To bad I can't give less than one star. This was one of my favorite places to eat. Until Friday August 31st. Where I waited 20 minuets for a server until I asked someone to take my order then when the food came out we asked for plates and waited 15 minuets for them until I got up and went to get them my self. My wife ordered a margarita and it sat at the bar waiting to be brought to our table when a busser helped us out and brought it to us the ice had melted and was watered down. No I know the place was busy. I've been there I've worked in food service too, but seriously the service was terrible. I never learned who my servers name was or who I was tipping. As a long time customer and regular I am very disappointed. To make matters worse 2 managers passed by our table several time and we clearly weren't happy and they looked at us but kept on going. I don't know. if the place has new management but this place sucks now. Get some servers who do their jobs and managers who understand how to run a restaurant and take care of customers. Chuy's Tex-Mex in Schaumburg, Illinois was a favorite restaurant, especially since Chevy's closed. Unfortunately our last two visits to Chuy's was a disaster. The service was fine but the food was horrible and not as fresh as ot should have been. Chuy's has declined at a much faster rate than Chevy's did. Needless to say we will not return. read more

Other than that: the food is consistently good and reasonably priced, their drinks taste good but won't get you hammered, and they have a free nacho buffet weekdays from 5-7, I believe. I really liked this place......tasty authentic Tex Mex, freshly made tortillas, nice atmosphere, good service and even a gift shop, actually had some pretty cool shirts. Will be returning. My only complaint is that there wasn't much of a beer selection. Well, you can't have everything. read more

Such a fun place; great atmosphere and service. The food is pretty consistently good- chicken Flautas are my favorite with their queso or guacamole. Went to Chuy's this evening for dinner. Been there several times before and gotten decent service. Had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Then they tried to seat us in the middle of the restaurant, with me using a walker. We get seated, our waiter, Wesley O, was busy taking orders at another table and dealing with another group in the corner. The corner couple must of had issues with their order, after he left them he came to our table to get our drink order and to see if we wanted chips and salsa and any appetizer. We asked for unsweetened tea and yes to chip and salsa with an order of guacamole. We get our drinks and chip and salsa. And Wesley goes back to the corner couple and he has to get the manager to deal with whatever the problem was there. We never get any guacamole. He delivers food to the behind us. And then goes back to the corner couple and resolves whatever the issue at that table. Another couple gets seated in another corner booth. He proceed to get their order and provides chips and salsa almost immediately. I believe he got their order before, finally coming back to us to get our order. Still no guacamole for us. We place our order figuring he forgot to the place the order for guacamole. Our order is placed and had to ask for additional salsa, since he took the time to refill our chips. He brings drink to the table behind us and ranch dressing to the last couple that was seated. He spills some of the ranch dressing on our table and one of the unoccupied chair that my husband jacket was placed on. He picks up my husband jacket and place on the chair my walker was at. He didn't even bother to push my walker back in, nor did he try to clean up his spill of ranch dressing at our table. Food was delivered to the table. I will admit the meals were great. After we finished, He hands us the bill with that order of guacamole on it. He asked if we had received it, he gave us the impression that it was someone else fault for not bringing it to us. But isn't that part of the waiter responsibility to ensure customers receive what they order. He had to get the manger to remove the guacamole from our bill. I would have expected the manager to come to our table and apologize for not bringing the guacamole, but no. No discount for the inconvenience caused by Wesley. It will probably be a long time before I'll come back to eat there again. read more

Very good Mexican food (tex-mex). Consistently good which makes it worth the trip. The stuffed avocados on Wednesday are amazing. The fresh tortillas and multiple sauces/salsas make for unique meals and you can mix it up sometimes to give a fresh take on a dish. read more

Man oh man this place is SO DELICIOUS! The place was packed on a Monday night and the fresh tortillas were being made super fast! The decor is so weird and cool. We were served chips and salsa right away and I didn't think the salsa would be very good because it looked so chunky and mostly tomatoes. I was wrong. It was SO SO good. It's very spicy but in a flavourful way and you just can't stop eating it. The chips were so light and crunchy. We were being piggies that night so we ordered some queso and it was perfect. Our server, Isa, was so sweet and took care of us even though it was super busy. She was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food. When we asked for to-go boxes, she gave us more salsa and a bag of chips with it (little things like that make people want to come back). I got the boom-boom chicken enchiladas and the sauce was awesome, the chicken was tender, and the tortillas were flavourful. My husband got the Monday special which was chicken enchilladas with an avocado sauce and it was good too even though I don't like avocados. We were curious about their many different sauces so our server brought us a little bowl of each of them! They were all yummy. Our frozen margaritas were good too but I still like Mia's a little more (just a tad). When we got the bill we were pleasantly surprised at the price. Got the outrageously large burrito, and one of the house margaritas. They were both pretty good and the service was solid, especially for how busy it was. I would say it falls short of 5 stars only due to the difficulty of actually getting to the location. Which is really unfortunate for them but not somethign they can really improve upon. read more

Mm mmm mmmm! I used to be a regular here when I worked nearby. I always order the big as your face burrito - oh my god it's huge. They give you an overly generous bag of chips and salsa with your meal. Definitely order the jalepeño ranch for your chips, talk about yummy! They are always busy at lunch, but when I come in with my huge order from my business, they always have everything right and happily deal with my five different payments since I usually order for the whole team. Best Mexican food I've had in a while. The wait for a table is usually 30+ min. Great chips in queso. I absolutely love the Elvis Presley memorial combo. The wait for our entrees was a little long about 45 min but the service wasn't bad and the food is totally worth it. read more

15 of us went last night for my girlfriend's birthday dinner. Food was great! I love the Blue Corn Enchiladas with the Fried Egg! I get them everytime I go in. Girlfriend loved the Flautas as well! Few minor things that went wrong with the experience... Didn't know they didn't take reservations, tried calling but never got an answer, for a week! Took an hour to get a table. Waitress brought the wrong beans with one of the entrees, never remedied. She was busy and it probably just slipped her mind, no big deal. Ordered a round of tequila shots.. 20 minutes later the waitress returned to tell us they were out of the tequila we ordered. We chose not to order a round of something else because we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for the shots. No one's fault, but a bit of a set back... As I said these were minor set backs and would never keep me out of Chuy's. I would like some one to answer the phone when it rings though. That would have saved me from driving up there to be told they don't accept reservations. I give this restaurant the 3 stars due to not answering the phone, would have gotten 4... Overall, great job Chuy's and another great meal! read more

Good food! Much different than the California version but still good to boot. The staff is great and even offered a "drink" while my party waited. We went during the Hatch chili festival and Chuy's did not disappoint. The kicked up menu was delicious! The drinks were great, and the price is average. read more

I can't say enough about this place! Best. Happy. Hour. Ever!!! I mean who doesn't want to eat chili con queso from the trunk of a classic car?!? Service is always great and I am never disappointed with my dish. Now, I pretty much always get the same thing...deluxe chicken enchiladas. But they are so friggin awesome, I can't say no. My mom had the fish tacos this last visit and they were delicious! Our friend had the shrimp chile relleno and was just enthused with the flavors (she's from Wisconsin and they just don't have Tex-Mex up there!). I would rate five stars but on multiple occasions, we have ordered the flautas and they were really only about a two star rating. So we just avoid those now. They have, by far, the best happy hour. Margaritas...including swirls are 3.75 each and great. No skimpy ones that other Tex Mex places pass off during happy hour. Yummy free queso with chips, ground beef, pico de gallo, and beans...all free during happy hour. I have found my new place. Everything was awesome including the service. We had a birthday dinner for a party of about 12. It was during the dinner rush so we had to wait awhile which was expected and not a big deal considering this is a popular place. The service was great, our waiter was fun and very accomodating to our needs. Everyone pretty much ordered something different and all the plates looked delicious. I know mine was. This review is specific to this location. While the other Chuy's in and around Plano are good too, they are not as good as this location. I am compelled to write this review because, like myself you might skip right over one of their best items. I am not really a soup eater and when I want Mexican, it is the last thing I'm thinking of. However, Chuys tortilla soup is so delicious, I sometimes drive for take-out just for the soup! It is so delicious! Warm tortillas on the side & an ice cold margarita, heaven! Yummmmmm! Food was terrible! Green chile rice tasted bland. Chips were mediocre at best. Salsa was basically bad pico. Tortillas in my enchiladas were a weird texture as was the chicken. It was dry and completely bland and unpalatable. Beans tasted like they came out of a can. I ate about three bites before sending it back. Manager was cordial and made sure that my entree was not on the ticket, but aside from that, pretty bad all around. read more

I would give them 6 stars if possible. We love this place. We usually sit at the bar and Graham or Connor (congrats on graduating) serve us. They always remember our names and usually what we are drinking. Chick a chicka boom boom is a must. Any of my friends barely mentions Chuy's and we have to go immediately. Fajitas are also amazing. Me and my hubs usually split both. I eat one enchilada he eats a couple of beef fajitas then we switch plates! Best of both worlds. Tres Leches cake is awesome! Tried it with chambord pour on the top once for a change. It was really good but I still like the original caramel sauce. Maybe one day I will try another entree but for now its the boom boom all the way. Awesome job guys! read more
