Phillip 66 Station

Stop scrolling for a place to eat & visit Chuckwagon - you won't be disappointed. This small town restaurant is welcoming & offers classic food in a BIG flavorful way. We had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich & the Ultimate Burger, both with tater tots. These are no regular tater tots - they were seasoned & crisp on the outside. My husband had nothing but good things to say about his burger - mouthwatering & perfectly cooked. We'll definitely be back on our next road trip! While you're there, visit the original Phillip 66 Station from when the town was booming - so much history.

Cleaned my Chicken Fried Chicken plate with last piece of Texas Toast. Yum !!!

So good it will make your spurs spin INDEED!!! Homemade meals abound at this McLean TX culinary treasure with TEXAS SIZE friendly service. EVERYTHING had a "made from scratch" taste. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and my Route 66 Road Trip buddy got the Alecia (sp?) Crazy Chicken. We were both tremendously impressed by the tender chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, and buttered Texas toast! The mixed vegetables were 'meh' yet the fresh Sweet Tea washed everything down nicely. A true gem indeed! It's a MUST STOP on the Mother Road .Chicken Fried Chicken

Best Biscuits and Gravy I've had in a long time! The burrito was very filling with a touch of spice!

If you're ever wanting a good old fashion hamburger and fries stop in at Chuck Wagon in McLean TX. It's a huge burger so if you're not a big eater I suggest you share. We didn't and I had to leave over half of mine. Cute little place with friendly people. We talked to an old timer the whole time we were there. Glad YELP helped me find this place..

Stopped here on a road trip with the family and had lunch at Chuckwagon. The food was great and I had a burger were they used grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. Yummy yummy!

Really delicious food in a down-home atmosphere. Friendly staff, good prices, large portions. Worth a stop in McLean!

The hash browns clearly tasted fresh--like they were cut that morning, not frozen or from a supplier bag. Everything had amazing flavor and gave me energy for the whole day. The waitress was very sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place--let's support small businesses in America!

Our ribeye was amazing, marinated in spices and cooked to perfection. We chose the two included sides and ours were a loaded baked potato and string beans. Because we shared the 12 Oz steak, we added a side and chose grilled zucchini. All were grilled in real butter, except of course, the potato. And even though our amazing, cheerful server, Joey, assured us real butter in the grilling, the loaded potato's condiments were real sour cream, real bacon bits, chives and for some mysterious reason little butter/looking tubs of dreaded "vegetable" oil. When we mentioned this to Joey, she shared our surprise and immediately offered to replace the whole side, which we declined, simply scraping off the fluffy yellow, heart-damaging, pretend oil. Joey even checked with the chef before we had to ask about dessert options and was happy to report safe choices were all butter coconut cake and vanilla ice cream. We're not trying to be difficult, just healthy. And with servers like Joey, there's hope that people are becoming aware. In any case, with the exceptions mentioned, a good steakhouse like Mesquite Canyon is always a good bet for the health conscious. The restaurant isn't fancy, has a sunny back area for dining away from the darker bar area, and even offers some tasty local beer.

As we pulled in, the parking lot was 90% massive trucks. As we walked through the doors, 90% cowboy hat-adorned patrons stared at us. It was intimating but I hoped they wouldn't bite. Our server was super friendly and put us at ease. Much to my disappointment, they only serve breakfast before 11 and this was around noon, so I wouldn't be able to try the texas waffle. I went with my back up, grilled cheese and couldn't resist the fried biscuit on the menu so added that to the tab. GF ordered the fried steak sandwich. This was obviously the lunch rush and that became very apparent. It took almost an hour for our food to come out and that really fucked us with the timing of our day. When the food did come, it was delicious. My grilled cheese was served on two thiccc slices of bread with melty american cheese. I would have preferred if the bread was toasted even a little bit. The sandwich was served with ridged chips. Regarding the fried steak sandwich, GF reports "it was heavy but tasty, not what I usually eat". She received tots on the side which were the crispiest tots I have ever had. I don't have words for the fried biscuit. It was out of this world. I can't do it justice by describing it. It was ORGASMIC. I'm glad I probably won't have the opportunity to eat this again because that shit is DANGEROUS. Food was very solid, service excellent, wait was a challenge.

When you walk in, If they have a table available, they will direct you to it, otherwise they will take your last name and tell you to go back outside and wait until they call your name. The menu is fairly straightforward so orders turned around pretty quick and it was a maximum of 20 to 25 minute wait to turn a table. My husband ordered the Hell burger which had the hot sauce on it and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Both were absolutely fantastic as well as the shoestring fries were very good! Hubs really liked that his burger had a ton of peppers on it as well as the hot sauce so he felt like he was getting his daily vegetable allotment, lol! The service was actually pretty quick again, I believe this is because the menu was super simple and they had a ton of regulars coming in. You can also order to go if you don't want to wait as several people did, and my understanding is the packaging is fantastic so just as good as if you were sitting in the restaurant. The place is super small and there are tons of stuff on the wall so it's an interesting place. Service was friendly and efficient and now we can check this one off our checklist that we have been here when driving through Amarillo!
