I eat here 1-2 times a week. The food and service is great. Joel and his team do a wonderful job. They have a good authentic menu and a good "amerimex" menu. Drop by and try it out if you're ever in Murfreesboro!!

This place is the bomb. Great service clean and the food is amazing !!! Great atmosphere. Better than the piece of sh$& truck stop across the road

Maybe we ordered the wrong things but not my cup of tea for Mexican. The food came out fast but it was not as good. Nachos are generally good at any Mexican restaurant, unfortunately it failed here. My husband also agreed. We could definitely make them at home and taste a lot better then what was served here. The horchata was super sweet and didn't taste as fresh. The tamale was a sorry looking and tasteless tamale. The fajitas that my sister in law ordered was good so like I said, maybe my husband and I ordered the wrong thing.

Very underrated spot!!! Looked on yelp at the low reviews & took the gamble anyway. Glad I did! Food was really good. Don't pass this place up! Customize Pollo Loco and added peppers and onions. Food came out fast and server was very polite! 5 stars!

I'm from Chicago and when it comes to dine out we know what we talking about. La Siesta Mexican restaurant is at the right location unfortunately with bad management. The service is bad The food quality is bad they use to much salt to patch the flavor the food taste old and salty no good.

This salsa is the BOMB!!!

I recommend the #16 with a twist. Added Onions, Jalapeños, and cheese sauce to the chicken! So good and the Green Salsa is the best in town! Always great service and Carlos greets me with a hand shake every time he sees us. You don't get that to many places these days!

We've been…read moresearching for so long and I had honestly given up multiple times, but like all great explorers, we endured and persevered. Taqueria Lupita is a great spot nestled inside a gas station market. As soon as we walked in, I knew we were in for a treat. The smell of meat on the griddle and the aroma of toasted tortillas met our noses and it made my mouth instantly start salivating. The team behind the counter was working fast and got our order out super quick. I opted for a chicken burrito and it took all of my self control to keep from eating it on the drive home. But like all great explorers of old, we had to take our bounty back to the motherland for all to enjoy. I cut it open and see what the cross section looked like, and it was practically perfect. I forgot to ask for avocado, so that's on me. We got the red and green salsas with it and they were both great. I loved the roasty undertones and heat of the red salsa. The first bite of this burrito took me back to another place, far from Tennessee. It was a glorious first bite. The melty cheese, the rice, beans and the chicken combined to make the most delicious symphony of flavors. I can't say enough good things about this burrito, you have to try it for yourself. I'm eager to try more things on their menu, especially the torta, it looked amazing.

As soon as we saw the (previously Oakland) Raiders logo, we knew it was gonna be good! I got the steak (asada) burrito - it came with rice, beans, meat, sour cream, and lettuce. If I had to give a critique, I'd say it's just missing a little guac. But oh my word, this burrito transported me right back to California! The flavors were spot on, the ratios were perfect. It may have taken us five years, but we finally found a Mexican spot that will definitely be in our rotation. It's located inside a small gas station, which confused us at first. But once we walked in, it was clear where to order. Both guys working seemed extremely kind and helpful, and overall just happy to be serving people incredible food.

After running the Zoo Fun Run Run we (my hubby, our spawn and I) were stuck on Nolensville Pike…read moretraffic feeling hungry and not really in the mood for bumper to bumper traffic. Then the taco gods brought my attention to the sign "El Tacontento" right away I cracked up because as a Spanish speaker El Tacontento or EL ESTA CONTENETO means "he is happy". The play on words gave me a tickle and right away pulled into their drive way to park. As we walked up the driveway you could smell the delicious Al Pastor roasting on the trompo outside the shop. Now since moving out to Tennessee my expectation for authentic Mexican tacos have lowered significantly and wasn't expecting to be blown away, I was just expecting to enjoy the food (I was hungry after all). As a proud Mexican and taco lover there is a mental list I have that qualifies a taco stand/shop as authentic. First: the restaurant itself isn't pretty but keep in mind a great taco stand/shop its the quality of food that will speak louder than the interior. Secondly a good sign of great tacos is the garnish station, they have a station with pickled jalapeños, salsas, sliced limes, sliced cucumber all which you are encouraged to grab as much as your little heart desires. Third there has to be an overly enthusiastic taco master, the taqusita. Here's what one needs to understand, the person's energy that prepares your food get transferred to your food. That's why good soul food nourishes your soul, and a great taquero(taco master) will transport your taste buds. The family at "El Tacntento" definitely puts their heart into the food. I was starve'n like Marvin and shamelessly ordered 7 tacos, I had lengua (tongue), carnitas (fried pork), Al pastor (seasoned pork), cabeza (head), Chicharron (stewed pork rind), barbacoa(stewed beef) and of course Asada (grilled steak). OH MY GOSH SO GOOD!! Okay I will admit I wasn't a fan of the cabeza but its a texture thing for me, but I can not deny the seasoning was good never the less. Overall "El Tacontento" definitely has sets the bar for authentic and great priced tacos in Nashville. We can officially say this will be our go to place when we are in the area!

He recommended the Quesabirrias but I was craving standard tacos tonight. I ordered a cheese dip with chips and a couple of their salsa cups came with it and decided on the Tacos Al Carbon and a Mexican Coke (hence the $3.50 price tag). I sat down and within minutes the appetizer arrived and a few minutes later the tacos arrived. The cheese dip was good...pretty standard and their salsa was a surprise, good flavor, smooth, and no heat if that is a concern. The taco's were OK but were more like a cheesesteak taco versus the flavors you expect for Al Carbon (cilantro, garlic, jalapeño) especially seemed to be missing the "cooked over coal" part. Now the tacos were good, I added some lime juice and salsa for added flavor, and I liked how the tortilla was grilled and the onions were Al dente. But overall it really didn't fit the bill for "Al Carbon" steak. I will visit them again and check out some of the other items I saw being delivered to tables. The place is clean, love the artwork, and the service was solid. I'm not gonna debate what restaurants are having to pay for their products and charge for their food, but the cost of dining out is getting crazy.

I popped in one day after running errands around Murfreesboro and when I first saw that it was an old BK converted into Mexican restaurant, I thought to myself this is either going to be distrusting or delicious, and lucky for me it was the latter! El Cubilete serves up authentic Mexican food, and while you can still get the classics you are used to, they focus a lot on the true Mexican classics. Being the gringo I am, I went with my tried and true chicken, rice and cheese sided with some chori-queso. While the order was basic, the food itself was not. The queso, chips, chicken, tortillas and everything was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. To with the food, they brought out their house red and green sauce. SPICY is an understatement, but I could handle in small dabs, and through that realized while the green was milder, the red had better flavor. But honestly it was lose-lose for me with those sauces. In addition to the food, they have a small drink menu with beers, frozen drinks and a solid selection of agua frescas. Service was stellar. The owner was super kind, welcoming me in, checking on me during my meal and ultimately ringing me out. All the servers were friendly and helpful. Overall, odd layout and set up, along with service being communal (everyone serves everyone together), which is a bit odd...but even with all that, the food and service speak up and stand alone. Great spot with good folks and tasty food! I would certainly swing back through when in Murfreesboro.
