Decided on Hasty's as it was practically next door to our motel, The Irish Inn. We had burgers and onion rings and split the frito pie just to taste it because they are so rare to see on menus anymore and we love 'em. Burgers were really good! Onion rings were of the frozen variety, not bad but in a place like this hand dipped fresh would be so much better. The frito pie was yum! What was really impressive though is how friendly every employee we encountered was. Also super impressive were the young ladies working there, when not busy with customers, they were wiping things down *behind the counter, the drive thru window inside and outside) and just generally keeping the place nice. It has been a long, long time since I've seen this kind of detailed upkeep and busyness by workers in a service business. Great training by the owner and these young ladies will make wonderful employees as they move on to other careers because someone took the time to teach them how to be good employees.... compliments from a hiring manager of many young people who lack this kind of discipline and attention to detail. read more

Well, in small town northwest Texas, there's not much to choose from but as we were driving through Shamrock, we decided to try Hasty's. Now, was it the best food we've ever had? No, just basic that you could find just about anywhere BUT! the service was great. Everyone was friendly, we got our food quickly even though it was busy on a Saturday afternoon. Rarely ever 5 stars...always room for improvement. My pal and I are out storm chasing and any food is better than gas station food period. This was a nice little find in Shamrock while we were waiting for storms to arrive. Very unassuming joint with a busy drive up. Burgers are basic, hard to mess up and filling. I also had the onion rings which were significantly better than I anticipated. Decor is Irish, Shamrock and kitschy diner. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Not many options in Shamrock, so this is a good one. read more

I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was good. It's more like a smash burger and had a good flavor.

Friendly staff!! Hamburger & Philly Steak Sandwich were good, but not special. The onion rings were frozen & tempura batter is not our favorite, but they were good. Casual diner atmosphere. Didn't try the ice cream, shakes or banana pudding, but I heard others ordering them as they received many phone-in & drive-thru orders while we were there. read more

Currently exploring Route 66 and stopped in Shamrock for lunch. We received a warm welcome as soon as we walked in. The environment is so friendly and very clean. I'll remember this Philly because the owners husband recommended it as one of his favorites and I can see why - it was fresh and delicious! read more

DO NOT MISS THIS RESTAURANT!! En route to OKC on I-40, my husband and I decided to stop for lunch in Shamrock, TX. We heeded the reviews of fellow Yelpers and decided on Hasty's. We're so glad we did. We received a warm greeting at the door and were given menus with an extensive selection. I chose the grilled chicken ranch salad with grilled onions and jalapeños. Hubby ordered the Philly Beefsteak sandwich. Both were amazing. I took a bite of the sandwich--best Philly sandwich I've ever tasted. The grilled chicken in my salad was moist and succulent; the ranch dressing homemade and delicious. The prices were very reasonable and the service was over-the-top friendly. If you're ever find yourself hungry on that lonesome stretch of I-40, stop at Hasty's. (You can thank me later.) read more

Driving thru on the I-40 and this popped up after searching for "food", so perfect for locals & those passing by because it's right off the highway. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger, cheddar bacon fries, and a chicken wrap. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Very happy to stumble across this gem. 10/10 RECOMMEND THE CHEDDAR FRIES You gotta order yourself one! It was so good I forgot to take a picture of it. Entire front end of the restaurant is very clean; provides Lysol hand wipes at every table, talk about great customer service by their friendly staff. read more

The fries were fries. The chicken strips were chicken strips. The cheeseburger was a cheeseburger. The brownie was a real treat though. The location is not as small as you would think on the inside, and they keep it clean and sanitize between customers but the employees don't wear masks. It's not a bad place to get some grub when you're on the road and tired of fast food, but unfortunately they don't really stand out either. read more

We we're staying at the Best Western and wanted something light to eat. The desk clerk recommended this little cafe. It was just right next door to the Inn. This place is a gem! I ordered the vegetable beef soup. It was piping hot, chocked full of peas, carrots, potatoes, corn, and ground beef in a hearty broth. I had a choice of cornbread or some other type of bread or crackers. Just the thing for a cold evening. My hubby had the chili dog, and he sucked it up like a good thing! The place was clean, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely return! read more

Wow! Great little place to grab a bite! Conveniently situated, friendly staff, delicious food. We had the special - Tortilla Soup which came with a nice simple grilled cheese sandwich. Soup was exceptionally good!! The Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich was great, as was the Hamburger. We finished off with tasty Chocolate Shakes. Whewyyyy this is the place of my dreams. Small town diner vibes with fantastic people. Im a huge proponent of eating local whenever possible, especially in small towns like Shamrock. These folks are keeping main streets alive and deserve every bit of kudos and support they can get. And oh boy, do they earn it here at Hasty's! Everything is made fresh and even a simple chef salad is amazing. The crispy chicken they use is truly phenomenal, seems to be hand breaded perhaps and the cooks know how to get that crisp without compromising the juicy chicken. The homemade ranch is amazing and great mix between the runnier and creamy/dip type. As for the sides, I'm kicking myself for getting only one instead of mixing. The fried okra was truly amazing. I've never had better fried okra in my life. Once again, the cooks know how to get that amazing crackle without overdoing it. I'd try the pickles next time (and okra of course...yes, I'm obsessed) or even just making a meal out of sides! I'd recommend to anyone passing through for a quick home cooked meal. You won't see Hasty's from I-40, take a couple of turns off the freeway. A basic building with a big Hasty's sign, and a drive thru. The menu is burgers fries, fried tenders and sandwiches. The evening we stoped in, there was a special on the menu board, STEW. Coming from a place where most food is fried we opted for the stew, what an old fashioned treat, a great option on a cold rainy November night. Topped off with fresh baked peach cobbler. The service could not be friendlier, faster or better. Hasty's is a must stop traveling I-40 through the Texas panhandle. read more

On the the road today and stopped in shortly before their closing time but felt very welcomed. 5 in our group but we were taken care of quickly by the very friendly staff. From the burrito to the chicken fried steak to the fish we all agreed were excellent. Hand dipped ice cream, an excellent chocolate malt and brownies made the meal. He said it was the best he ever had..:: just saying something because he's 78 years old. Very friendly atmosphere here and very clean. Hasty's has been around I think longer than I have been alive and I'm glad to say I don't think it is going anywhere. It's relaxed and friendly atmosphere is a great combination to its freshly made food. They always have a smiling face behind the counter and the fries are piping hot when you get them. My husband and I stopped in on our drive to Tennessee and it was by far the best meal we had on the whole trip. My husband got the club with chips and I got the homemade chicken salad sandwich with potato salad and they were both amazing. If we are ever in the area again we will stop by every time no doubt about it. We both completely cleared our plates. Friendly service but mediocre food. Cheeseburger was okay. The soda cups were chock full ice and very little soda. The onion rings were a nice size, but they were fried in dirty grease and they tasted like it. The fixed bench seats were uncomfortable especially for large people. read more

Stopped at Hasty's on the recommendation of a Truck driver (Indiana Jack, my mom watches him on you tube). His recommendation was good, the burgers were satisfying, the homemade chicken salad and potato salad were great and the pulled pork was terrific and a generous portion. This burger stop is a true slice of Americana, with men and boys in cowboy hats and baseball caps, they had proud to be American signage and the American flag represented proudly everywhere.
