Are churros the perfect dessert? I think that they are. Churros Don Abel Jr. is a food truck and I've seen them around various events. On this occasion, I visited them at the Bixby Knolls Farmer's Market as I couldn't pass up freshly fried churros served with condensed milk (lechera), thick caramel (cajeta), and nutella. It costed $10 for six long churros and the three 2oz portions of dips. It's a little pricey, but it's still a third of the cost of disneyland. I'll go with that math. Overall, I think that the churros were delicious, and the sauces bring it up another level. You will likely need to follow their social media to find them; however, I know that you can find them at the Bixby Knolls Farmers Market from 3p-7p on Thursdays. Aside from not knowing exactly where they'll be at, the other inconvenience is that they only take cash or payments through Zelle. Saw this spot on our way home and had to stop by. Their menu seems to be more updated than their other locations. 6 Churros W/ 3 toppings - was just enough to share with 2 people. We chose Strawberry, Lechera (condensed milk) and Hersheys. Churros were definitely made to order for us. Wait time was a little over 15 minutes. Who says no to a freshly made churro that's crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Wash your churro down with some of their cocomil. I always get Strawberry and chocolate. Yelp says they open business at 2pm, I went at 2pm. No truck, I called, they answered and said they start business at 4 pm instead. I came at 4:15 pm to the truck, they said they not ready until 30 min later so basically not ready until closer to 5pm. 1) update your hours correctly ( just be simple) 2) be honest and accurate of hours of operation 3) hours of business should mean churros are ready to be sold, not "we open at 4pm but wont be ready until 4:45pm." Not much to ask for. To all customers their hours listed for 2pm, but they don't show up until 4pm, But they don't sell churros until 5 pm. Churros Don Abel is my favorite churro truck! I used to drive super far to the original location, but now I drive 20 minutes less and get just as amazing of goods. Free cafe de olla on weekends with your purchase - be careful, it is scorching hot!! But the perfect complement. You can get churros with dipping sauces, but I like mine original without any additional dip/drizzle. I always buy 20 for my family and myself because they are THAT good. They are freshly made, perfectly crispy and warm on the outside and soft on the inside. I check out their Instagram for updated hours when I go, just in case they closed early or something happened with the truck that needs to be fixed. Service is very friendly. WOAH!!! BEST CHURROS I'VE EVER HAD! The perfect amount of crispiness and not too doughy! The churrochiny came with lechera, cajeta, and fresa. It was definitely on the sweet side but I just couldn't get enough. Now for the chocomil, wow how it brought me back to Mexico! They even served it in the bags lol I loved that touch! It was the perfect balance of chocolate and banana. The service was also amazing! Two gentlemen were working and accommodated us even after we arrived at closing without knowing of course. So I will give it to this place. The churros are good, hot, and fresh. I got 20 churros for myself and some friends to eat I also paid for caramel sauce on the side and didn't receive them. I didn't appreciate the worker who lied to my face saying he put 2 in my bag when in fact he didn't. I kept feeling on my bag, looking in my bag for them, didn't see them even asked him about them. He kept saying he put them in there....he didnt, never did. I was in a rush so I said forget it. We waited about 25 minutes for our churros and they were a bit cold which is crazy since you would assume they're coming out fresh with that wait time. When I politely told him that wasn't what we ordered he claimed chocolate and nutella were the same thing and wouldn't fix our order.
