I ended up getting two cheese, and one each of broccoli w mozz, and sausage and pepperoni. On the thin side, but not overly thin. Prices in-line with other places in Manhattan. We both enjoyed. Delicious! 5 "nothing like NY pizza" stars read more

I never visit the spot, but I ordered twice. Amazing pizza especially for a Knicks watch party. I ordered the grandma and regular nyc pizza. Great cheese portion, not burn & crispy. The price is convenient beside the yelp delivery tax. The service is good as far as delivery in one piece only thing I didn't like is that the delivery guy has put the pizza boxes on the floor and sent it via elevator . I pay to get my pizza delivered hand to hand not out my food on the floor. Overall amazing pizza will be visiting soon. read more

A little heavy on the sauce drowns the pasta. Good pasta should stand on its own. Staff was nice, atmosphere nice.

Oh my goodness this little pizza joint was so good we had to go to days in a row!!! Please don't judge me I was absolutely craving their margarita pizza the next day. the crust is everything and I mean everything. They have the infamous red checkered tablecloth's . They probably have some other foods on the menu , but I'm telling you, I didn't even notice. We walked in. They had just put out a fresh Margherita pizza on display. I asked for a slice and I was in heaven after that. read more

My husband and I have to get pizza at least once whenever we go to NYC. We were staying at a friend's in Chelsea and kept passing by Ciao Bella's, which was the nearest pizza spot to the apartment. We stopped by around 5pm on a Saturday. The place was nearly empty besides one customer who was placing an order for a large box for take-out. Not that it was telling of whether the pizza was good or bad, but we were almost considering on going to another place because it wasn't busy. Don't judge a book by it's cover though, because our slice of cheese pizza was very satisfying. The quality was good for it's cheap price. The tomato sauce was bright and sweet, and it wasn't oily. The crust was nicely crispy on the bottom so it had structure to it. Personally I preferred the this type of crust because traditional NYC pizzas can be messy and floppy. -1 star because I did see a fly buzzing around the pizzas after we had just purchased the slice and were on our way out. read more

I had two very filling dinners from one order. My go to for chicken parm. And the pasta was al dente and heavily sauced.

PERFECTION! This is a classic NY slice. If you like your pizza crisper, get it well done. It always hits the spot. I eat my work lunch here at least twice a week. If you don't go for the pizza, go for the staff! They are the best! read more

The pizza was decent but it wasn't anything special. I didn't love the sauce and the freshness of the basil. The pizza swirls were a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed it and it was full of meats. I loved the garlic knots. They were so full of garlic and had a great consistency read more

The slices are soft cheese is scrumptious slices are cheap nice guys high recommend thr first trip here won't be my last

I was born and raised in NY and there are certain standards that I hold dear. A good bagel, a knish, foldable pizza with broccoli and veal piccata that will make your mouth pucker. I've lived in California now for almost 20 years and veal is as dirty a word here as pate. So as I was wrapping up my most recent trip to the greatest city in the world I stopped at Ciao Bella to knock the remaining food requirements off my list. Veal piccata was not on the menu, but both veal marsala and chicken picatta were. My request for veal piccata was immediately answered yes. I put in my order and started with a slice of their vegetarian pizza because of all the broccoli. I love NYC pizzerias. They know how it's done. Shakers of parm and crushed red pepper are fine, but you need that shaker of garlic to make it the read deal. Cial Bella did not disappoint. I ate half my pizza while waiting for the piccatta. It was delicious, foldable, loaded with veggies and that crunchy-crisp broccoli that only explodes in your mouth when heated in a pizza oven. I saved my other half of the pizza for my flight and it was AMAZING. For those that don't know, veal is the meat from young male cows. It's almost white, like chicken. It has a very distinct taste and is tender and delicious. It's often served in very thin fillets that are breaded and fried with different sauces. Ciao Bella served up a butter, lemon and caper-rich Veal Picatta that has my mouth watering just thinking about it. It was truly the most perfect dish for my last meal in NYC. There are countless places to eat in NYC, and Ciao Bella satisfied! read more

Decent pizza. Terrible unfriendly service. Employees seem very unhappy working there. Glad we tried it. But won't be returning l

It is a small hole in the wall in Chelsea. With a decent amount of indoor seating. Remind me of an old-school Brooklyn pizza place. In a good way. Yes it's pricey for a slice but the slices are always perfectly cooked with a crispy perfectly cooked crust. Love the grandma slice and the focaccia sandwiches. Recommend To check out if you're in the mood for a quick bite in the area read more

This was our first visit, meeting friends who are regulars. The outdoor tent was nice (but leaked in places when it rained) and the waiter very nice. Sadly, the food was far below what we had eaten in prior weeks at the similarly or lesser priced Sapore di Italia, Brick Oven and Fiamma. The balsamic calamari was ok but the fettucini bolognese blandly spiced and too heavy, even for a dish that is usually hearty. Our friends liked their dishes, so perhaps it was our selections. read more

The food was amazing, tasted very fresh, great prices and huge portions! Owner was very friendly and we highly recommend everyone to eat here!! Would be really cute with some added decorations such as string lights maybe, just to add some more ambiance. But the food is a 10/10 and I will be back! read more

Obsessed with this place! I work in the area and was looking for some good quality pizza. I saw good reviews about this place on Seamless and decided to give it a shot. It has a cozy, home-like environment. I never have a problem with seating and they offer table service along with regular seats for those who want a quick bite. I find myself ordering a different slice every time I come here and they all taste amazing. I haven't tried anything from their sit-down menu, but if its anything like their pizza then I'm sure it's good! Slices in the photo - margarita and grandma slice with bacon. read more

Delicious grab and go pizza. I had a slice of the eggplant pizza and it was delicious. The dough was fresh and crispy but also soft on the inside. Underrated pizzeria in area with a lot of competition. Always quick and always good. Also offer a wide variety of slices with different toppings.. most places don't have as much variety. We order here often for office and is a top choice by all. read more

I used to be a fan, but this is the second time in a row I have been overcharged at this place! Each time it is only $1-2, but still. Today: Calzone on the menu costs $5.05. I got a filing. According to the menu, my filing should have been 75 cents. I just confirmed this by trying to order it online -- $5.80. I was charged $7.20 (see attached receipt). Even if you argue that for some reason it should have been $6.45, the extra 75 cents is totally bogus. Next time I'll walk farther to not support this place. read more

FAIR WARNING BELOW I credit the menu writer, who provided tasty bait for the unfamiliar. The "live menu" was brilliant bait and switch - roughly 1/2 of the selections shown online was on the paper menu. We didn't go for the decorating (didn't get it). I hoped it was a nice hole-in-the-well with good food. The hole-in-the part ws correct. Overall impression - a pizza joint with an alleged kitchen. Generous portions for less money, and uninspired seasoning. Beer - bottled only. Peroni, Henie, Moretti (out of stock), others. Wine - four "varietals" by the glass (no comment on the pizza - not ordered) Pasta Fagioli Soup (Pasta and Beans) - this was seasoned in a basic fashion. The beans seemed to be pureed into the broth - not a whole bean to be found. Green Salad - the highlight - a generous portion with lots of color and a thin slice of onion - served with oil, balsamic, salt and pepper "Chardonnay" - served by the glass - one of four wines - mediocre, suitable for those who don't drink much wine. Chicken Francese - a big breast not pounded thin - thickly breaded, bland. Baked Salmon - as a Alaskan, I was curious about "Atlantic Salmon". I ordered against better judgement. Estimate a 6-oz portion with skin on (OK by me, though a sear and peel is not difficult). "Capers lemon sauce" - although capers and lemon were evident - the "sauce" was oil - not really saucy. Bottom line try the pizza and move on. read more
