The staff is always warm and welcoming--and Tony always takes care of our dog when he nearly pulls us in for a slice (and his own piece of pepperoni). What a great experience- such solid pizza! This spot is known for their thin crust pizza. I got the vodka cheese slice and my husband got the margarita. Both slices were perfection! You can taste the freshness of the sauce but on top of that the quality ingredients that go into making this pizza. They have a few small tables inside (like 3 or 4) for seating which is always nice when you're walking around all day. It's not your typical "New York" slice- but definitely goes beyond it in its own category. Service was prompt, owner himself took our order, brought our slices to the table, and checked in on us. No issues with nut allergies for their standard offerings. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza just to say I had a New York slice while walking by. It was good - excellent texture on the thin crust, sufficient toppings, nice with Parmesan cheese. One slice was definitely not enough for a lunch - I could probably eat 2-3 easily. Was it $5 for a slice good? I wouldn't say so, but that seems on par with other places like Joe's now, and there's minimal wait comparatively. So for NYC prices, it's solid. read more

Just concluded another pizza tour of NYC. I specifically came back to Baggio's to verify that it wasn't just a fluke that they were my favorite last time. Not a fluke! This visit to NYC, I ended up here three times, it is hands down my favorite, easily edging out Prince St, L'Industrie, Joe & Pat's and Scarrs. But, full disclosure, I strongly favor a very thin crisp crust. If you do too, get here. Trust me on this one, I LOVE this pizza like none other. This trip I stuck with the 3-sauce tomato, vodka and pesto, but I equally love the margarita. Not the most convenient location from my hotel but I don't regret a single round trip. Their sauce is on the sweet side if that is pertinent to your preferences...a decent ratio of cheese to topping, which is very pertinent to my preferences. Saw the excellent reviews and placed a delivery order through their website. What a mistake. The pizza arrived within the time specified by the restaurant. Ordered a custom personal pizza with a few toppings for about $26.00. The pizza was a cold, soggy, inedible mess. The toppings and the cheese fell off the pizza, and was lying on one side of the box, which indicted to me it was tilted during the delivery. I tried to fix it and tasted a slice. It was bland and not worth further effort. I threw the pizza in the garbage and made a sandwich. I live a few blocks from this pizzeria. It doesn't take much to deliver a pizza a few blocks in good condition. Lousy pizza. Lousy service. A colossal waste of money. read more
