I just got back my car after having my door repaired from a hit and run. I didn't get to check out my car because I had work so I had a family member go and pick it up for me. Today I went into my car and notice there is white dust/marks all over my seats and car. And a dog foot print?! You cannot tell it's not. It's clearly a foot print! All over my seats, armrest and daughters car seat. I am highly disappointed they even allowed an animal into someone else's car! I don't even allow any animals in my car at all. The lease they can do is wipe all that crap off for me.

Great value. I'd give 5 stars if the customer service was better. I understand shops are busy, but I feel the workers should acknowledge customers more promptly. Also the reason for the 4 stars is because I found some metallic residue on my paint. Luckily I keep it sealed so it came right off. Overall good experience. I feel Chung himself took care of me.

RATING'EM ZER0. 0! Don't waste your time coming here. Especially if you have modified vehicles. Lowered or lifted. STORYYYY TIMMMMME! We lifted our truck and decided to get alignment same day here right after since they were near by. When the alignment was pau he DID NOT do a test drive after. he just took it off the rack & stated "It's all good". When driving home, my husband noticed that the steering wheel was clocked more towards the right (1'oclock position). When he drives the steering wheel STRAIGHT (12 o'clock position), the truck will steer to the LEFT. We called to do a re-alignment. When the 2nd alignment was finished, Chung did take it out for a test drive on Kokea street for couple mins. He came back & my husband asked him "is it all good? It's okay?"... Chung said "it's better!". He drove back home & STILL the steering wheel was the same! It actually got worse, it's more tighter. We asked our family, friends who are mechanics & actually other car repair shops... & they all stated no, it's not supposed to be like that. I called to have him go over it again with us. Drove all the way to town so we can explain to him that it's not right. Chung was already irritated from the start & he drove our truck with both of us RECKLESSLY. why drive so fast down the road multiple times? Why are you driving 30-40mph so fast?! So we can't see the steering wheel as you drive?? He couldn't even give us the time to show him. (*Don't get me started with his other employee just yet*.) He says it's driving straight, which it is... BUT he was NOT UNDERSTANDING that the steering wheel was NOT. It's obviously not straight! Because I was sitting in the back and he kept moving the steering wheel. Unbelievable. He switched with his employee for "confirmation". This time I drove to show him what we mean since we couldn't with Chung. I kindly introduced myself and asked for his name... but hahahahaaa this smart guy just pointed at his name tag "right here" and got into the truck. RUDE. Brah You call this customer service?? But that didn't make me mad... it was This guy.. NOT PAYING ATTENTION AT ALL! I had to ask him to watch our driving. To observe the drive and the wheel. He was saying that it was crooked "because of the Nissan badge on the steering wheel was crooked." So he DID noticed it was crooked while driving?? Are you serious!? Ho brahhhh! .... Then I asked the guy does Chung lock the wheel? He says yeah... (FUNNY because Chung said it himself; he DOESNT.) I pulled over to park & was going to have him switch so he can try drive like what Chung asked him too but he did a big fuss. I stated this can be a safety issue too. He could only say "i don't know, I don't know. You have to talk to Chung about that". and the employee got out of the truck DURING the test drive and walked back to the shop smoking. WTF???? When we got back, he asked what his employee thinks. Obviously if an employee is getting a confirmation from his boss, he's obviously gonna say the same thing HIS BOSS gonna say. Lol He could only say he doesn't lock the steering wheel.... I told him "respectfully okay, that's what you like to do. you don't use the lock but we would like our refund back. We want to bring it to a place who does". He gets worked up saying because "that's old fashion" "it's back in the 90's". After all that he says Ok for refund, went into the shop and said "I don't have time for this." It takes a lot for me to get mad, but this tipped it off. 100. Braaaaaahhhhh OK.... Wow. Putting our trust in Chung & his shop... and having a friend refer us to this guy... it was unbelievable. What a ridiculous experience. we was not respected nor valued. We are sad.

They have cable TV to watch if you're going to wait, a bench and five folding chairs.

I'm a fan! My tires had been wearing unevenly ever since I bought this car, pretty sure the previous owner had it lowered. Anyway, I was tired of rotating the tires on my own, because the place I bought the tires said I had to buy new ones since the wear was getting too low on the tread. I finally called Chung's up for an alignment after doing some research on premature tire wear and shops in town. The receptionist answered my call and was able to schedule me the next day. I showed up a little earlier than expected and the owner came out and noticed my car and said he could take it in immediately. I decided to wait since he said it would be done in an hour or so. I sat in the waiting room, watched some TV and checked emails on my phone. Every so often the owner would rush in and answer the phone or greet a customer or delivery man. Soon enough my car was done. I drove it away feeling better about the ride. Overall the prices are competitive and service is excellent! I will definitely be coming back here when I need work done on my car.

I am so sick of dealing with this place. Stay far away from here if you want to save your car, money, and sanity. 5/18/21 - Called to make an appointment as my ABS and brake light sensor came on. My normal place (McCully union station - go there!) was unavailable, so after I saw the great reviews, I called to make an appointment. Getting an appointment with Mark was easy, but that's about the only nice thing I can say about this place. 5/20/21 - Take my car in. I'm standing around 15 minutes until finally, I ask to ask Mark if I should leave my car here, if I should wait, or what. That should've indicated the lack of customer service for what's to come. He says he'll call me once it's done, so I call my husband to pick me up. He did call with a quote for two rear brake replacements and said that my car would be ready for pick up before they close. I pick up my car only to find my service light still on as they didn't replace my wheel sensor because they had to order it; no biggie. Mark said it would take a couple of weeks and ensured me he'll call me as soon as it gets in. 5/28/21 - My recently replaced brakes are completely rusted (see picture). Not just a little rust, but full on, bright orange rusted. Turns out they used non-coated (aka the cheapest kind) of brake rotors. I would've gladly paid the extra $$ for coated brakes, but that wasn't an option. 6/10/21 - I call Mark, asking if my wheel sensors are in. He says it's not delivered yet, but he'll call when they get it in. 6/20/21 - I call Mark again, he says they forgot to order them. He'll call me when they get in. 6/30/21 - Called all morning, no answer. Finally get a hold of them and they said it's still not in, that they'll check on the order status and call me back right away. I told them at this point, if they don't want to service me and finish their job, to be straight up with me. They said they'll fix it and take a look at the rusted brakes, that the rusted brakes should not compromise the integrity of braking. Lo and behold, no call back. I can't trust anything they say at this point. 7/19/21 - I ask for Mark, he's not in today. Talk to another gentleman who is surprised that I haven't had my wheel sensor replaced since May. He says he'll call the dealership and call me back. No call back. When I call, it goes straight to voicemail and says that the voicemail is not set up. What the hell? Decided to go into the shop and show face. Mark said they could order the part today, install it tomorrow. They offered to install it another day, so I chose Saturday as to not disrupt my work week. This is exactly why I don't trust auto service shops and would rather have my husband or dad fix it, except I live on this hell of a service island and my husband has been gone for work. The fact that I paid $494 cash (the wheel sensors will cost me another $114.02) for completely rusted brakes, my lights still on, is ridiculous. I have my upcoming safety check that I know will not pass, which will incur other fees. Will update review accordingly based on the service I'm HOPING to finish on Saturday. Stay tuned...

We got coilovers installed recently. Found a lot of good reviews on yelp, we gave this business a try. Was able to make a appointment over the phone yesterday afternoon. Told me that they were busy but come by at 10am to squeeze us in. Arrived at 10am and yes they were busy. Had 2 vehicles in their shop on the rack, the phones ringing off the hook and a couple customers ahead of me. I gave the counter person my info and left my car with them. Returned a couple hours later. Checkout was quick, paid and they brought my car right up to the front for me. Very painless process dealing with these guys. Pros: customer service, labor prices & alignment is fixed. Cons: too many cars in parking lot & very small waiting area. Chose to have my wife pick me up instead of waiting. Would come back if we need future suspension work. Overall very satisfied with Chung's

Found a new sport for alignment. Mr. Chung is a really cool guy. He did alignment on my wife's lifted Honda Pilot without any problems and there's a waiting room to watch football. Lol

I was in need of an oil change for my FR-S. Called around a few shops and was quoted for $90 plus for synthetic oil. I saw the reviews on here about Chung's and decided to give them a call. They quoted me $74.99--cheaper and 15 minutes away. They took me in 1 hour later after the phone call and finished within 45-60 minutes (be mindful that they're working on other cars as you get your oil changed). Later on the day, I had to get oil change for my other car and called them again to see if it was ok to bring in. They were very nice and told me to come in half an hour! Very accommodating. I'd definitely come back again! read more

Fast service. Great price. His quote was half the other quotes I got. Assuming my car doesn't explode in a ball of fire afterward, it couldn't have been better. Chung was friendly, as was the woman at the counter. Very knowledgeable. I am a Chung's loyalist now. read more

Honestly in my 5 years on living in Hawaii I must say this has been the best mechanic company I've ever went to they have a wonderful staff who is helpful, caring and appreciative. They can get you in and out in a great amount of time, they are not just about the money they actually care about your vehicles I would definitely recommend chung's alignment & auto services they're worth the time. read more

Big mahalo to Chung...was searching where would be open after the hurricane fiasco and found this place in yelp and decided to call them base on the reviews..he was able to take me in ASAP. This place was awesome and so accommodating to my car needs. Chung helped me with my alignment and showed me what was wrong and what he did to correct the problem. Hes a very nice guy and the staff was friendly. And he backs up his work with a 6 MONTH WARRANTY!!!! Awesome. And the price he quoted me was really reasonable and beat everyone else. This will be the first time I'm having my truck done anywhere other than Island Brakes & Alignment. My husband went there on Friday to align even though we already knew that we had major problems with the front end. The problem was none of the other shops we took it to wanted to touch it because they were all blaming each other or saying you gotta take it back to whoever did your rims & tires or whoever torsioned it to the max hieght). However when he went to Chung's Alignment he checked the truck before aligning it & saw what was wrong. My husband knew what was wrong & knows how to fix it, but doesn't have the equipment. When he explained to my husband what was happening to my truck & what needed to be done. My husband asked for a quote & Chung had it done. The price was fair so my husband spoke to me & I said to him, if you think the price is good, & you trust him with our truck then schedule the appointment & get it done. So, Today Is The Day! Aloha Mr. Chung, After my Toyota Rav4 has replaced a new water pump at your auto on July,20, 2021, in three months later, the water pump has leaking out the pink coolant very seriously around the engine hardware and under the hood. I have returned back to your shop and request for fix this issue. But you did not take care of it and just test the system pressured on it. You knew that was the water pump leaking but just don't want to replace the new one because it will cost your more for fix within the one year warrant. Again it was still under the one year warrant after three months replaced the water pump since July, 2021. In the meantime, you did not fix the leaking issue, at the same day; I went to the CK auto repair where was next to your one. The auto technician there gave me an estimate report that was the water pump leaking issue after he done the examination on it. Then, after six months, according the coolant run down to the lowest level, I return to your auto shop again and you didn't check it deeply and did not even replaced the leaking water pump. You were fooling me around and told me to come back when something happen. This was the second time that you treated me with the same way and you didn't solve your water pump replacement problem. Then I want to the Liliha Chick's auto air & repair, the auto technician there have diagnosed on it and gave out the estimate report that was the water pump leaking issue. So I knew that you can't be trusted anymore since two auto technicians have the same examination reports. I have replaced another new water pump and it doesn't leaking so far since you didn't want to fix it. You have built up your negative reputation and have no credit at all. Your lack of reliability customer's service on me, it almost damaged my Toyota Rav4 engine while it was acting up by over heating happened caused by water pump leaking. I took my car in to get the tires balanced because the steering wheel would shake when driving on the freeway. After my first appointment, they said they balanced the tires, however the steering wheel would still shake when driving on the freeway. Called back to schedule a second appointment because the problem was not fixed. I was told it would take an hour to rebalance the tires, however I soon got a call saying that it would take 2 hours to fix because they were short staffed. When I returned to pick up my car after 2 hours, I was told that they only balanced 2 out of 4 tires. Even after the second appointment, the problem was not fixed and I had to schedule a third appointment to rebalance my tires. Between my second and third appointment, I noticed all 4 of my matte black rims had been scratched when they were in perfect condition before taking it in to chungs. I returned to chungs and spoke with the owner. He said that scratching the rims are unavoidable when balancing the tires. However that is not true. Had they used a plastic tool instead of a metal one, they could have prevented this. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this business and I am upset that they scratched my rims and did nothing to solve the issues read more

I am another happy customer of Mr Chung, very cool honest guy, vouching for all previous positive comments and 5- star ratings. I called Midas n was told it will take all day for wheel alignment n gave me a quote almost double as what Chung charged me to align my ML550. It took Mr Chung to complete the alignment in an hour. I'll be back to have my tire sensors installed n for any future repairs. read more

Submitted a request for an appointment on their website TWICE (submitted them a week apart). Got an automatic email after saying they'll contact me within a business day or so. It's been a week and never got a response back whatsoever. Called their phone number and they don't answer and can't leave a voicemail. Lack of communication from this company, very disappointed. Did they close down? Maybe that's why no one answering. read more

My dealer claimed that the bushings for my front wheel assembly was broken even though the car drove normally, and suggested that I change it. Thankfully I decided to take it to Chung's and Mr Chung took a look at it, said he checked it a couple of times and found nothing wrong with it. He also did not change me for it at all! Honesty and genuine service is what sets this place apart from others. Will bring my car here for all servicings and suspension/ wheel work from now! read more

I needed alignment to make an attempt at getting recon. I called all the usual alignment places for modified cars and no one could fit me in. Glad I found Chung on yelp. He was helpful over the phone when I explained my situation. He was just as cool in person when I went to the shop later in the afternoon. He explained to me what he would do and what the recon people look for with regard to the alignment papers and visual inspection. The actual alignment took a little over an hour. He explained to me that this was longer than normal and showed me the before/after printout of the alignment on my car. It was almost all red in the before picture, I knew the car would need some adjusting but not that much. I was really grateful he was able to get me in the day before a holiday (July 4th) and do such a great job with great service. The two other guys in the shop were just as friendly and professional, though I didn't interact much with them. I highly recommend checking Chung out if you're looking for auto services. Aloooooha. ..... What are the chances my experience at the recon station on Wednesday will be just as awesome? Haha. read more

After looking for a reputable Auto Service shop in Honolulu I found Chung's Alignment and Auto Service on Yelp. My niece goes to school in Honolulu and I was helping her find a more reputable shop other than the one she was going to. My niece (and her dad) had ask for estimates to locate and fix a wheel bearing noise. They received estimates to replace rear wheel bearings close to $1000.00. The problem was they never actually located the specific bearing that was causing the noise. They just said the noise was coming from the rear bearings for my niece's 1996 Toyota RAV4. After seeing reviews for Chung's Auto, I requested feedback and talked to Mr. Chung in regards to the estimate from the other shop. I asked my brother in law (niece's father) to schedule an appointment with Chung's Auto Service to diagnose the wheel bearing noise. Chung's Auto did a fantastic job in diagnosing and locating the bearing that was causing the noise. The other shop indicated rear wheel bearing noise. Chung's expert mechanics diagnose and located the noise was from the left front wheel. After installing new bearings the noise went away. After wheel bearing repairs along with an alignment the total cost was $375.00. These guys are well trained, courteous, honest, and reasonably priced for sure. My niece will be coming to this shop for service going forward. read more

Awesome little auto shop. Did some suspension work to my new truck myself, just wanted to make sure all the alignment numbers were still in spec. Good thing I took it in because the numbers were off. The owner explained what was going on, climbed under the truck himself and got everything lined up perfect. Truck drives noticeably better! Thanks again Chung!! Fixed my car when the starter went on it. They were very helpful and accommodating with towing. When fixing they noticed an oil leak and gave me great advice. Staff seemed very knowledgeable and they have fair pricing. Would definitely take my car there again if I ever need a tune up. read more

Chung is an honest mechanic. After calling four or five different places, their rate for tires and an alignment was the best price. Chung did the work quickly (it was very busy). After he finished the alignment he personally told me the alignment reading showed that no adjustments were needed. Chung then did not charge me the alignment fee (around $150 or so). He could have charged me and I wouldn't have known. Chung is an honest mechanic and comes highly recommended. read more

First of all, responded to my questions same-day on here and they are willing to squeeze you in on their schedule even up to the last half hour that their shop is open. So we definitely know where we will be coming to change our oil from now on! We came about half an hour early than our appointment that was scheduled and James quickly went to work with getting the info he needed and got started on our truck. And he was done in 30minutes. He was patient with answering my billions of questions! Absolutely great service! Experience was REALLY REALLY AWESOME!!!! Pricing? Totally reasonable! Chung's was without a doubt the most pleasant experience that I have ever had with an auto shop. My fiance recommended that I take my car there for an estimate and I can't tell you how much I appreciated Chung's honesty about what needed fixing, what could wait, and how much each part would cost depending on sourcing. There is a reason Chung's has so many good reviews. Took my car in to a Firestone with a bad noise coming from the front left wheel well. I was told by them that it was the axle and I needed to take it to the dealership for repairs. With suspicions that they were wrong, I took it to Chung's for a free diagnosis (most people want $100 just to look at it). Within one minute of looking at the car, he finds the problem; a sheared shock absorber. Within 5 minutes he had the car up on the lift and the wheel removed. He got the parts and fixed my car before the afternoon was over. The total cost was half of what online estimates said it should have been. Oh and they said the alignment was warrantied for 6 months. Super friendly, super fast, awesome prices. Take your car to Chung's people, seriously! read more

Chung's is definitely the spot to go to if you need an alignment. I just put in a new suspension on my lifted truck and needed an alignment. Called around a couple places and Chung's was the best priced ($100 less than some other well known places). I called to make an appointment and they were able to take me in the same day. They had my truck done in an hour and a half and didn't even charge me extra for needing the recon alignment. Highly recommend and will be the only spot I get alignments from now. read more

Called the shop on a recommendation from another service professional in the area and they answered my questions over the phone promptly and without issue. They were able to see me THAT day, like literally within 30mins! None of this this, "Well, maybe next week.." like some of these others out there. Right here, right now service which was awesome! Took it in and James went right to work diagnosing what was up. Him and Chung himself took care of some of the troubleshooting required with my car and recommended some future service which I will definitely be back for!! Looking for someone to accommodate a lifted truck on short notice was a pain. But these guys came through with ease. Come to find out my upper control arm busted and the ball joint was hanging on for dear life but not only did they diagnose but they ordered the replacement for same day and had it installed by 5. Waiakea high class of 1993 in Hilo. Graduate from Sequoia Institute (auto trade school) in Fremont CA in 1996. Worked at Big O Tires in SF for a few years & became the #1 alignment tech nation wide, tech #91. With over 20,000 wheel alignments performed, on Subaru, Mazda, Volvo. He let me know they were pretty booked that day but offered Thursday, 3/26/26 instead. My schedule was full on Thursday, so we settled on Tuesday, 3/31/26. Later that day, my Thursday opened up, so I called back. Timo picked up again and was able to fit me in at 9am. Super easy, super friendly. When I arrived today, 3/26, the owner, Bubba, greeted me right away and welcomed me in. I let him know I had a 9am appointment and that I was a few minutes late because I went to the wrong address. I also mentioned that I'd actually been to them years ago at their old location (funny enough, also with a gift certificate) and had a great experience back then too. Bubba shared that they'd moved to this new spot just about a year ago. He checked me in and asked if I planned to wait or leave. I told him I'd stay, and he gave me the option of sitting outside or heading upstairs to their waiting room with AC and a TV. Upstairs, there's even a window where you can see the mechanics working on the vehicles, which I thought was a nice touch. I got some work done on my laptop while I waited. A little later, one of the mechanics came up to let me know he recommended a tire rotation. He walked me through the estimate he texted over, and I approved it. Not long after, he came back to tell me everything was done, and that I had a zero balance. I asked if he was sure because I was prepared to pay for the rotation, but he said Bubba took care of it. I thanked him and asked for his name, and he told me it was Timo. I mentioned that he was actually the one who helped me over the phone when I booked my appointment, and I thanked him again. That kind of gesture says a lot about the heart behind a business. When I headed downstairs, Bubba even backed my truck out for me so I could pull right out. I thanked him again and was on my way. From start to finish, the service was genuinely great. Everyone was friendly, laid back, and humble. The shop itself isn't fancy, but that's part of its charm--you can feel the honesty and hard work in the way they run things. I found this shop from local ChInese newspaper, since my sedan was modded and reconed, normal alignment shop doesn't have correct equipment to do the job. This noon I just stopped by and checked this shop, ample parking in front and very warm welcome and quick check in, turns out boss is on site today. The work was done within 2 hours as promised to me, he also pointed out my right front tire needs to be replaced soon due to misalignment for safety reason. He also went extra efforts to help me install cabin new air filter and tightened up front bumper due to my sedan overall low clearance and cut away broken pieces. After these work, I feel much better to handle the wheel and car looks nicer too. Two thumbs up for his outstanding work and customer service, I probably will rely on him for my two vehicles maintenance work down the road, highly recommended to other friends!! read more

Chung provided superb service. 1. He was very responsive to emails even during after hours. 2. He asked the right questions in the emails to narrow down the problem before actually checking the car. 3. He was able to confirm the problem in matter of minutes after seeing the car. He then drove off to pick up the part needed right away. 4. He saved me hundreds of dollars by finding a transmission shift cable bushing specific for my car. Usually bushing comes with the cable and to replace the whole thing can get pretty darn expensive. I would strongly recommend Chung to everyone! read more

Late review but had great service here which was greatly appreciated. I came for an oil change and brake repair and they did a free alignment with the oil change. Chung said my brakes were still ok and resurfaced the rotors instead of telling me to buy new ones, which saved me a few hundred dollars.
