This place has generous portions, ultra-fresh ingredients, and (almost always) great service. We eat here at least once a week, and we're never disappointed. My fiancé and I are Chuey's regulars. It is not our first choice for Mexican, as many things we have tried there are mediocre (don't get the nachos), but the items that are good keep us coming back again and again. We love the chips and salsa, queso dip, and creamy jalapeño dip. The pollo con queso is always good, their tacos and burritos are pretty good too. My favorite is to order the Elvis fried chicken, which is a butterflied chicken breast breaded with potato chips, but I substitute the regular topping for their Boom Boom sauce. I like to order a side of cheesy rice and their delicious house made tortillas along with it, and make my own little tacos with the chicken, cheesy rice and creamy jalapeño dip. If you want dessert, look no further than the tres leches cake, a white cake soaked in a mixture of cream, milk, and sweetened condensed milk and topped with whipped cream and strawberries. Yum! I would go for the chips and salsa alone. I loved their fresh tasting salsa and the creamy jalapeno sauce. The chips are light and super crunchy. I also enjoyed the Chile Relleno with green chile sauce very much. Crunchy and spicy! Loved the atmosphere and the outside seating area. Prices were average and service was good. Their chips and the jalapeño dip are great! The chips are light and very tasty- not bland like some places. We went late afternoon so seating was quick. The construction in front of the restaurant can make it a bit challenging to navigate the traffic -but this is a temporary problem. Okay- again, I don't live in Murfreesboro anymore.. but Chuy's makes me wish I did :( First off---- get the salsa and the creamy jalepeno ranch. Then, order the "Chuy Gooey" dip.... My husband and I stopped here unexpectedly last Friday due to the fact that we were headed back To atlanta from visiting my family during the holidays and our car overheated. After a long day to get it to checked out we made it here so that we could at least get some food after having nothing to eat for over 9 hours. We decided to grab food here while we waited on the tow truck to arrive. Service: When I entered the door I was promptly greeted but I wasn't ready to be seated yet because I was waiting on my husband to come inside. Another couple came in a few minutes after me and we waited for the hostess for over 5 minutes and during that time no one came by or asked if we needed help or had been assisted. Once she came we were seated. Our waiter was amazing. He was attentive, but not overbearing, he was well informed about the menu (food and drinks) he also answered all my questions and made suggestions based on that. Food/Drinks: it was happy hour so I decided to partake in the larger frozen prickly pear margarita which was delicious! Our waiter gave me a sample which helped me make a decision instead of getting it and possibly wasting a beverage because I didn't like it. The chips were a bit too salty for me but the salsa that accompanied that helped ease the saltiness. The creamy jalapeño salsa was fantastic! My husband was a total fan of it and continued indulging in it to the point he couldn't even finish his meal. I ordered the burrito with Mexican rice inside instead of refried beans because I don't care for them. The order didn't come as requested but the waiter was more than willing to take it to make sure it was made as ordered. But I was too hungry so I declined. The food was very good and the creamy jalapeño salad was a perfect compliment to the fajita burrito. I ordered the charro beans as a side and they were also seasoned very well. My husband told me try the refried beans because he said I might like these, and he was right. They are the best refried beans that I've had before other than the home cooked ones. They were flavorful and tasted really good. Overall, this was a good visit, and it was a good place to eat and wait it out until our tow truck arrived. This is by far my favorite restaurant! My family and I have been atleast 8 times in the past 6 month's. The staff is very friendly and are very accommodating with kids. The last few time we went they were slammed but you could not tell by the waiters personality and food arrived at a very reasonable time. The food is absolutely off-the-chain! The salsa tastes very fresh and not like it comes from a jar. My kids love the jalepeno ranch dip. I highly reccommend the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom plate. You cannot go wrong with this place. "Extra Napkins Please" was a familiar refrain with our waitress. She was either too busy or too discombobulated to provide asked napkins until a good time after our food had arrived. I'm already a Chuy's fan, and the party the better half and I were there with had not had these troubles in the past so I can't mark it down TOO much for this. So we came back to Chuy's in Murfreesboro and I have to say it was a good experience. The food was hot, fresh and plentiful. Our server is the exact server we had before when we had a not so great experience. Last time she must have just been having a bad day. Today, she did an outstanding job. I will day one noticeable difference in this visit from our last and that is the Manager. Tried this place for the 1st time when my brother came to visit from the Navy. With my husband being a truck driver and delivering food to many restaurants in this area, I have the scoop on which spots are clean and which are totally disgusting. Hubby told me that this was one of the few places where the kitchen was actually clean and it was cool to try, so we did. Not disappointed at all! I'm sure many people from this area already know how good they are so for those of you who have not tried them, you can trust that their food and service is great and they are one of the few restaurants that run a clean kitchen. I'm really confused on how this place hasn't shut down. This is easily the worst tex Mex food I've ever had.

The service is really good, my waitress was attentive and very sweet. The food was brought to us quickly and still hot and my drink is frequently refilled. The music is good too. But unfortunately the food is overpriced, disappointing mush. It tastes like a wet paper. Their "burritos" are made of an inch thick tortilla and have nothing in them but a few pieces of meat and some very bland cheese. Have been to Chuy's twice and have had an amazing experience each time. Sat at the bar both times and have great service, the drinks are great and have some creativity to them. The food and sides are fantastic, got a mixed plate of items once and the green chili burrito the second time. What sets this place apart is the fresh homemade tortillas they use in there food. You can actually watch them make them! As a chef I was excited to see this, even got to eat one that just came off the grill. Amazing! i moved to Tennessee a couple months ago from Arizona, and the mexican food here is anything but authentic. so i'm very skeptical about mexican food here. but my husband brought me to Chuy's staying it was his favorite place in Texas, and how it's very TexMex which i love! i got the green chili steak burrito and it was fantastic and delicious! a little on the spicy side but that's how i love it! and the chips and salsa was so delicious; it came with creamy jalapeño sauce and it was to die for! delicious! 11/10 recommend ! read more

Let me start by saying I don't leave reviews often. The manager Brad does not care customer satisfaction. I wasn't told until my fajitas came out that they just ran out of rice. I was not offered extra beans or vegetables to compensate for not having rice. When I asked the server if there was something he could add he said the kitchen was about to shut down so I asked if I could get a drink on the house he said he would find out. The server brings out a drink, and at the end I was charged for the drink. When I asked to speak to the manager (Brad) he paced around the restaurant watching us from the corner of his eye before coming over. When Brad finally made it his attitude was worse than the food. He didn't introduce himself just asked what do we want. I asked him what he could do for us since they ran out of rice. Brad said he could do 10% off which was fine. Brad takes 10% off my fajitas which is equivalent to $1.70, if Brad would have looked at my entire check or was aware what was going on in his restaurant he would have realized that I had 3 meals come out with no rice. I won't be coming back because clearly my money is not valued in this establishment. Not sure if Brad was stereotyping or incompetent. read more
