I've never written a review on here, but my experience at this Chuy's location was so awesome so I had to share! Me and the kids were running some errands about a week ago around Murfreesboro, and being a big fan of Chuy's, we had to stop in! The wait was around 30 minutes which wasn't surprising considering it was a Friday night. We met a super sweet host named Bee, and after she took our name down, we chatted for a while and she made sure we were comfortable while we waited. We decided to hang out in the bar. I missed the text, but she knew who we were and came and grabbed us which was awesome! Our server was fantastic and she made sure we had everything we needed. The chips and salsa were never empty and they were happy to make substitutions when we ordered. The food was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. We will definitely be returning to this location next time we are in Murfreesboro! read more

Didn't make it past an incredibly disappointing reception at the host station. Host and two hostesses arguing over seating as if the customers didn't exist. Chuy's is in my top 5 places to eat in Murfreesboro! I love the homemade tortillas and chips that they have. The chips are the best you will find anywhere. I frequent Chuy's for lunch and on occasion dinner time. There is sometimes a wait around dinner time, but what places aren't like that? The atmosphere is very down to earth. It is a family friendly place to be, and the service is very good. The prices for everything is pretty reasonable as well. If you have not eaten there yet, you must try it! read more

We went to Chuys in Murfreesboro and were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful everything was for us. Samantha, GM, greeted us and was soooo personably. She is a fantastic GM. We met Arturo, the kitchen manager, and he was super--more later. Giselle was our server and she did an outstanding job. All our needs were met by her. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Brad the bartender is the master of drink making. Super fine. Drew and Nick helped with sauce tastings--again, friendly and knowledgeable. William our busser was quick in clearing away dishes. O my gosh--the gluten free items are absolutely fantastic!!!!!! Fresh and delicious. Thanks Arturo. The beverages were all so tasty--light and good. The entire experience was the best ever. Spoiler alert: They charge you a tip even if you don't leave one. My friends and I met there for a quick birthday lunch the other day. It took a solid hour for us to get our food, which was mediocre. The people around us didn't seem to have to wait nearly as long. We were pleasant and understanding up to a point, and then we nicely asked for our food and to-go boxes since we were all late for work. It was not a good sign when the to-go boxes got to our table BEFORE the food. We had a rotation of three waiters, none of which really knew what was going on, and only three of us got drinks. We never were curt or unkind, but when it came time to pay on four different tickets, some of us left no tip and others left only a dollar (on a $10 meal). Normally all four of us are VERY (20-50%) generous tippers, but we did everything but go in the kitchen and make the food ourselves that day. When we checked our bank accounts later in the week, we all found that we had been charged 20% over our tab for tip. Both our banks and Chuy's will be hearing about this. read more

I've had Chuy's in Murfreesboro three times and they have struck out! My first experience I realized it's extremely noisy in the restaurant. The food was over priced and subpar compared to many other smaller Tex-Mex/Mexican restaurants. The second experience was the absolute worst with a wait on a Saturday night of one hour and twelve minutes before being seating for a party of five. That night I had such indigestion (which I never experienced before) that I had to go to the doctor the next day. I gave it one last try today and the wait was fine at 1130am but I've still experience nothing but indigestion ever since and no other place makes me do that. The meal quality was not worth the price you pay monetarily and physically. I wouldn't recommend Chuy's. read more

I was very disappointed in the management of the restaurant in Murfreesboro, Tn. I went there with my husband, daughter and my 2 grandchildren. The restaurant was very noisy and there was no organization on seating the patrons. When we arrived, we were told it would be about 30 minutes. We requested a table due to the booths being a bit too small and uncomfortable. When they offered us to be seated, they led us to a booth which I declined due to the original request. Once a table became available, the manager stated to us that she was going to move the table to another area of the restaurant for other diners so they can be more comfortable. Now we had to wait again which really upset me due to the wait time being close to 1 hour at this time. The manager came out to talk to us but she made no sense at all of what she was doing and we ended up leaving. I feel the establishment put a young person in charge of a restaurant who knew nothing about managing and there were alot of people angry in the waiting area due to their wait time being extended further out than what they expected. I definitely would remove the manager of this establishment and get a person who is much better qualified to run a restaurant because with this type of management, you will continue losing alot of business. I do NOT plan on coming back to this restaurant again and will let my family and friends know about how we were treated. read more

I continue to come back to Chuys for the food only. Service has never been the best, mainly college students who honestly care less most of the time and there are usually A LOT of employees hustling about. Decor is very flashy, like most Chuy's and be ready for the creepy pictures all over the walls! However, the food is pretty good. I always get the "big as your face" burrito and the deluxe tomatillo sauce and it never disappoints. They have the thin, salty chips and pretty decent salsa. The creamy jalapeño is usually a safe bet for those looking for another sauce for both food and chips. The tortillas are made in the restaurant which is pretty cool and the ladies making them will give out samples as they make them. Overall it's a decent dining experience, even with the lack luster service I've experienced. read more

We visited my daughter and son-in-law over the weekend in Murfreesboro. She ate there last weekend and was told about their Cinco De Mayo celebration, including $5 taco bar, $2 margaritas and a live band. I called middle of the week last week to get more info. The girl I spoke with had absolutely no idea what was going on, even stated she had been off for the last 4 days and didn't really know what was going on. When I asked if I could speak someone who did know what was going on, she got an attitude and told me "what she knew for sure" which wasn't much. We got there Sat. afternoon and they had the entire front parking lot blocked off for one small rack of tshirts and 2 children's games. The "taco bar" and margarita machine were crammed into a tiny corner beside the front door. We went inside to the bar and the bartender was neither friendly nor helpful. It was very very sad. My daughter kept apologizing because she felt so bad about how lame it all was. We left without orrdering anything. Very poor management. Very sad. read more

I have been to Chuy's twice, once in Murfreesboro and once in Franklin. My Murfreesboro experience was exceptional, on a very busy Friday night. Our server was super-attentive and made sure our chips, salsa/sauces and soft drinks were always refilled. All of our orders were filled correctly (some substitutions of sauces had been made), and the food was served promptly. I had the Boom Boom Chicken Enchiladas, and they were exceptional. In addition to our server's attentiveness, the manager also came by our table to check on us. We were very pleased with the entire meal. Thanks, Chuy's! I'll be back. read more

Very warm and welcomed upon entry! Yummy chips and dip, we had a party of four Sunday for lunch. The grilled chicken salad was great, also the taco salad. I love their chips and dip, our server was a little slow in refilling drinks and chips but it was a busy time. The restrooms trash was over full which also could be from the busy time of day. What stands out to me is their AMAZING customer service. I was ordering food for my office -- had eight orders with multiple customizations, didn't want to do the catering thing -- so wanted to not have to call it in. Since they do not have an online ordering system, I tried their "contact us" link. Turns out, that goes to headquarters. They contacted me to let me know they weren't sure that the order would get to the local store in time and that I could call it in when they opened at 11. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from the store manager confirming that he had received my order that headquarters had forwarded and checking to see if it was accurate. (Yay! So headquarters DID send it on!) I had one more order to add, which he did. He customized our sauces, combined our chips into one big bag, and confirmed a pick-up time. Our person picking up the order was about 20 minutes late in getting there. About 15 minutes after the pick-up time, I received a call from the restaurant seeing if we were going to be significantly later and if so, they would remake the food. (What?! I mean, WE were the ones late!) She showed up a couple minutes later, so just picked up what they had originally made. And OMG, even cooled a bit and not sizzling hot, it was SO GOOD!!! 10/10 would order from them again! read more

Chuy's in my opinion is one of those places that kinda grow on you. The chips are very thin and sometimes extremely greasy and still soaked. The salsa is good but not what I am used to and something else I have grown to tolerate because my husband loves it so we are regular customers. The salsa is like a traditional/made fresh type thing, but to me seems like it is missing something. The creamy jalapeño ranch is yummy though and a must have every time we go. The chicken/steak fajitas are really good, me and my mother share the regular size which is plenty! Can't say much about any other dish because I always fill up on the chips and just end up stealing a few bites from my husbands dish. Their was one night that the bartender was horrible. I don't remember the persons name but they asked if my mothers boyfriend could explain how to make the drink he asked for... Really?? Drinks were also missing the olives ect... I would honestly rather drive almost an hour to go to Opry Mills because they offer a really good military discount and the food seems to taste a bit better. The only reason we don't drive down to Nashville is because normally Mexican food is chosen as a late, last minute "I don't feel like cooking" meal. I will never go back. I met some out of town friends there who both brought their babies with them. I arrived first and they asked if we would mind being seated on the patio. I told them no thanks since I didn't want the babies to be cold and it was cold and rainy outside but the hostess reassured me that it was a heated patio so i said ok. Well, half way through our meal, the other two tables around us began complaining that it was too hot which I thought was crazy bc it felt frigid even with the heater on. (And I'm hot natured) . They turned the heater off so I asked the waitress to turn it back on and she did. People started complaining again and the manager came to our table and basically told us they were sorry but they had to turn off the heaters... The rest of our time there was very cold and we had to go out to the car to get coats. Later our waitress told us the manager was going to take something off our check. When we got all our checks (3 separate checks) only one of us had a meal compted?? As if they just randomly decided who gets compensated for our frustration. So dumb. I'll never go back. read more

The food, always very, very good. The service is inconsistent, though. Some times it's awesome, and then some times we get a day like today. The seater sat my husband and I at the largest booth in the section, bypassing a smaller booth and available tables. Things were slow, but they didn't look busy and no one looked like they were interested in hustling. Chips and salsa took a while to get to the table. We finally ordered. Food got to the table, and since silverware had not been brought by either the chip person or the waitress, I asked for silverware and napkins. She replied, "No problem" - as if I were asking for some special treatment. Instead of taking the silverware from the empty table next to us, we watched our food while she went to wherever they keep the silverware and brought it to us. While we were eating, the waitress asked if we wanted separate checks. Just a weird experience all around. Food, as always, was yummy. Just a weird experience.
