Stop scrolling for a place to eat & visit Chuckwagon - you won't be disappointed. This small town restaurant is welcoming & offers classic food in a BIG flavorful way. We had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich & the Ultimate Burger, both with tater tots. These are no regular tater tots - they were seasoned & crisp on the outside. My husband had nothing but good things to say about his burger - mouthwatering & perfectly cooked. We'll definitely be back on our next road trip! While you're there, visit the original Phillip 66 Station from when the town was booming - so much history.

Cleaned my Chicken Fried Chicken plate with last piece of Texas Toast. Yum !!!

So good it will make your spurs spin INDEED!!! Homemade meals abound at this McLean TX culinary treasure with TEXAS SIZE friendly service. EVERYTHING had a "made from scratch" taste. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and my Route 66 Road Trip buddy got the Alecia (sp?) Crazy Chicken. We were both tremendously impressed by the tender chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, and buttered Texas toast! The mixed vegetables were 'meh' yet the fresh Sweet Tea washed everything down nicely. A true gem indeed! It's a MUST STOP on the Mother Road .Chicken Fried Chicken

Best Biscuits and Gravy I've had in a long time! The burrito was very filling with a touch of spice!

If you're ever wanting a good old fashion hamburger and fries stop in at Chuck Wagon in McLean TX. It's a huge burger so if you're not a big eater I suggest you share. We didn't and I had to leave over half of mine. Cute little place with friendly people. We talked to an old timer the whole time we were there. Glad YELP helped me find this place..

Stopped here on a road trip with the family and had lunch at Chuckwagon. The food was great and I had a burger were they used grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. Yummy yummy!

The Big Texan Steak Ranch is definitely an experience, not just a meal!…read more We went all in and ordered the ribeye, brisket, and ribs with sides of green chili creamed corn, fried okra, and cowboy beans. The steak was flavorful and tender, the ribs literally fell off the bone, and the brisket was solid and satisfying. The standout for me? The green chili creamed corn and fried okra, absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The cowboy beans were okay... just beans, nothing special compared to the rest of the meal. Service was superb, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. And of course, the entertainment factor is real! While we were there, we watched someone attempt the famous 72 oz steak challenge. Fun fact: it's actually cheaper to take the challenge and pay less than to just order the steak outright. That alone tells you how legendary this place is. If you're in Amarillo, this is a must-stop for both the food and the atmosphere.

My dad…read morehas been talking about this restaurant non-stop since the last time he drove through the area, all of the billboards advertising the 72 oz steak challenge really drew him in. We took a stop here for lunch recently. Our server was okay, pretty bare minimum service and I had to ask for water refills. I liked the fried pickle appetizer, however I felt the pickle spears were too thick. Andreas were good, I really enjoyed the quesadilla and my dad enjoyed his steak. There's a bit of a communal vibe inside, with long tables where you are sat next to other parties. It was fun to talk to other people also going on road trips and talk about where they're coming from and going to.

my sister and I went to breakfast together yesterday at the I hop at western and I-40…read more we got there about 9:15 and were seated at a table in the back. The waitress came and told us welcome and took our drink order. When she brought the drinks she wanted to know if we were ready to order and we said no we needed a few more minutes. She then went in the other room and came back in less than 2 minutes and we said we were still looking she turned and walked away. when she came back we made our order and added hash browns onto it. there was only 3 other sets of people in that part of the restaurant. my sister finally asked if the cook was on vacation or what. Then she told us that there was only one cook and they were very busy. Even the district manager was there helping out. the district manger is the one who brought us our food when we got our order the only thing that was cooked worth eating was the 2 over easy eggs. the hash browns were stone cold. and the sausage patty which we had to ask for. the waitress told us it came with sausage links and if we get a patty you only get one. my sister told her we want the patties and we wanted two of them. we ended up only getting one. and she did not offer to refill our drinks--not at all. and I have problems with swallowing so I need a drink with my meals. When the other tables were through eating she was right there taking care of them. But we had finished she was no where to be seen. we sat there waiting for a good 15 minutes waiting on her to come back so we could pay. Then she finally comes and puts her machine on the table and walks away. We have no idea how to work it. My sister tried to put her tip in other than what the machine said and it was not what we wanted to give. When she came back my sister told her the machine had gone off and she wanted to see what was coming out of her bank she told her it was no longer on the screen. My sister looked on her bank apt and it told her it was pending. She told her she would like a printed receipt and she grabbed her machine and left our table. when she brought the receipt to us she just turned around and walked away. no we won't go back there!!

About five minutes later, he came to take my order. I asked for two hot chocolates and two cups of water, but before I could even finish ordering, he walked away to get on his phone and ignored us completely. When he finally brought the drinks, the hot chocolate was watered down( on a cup to go no whip cream) and he never once asked if we needed anything. This time had to speak louder to just to get his attention before he walked away to place my order. The food came out dry, and still no one checked on us no refills no sauce no silverware no napkins but Mr Quintin on his phone. Then, half way through the meal, he dropped off the check - no "How's everything?" or offer to refill drinks. What makes it worse is that the place wasn't even busy. I was the only table when I arrived, and it only got slightly busy later when two more tables came in. I'd understand if they were slammed, but this was just lazy and careless. I was the only table at the restaurant then two other tables got busy 3 tables you had to tend to really ? Really disappointing experience. Poor attitude, zero attention, and bad food service. Definitely not what I expect but I still left you a tip maybe you buy some attitude with it . Btw. I saw 3 guys no uniform one of them looked like Maui from Moana but white he was making his own drinks in the kitchen I should of done the same
