They did not deliver, fine, but they also refused to do curbside pick up. Stoped in McLean Texas for the evening and came across this wonderful little blast from the past (Route 66 diner) and had to stop in for breakfast after reading some reviews. This little gem lives up to the reviews, nice decor, clean, and welcoming atmosphere with fantastic southern hospitality! The food was exactly what you expect in Texas, old school cooking from the grill and mouth watering flavors in every dish. Eggs were perfect, bacon crisp, and hash browns soft on the inside and that nice grilled crispy crunch n the outside. The Texas scramble was a work of art and tasted the same and I ordered the 1/2 order which was so much food, I couldn't even finish it all. This place is AWESOME... went in for breakfast after a snowstorm and ordered the breakfast burrito and short stack. One of the best burritos ever; egg, ham, cheese, potatoes - hot and fresh. The salsa is homemade and off the hook. The potatoes in the burrito had a crisp on them that set the entire meal on its edge. Excellent cooking here. Mr. Muscle gives in 2 thumbs up. The pancakes were served HOT with (I swear) a 1/3 cup of butter - just like I like it. They had the crispy edges where you can tell they poured them on a sizzling hot griddle. YUM. Latte was better than any coffee chain. Owner and in-laws were completely charming. Didn't want leave this place. Stop for sure if you are on Route 66 and for the love of heaven, jump off the I40 for this place. This is the type of place that you want to support and visit any time you can. read more

My husband & I were passing through on I10 back to SoCal and decided to have breakfast there. These little hole in the wall, mom & pop shops are usually wonderful. Not so here. I think it's hard to screw up breakfast but they succeeded. Powdered creamer for the coffee; scrambled eggs with with so much milk in them they were light, light yellow and therefore tasted terrible, my husband's over medium eggs were definitely over easy and soaking in grease; the bacon was microwave bacon; the pancakes tasted like biscuits and the syrup was packages of syrup like at McDonalds; toast was cold. Don't go here for breakfast. We paid $28.00 with tip for a breakfast that a fast food place far surpasses. read more

When we walked through the front doors all of the regulars said Good Morning and were very welcoming. The staff were also super nice and fast on their feet.
